We continue down this journey on healing……..

Our Dear daughter Getchen’s Bird, Tweet is having a tumor removed today from her stomach. The tumor is on the outside of the body. Tweet has been a member of the Moede household for 8 years. Please pray for little tweet. We thank you all who have sent us emails and those of you that have called for you love for Sharon, Buffy, and now Tweet. Your love and concern makes all the difference in the World! Sharon is doing good. Our thanks to Dr. Larry Bates who sent Sharon a big box of homeopathic’s!!! They are helping! PRAISE GOD! We are awaiting the pathology report on Buffy. I tell you Buff has recovered very good from her surgery, which was major! She is smiling and so happy to be out of pain!!!!!

While I was walking to the car to tape the TV program yesterday, My ankle snapped! It swelled up! It is the same one I injured in softball this past season! Just walking! The swelling is gone this morning! PRAISE GOD!

I am going to take you through a journey that I went through yesterday….and maybe by taking you through this it will help you react to a situation better…….it’s a journey of everyday life…….

So very important to pray before we act! Yesterday I had a dear friend and mentor encourage me strongly to act on a matter. I listened, I agreed to some of what was being presented, but I still had doubts, and my spirit was so unsettled. I was told other things in the meeting that unsettled my spirit. My point in bringing this up is that I am so thankful for the discernment the Lord gives me…and you…….the feeling of being unsettled means we must pray and hear from the Lord before we act.

Problems happen when we just react. React out of the flesh. My friend meant no harm, he was doing what he felt the Lord was telling him to do. When you get two men together and think they have heard from God and they are passionate about it, WOW! Lot’s of energy!!! We must always proceed in the wisdom of God, Be still and know that I am God! psalm 46:10

So this morning I awoke, and the Lord confirmed for me that I made the right decision by not taking action on the matter my friend and mentor suggested me to.

The point in all this is to help us handle everyday situations and not go off on emotions, but go with God, even when it comes from a Good friend and Mentor, we must pray and listen for our Lord to show us the way.

This is one of the most wonderful gifts we have available to is ….discernment from our Lord, I treasure it and wrap my arms and heart around this Godly gift we are given!

I also have a wife who prayers with me on all matters.

Our families, our work places, our Church’s would be so much better off if we held in check our emotions, the flesh…….and prayed more and listened for God more.

In this journey on healing, It brings up the thought of hurtful word’s! How many times have you spoken hurtful word’s to loved ones?

I have, too many times…..Sure was not worth it was it? ………I meet many people who still have not recovered from hurtful things that were said to them. They own them. They have not given them up.

They know they are to forgive, but for many the word’s hurt much.

So it all goes back to what I was sharing, let us keep our emotions in check and pray before we speak.

I had planned to continue the Teachings of George Martin today..But as I read Victor’s letter..the Lord sent me to Chuck Swindoll’s book on Paul. Dewey, thanks for the great perspective in today’s Cup! I can’t wait to get my hands on a copy of George Martin’s book. It appears to be out of print and is only available online used. I’m searching for a good deal and will then order. Also, regarding something you said in today’s Cup, please read chapter 14 of Christ the Healer on “Paul’s Thorn”. Bosworth makes a strong case that Paul’s thorn was not a lifelong physical ailment but was satanic oppression to his ministry – as Paul himself called it “the messenger of satan to buffet me”. The same phrase is used elsewhere in the OT and always refers to satanic or human oppression, never as a physical ailment.

This is how Chuck Swindoll describes that “Thorn” of Paul’s in his book “The Man of Grace and Grit: Paul…..
The word translated “thorn” comes from the Greek term skolops, meaning a “sharply pointed stake.” Specifically, Paul wrote, “There was given to me a stake in the flesh.”
After the glory came the groaning. On the heels of supernatural privilege came physical throbbing pain. Following the exalted heavenly revelations came humiliating and agonizing earthly suffering, It was an agony which would accompany Paul the rest of his life.
Now, what was that thorn? Suggestions abound. Some say it was a series of spiritual temptations .Others point to carnal temptations. Still others suggest relentless opposition and persecution. Physical deformity. Epilepsy. Migraines. Chronic eye trouble. A hunchback. Recurring bouts with malaria and it’s accompanying throbbing head pain. The truth is we don’t know.
Swindoll continues to write….You read one Biblical scholar, and he’ll identify the thorn as definitely one thing. Another theologian may say, “Couldn’t be that, it’s gotta be this.”

Swindoll says, When we are all done hearing all the opinions and theories it doesn’t matter. The man who endured it calls it a “messenger of Satan”

Swindoll, who I say is one of the Greatest Christian writers of all times writes this on healing……

This is a good time to correct faulty thinking. It is not always God’s will that you be healed. It is not always the Father’s plan to relieve the pressure. Our happiness is not God’s chief plan. ( I LOVE CHUCK BECAUSE HE SPEAKS GODLY TRUTH, TOO MANY PASTOR’S ARE NOT GOING TO SAY THAT!!!!)

He doesn’t have a wonderful plan for everybody’s life

Holding onto God’s promises is the closet we get to actually holding onto God.

Oh my, what a picture!!!!!………holding onto God! Hold onto HIM tight this day and all days…Hold onto HIS Word’s……HIS promises!

God’s promises are the antidote for our despair!

Oh my friends these are the word’s that the Lord has me to share with you this day……..yes you!

God’s promises are greater than human wisdom.

People will fill your ears with a bunch of “NOTHING NOISE! THE WORLD IS FULL OF NOTHING NOISE!!! Proverbs 18:2 says, “A fool takes no pleasure in understanding, but only in expressing his opinion.”

But hear this: God has spoken and He’s made promises that exceed by far the foolishness in what people often say when we are hurting.

LOVE……I miss my extended family very much. I do not see my brothers, Dave and Daryl much anymore as well as my Sister Deb. I also miss Lars very much. With today’s modern technology it is easy to text Lars and say hello and tell him I love him each day. Let us always tell our loved ones that we love them…….read this impactive story from Darlene…….

I was walking around in a supermarket when I saw a cashier hand this little boy his money back, the boy couldn’t have been more than 5 or 6 years old. The Cashier said, ‘I’m sorry, but you don’t have enough money to buy this doll.” The little boy turned to the old woman next to him, ”Granny, are you sure I don’t have enough money?” She replied, ”You know that you don’t have enough money to buy this doll, my dear.” Then she asked him to stay there for just 5 minutes while she went to look around. She left quickly. The little boy was still holding the doll in his hand. Finally, I walked toward him and I asked him who he wished to give this doll to. ‘It’s the doll that my sister loved most and wanted so much for Christmas. She was sure that Santa Claus would bring it to her.’ I replied to him that maybe Santa Claus would bring it to her after all, and not to worry. But he replied to me sadly. ‘No, Santa Claus can’t bring it to her where she is now. I have to give the doll to my mommy so that she can give it to my sister when she goes there.’ His eyes were so sad while saying this, ‘My Sister has gone to be with God. Daddy says that Mommy is going to see God very soon too, so I thought that she could take the doll with her to give it to my sister.” My heart nearly stopped. The little boy looked up at me and said, ‘I told daddy to tell mommy not to go yet. I need her to wait until I come back from the mall.’ Then he showed me a very nice photo of himself. He was laughing. He then told me ‘I want mommy to take my picture with her so she won’t forget me.’ ‘I love my mommy and I wish she didn’t have to leave me, but daddy says that she has to go to be with my little sister.’ Then he looked again at the doll with sad eyes, very quietly. I quickly reached for my wallet and said to the boy. ‘Suppose we check again, just in case you do have enough money for the doll!” OK’ he said, ‘I hope I do have enough.’ I added some of my money to his without him seeing and we started to count it. There was enough for the doll and even some spare money. The little boy said, ‘Thank you God for giving me enough money!’ Then he looked at me and added, ‘I asked last night before I went to sleep for God to make sure I had enough money to buy this doll, so that mommy could give it to my sister. He heard me!” ‘I also wanted to have enough money to buy a white rose for my mommy, but I didn’t dare to ask God for too much. But He gave me enough to buy the doll and a white rose.” ‘My mommy loves white roses.’ A few minutes later, the old lady returned and I left with my basket. I finished my shopping in a totally different state of mind from when I started. I couldn’t get the little boy out of my mind. Then I remembered a local newspaper article two days ago, which mentioned a drunk man in a truck, who hit a car occupied by a young woman and a little girl. The little girl died right away and the mother was left in a critical state. The family had to decide whether to pull the plug on the life-sustaining machine because the young woman would not be able to recover from the coma. Was this the family of the little boy? Two days after this encounter with the little boy I read in the newspaper that the young woman had passed away. I couldn’t stop myself as I bought a bunch of white roses and I went to the funeral home where the body of the young woman was for people to see and make last wishes before her burial. She was there, in her coffin, holding a beautiful white rose in her hand with the photo of the little boy and the doll placed over her chest. I left the place, teary-eyed, feeling that my life had been changed forever. The love that the little boy had for his mother and his sister is still, to this day, hard to imagine, and in a fraction of a second, a drunk driver had taken all this away from him

Very impactive……..let us make sure and share our love each day!

Healing is a very tough subject………When I type these words I think of those who are reading this and have not been healed of painful stuff! There are many of you, like my wife Sharon. who lives with pain many days of her life, she does get a “vacation for many days, without pain”.As George Martin says, Much of healing is a mystery to us! Remember now when I was 5 1/2 years old I was told I would probably never walk or run like the other kids……but here I am today at nearly 56 playing ball! My Mom was such a strong Christian, passed on of cancer at 64. It hurt when people would come up to me and say, “Our Mom had cancer but we prayed and she was healed.” Now, many of you know how much that hurt, as we prayed for our Mom and she was not healed here on earth, but in heaven. Dad passed on with a fatal heart attack when he was 64. Gretchen nearly passed when she was 8 weeks old, but was healed. So you see I have experienced healing and non-healing in my days..I still carry with me the grief of losing Mom and Dad at such a young age. I carry with me the pain that my Sharon has each day. I do not accept it when Pastor’s or other’s will say, Get the sin out of your life and you will be healed! Much confusion in the Church on healing. I am trying to clear the path by studying it here on the CUP and going to the Lord each day as to what and how to share with you all.

You and I know this for sure, once we get to heaven we have new bodies! We are healed.Some will be like Paul and carry an affliction with them most if not all of their lives. Paul healed others, but also carried a “thorn” until his death.

It is wise to educate yourself on healing, as this is a way to minister to others.

I want to encourage all of you to read the book by George Martin, Healing Reflections on the Gospel. It is the best book on healing that I have read. Martin gained a lot of respect from me when he states, “There is much about healing that we do not understand, healing is largely a mystery.”

Man tries to understand all things, but if we did, we would be God. We must trust God, He will not forsake us.

Eternal life with our Father in heaven is our focus.

Now I want to resume point number two on Healing with Martin………

We should use natural means at our disposal to care for our health. We should preserve our health through wise and temperate living. We should use medical science to restore our health when we are sick.
God’s healing power in our lives must never become an excuse for us to abuse our health.(It is so sad how people drink,eat, and be Merry, and how society has become so over weight!!!, we abuse our temple’s!)
We should take responsibility for preserving our health through proper nutrition, exercise, and rest, avoiding whatever we know to be harmful to ourselves.

If we are chronically fatigued and lack the energy to get our work done, we perhaps should pray for a healing from this condition. But perhaps we should examine our lifestyle. Am I eating a well-balanced diet? (LET ME SAY HERE THAT WHEN I WENT IN FOR MY PHYSICAL A FEW MONTHS AGO MY SUGAR WAS AT 125, I THEN STOPPED ALL SUGAR AND LOST 12 POUNDS IN TWO WEEKS! let us examine what we eat and drink!, I am down to 175. Blood pressure down also. We must take care of our temples.It drives me nuts to see people so overweight!!!!!, abusing their temple that God gave them!!!)

My friend Ted, calls, it Chest-in-the-drawers disease! LOL LOL!!!!

God does not want to make up for our junk food, or over eating!

God wants us to correct these bad habits of life so that we might enjoy good health as a natural result of the way we live.

Similarly, we can also abuse our health by imprudence—driving ourselves to take on too many responsibilities(That would be me!!!!) or make more money!(Not Me!!) What money????)

God’s desire that we be healthy is first of all a desire that we correct those conditions in our life which lead to bad health.

We should pray for the strength of will to overcome bad habits, rather than for a divine healing from the consequences of bad habits.

I am going to stop here for today…I have to say I am in better health today than I was at 25 years of age because I have taken responsibility for my own health. I have found that there are natural things here on earth for us to consume daily to take better care of ourselves. We have polluted God’s earth, we must as I say, “clean ourselves from man’s toxin’s daily”

These are the word’s that the Lord has given to me this day to share with you.

Let me leave you with these promises from our God today……..

“By which have been given to us exceedingly great and precious promises” 2 Peter 1:4

God’s promises are great because…..they come from our Great God!

Psalm 145:3 says…”Great is the Lord….His greatness is unsearchable.”

We must admit that we don’t have a clue how great God is because no one can discover the depth of his greatness. Only in His promises are we able to explore and experience just how great He really is.

Jeremiah 32:27″ “I am the Lord…..Is there anything too hard for Me?”

What is it this day that you think is to hard for God to handle?

We have to reply, “Nothing, Lord is to hard for You!”

Does that not give you courage and hope?

IT DOES ME!

Holding on to God’s promises is the closet we get to actually holding onto God.

Read that again!

Scott Chaney has been ill for 22 months, in hospital for 15 months and is getting better. We have been praying for a miracle, will you join us in prayer for healing for Scott. A new Doctor is coming to Albuquerque to see Scott. This is a true love story on how a wife, Marci, has stuck with Scott through thick and thin, praying, fighting with Doctor’s for the best care, believing in Scott’s healing when others have not. Scott and Marci have a 12 year old son, Steven. Marci is a reader of the CUP they are from Tucumcari. Thank you for your prayers.

It was this that Pastor Jim Montoya Preached to me when I first met him 2 years ago…….

Before Jesus went back to His Father in heaven, He gave His followers a big job to do: “You shall be witnesses to Me in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the end of the earth” Acts 1:8. This is known as Jesus Great Commission. The Book of Acts tells how Jesus followers began to carry out this mission., showing how in about 30 years they spread the Good News about Jesus—how He died to save sinners and then rose again—-to the far corners of the known world.

Peter said, “Repent and let everyone of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.

“For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Acts 2: 38-39

Here at the CUP and the Radio Ranch we strive everyday to carry out the Great Commission.

I would encourage you today to read in the Book of Acts….complete it this week. It is good to visit the early Church!

Part of carrying out the Great Commission is healing……..

To me Healing has been abused by some in the Church. Some have given an unbelieving world what they have wanted to see through their healing “methods”. Making money. I have seen miracles of this day, I have heard of miracles of this day!

All I know is that healing takes place today and God still does miracles, but…..

I have people coming to me asking why they are not healed, they are good Christians. I have dived into the subject of healing. As Author George Martin says some of healing is a mystery to us! We cannot know all.

Let me share with in a series of CUP’s what the Lord wants me to share with you from this Godly man George Martin from his book, Healing Reflections on the Gospel. A book that Pastor Don Kimbro recommended to me.

Our attitudes toward sickness and health will influence how we pray to God for healing. If we believe that God is indifferent to our suffering, we probably won’t pray to Him for healing. If we believe that we will be cured every time we are sick, if we simply have enough faith, we will pray quite differently—-but we may feel condemned those times we are not healed. Without attempting to present a full treatment of all questions, I would like to recommend the following attitudes toward healing.

1. God wants man to enjoy health, God’s plan at creation was for man to enjoy physical and emotional health; it was through sin that sickness and death entered into the world. (Gen. 3: 16-19)

Jesus Christ came to restore what man had lost through sin, Jesus came not only to bring forgiveness of sin, but also to repair the evil effects of sin. Jesus came to bring salvation to us as complete individuals, not only to bring salvation for our souls. He came to bring us “abundant life” (John 10:10), the beginning of which we should experience here and now! The healing’s Jesus worked were not merely signs of his divinity; they were also part of his mission of restoring man to wholeness in the image of God.

We instinctively desire to be healthy, and usually do whatever we can to get well when we are ill. We consider it natural and normal to take medicine when we are sick, or to go to a doctor. We rarely have to sit down and deliberate whether we want to be healthy.We should not automatically assume that sickness we experience is a cross sent to us by God, to be borne with patience. We should rather understand sickness as an evil, something that is normal to want to remove from our lives!

Just as we turn to Doctor’s and medicine when we are sick, so should we turn to God in prayer. We should pray for healing; healing for ourselves and others when we are sick, healing from whatever kind of sickness afflicts us. We should consider it natural and normal to pray for healing, just as we consider it natural and normal to take medicine. We should have no more hesitation in praying for healing than we do in taking aspirin for a headache.

Jesus does ask us to carry our cross in imitation of Him. There is a mystery of redemptive suffering, and illness or infirmity can be part of it. But the cross that Jesus normally asks us to carry is the cross of dying ourselves by laying down our lives in love. We should not assume that every sickness is a cross we are asked to carry. Rather, unless we have very good and specific reasons to believe otherwise, we should assume that God desires us to be well and we should pray to be well.

There is a time appointed for each person to die. Death, brought into the world through man’s sin, is ultimately vanquished only through our resurrection in Christ. There is a time to pray for someone’s peaceful death and joyful resurrection into eternal life. A person’s age and the circumstances of his life should guide us in praying for them as we ought.

However, our basic attitude should be one of seeking health: health for ourselves, health for others. Our basic attitude should view sickness as one of the evils that Jesus came to free us from. We should normally expect God’s will for us in health, and turn to Him in prayer to ask for that health.

Part II on Tuesday, Lord Willing….please pray over what you just read…..read it several times……..We are waiting for more test results on Sharon and We are taking Buffy in for a check up this morning. Please pray for complete healing for Sharon and Buffy, we are so thankful for your prayers!
