Dear KKIM/KARS family, Let us and serve our Lord today! Let us be all about our Father’s Business, this day and all days!!!! My last day of vacation today………gotta finish my honey dew list! LOL! Some things to chew on……….. When I was in La Crosse, Wisconsin visiting Daryl..I wanted to take him out to a good steak dinner……..I asked him where do you get a good steak……he said, “Outback”.I said no…a really good steak by a Mom and Pop place………every town has them…….. I asked the young clerk at the Hotel desk if they had a Mom and Pop Steak house in Town……..and she thought “Mom and Pop” was a new steak house chain!!!!!!!!! See what happens when you get old…….LOL! Young people don’t know what a Mom and Pop business is…….We love the High Country in Chama, NM for a good steak……..beef right off the area ranch’s! I miss Mom and Pop restaurants, grocery stores, etc…..Wal Mart has really destroyed Mom and Pop businesses all over America……They really are a City in itself…what used to be a Town Square…..Downtown area with Mom and Pop businesses are now all inside these big Wal-marts…..they have hurt communities more than helped..they helped tear apart the small town fabric that helped keep America together. Sharon and I try so hard to support local businesses. It’s just like consolidation of Schools in Minnesota, Montana and other states……..Small Schools are best…..local roots are best…….we lose much when we take schools out of small communities. Local accountability. Look at Albuquerque………big Public School system and big failure! Why can’t we see what we are doing as a nation is wrong? It’s not working! We cannot continue to just throw money at problems………that is always the first thing out of a Politicians mouth when Schools are mentioned more money! NO! Wrong! Over the last several years we have watched the fabric of our homes, communities, schools be torn apart. And it seems to me the only answer Politicians have is spend more money! Nonsense! This seems to fit………… The words of Howard Hendricks………. I have never met anyone who planned on having a mediocre life, but I have met plenty of mediocre people. Yesterday I shared with you some thoughts from one of the Greatest Preachers of all-time, Charles Spurgeon……… Here’s one more thing from Spurgeon to remember…….. “I often hear it said “Do not bring religion into politics.” This is precisely where it ought to be brought….We have had enough of clever men without conscience. Now let us see what honest, God-fearing men will do.” AMEN AMEN to that! We are called by the ALMIGHTY to be the Salt and Light of the World…if not us who? Who are you? Really…..who are you? What is your passion? What drives you? have you really sat down of late and answered the question, who are you for God? Are you about our Father’s Business? What you love is seen in your passions, your purpose, your priorities, and your values. The love Jesus spoke of involved “heart and…….soul and……mind” Matt 22:37 A love that goes beyond emotion and involves action, rationale, and intellect. Whom you love includes the people in your life and God. Understanding your loves is foundational for living a Godly life. Yesterday we posted this: Every adventure begins when we say yes….No adventure has ever started with the words “I think I’ll pass on this one” or “Call me next month when my schedule lightens up” There are more people who prefer to say “Yes,” and there are people who prefer to say “No.” Those who say “yes” are rewarded by the adventures they have, and those who say “No” are rewarded by the safety they attain. by Keith Johnstone Then Linda sent this: PRAISE GOD For GOD’s GLORY ALONE!! This is SO True! About 13 years ago, God placed it on my heart to sponsor children through a non-denominational Christian organization called Compassion International based in Colorado. From the moment I said, “Yes”, my life was never the same. Little did I know that my “Yes” meant more than just sending money and letters to assist with the physical and spiritual needs of the children. I was able to actually visit their countries and spend precious time with them. During my 4 trips to Bolivia and my 2 trips to India, I have witnessed the warm and gentle ways of the poor and have grown in my own faith and love for The Lord. Saying “Yes” to Jesus is always an adventure and a transformation of the heart. May God bless you on your daily adventure! Linda Patton Karen Rowe who is on KKIM Thursdays at 2:45pm also enjoyed the comments by Keith Johnstone and also had some AWESOME comments about Shona’s and Shonda’s seminar yesterday……….. Right on target! Today I listened in to Shona and Shonda and was really moved by the encouragement to volunteer to speak…not just in churches, but at other events! I can’t even tell you how God has been speaking to my heart on this and in ways that I had never thought about! What a strength and a courage that I sense building in me! I believe that God will provide opportunities and I sense God inside telling me that I’ll be ready to say yes if asked; and I’ll be ready to volunteer and say yes to God when led! Also, I think back to when you 1st asked me to write for DDC…way back when (before I even considered such an opportunity)…I was just recognizing a writing desire that God had put on my heart, but I had not seen what God could do yet! Even with the book that I am working toward the finish line with right now, I didn’t have the courage to share yet…Looking back, writing for DDC was training ground for me and I thank you for that opportunity! I knew that I had to allow God in me to say yes that day! A yes just humbly came out of the most inner me that knows it was good in God’s eyes to say yes! Even though I had doubts in me, I had confidence in God! I have watched God magnify what he has began and it all started with one simple yes…that 1st step of obedience with nothing more than a knowledge of who Jesus is and a love and trust in God! FAITH God Bless you for what you did that day! I have written about this in the book! God has already magnified that yes into a ministry that has just barely begun, but with a power just barely seen…I do small things, but God is the one who magnifies everything to his glory! To God be the glory, not me…all we have to do is say yes and walk with God! I will say that God has never left me standing empty handed! The times that I have shared my testimony in church…nervous as I was…God gave the words and HIS spirit took over! All I had to do with those times is just say yes to an opportunity to speak what God wanted said! What a privilege! It’s easier on the nerves…maybe??? But walking away from a calling from God is a lot harder! That yes, says to God, I believe that God can do great things. Truly, God has used my weaknesses to teach me his strength! I would have missed it all if I hadn’t said yes. Even with the book, I said, okay, God, if you really want me to write this book, I will get a pencil and a piece of paper…and that is how the book began! Anyway, just felt compelled to share! I’ve been enjoying the afternoon with my son in the pool and now dinner’s cooking and need to make a quick trip to the bank! Also… It is so awesome that Daryl is experiencing the love of God in such a moving way! Prayers to God are powerful and effective in a heart that will receive God’s love! Lot’s of praises to God!!! . Love in Christ (not just words…but an experience) Karen Nina also enjoyed the work of Shona and Shonda…….. Dewey, just wanted to personally thank you for the referral on the writing webinar. I attended and found it very beneficial. Blessings and Peace….Nina and we have these prayer needs………. Let us keep Ryan Freeman and his lovely wife to be Stephanie in our prayers as they prepare to marry this Saturday! Ryan is our KKIM/KARS Ministry Rep. May God Bless Ryan and Stephanie. I have not received an update on Roger’s condition…we were alerted by pastor Jim Montoya yesterday that Roger had suffered a heart attack. Here is that email…….. SE called me while I was traveling from La Crosse Wisconsin to Mpls, Minn and was asking for prayer for her trip…She is based here in Albuquerque and has been on KKIM often with me. We will be having SE on our TV program soon. SE Coleman’s home Church is Heights Christian Church. Please keep her in your prayers……. FINALLY to a computer!! HERE IN GUATEMALA!! Hallelujah!! Just kept my Mexican visa and car papers, didn’t even speak to official, just drove on into Guatemala and it WAS a piece of cake! Just a long drive through rock slides and mud for some hours to get here! THANKS TO ALL WHO PRAYED!!!! SE From Bill Redmond……. “The church is unprepared…” Roe V. Wade caught the church unprepared in 1973. While some churches slept, millions of innocent humans lost their lives. It appears that the church is still unprepared! Most Christians and yes, many pastors do not understand the direct link between attempts to redefine marriage in our state of New Mexico and loss of liberty, not just religious liberty, but liberty for all. Please click on the link below, “Hit the Streets for Marriage”. Chuck Colson will discuss the importance of the church waking up and fighting for a Biblical view of marriage. There are only 6 days left to register for the 2010 New Mexico Biblical World View Conference. This year’s conference theme is “The Manhattan Declaration”. Don’t get caught unprepared and don’t let your pastor or church get caught unprepared. While some pastors and churches are sleeping, powerful forces outside New Mexico have been working hard and spending millions of dollars to make our home, New Mexico, a same-sex marriage state. I believe our home, where our children and grandchildren live, is worth fighting for. We will lose this battle unless we get prepared. Please be sure to come and bring your pastor. Congressman Bill Redmond, Retired Hit the Streets for Marriage To Register Click Here Please forward this message to members of your church and friends. Here is an upcoming event for Men………. Dewey; Please consider the following public service announcement for Men’s Fraternity that is starting the first week in September. Thank you for your ministry. In Christ, -Steve LeTourneau Men’s Fraternity: The Quest for Authentic Manhood is starting September 9th at Center City Evangelical Free Church. This 24-session study focuses on a man’s core identity and is designed to engage the heart as well as the mind, stripping away the myths of manhood, and focusing on how each individual can be transformed into a true man of God.
