Dewey,

Thank you…As usual your message this morning touched my spirit.  But, this morning it reached a part of my soul that I’ve been trying to keep covered…the grieving part that is in need of His touch.  When I was on your station several weeks ago, you said something to me that resonates in my mind every day.  You told me, “Leslie, you are still healing through this loss and I’ll pray for you…”  And, boy, you couldn’t have hit the mark better.  The pain of what our family has experienced over the past 15 months is something that I haven’t let myself truly feel and grieve through.  I’ve been letting the day-to-day routines of family and work cover what the Lord, and only the Lord, can heal.  I, once again, have to totally submit to him.  I did it when I heard about the horrendous accident that nearly claimed the life of my son.  But, this morning you reminded me, that submitting totally, wholly to Him must be done continually.

Thank you.  You are a true brother and friend.  You and your family are such a special part of our lives and we love you very much.  I pray that your journey through your grief is filled with the peace and joy that God alone provides.  Thank you for doing what a lot of my closest friends haven’t (not because they don’t care, but because they don’t really see it as an issue).  God bless you my friend.

 I Am praying for you and for Sharon’s health Dewey. Grief is a humbling thing. But time does heal. And as the time goes by it gets easier and easier to Remember the Blessed days you’ve spent with the person you are grieving than the pain of their passing. That pain may never go completely away, but it does get better.

 My Mother is always the one I think of when I hear of the Grieving process. She lost her Mother at 12 yrs old, and took over raising her smaller sister and brothers. Then after getting married she lost her second son when he was only two. Several close family members of hers died. But when she lost her oldest son, just a few years before losing her husband. It was the worst. When my brother returned from serving in the Air Force in Japan at 23 yrs old. He had Bone Cancer. And the three years it took for him to succumb to the disease I watched my Mothers heart break. He was 11 years older than I but I remember the horrific pain he suffered.
Her faith brought her thru the horrible times she suffered, and she always gave the credit to God the Father for her surviving her losses and trials. But not until I experienced loss in my after growing up, did I truly appreciate my Mothers Faith and endurance. She Never quit doing her job as a Mother, She never neglected her other children when she lost her oldest son. She would just disappear for a little while, and now I know to where.. She would retreat to ‘Her Closet’ to Pray. And when she came out, she was Mom again, the Strong, Wonderful Woman that was Always there for me, or anyone. No Matter What.

 I still Grieve her death of four years ago. But I know where she is, and I know I’ll be seeing her soon.. much love, Bless you, sam

It is right for the Body of Christ to share with each other.

When we are vulnerable with others, we heal, grow.etc……

Too many people keep things inside them that kill’s them going forward…hold’s them back……..by sharing, we release it…….we help others………we gain freedom.

For who has known or understood the mind (the counsels and purposes) of the Lord so as to guide and instruct Him and give Him knowledge? But we have the mind of Christ and do hold the thoughts (feelings and purposes) of His heart. 1 Cor 2:16

If we want to follow in the footsteps of Jesus Christ then we must begin to think as he did.

The Bible tells us that we have the mind of Christ—-and a new heart and spirit.

A new heart will I give you and a new spirit will I put within you, and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh and give you a heart of flesh.

And I will put my Spirit within you and cause you to walk in My statues, and you shall heed My ordinances and do them. Ezekiel 36: 26,27

Yesterday we talked about being Barnabas like…….

Yesterday I had a Pastor say to me that I have been counseling….”I wish I had never been born!!!!”

Yes, that is what he said……..This Godly man is broken down and now is being built back up.

This Pastor has suffered from rejection in many ways…….This Pastor grew up without his father present in his life. His father still lives to this day but doesn’t have anything to do with him. I am counseling many in this same situation that they have no relationship with their Dad or Mother or both, then we wonder why our Society has broken down.

We the Body of Christ must be Barnabas like……. and surround these people………

I bring this up to show that yes, Pastor’s have extreme challenges also. After over a year of counseling this finally came out yesterday. All the rotten, stinking garbage really came out yesterday! PRAISE GOD!!!

This Pastor has felt the rejection of his Dad, congregation, elders, and many others.

I Praise God for this release of stinking garbage….many Pastor’s hold it in…….many of us do, and it prohibits us from moving forward in the work we are to be doing for the Lord.

It takes great faith to let it all fly out and share your pain with others…….if we keep it stored up it will kill us. It is like poison stored in the body that starts to eat away at your heart and soul.

I bring up Barnabas again……where were they?  Barnabas like people? Or maybe they were there and Pastor brushed them off………at the top of this posting we posted scripture on leadership, 2 is better than 1.

One of the things we really encourage here at the CUP is making yourself vulnerable in the Lord and to the Body of Christ.

I am always sadden when I hear that someone is going through a challenge and they do not even ask for prayer! They keep it all to themselves.

By opening up, you give the Body of Christ the opportunity to prayer for you and yours…..

Do not store up hurts and anger…..they turn to poison!

We are here to serve you……..

I am continuing my counseling with the Pastor, God is with us and doing great works……..Once again I use this story to encourage you…….to also encourage you to know, yes Pastor’s have struggles to…….and by the way, How is your Pastor doing?

Just one more thing on this………I was talking to Pastor Alan Hawkins yesterday……..how come we as the Body of Christ ignore problems within the Body of Christ and are afraid to confront them? We do it in our families and at our work place.

We will leave that to you to answer………….

We are praying that those that come to Church this Easter Sunday will not just be an Easter Lilly, then a Christmas Poinsettia, then an Easter Lilly, then a Christmas Poinsettia, we pray that they will give their life to Jesus Christ…….their whole life…….
