THIS CUP IS OVERFLOWING KKIM/KARS DDC
“Dialogue”
About a week ago I had an awesome conversation with a bunch of friends of
mine-
I was working on getting my show, “Speakeasy” together for Saturdays at
6pm on KKIM AM 1000 in Albuquerque (listen to it online at
http://www.mykkim.com) and I was having trouble reaching the question
behind all my dialogue and thinkings…
I think I hit on it on my last post-
See there’s this bubble in Christianity these days- and most people are
completely unaware about it- we spend so much time debating over
theological questions and writing books and preaching we forget something
essential to keeping ourselves relevant. You see, many people who grow up
in Christianity, or came to it and are clinging to it for reason in life,
are steeped in what I like to call “the Conversation”- we talk about the
books of the bible- we talk about baptism-only vs praying the prayer- we
talk about fatalism vs free-will; we talk all day long about the end of
the world and about how horrible American morals are…
we have an entire Christian “culture” obsessed with abortion, gay marriage
and sexual purity… and nearly every book, radio show and song grinds the
ax over and over and over again….
Many feel they must go to church or risk eternal damnation.
Many feel if they dont worship with enough fervor God will not love them.
And Many feel that if they dont adhere as perfectly as possible to what
modern “Christian Culture” sermonizes as good and right, they cant know
God or themselves.
All of this goes on behind the minds of most modern-day Christians-
so when they are dogmatically blackmailed via guilt and fear to reach out
to the assumed “sub-human” unchurched- they have no clue how to
communicate with them.
So they come off hardline
or really awkward
and just dont know how to connect
they usually either feel like saints enduring all things for Jesus
or just write off the unsaved as ignorant heathens.
All of this goes back to that awesome conversation i had with a bunch of
(non-Christian gasp!) friends last week:
I asked them, point-blank, what bothered them the most about Christians
and/or Christianity-
and do you know what they said?
they dont like being yelled at about something they have no idea about at
all.
(like going to hell or being “saved”)
they’re usually open to something real
and if you are going to talk about the most sensitive thing about them-
their soul-
it an equally deep insult to just buddy up to them so you can get another
“saved” notch on your Christian belt.
How insincere.
How ignorant.
If you are going to talk to someone about their soul
you have to know them like a brother or better-
you have to walk the extra mile with them
you have to give them your coat and your tunic too.
Because they’re not in on the conversation.
They cant name the books of the bible
they dont care. -when did that ever help them?
They dont care about baptism vs praying-
that has nothing to do with their real lives.
Many have been deeply hurt by the church
and are really angry
and they’re RIGHT to be so!
So when they see your bumper stickers
and cheesy t-shirts,
your tracts and leaflets
it’s just salt in the wound.
You cannot substitute living life, in deep friendship, with someone
for anything else.
Because when you get right down to it- you’re just like they are.
there is no “us” and “them”.
and all your spiritualism is facade if you cant relate to your friend
and help him where he stands.
So re-think your sermons!
Re-word your bumper stickers!
Exchange your cheesy Christian t-shirts
for plain old work clothes.
Try getting in on their conversation for once.
Because if you love God- it will show,
or it wont because you really dont.
You love your Bible translation more.
You love Church more.
You love the moral high ground more.
You like being right more.
And if you dont give up mother
father
brother
and sister
for Jesus
what is it, exactly, that you really have?
…
quit speaking in Christianese-
it’s annoying
and it doesnt work.
Join the conversation-
or dont.
Check out Speakeasy every Saturday night at 6pm mountain time on KKIM
radio for more-
join in
and break the silence.
thanks
God Bless you all.

NEWS MAKERS OF THE DAY:
Pastor Don Kimbro, who is heard every weekday @ 7:30am & pm here on KKIM, with his Nuggets of Truth Radio Broadcast, joined us this afternoon and introduced us to Pastor Phillip Sod, from Haifa, Israel, who happens to be an Arab Christian. “We have weapons that are Spiritual,” Pastor Phil stated, “America should wake up! America will not allow Israel to be abandoned. All people would love to have a country like America. I have a message for America, I love this country, American Believers must go back to their original Biblical roots, pray for Revival and come back to God.” Regarding immigration, “America needs to be careful, especially with the Middle Eastern people, because they want to change and fight the United States from the inside” and he went on to say, “The Power comes from the pulpit and microphones like yours,” referring to the work we do everyday at KKIM/KARS, “God bless you and America!”
Many Blessings,

Are you fed by the Ministry of KKIM/KARS? Would you consider becoming a Ministry sponsor as an individual, or your business or Church? We pray that you will pray about joining us as we go on BOLDLY FOR CHRIST! Can we count on you?
Right now we are in need of a Ministry Partner in the Plumbing, Heating and Air Conditioning Business. Please email me.
We also need individuals to step forward and sponsor certain programs.
Thank you so much for your consideration and prayers in these matters.
Let us check our prayer needs……….before we do that let us read over the following words…….. Andrew Murray writes in his book…The Inner Life…….. Prayer and the Word are inseparably linked together. Power in the use of either depends upon the presence of the other…….The Word gives me the power to pray, telling me how God would have me come……….And it gives me the answer to prayer, as it teaches what God will do for me……..Prayer seeks with God; the Word reveals God.In prayer we rise to heaven to dwell with God; in the Word God comes to dwell with us.” Good morning, Dewey! Please keep our mom (Marianna) in your prayers. For the past 2 weeks, she and one of her sisters have been on an extended vacation, enjoying the beauty of the western states. Yesterday, she suffered a major stroke in Bakersfield, CA. and has been hospitalized there. Her right side is currently paralyzed and she is not able to speak. Her sister is obviously distraught because they lost another sister to a stroke in 2008 – just 7 months before we lost our dad. I am leaving Kansas City this morning to go out there. My brother, Tom, is still in Mozambique Africa on a Cross International trip. He will be returning this Thursday. (I know that you already keep him in your prayers but please add a few requests for “Traveling Mercies” for the gang as they return.) Thank you for your “Cups of Inspiration” each day! You are a blessing to the family of God! Love ya, man! Robert Lewis We are praying Robert!!
Dewey, I was trying to send you the link to my husband’s grandmother’s obituary. She went home on Sunday, she was 106 years old.
Her name was Eremita Vigil. Please pray for our family.

We our praying for your family! 106 years old! What a blessing! Now we have these notes of honey to the Soul……..There is Chicken Soup for the Soul, here at the CUP we have Letters that our Honey to the Soul………. Kind words are like honey——-sweet to the soul and healthy for the body Proverbs 16:24 Aww Dewey, and Sharon. I have No doubt at all that our Savior is working in this Great Nation. After being soo blessed by the ‘Cup’ this day, I had such a good laugh at ‘Da mule Bessie’ and Ole..” I tink I vould say the tame ting OLE!!!” LOL how very cute! Thank You Sharon for such a good laugh. Dewey, you spoke of all the people that have fought and died for this Country. The best I know, I’ve had Five Uncles from both sides of the family that fought in WWll and some of the stories are just unbelievable. One Uncle fought in three of the biggest fights. He was one of the first American’s to step foot in Japan. He remembers the Ball of fire when the bomb dropped. He was on a Japanese island just off the coast. The youngest is still alive and sharp as a tack. One Uncle though ‘Never spoke of the war, and about a year ago, I was told he was a POW in Germany for awhile. There is no telling what he experienced there. I will never know, but know how very proud I am of my family. One of my Mother’s Brothers woke one morning paralyzed, and was shipped out. That very day his whole platoon were killed. God saved him for a purpose. Not one of my Uncles died during the war. Injured but lived. With their scars! Mental scars. But I have always been so Proud of them all. Being a child it is one of my special memories when any of them would come to visit. They were royalty!! And what a joy it was for me IF I could make them laugh!! 🙂 America has come so far. And will go alot further. We are made up of God Fearing People. And God knows all our hearts. We have fallen asleep tho, but are being awakened. The Lord is doing a wonderous job waking us! Isn’t it amazing to be living in History Making times! This Generation will go down in the History books as the Generation that Did. I’m very proud to be an American. And we ‘Will survive. We have some in this Country now that do not want that to happen. But when you have God on your side, who can be against you? Sincerely, sam Thanks for the words of wisdom Sam! Chris and Eric have this note about our TV program that airs on KAZQ CH 32 Sat at 6pm and Sun at 7pm……..
Shalom Pastor Jim, Dewey, y Raul,
Great “Open Door” program this weekend!
Raul’s testimony of what our L-rd is doing in his, his wife Kelley’s and their sweet daughters’ lives; his testimony just in speaking, of how far his English has come; his great heart for serving our L-rd! We’re always blessed to know that Los Lunas Church of G-d is strong in the L-rd – STRONG in outreach!
Pastor Jim couldn’t smile big enough when he talked about seeing the sign about English Lessons outside a church in Valencia County! Loved to hear him and Raul talk Sister Janet, the English teacher at Los Lunas Church of G-d, saying, “Open your mouth!”
Love and Hugs,
Eric and Chris

Pastor Steve Freeman sent this to us………it is an AWESOME devotional………
Working to the Glory of God An unbelieving friend once told me he thought born again Christians were mediocre workers, as though their loyalties were divided between their faith and their job rather than dedicated solely to career. There is some truth to what he said. As a Christian my highest priority is not career success, but rather God and His glory, and my desire is to please Him. My friend’s observation, although not applying to all Christians, may describe behaviors that result from misconceptions Christians have about secular work. Namely, that the quality of their work has no eternal or lasting value, and that their work is of lesser importance on the scale of meaningful and eternal vocations. This logic further concludes that work is a means to pay the bills and that the only eternal consequences that really matter are getting a chance to share Christ with someone, and to make money to give to ministry. First off, let me say these things are very important and we should be doing them, but there is other spiritual value in the work we do and how we do it. There are many reasons for us to strive to excel at what we do. Here are some principles I try to follow, not only for work but also everyday life. Excellence in our work is good, because it glorifies God. Whether we are processing paperwork, creating new products or processes, or just doing what our boss asks us to do, we should do it to the glory of God, and be quick to give Him the credit. 1 Corinthians 10:31 tells us that whatever we do, we should do to the glory of God. Excellence in our work is good, because we are to work “as unto the Lord”, and we want to do our very best for Him. Colossians 3:23 says, “Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord and not for men…” Excellence in our work is important because we are witnesses and ambassadors for Christ, not only in what we say but also in our actions and attitudes. Outstanding work is a signpost pointing to God because it reflects the goodness and excellence of God’s kingdom. Excellence in our work is important because it utilizes the gifts God has bestowed on us. God gifts us in many different ways. Some are gifted with creative minds, others with analytical minds, some are better at seeing the “big picture”, and others are gifted with working out the details. God gifts us and wants us to find satisfaction in our work. Ecclesiastes 2:24-27 says, “There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? ” As I think of excellence at work, I’m reminded of men and women of faith who excelled at what they did. Joseph brought great profit to Potiphar and later was second in command of Egypt and excelled at it. Daniel excelled at the leadership position God put him in Babylon, while never compromising his faith. In later times William Wilberforce used his God given talents and perseverance in the fight against the slave trade. Henrietta Mears set the gold standard for how Sunday school should be run. Ms. Mears believed every lesson should honor Christ, every teacher should be called, and said, “We must be Christ honoring in all we do.” As we consider excellence, we should always be aware of our motives. For myself, I need to constantly be reminded of the reasons for excellence discussed above, and to make sure I’m not trying to excel for my own ego. I need to constantly remind myself that it’s all about God and not about me, and to remember to give God the credit, for every good gift is from God. I have some of these verses on little cards in my office to remind me daily. My friend John, an inmate in the Federal Prison, used to clean the bathroom for the correctional officers. Although not an enviable job, John told me he took pride in doing the best he could to make the chrome shine and the floors spotless. He said it was always hard on him when he finished up and then someone came in to use the bathroom. As soon as he was done the endless cycle started again. Nonetheless, John never gave up and always kept the bathrooms clean. He told me that is where God put him, and he would do his best for his heavenly Father. Even though I haven’t seen John in a long time, his example still inspires me to do my best for my Heavenly Father. Pat O’Brien
Excellent!!! Thank you Pastor Steve for sharing! WOW! AWESOME! Great stuff! As KKIM/KARS Frank Haley says, “For God’s Glory Alone!” Let us pray……….. Lord, Thank you for this day to serve YOU and YOUR people………Let us seek Your Will as we do our work. In the name of JESUS, AMEN!
