A just-God Jesus could make us but not understand us. A just-man Jesus could love us but never save us. But a God-man Jesus? Near enough to touch. Strong enough to trust.

As I said I am up earlier today to spend time with our Lord and you..It is so important for me to do this in my Walk with Jesus Christ…..to spend time in the Word and with Him……and then share with you…….Let me share with you how Charles Stanley stresses our time with God in the morning…..this is what the CUP is all about……..I Praise God you are with us each day!!!!

As God instructed Joshua about how the Israelites would take possession of the Promised Land, He included a vital instruction: to meditate on His law day and night and to obey everything it said. This would guarantee success.

Meditation is still crucial for believers today. In our culture, we are inundated by worldly values and godless priorities. Unless we guard our hearts, they will slowly begin to accept these unrighteous standards.

Therefore, we should discipline ourselves to meditate daily upon God’s Word, focusing our attention on His character and His ways. This involves prayerfully reading Scripture, being silent before the Lord so we can hear from Him, and applying biblical truth to our lives.

Of course, these things don’t just happen. Distractions take away from our ability to focus, so it is necessary to set aside a time when we can be still and listen. Consider the benefits of doing so. Meditation . . .

• Quiets our spirit and provides an avenue for God to purify our hearts.

• Develops a hunger for the Word so we can gain deeper understanding of Jesus and greater sense of His power.

• Improves our discernment about direction for our lives.

• Sharpens our awareness of His presence.

Meditation may involve a small sacrifice of rising earlier or giving up free time during the day. But living a Christ-centered life filled with peace and joy depends upon our commitment to focus our minds and hearts on Him regularly. Are you willing to discipline yourself to set aside time each day?

You can hear Charles Stanley weekdays at 8am on KKIM.  My favorite time of day is in the morning with our Lord and a CUP of coffee and then writing to you each day here at the CUP and then talking to you everyday on the radio at 4:30!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!

The director of the FBI, J. Edgar Hoover, died MAY 2, 1972.

For 48 years, under eight Presidents, J. Edgar Hoover oversaw the

Federal Bureau of Investigation, becoming famous for his dramatic

campaigns to stop gangsters and organized crime.

Hoover established the use of fingerprints in law enforcement and

successfully tracked down well-known criminals.

FDR gave Hoover the task of investigating foreign espionage and

left-wing activist groups.

J. Edgar Hoover stated:

“The criminal is the product of spiritual starvation. Someone failed

miserably to bring him to know God, love Him and serve Him.”

In the introduction to Edward L.R. Elson’s book, America’s Spiritual

Recovery, 1954, J. Edgar Hoover wrote:

“We can see all too clearly the devastating effects of Secularism on

our Christian way of life.

The period when it was smart to ‘debunk’ our traditions

undermined…high standards of conduct.

A rising emphasis on materialism caused a decline of ‘God-centered’

deeds and thoughts.”

J. Edgar Hoover continued:

“The American home…ceased to be a school of moral and spiritual

education.

When spiritual guidance is at a low ebb, moral principles are in a

state of deterioration.

Secularism advances when men forget God.”

When I first got the news alert……it read like this………..

The White House says President Obama is making a late-night statement but is not announcing the topic that he will discuss. Officials say the statement could come as early as 10:30 p.m.

We subscribe to the Washington Post News Alerts as they are very fast…….

In all my years I cannot remember ever getting a bulletin like that where the President is going address the nation and does not give a preview of what he is going to talk about……..so my mind wandered as to what he may be speaking about……..Japan? Someone’s death? A Military tragedy in Iraq or Afghanistan?

Frank Haley and some others may correct me on this but the last time a President called for a live address to the American People and not tell us what it was about was when JFK dealt with the Cuban Missile Crises.

Then moments later came the news…….

Osama bin Laden has been killed in a CIA operation in Pakistan, President Obama will announce from the White House, according to multiple sources.

 I was first in shock…then got a text from Frank Haley………….Then I got more text messages……..Randy Thom told me to watch the explosion of messages on Facebook…….WOW! .The new way for American’s to express themselves………I think it really hit me when people gathered outside the White House and started chanting USA, USA, USA!!!

I got a text from former Marine Randy Thom saying that brought him to tears and Randy said that this is the news our troops needed at this time.

I think this is just part of the news America needed to hear…a shot in the arm…….but if only used correctly.

I was very proud of President Obama on how he delivered the message, sternly, but with compassion to the families who lost loved ones on 9/11.

It has been almost 10 years since 9/11 and our Country changed so much after the attacks, and we have never recovered. We are a tired nation….frayed to the core…….

Maybe this is a start to recovery???

David Gergen, who has worked for Four United States Presidents, the first was President Nixon, Gergen said the following last night on CNN……….and I am paraphrasing here……..

Bin laden was the most hated man in America since Hitler……

It’s been a long 10 years for America……we have had no Military victories in this war….this is the first………in 10 years…..

The 9/11 attacks changed America, we have had such a hard time since everything from Airport security to our economy……..

Gergen also said he was thankful President Obama admitted we have become a bit frayed as a  nation.(I think more than a bit)….and that he along with the President hoped the killing of Bin Laden would help reunite the Country.

Good observations by Gergen.

We became a united Country after 9/11 but that did not last.

Will it this time?

9/11 was such a turning point in American history……we have gone down hill since then in many areas.

We are a divided nation. No doubt.

I am very thankful for the US Military and Intelligence Agencies, these people put their lives on the line everyday for us.

I have met with two former US Military Intelligence Officers of late, and they tell me everyday the US Military is doing work that we, the average citizens never hear about, but they are out there everyday protecting us. I am so ever grateful for their service.

With the National Day of Prayer coming up, my Prayer is that American’s will seek repentance from our Lord for our sins…….You see we are a Nation that is celebrating the death of Bin Laden, but let us remember we allow the killing of the unborn everyday in this Country.

There still is much work to be done.

Let us be in prayer………..

I remember a simpler time………..when May 1st came about the boys used to give the girls May Day basket’s and the girls would chase us to kiss us after we gave them a basket!!!!!

Those are great memories……….

 I am thankful for a wonderful Church Service yesterday…….a wonderful time also with KKIM/KARS Ministry sponsor John Belew of Santa Fe……WOW! And a  great Godly conversation  with Prayer Warrior Sandra! HOW AWESOME!!! Thank you LORD!!!!!!!!
