Let us pray for our Dear friend Paul Dokken, his is receiving treatment for his heart, but ya’ know what? Hi Dewey: Thanks for your message!
Just dropped a book in the mail for you. I know you have plenty to read already. If the Spirit so leads you, please enjoy. Please don’t feel any pressure though. I have no expectations. Richard Twiss is the author and a friend of mine. He grew up on the Rosebud Res until about 9 yrs old. His Mom took the family away and he was raised in white schools. God has put him in some very unique life circumstances that have molded him into a person that Native Americans will listen to. As a young man he was at the Washington Treasury building takeover with Dennis Banks, Russell Means, and the rest of the AIM crowd. However, he became a Christian in his early twenties and became involved with the Jesus movement in the early 70’s. Lived in a Christian commune, the whole nine yards. Eventually, he became an evangelical pastor and pastored a fairly large white church in Vancouver. He felt the Spirit was leading him into Native American ministries. He and his wife began an organization called Wiconi (meaning life in Lakota). They minister to indigenous people all over the world encouraging them to worship Jesus using there own cultural traditions. His travels take him to natives in New Zealand, the reindeer people in Finland, South Africa, Afghanistan, you name it. He has a worldview that I frequently do not agree with. Politically we look at the world very differently, but we both have as a driving focus, the desire to see people know Jesus. He is however, a charismatic guy who is comfortable on the reservation, speaking with US Senators, or appearing on Trinity Broadcasting. Also, Richard is finishing his doctorate this year. The Spirit prompted me to send you this book when I saw he was attending the Tribal Prayer breakfast in New Mexico this November. I hope you enjoy the read.
On another note, I had my cardiology appointment yesterday. The doctor gave me some meds to control my heartbeat. He said about 60-70% will be helped by this. If this doesn’t work out, surgery is probably in order. About another 60-70% will be helped by this. In the mean time I am not allowed to fly by the FAA. I appreciate any prayers to help my heart beat strong and true. In any event I know this situation has been ordained through all time and that God has a plan for my life. No matter what any cardiologist says the Lord will not take me one day earlier or later than what He has planned.
Take care Dewey,
God Bless,
Paul
Thank you Paul my Dear brother for your note..we are praying for you. Why don’t we all just stop now and thank the Good Lord for all of our relationships! Paul and I were never really close back in Windom, but through that connection and the Lord we have grown closer than ever!! PRAISE GOD!!! Who you are meeting today and working with…….may be so important in the future……..do not discount those you meet………..do not quickly dismiss people…….The Lord may have plans……..
One more thing on relationships…..When I tell some folks this…..they look at me and don’t know what to say at first…but then laugh with me in agreement……there is nothing like an honest, open conversation……one that is CLEAN from sin and lies…….we as the Body of Christ cannot afford anything else, but honesty in our relationships and conversations……
Laughter heals……….laughter promotes good health……..and is so good for the mind and soul! When is the last time you had a good laugh? I have always admired Sandy Harrington (Thursdays KKIM/KARS at 3:30) because she always has such a smile on and his happy and laughing…..she enjoys her walk with the Lord. Last night Greg and Natasha were over for a visit and Sharon and I enjoyed their visit so much it was full of laughter and love. Good CLEAN fun and laughter! Christians can have fun too!!!! Good CLEAN fun.It seems so many laugh and have fun on the dark side…….
Now here is a note from one of our Dear, Dear friends Kay Hendrickson of Albuquerque…….who has impacted my life in such a Godly way……..I am so thankful that God had us meet……(Ps is it not such a blessing to have friends of KKIM/KARS and the CUP all over the World!!!!WOW! WOW!)
Good Morning Dewey,
We are praying for Pastor Franks and for Andrea. And we pray for you also. Our prayer group is still very strong and each one is so faithful. I am humbled by their perseverance and the deep love they all have for Christ. I feel the same about you and Pastor Mark as I listen to you each day.

WOW! I am writing you and just giving thanks to our Lord for HIS WORD…….I also am sitting here thinking of what Oswald Chambers said from time to time….he loved his books…..of course his favorite book was the Bible..but he had many other great resources……..I am the same I love my books written by Godly people! You are what you read ya’ know! Absorb that Bible today……start reading!
I have handed out a lot of books of late………Just trying to motivate folks to read……
H.A. Ironside 1876-1951 an internationally recognized Bible Teacher, author, and preacher, wrote in his commentary I and II Timothy, Titus and Philemon: “The Bible does not deal with one great subject only; neither does it speak to just one class of people. So as we study the Word, it is always important to ask, as we read: For whom was this written? What did God have in mind in giving it? Is it for me? Is it about me, or does it have to do with some other group of His people?” These questions, if always kept in front of you while reading the Bible, will give you greater insights as you read. Ironside captures the essence of daily Bible reading by saying, “Now all scripture is for me, but all Scripture is NOT ABOUT ME.”
I close this with my life’s verse……..
My Life is worth NOTHING unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus. Acts 20:24
What is your life verse? Would you consider sharing it with us?
Let us pray……….Lord we thank you for all of our friends…….may we make more friends for YOU. in the name of Jesus, AMEN!
In the Love of Christ, Dewey Sharon and family
