Dewey's Daily Cup

Dear KKIM/KARS Family, May we RISE today and serve our LORD! May we be all about our Father’s Business!!! We have much to share today!!!……..even a funny bone from Ole in Minnesota!!! Never take your thoughts to the Word of GOD — take your thoughts from the Word of GOD. From The Belt of Truth Amen to that! Wherever the Holy Spirit leads you in the Bible……you will find Word’s of Wisdom just for you……. Franklin Graham writes in his Father’s updated version of “Storm Warning”…….God will bring storms into our lives to warn us of the impending doom for disobedience to His Holy commands; and that God will be our shelter in the time of storm, just as the prophet Isaiah said, “Lord you are a shelter from the storm” (25: 1-4) Franklin continues……..As my Father looks back over his life and contemplates what lies ahead, he senses the uneasiness around the world, he feels the foundation of America crumbling, and he hears the sound of the hoof-beats—perhaps on the fringe of heaven itself. Those are the thoughts of Billy Graham. I have tried to relay here at the Cup and on KKIM/KARS that our foundation is crumbling……the fabric of America is being torn apart…….is this what we want to leave our Children? Is this the legacy we want to leave them? A few more thoughts from Billy Graham………. As we hope and pray for peace and for new opportunities for prosperity, we are constantly confronted by the realities of longstanding and tangled problems and conflicts. While government takeovers of American industry and banking should cause us great concern, nothing should burden our hearts more than the outrageous immorality that is WELCOMNED into our homes and minds around the world via TV and the Internet! Should we be surprised that our nation——and the world——has come to this? When we see corruption at every level of our society (Amen Billy, even our local officials, Local non-profits……Church’s … .it’s all over America) and in every sector of public life, can anyone expect to continue in the mistaken belief that humanity is somehow perfectible without the intervention of God? AMEN! I miss so much having Billy preach every week on his program Hour of Decision, even thou we get repeats……There will never be another Billy! American Society has left the Barn Door Open for every EVIL thing to come into our society and we are paying for it dearly!!! And now we have Ministries cutting back!!!! How can Ministries cut back resources to God’s people when we are in THESE TIMES? When Ministries cutback in these tough times, what do we expect???? My prayer is that Ministries have the Boldness in Christ to march on and serve! This is not the time for God’s people to retreat…….When the times get tough, the tough get going! I for one have decided that I am working more hours for the Lord, not less, at our Ministry here at the CUP, KKIM/KARS, we are working more……to serve..because the need is greater than ever and will get greater, not less. Even Billy Graham in his 90’s and not in the best of health is praying that he preaches one more time! I don’t know if we American’s know what tough times are. I don’t know if Ministries know what tough times are…….In talking to my neighbor Oscar, who served this Country in the Navy, we were talking about America’s Greatest generation, the WWII generation, Many Americans do not realize the sacrifices that these Great People made for our Country! And look what we have done to the Country that they risked or lost their lives for! These folks lived in the depression. Many Americans do not even know what the Depression was! We are now a Spiritually Depressed Country and it is our fault! So now is not the time to cutback, it is the time to be BOLD! Last night I watched a movie of when the Nazi’s were fighting in the Soviet Union and how the Soviets, many living underground were still fighting for their Country! The situation we the Church, and America is in, calls for BOLDNESS, calls for getting our hands dirty! Digging in dirt to reach others for Christ, Digging out the evil in our society! I am sorry if this sounds extreme to you….but it is what the Lord put on my heart to share today. Send me your thoughts please…….. I suggest everyone of you get a copy of Billy Graham’s book, Storm Warning, the updated version. Here is a quote from A.W. Tozer that fits so well……… The World is waiting to hear an authentic voice, a voice from God—–not an echo, of what others are doing and saying, but an authentic voice.” The second book I am going to recommend this morning is Chuck Swindoll’s book, “The Church Awakening” An urgent call for Renewal! We need Revival in this Country! Without Revival we are dead ducks! Let’s get to the mailbag…………Sharon and I love to hear from you all! Dear Dewey, When you asked to pray for Pastor Navarre I rejoiced. Just the other day I was remembering how Ministers used to travel around with the ‘Big tents and have revivals. And thought What a Great time to do that again. People in America are experiencing a Revival of God’s Grace. I saw that watching the Lincoln Memorial 8/28 gathering with Glenn Beck and all those Ministers of different faiths gather together on stage. Our Lord is doing something here in the US, and I Know it is to His Good. Bless Pastor Navarre for sharing in that Revival. And YOU for your obedience to it also! Last week-end I was blessed by going camping with my children. And on the way home I was just meditating on Me. The older I get Dewey, the more I realize that I Know Only ONE thing for Sure. That God is the only Truth in the World. His being, His Love, His Mercy are the only things I know for certain. HE is the only thing that will bring America out of our distress. His Mercy is there for our claiming. HIS Word is the only Knowledge worth learning. And HIS Grace is all we need. Bless you this day, sincerely, sam You are a True Gift from God, Sam!
