The reverse side of calling is the temptation of conceit.
Have you Answered your call? KKIM/DDC
Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May the Strength, Peace and Wisdom of our Lord be with you and yours forever and ever!
If more people answered the call of our LORD we would have less problems.
One of my most favorite times of the day is when I am having a CUP with you and sharing what God has put on my heart. It is so wonderful to be with you. Then I love it when you join me live on the radio every weekday afternoon at 4:30 on KKIM/KARS for NM News and Views.
As Pastor Larry Moss told me awhile back I have answered God’s call! I am not saying that to you to brag about …I am sharing that with you to encourage you to answer God’s calling in your life.
It is so important that we answer that call……….
Os Guinness in his book, THE CALL, defines the notion of God’s calling this way:
Calling is the truth that God calls us to himself so decisively that everything we are, everything we do, and everything we have is invested with a special devotion, dynamism, and direction lived out as a response to HIS summons and service.
AMEN! I had to read those words a couple of times……How are you doing with what God has called you to do with your life?
Questions to ask ourselves………
Do you know what God has called you to do?
Have you turned your life completely over to HIM?
Does HE guide every moment of your life?
Have you devoted your life to HIM?
Calling has a vital, extended meaning in the New Testament that flowers more fully in the later history of the church. God calls people to himself, but this call is no casual suggestion. He is so awe aspiring and His summons so commanding that only one response is appropriate——a response as total and universal as the authority of the Caller. Thus in the New testament, as Jesus calls his followers to himself, he also calls them to other things and tasks: to peace, to fellowship, to eternal life, to suffering, and to service. But deeper even than these particular things, discipleship, which implies “everyone, everywhere, and in everything,” is the natural and rightful response to the Lordship of Christ. As Paul wrote the followers of Christ in the little town of Colosse, “Whatever you do, work with it with all your heart, as working for the LORD, not for men.”
There is not enough preaching going on about the Call of our LORD!

Here is a story that my Sharon wanted to share with us………
I wish you ENOUGH!
Recently I overheard a Father and daughter in their last moments together at the airport. They had announced the departure.
Standing near the security gate, they hugged and the Father said, ‘I love you, and I wish you enough.’
The daughter replied, ‘Dad, our life together has been more than enough. Your love is all I ever needed. I wish you enough, too, Dad.’
They kissed and the daughter left. The Father walked over to the window where I was seated. Standing there I could see he wanted and needed to cry. I tried not to intrude on his privacy, but he welcomed me in by asking, ‘Did you ever say good-bye to someone knowing it would be forever?’
‘Yes, I have,’ I replied. ‘Forgive me for asking, but why is this a forever good-bye?’.
‘I am old, and she lives so far away. I have challenges ahead and the reality is – the next trip back will be for my funeral,’ he said.
‘When you were saying good-bye, I heard you say, ‘I wish you enough.’ May I ask what that means?’
He began to smile. ‘That’s a wish that has been handed down from other generations. My parents used to say it to everyone..’ He paused a moment and looked up as if trying to remember it in detail, and he smiled even more. ‘When we said, ‘I wish you enough,’ we were wanting the other person to have a life filled with just enough good things to sustain them.’ Then turning toward me, he shared the following as if he were reciting it from memory.
I wish you enough sun to keep your attitude bright no matter how gray the day may appear.
I wish you enough rain to appreciate the sun even more.
I wish you enough happiness to keep your spirit alive and everlasting.
I wish you enough pain so that even the smallest of joys in life may appear bigger.
I wish you enough gain to satisfy your wanting.
I wish you enough loss to appreciate all that you possess.
I wish you enough hellos to get you through the final good- bye.
He then began to cry and walked away.
They say it takes a minute to find a special person, an hour to appreciate them, a day to love them; but then an entire life to forget them.
*Only if you wish send this to the people you will never forget and remember to send it back to the person who sent it to you. If you don’t send it to anyone it may mean that you are in such a hurry that you have forgotten your friends.
Take Time To Live.
To all my friends and loved ones, I wish you Enough !
And Pat sent this FUNNY BONE IN!!!
Being a Bible salesman during my college summers, this old joke seems to come to me pretty often. It remains one of my favorites.—CMB
If this doesn’t make you laugh just go ahead and close your casket!!!
A pastor concluded that his church was getting into very serious financial troubles While checking the church storeroom, he discovered several cartons of new bibles that had never been opened and distributed.
So at his Sunday sermon, he asked for three volunteers from the congregation who would be willing to sell the bibles door-to-door for $10
each to raise the desperately needed money for the church.
Jack, Paul and Louie all raised their hands to volunteer for the task.
The minister knew that Jack and Paul earned their living as salesmen and were likely capable of selling some bibles. But he had serious doubts about
Louie who was a local farmer, who had always kept to himself because he was embarrassed by his speech impediment. Poor Louie stuttered badly. But, NOT WANTING TO discourage Louie, the minister decided to let him try anyway.
He sent the three of them away with the back seat of their cars stacked with bibles. He asked them to meet with him and report the results of their
door-to-door selling efforts the following Sunday.
Anxious to find out how successful they were, the minister immediately asked Jack, “Well, Jack, how did you make out selling our bibles last week? “Proudly handing the reverend an envelope, Jack replied, “Using my sales prowess, I was able to sell 20 bibles, and here’s the $200 I collected on behalf of the church.”
“Fine job, Jack!”, the minister said, vigorously shaking his hand. “You are indeed a fine salesman and the Church is indebted to you.”Turning to Paul, “And Paul, how many bibles did you sell for the Church last week? “Paul, smiling and sticking out his chest, confidently replied, “I am a professional salesman. I sold 28 bibles on behalf of the church, and here’s $280 I collected. “The minister responded, “That’s absolutely splendid, Paul. You are truly a professional salesman and the church is indebted to you.”
Apprehensively, the minister turned to Louie and said, “And Louie, did you manage to sell any bibles last week?” Louie silently offered the minister a large envelope. The minister opened it and counted the contents. “What is this?. Louie, there’s $3,200 in here! Are you suggesting that you sold 320 bibles for the church, door to door, in just one week? “Louie just nodded. That’s impossible!” both Jack and Paul said in unison. “We are professional salesmen, yet you claim to have sold 10 times as many bibles as we could.” “Yes, this does seem unlikely,” the minister! agreed. “I think you’d better explain how you managed to accomplish this, Louie.”
Louie shrugged. “I-I-I re-re-really do-do-don’t ken-ken-know bf-bf-bf-for ash-ash-ash-sure,” he stammered. Impatiently, Peter interrupted. “For crying out loud, Louie, just tell us what you said to them when they answered the door! A-a-a-all I-I-I S-S-said WA-WA-was,” Louis replied, “W-Mw-Mw-Mw-would ay-ay-ay-you Al-Al-Al-Al-Al-like T-T-to B-B-B-buy nth-nth-nth-this B-B-B-B-bible bf-bf-for T-T-ten B-B-B-bucks ——O-O-O-or——– Iwo-Iwo-would yo-you DJ-DJ-DJ-just Al-like am-am-me T-T-to St-St-stand Rh-Rh-here and R-R-R-R-R-read it T-to ay-ay-you??”
Remember when the funniest jokes were the clean ones? They still are!
A cheerful heart is good medicine…May you always
Let us pray……
Lord, let us soak in that Your Call means to us, Everyone, everywhere, and in everything, in Jesus name, AMEN!

Sunday AM CUP with Dewey KKIM/DDC
Dear KKIM/KARS Family
May the Strength, Peace and Wisdom of our Lord be with You and Yours for ever and ever.
When being asked to make decisions……….make sure the LORD is at the TOP of that decision.
My walk with the Lord now is so close that I hear HIM say STOP! Pray on this. My Son, think this through.
Too many times we march ahead and draw a line in the sand and say let’s make a decision by this date.
That date may mean nothing to the Lord.
You may think that you have to make a decision because so and so needs to know by Monday. Do not let man’s circumstances drive your decisions.
Let the Lord speak to you……………Let the Lord move or not move……….
That is one of the greatest GIFTS our LORD has given us…….to lead our lives.
This is a hot button with me because when I did not walk close to the Lord I made too many decisions by myself.
When we surrounded ourselves completely to the LORD that all is decided, we just need to listen.
AMEN!!! AMEN!!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!
Just one more thing………this is another reason to have the Body of Christ around you………top help you listen and pray…….and pray with you.
“Do not merely listen to the word, and so deceive yourselves. Do what it says” James 1:22
“If you obey my commands you will remain in my love, just as I have obeyed my Father’s commands and remain in his love” John 15:10
Be still, and know that I am God Psalm 46:10
