Flag Day is not only a very special day in America, it will always be special for me as Flag Day is the day my Dad, Wally Moede was born on. My Dad one year bought me my first new bicycle on his birthday, that is the kind of Dad I had, always giving to others, even on his birthday, that is one of my favorite stories. That taught me a valuable lesson, to always be giving, even on a day when traditionally we are to receive, keep giving. That was my Dad, he made a lifetime of giving and sacrificing. I am now 55 years old and those lessons have stuck with me to this day, and that it was one of the main reason I keep going, as my Dad always told me to keep going with both barrels……you see my Dad grew up in extreme poverty, he never had many of what would be considered the basic things in life. he grew up in a family of 13 kids. A family of Godly love, but they never had money, even thou Grandpa Chris worked hard and then he died when my Dad was just 13. Grandma Moede did the best she could at this point and the older kids, like Uncle Joe helped take charge of the family. Many kids are growing up without the Godly role model’s I had…….so they do not have the foundation, in fact they will at first look at me, at least some of them, that I am talking Greek to them, a foreign language to them, when I am talking about role models, and how I grew up. I wish I could take many men back to my days in Windom, and show them how I was raised up by Mom and Dad and entire community of love. I come from a Town where in the 50’s, 60’s and 70’s it was a community effort from the Mayor, to the Sunday School Teacher, to the Shop owners that helped keep an eye on us kid’s. That is so valuable. Not many can relate to that anymore. Someone told me once, “Dewey sounds like you grew up in Mayberry!!! “(Andy Griffith show) I believe that is where my foundation was built to love my God, God’s people. Also a special love for small communities, small Church’s, farm country, earthly people, the smaller things in life. What appears to be big for other’s, in many cases, is small to me. I was taught, one at a time……one person has my attention that is all I need to focus on at the time, not the masses. I will never forget when I was home for Dad’s funeral, we heard a car drive up in front of the house, and a little boy on crutches with his Dad started to come up the walk, he was one of the disabled children that Dad took special care of and made sure he got on the right bus each day, (Dad was transportation Dir. for the Schools) anyhow this little boy asked me when I opened the door if he could have one of Wally’s hat’s!!! He just wanted one of Dad’s hat’s that he wore, Dad always wore what would be called ball hats, like the guys wear now, that is the kind of impact my Dad had on children. My Dad focused on this little boy everyday…..as an individual……. Thank you for allowing me to share about the impact my Dad had on me and many other’s, Dad was born on June 14th 1927 and went home to the Lord the week he retired on April 19th, 1992 Easter morning that year. Just a final note on that, My Dad and the other Man who impacted my life so, Uncle Joe Moede, I am now crying as I type this, Oh Lord thank you for my Dad and Uncle Joe, …………..They both grew up as I say in poverty, many years without their Dad who died young, and also went through the Great Depression and WWII. They both grew up in a Christian home. They became stronger through all that, not weaker, never used it as an excuse. So what are we complaining about? I am sharing with you this morning from my heart my friends. Thank you so much for allowing me to do so…….My heart is burdened for all those leaving their homes because of the fires, last night on New Mexico News and Views the fire in Raton, NM had gone to about 7,000 acres and many people were being evacuated from their homes and one witness said, “Trees are exploding” Then as I was ending the news, we got word of another fire, around 500 acres near Carlsbad Caverns. Resources are being spread so thin here in New Mexico, firefighters from our City and County are now headed to the Raton Fire. Officials have said what has happened in Arizona could happen here in New Mexico because of extreme drought, we are already seeing part of that in Raton. Please constantly pray for Rain. Many of our firefighters are just plain tired, let us not take them for granted. Be not afraid to trust God utterly. As you go down the long corridor of life you find that He has preceded you and locked many doors which would you and I would have entered; but be sure that beyond those that have been locked are those the He has left unlocked. Open it and enter, and you will find yourself face to face with a bend of the river of opportunity, broader and deeper than anything you dared to imagine in your sunniest dreams. Launch forth on it. When God prepares us for a life for Him, He includes what we would rather omit—–a period of silence, a time of waiting…….oh yes, it could be 9 years or more or less…….I waited 9 years for the KKIM job to happen, 9 years! The second thing is God makes us wait, hiding us under his shadow, He shows us we’re not indispensable. That makes us humble. One major reason the Lord removes us and has us wait is to remind us we are not the star attraction! I am just a humble servant of my Lord or as James described himself, a slave to Jesus. James was a humble servant but he was known as a leader also. Yesterday I did my best to humbly describe to you the healing of the lady in the wheel chair, it was hard at first to tell the story, but the story must be told for God’s Glory alone…..I did not heal that lady, the Lord is the one and only and we need to tell that to others. Many will discount that story because many so called Christian leaders have messed that all up. God heals, not men. God hides us way at times and reveals new dimensions of Himself and new insights regarding our lives. That makes us deep, and we are living in a time where many people are so shallow. God gives us deepness in Him. Many Christian are shallow in their belief. How deep are you? What we need right now, is we need not smarter people……not busier people….in the Church and in America…..we need deeper people in our Lord. That is the difference, that will turn our Country around for God. We have to many educated fools in this Country and not enough deep people in our Lord, where they swim with the Lord every second of their day. Who do you swim with everyday in your thoughts? God deepens us through time spent waiting on Him. When God finally uses us, it comes at a time when we least expect it! I know, I know!!! I have been through all this…..and am still going through it. I get a kick out of Christians that say… I think God is taking me here, and I am going to get this job, and I am going to do this..and I am going here and there.and God is going to place me in this job now…….. WOW! I have to tell you, Read James 4……..also it is the TRUTH…..When God finally chooses to use us, move us..it is when we least expect it! That is why we must be ready to move for God at any moment. And you will not know any of this if you do not have a Personal relationship with Him, where you hear Him. Otherwise you will be on a wild goose chase your entire life. I am sadden by Christian’s who run around like a chicken with their head cut off running in all directions….they are not hearing God. God is not a God of confusion. So be watchful for that OPEN DOOR………and listen……….and pray………and read God’s Word……..The Holy Spirit will come upon you like never before! How do I know? I have experienced it and still am, it is the only way to live for God. Now I need to share with you this, I call it God’s puzzle…….. He put’s our life together like a puzzle board. I was never good at a puzzle board because I did not have the patients of God and the smarts……… I always admired people who could do a puzzle………. But God put’s our life together like we would have never dreamed…..He is the Master! Where we think pieces of our life will not fit..He put’s us right there in the center stage! Or he may put us at the bottom of the puzzle for years…….out of eye sight. One man who has taught me much about OPEN DOORS and my relationship with Jesus Christ, is my Pastor Jim Montoya. I will never forget the day Jim came storming through my office door, and I say that with full description, he did not walk through my office door, he stormed though it! From that first day Pastor Jim has taught me about OOPEN DOORS, he has pushed my learning of God’s ways……Sometimes Jim and I butt heads…….yes you get nothing but the truth here at the CUP!!! LOL LOL LOL! making ourselves vulnerable in our Lord. Too many Christians do not make themselves vulnerable, Yes Jim and I butt heads, no blood has been shed!!!!!!!! LOL LOL…..My point in this is that YOU AND I ALL OF YOU NEED A PASTOR! A MENTOR, and Jim has helped me grow in leap’s and bounds. Pastor Leonard Navarre and Pastor Paul Holt, Mark Tross, Larry Moss……. same way…..This is the world I grew up in where I have always had several mentor’s…I have always been surrounded by many Godly wise people, making myself vulnerable. Too many Christians don’t even talk to their Pastor. They don’t have a relationship with their Pastor. I ask some folks if they talk to their Pastor and they say…..no, he is too busy…….. I encourage you to have a solid Biblically sound relationship with a Pastor. God desires that for you. Too many Christians are going around without that, not good. These are the Words that the LORD gave me this day…….. To help you grow in your relationship with Jesus Christ, to hear Him, to know Him fully…..to fully see the OPEN DOORS…..you need the aide of a Godly Pastor…….. When Brother Gary Milliron was with us at the Los Lunas Church of God in May a word was brought forth and Brother Milliron had the interpretation. “I want to be with you 10 times, a hundred times more than you want to be with me. I will prosper you, I want to be with you. Learn to hear my voice. My sheep know my voice. Study, Read, Know My Word. Get to know Me. I will guide you, go this way, don’t go that way. I will show you favor. You will be surprised and amazed how I work, prosper, and bless. Thank you Jannetta for having the heart of a servant! Thanks to Wanell Pate and Pastor Leonard Navarre for their Godly encouragement for the CUP. Leonard was sharing with me that he used one of the postings in a sermon. I hear from time to time that Pastor’s use some of the CUP in their sermons. What a blessing, that is why we are here each day, to serve, serve you all in doing what God say’s to share with you. Wanell has been such an encourager, we all need to be encouraged. Your Pastor needs to be encouraged, your Husband, your Wife, your children, your co-workers…….we are to encourage each other in our Lord. We are to have the Heart of a Servant. What is, if anything, preventing you from giving all of yourself to Jesus? What are you doing today for God’s Glory Alone? Let me share with you a miracle at yesterday’s Revival in Los Lunas……….I posted this last night on Facebook…….. Brothers and Sisters in Christ I come humbly to tell you of a miracle from the Revival today in Los Lunas we prayed over an elderly lady in a wheelchair I anointed her with oil prayed and prayed God told me to tell her Do you want to walk? prayed more God had me ask her again if she wants to walk, she said yes, she got up and walked with no assistance and smiled big Read James 5:13 For Gods Glory Alone In James 5:13 it reads……. Is anyone among you suffering? he should pray. Is anyone cheerful? he should sing praises. Is anyone among you sick? He should call the elders of the Church, and they should pray over him after anointing him with olive oil in the name of the Lord. The prayer of faith will save the sick person, and the Lord will raise him up; and if he has committed sins, he will be forgiven. Therefore, confess, confess your sins to one another and pray for one another, so that you may be healed. The intense prayer of the righteous is very powerful. James 5:13-16 My life is changes forever in my Lord for what I witnessed and prayed for over this lady. I very humbly tell you that like James, I now more than ever Identify myself as a slave of God and of the Lord Jesus Christ. I also posted this……. I also want to say that I was so blessed today by the compassion of Victor Martinez and his love and prayers and by the singing of his 8 year old daughter and by the testimony of Wendy Smith also by the prayers Victor said for me and my wife Sharon. LOL LOL” My Dad like my Mom had the heart of a Godly Servant, they always put others first before themselves. This coming Sunday, Father’s Day, KKIM/SHINE will be at one of the State’s largest Car Shows at Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood starts at 9am hot dogs and drink! A New Fire in New Mexico and firefighters are gaining more control of the Arizona Fire………This from KKIM/KARS newsman Bill Ruhl who is on the air all morning brining you the news you need to know and at www.newmexiconewsandviews.com >> Firefighters hope to get a handle on the out-of-control Track Fire. Raton, NM — Firefighters in northern New Mexico believe today could be critical in getting a handle on the out-of-control Track Fire. As of last night, the fire near Raton has already burned 27-hundred acres and was at zero-percent containment, while a portion of Interstate 25 was closed between Raton and the southern Colorado town of Trinidad. Some evacuation orders were made as a precaution. Officials say they’re hopeful winds will die down today but rugged terrain has so far made it difficult for some fire engines to be in a position to save homes in the area. >> The huge wildfire in eastern Arizona is now ten-percent contained. (Springerville, AZ) — The huge wildfire in eastern Arizona is now ten-percent contained. Yesterday, firefighters said they were finally making real progress battling the massive “Wallow Fire.” The blaze has scorched nearly 450-thousand acres since it began May 29th and remains the second-largest wildfire in Arizona history. More than 30 homes and commercial properties have been destroyed, and more than three-thousand are threatened. Firefighters conducted a “burnout” fire near the town of Luna, New Mexico over the weekend to help keep the Wallow Fire from crossing the border into that state. About 100 homes in New Mexico have been evacuated as a precaution. Meanwhile, Forest Service officials are letting residents who were evacuated from fire-scarred Springerville and Eagar, Arizona return to their homes at their own risk. Fire officials say air quality could be a danger for those people. They are recommending evacuees only expose themselves to the smoke-filled air for brief periods of time. Air quality is expected to keep getting worse along most of the Arizona-New Mexico border. Thank you Bill for that report. There are over 4,000 Firefighters fighting the Arizona wildfire. Let us continue to pray for rain. One more story from the Revival………. A man walked his bike through the area in the Park where we where holding the Revival and as he walked past he was yelling, “This is———————–, and he walked further and was still yelling, “This is——————–, God did not give us a Spirit of fear……….I followed the man over to the restroom. I introduced myself and quickly determined that this poor man was so full of anger, lot’s of anger. We may feel like we have to yell back at folks like this, but no, that’s what they want……show them the love of Jesus, but do not fear in presenting the case of Jesus. He told me I was crazy for believing in Jesus, two other men came up from behind, I don’t know if they were concerned for my safety or what. I let him spew his word’s forth and told him Jesus loves him and I will pray that his anger leaves him, he told me that the Church had ruined his life. Many have been hurt by the Church. We do not meet anger with more anger…..we let God move us and God will guide our witness. As Dad used to say, “Don’t pour gas on an already burning fire.” The other thing that God is so putting on my heart is more than ever I see Christian struggling in marriage. This is what God has shown me, stop interpreting the marriage yourself. Is God in thoughts like: She is going off with her old boyfriend, I know God has someone else for me! WOW, that is a statement where one is playing God. Or, the one, we don’t have anything in common anymore, or I am very angry and I don’t know if I can hang in there anymore, or the one from a friend, she is having an affair but I am not going to tell her husband….. All these comments have come from people who describe themselves as Believers in Jesus Christ. Or how about the married couples that go to counseling, but go to separate councilors and never the same one! All this is not in God’s Will! God’s plan is simple…..let us keep our eye’s fixed on Jesus Christ and HIS Word. Chuck Swindoll, who is on KKIM weekdays 6:30am and pm writes in his book on Paul, The Man of Grace and Grit, In the midst of severe suffering, He gently whispers, “My grace is sufficient for you.” But I don’t know if in the midst of the storm that many are listening to God….it’s like many Christians become deaf during the storm and go off on their own free Will. I have preached for years that you need to have a solid foundation in Jesus Christ to withstand the storms of life. Swindoll continues…As with Saul, His grace supplies more than we need to endure whatever it is that threatens to undo us. His grace is more sufficient than your strength.His grace is more sufficient than the advice of any trained counselor or close friend (though God uses both). His grace is sufficient to carry you through whatever your own, unique “thorn” may be. His grace ——that’s the ticket! If you are going through a storm right now in your Marriage or any other challenge……. James Chapter 1 tells us to consider it pure joy when we face trials because testing of our faith develops perseverance. This is for all of us………… People are like tea bags……. If you want to know what’s inside, drop them in hot water! Nothing reveals the true heart of a person like a disaster! When your UNDER FIRE—–UNDER PRESSURE—–What kind of person are you? What is revealed? WHAT COMES OUT OF YOU WHEN YOUR PUT TO THE TEST? Build your foundation in Jesus Christ, Reinforce it each day by putting the Armor of God on. Ephesians 6:10-11 Finally my brethren, be strong in the Lord and in the power of His might. Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. That is how we need to start our day with prayer, listening to God and also reading His Word……every morning you must start your day like this, otherwise you will be swallowed up by THIS WORLD! Are you hearing from God? if not email me. James 4: 7-8 Therefore submit yourself to God, Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you…….. James 5:7 Therefore be patient, brethren, until the coming of the Lord. See how the farmer waits for the precious fruit of the earth, waiting patiently for it until it receives the early and latter rain. May you……..you and yours be with God this day and all days..may you bathe in His love.
