I also thank Liz of the David Standridge Law Firm in Albuquerque for helping out a friend yesterday! Liz also attends Church at Legacy, and is such a Dear, Dear friend! If you ever have any legal questions I encourage you to call the Standridge Law Firm, headed up by such a Godly man as David Standridge, one of my mentor’s who has helped me so much in my walk with Jesus Christ!
We also want you to know that when you have transmission problems (Like Wendy here at the CUP…her letter is in today’s CUP) call Charles at C and A Transmission, this man of God will help you and will give you the best price and workmanship! I am very thankful to our LORD that I can recommend people to you all from first hand experiences! All these folks are Ministry sponsor’s!
It also takes people like Jannetta LaMort, our web master, to keep the CUP flowing! Yesterday I called Jannetta and she was very busy! But she took the time to get Amy’s urgent prayer need out! God Bless you always Jannetta!
I am so thankful for all the people that come to the CUP! We love you all!!!!
Here is Celina Lucero………
To God be the glory!!
“Lead me to your truth and teach me, for You are the God who saves me.
All day long I pray my hope in You!”
God Beautifies the meek with Salvation!
From Max Lucado…….
“My grace is enough for you. When you are weak, my power is made perfect in you.” 2 Corinthians 12:9
What is grace? It’s what someone gives us out of the goodness of his heart, not out of the perfection of ours. The story of grace is the good news that says when we come, he gives. That’s what grace is . . .
Grace is something you did not expect. It is something you certainly could never earn. But grace is something you’d never turn down.
AMEN!
The Bible is a rock of diamonds, a chain of pearls, the sword of the Spirit; a chain by which the Christian sails to eternity; the map by which he daily walks; the sundail by which he sets his life; the balance in which he weighs his actions. Thomas Watson.
PRAISE GOD!
The tooth of time gnaws all books but the Bible…….Nineteen centuries of experience have tested it. It has passed through critical fires no other volume has suffered, and its spiritual truths have endured the flames and come out without so much as the smell of burning. W.E. Sangster.
AMEN! PRAISE GOD!
God has spoken!
I received a new book in the mail yesterday!!! One of the things I love about my job is the books I get in the mail! Brother Paul of Hank Hanegraaf’s ministry mailed me a copy of Hank’s new book, Has God Spoken? Hank of course is host of the Bible Answer Man. From this book, came the two quotes I used to open the CUP today! Thanks Paul for sending it my way! Love ya!
Here’s is what I love about the CUP family……..many sent emails yesterday of prayer and love for Amy …….The love just flow’s here at the CUP…..Oh thank you LORD!
Let us revisit the letter from Amy…….
“Dear brothers and sisters,
“As many of you know, I have been on weekly chemo since April of 2010. There were many false starts, many times when I had scans that showed that chemo was not working. In April of 2011 I had radiation, and my June scan showed that the cancer had indeed lessened. My doctor has kept me on chemo throughout, as he wants to keep me around for awhile! This next scan, Wednesday morning at 8:00, will determine if I can come off of chemo in December. If it is all clear, then I will be able to have a break for hopefully forever, but at least for awhile! I am asking you to pray for this. Please pray for a scan that is all clear. Please pray for an all clear health wise for me, so that my body can stop chemo and can recover for awhile.
“I only have a few hours of energy each day. I find that if I push too hard I end up hysterical in tears at the end of the period. If I commit to one thing, I can not commit to anything else. My family needs me, and I need to feel useful again! Please pray as you feel led. Bottom line is that God is good and He is faithful and He is amazing if my scan is clear. He is good and He is faithful and He is amazing if it is not clear as well. I am just so ready for a break! I am ready to build up my strength again, which I can only do if chemo can healthily stop. Thank you my brothers and sisters!
Oh my friends let us go to our knees in prayer for Amy and all those Ill this day…..
Now love letters from Sam and Jan, two ladies who have gone through much pain but are so strong in their faith in Jesus Christ…..
This letter from Sam will surely touch your heart……..everyone’s heart………
A note for Amy’……. Dear Amy, my heart cried when I read your email. You bet you will be in my prayers for tomorrow. I know how you feel about being ready for a break.. I call the good days, or hours, my time off. But am sure I’m not going thru what you are, Bless YOUR heart!
Amy, one time, many years ago I saw a Billy Graham Crusade on T.V. Always loved him. And at the time his show offered a book called “Streams in the Desert”.. A book written by a Woman in China Whose husband was a Missionary, well, after living there for some time, he got ill. And her days taking care of him there for Many Years, led her to write this book. What a Wonderful Christian Woman, and I’m talking about a book written years ago……anyway, at the time Amy, I couldn’t afford to send any donation to the Graham Crusade so I just wrote the Rev a long letter. Oh, I told him Everything that was on my heart, and in it I said I wished I could send him money, not only for that book, but for his Wonderful Work… About a month later I received a Huge Box. In it was, NOT only the book, but about 20 others that were so Uplifting and Guiding.. What a Ministry of Love… Anyway, I have held that book very dear to my heart for all these years till a Two years ago when I gave it to my Granddaughter. She knows what it means to me and she holds it dear too. Amy, I just wish I had been given Two. I would have it in the Mail for you Today!! it is written as a Daily Devotional.. BUT so Spirit Filled you can Never get by with just reading One Day!! 🙂 Oh thru all these years, EveryTime I would feel downTrodden, or sad, or just not Good..I would pick up that book, and it Always worked.. I always felt it was personal gift to me from God..I Pray our Lord will Bless you with and Thru that book Amy. And IF you would like I will find one and send it to you. What it ‘IS’ is the Bible, with just little stories or Spirit filled Poems, but around the Word of God…You see she wrote it with Praise and Thanksgiving in a time of sorrow…
” May our Lord walk into your Dr’s office tomorrow morning with you Holding your hand!! May he comfort you in a way that No matter what your Dr Says, You will be at peace with it. I pray the News will be Good News and You will have your ‘Break’ for the Rest of your life Amy!!
God’s Peace… sam
From Jan of the Methodist Church in Los Alamos…..
Hi Dewey,
It’s been a long time. Come on up and see us some time. Today I saw your prayer request for Amy. As you know, I went through the cancer experience over thirty years ago. If Amy or anyone else would like to talk to a fellow Christian who has been through some of the same experiences and come out whole (better than whole in some ways, though with a few less parts) on the other side, please give me their info and I will contact them.
Jan
Thank you Jan!
Also talk about the LOVE OF GOD flowing here at the CUP!!! Dr. Joe Fawcett who has been a Dear Friend here at the CUP for years has been ministering in the Fresno, California area and that is the area where Sam lives and Dr. Joe was able to give Sam some good guidance on treatment for pain. PRAISE GOD!
I also had a conference call with Dr. Joe and a friend of his on some movie projects they are doing, including a Christian Western!!! I look forward to having Dr. Joe share more on that!

We also have this prayer need from Carrie……..Let us pray on this please…….
Hi Dewey,
I’m hoping you can pass this along to some of your prayer warriors. A very dear friend of mine in Newberg, OR, just reported her niece as missing. I know they are not in your geographical region, but thankfully prayer know no boundaries. Below in the information posted by the family on the police web sites in the Oregon areas… Natalie Lyons (14 years old) disappeared Monday night with Christian Cannon (a 20 year old from Salem, OR. This guy has been in and out of jail for drugs and probation violation, and is not married and the father of 2 young children). Both were last seen in the Milwaukie, Oregon area. He has family and friends in Salem, Hermiston, Wilamina areas that we know about. If anyone sees either of them, please call the police first 911 Prayers for Natalie’s safe return, and a calm clarity of peace for the family would be appreciated. |
We are praying Carrie.we are praying for the safe return of Natalie…please keep us informed! Let us cry out to our LORD!
Let us hear from Wendy!!!
Good News! My daughter, Brianne had the stitches out from her broken wrists yesterday and she did
not have to be recasted, but only has splints. She will go back to work part-time the middle of Oct
and full-time in November. Thanks for the prayers! Denny & I need prayer today because our transmission
went out on our 2002 Ford Escape SUV and will cost about $2000. I thank God that Denny brought me
to work today! God truly takes care of me with my long commute from Tajique! I have even prayed that
there would be no cars driving close to me on the freeway and he has answered that prayer! $2000 is
a lot of money for us, so pray that God gives us wisdom, that we find an honest garage to fix the car,
and that the money would be there. Thanks for your prayers!
God bless,
Wendy Smith
Tajique, NM
We are praying Wendy! I encourage all with transmission problems to call Charles at C and A Transmission a KKIM Ministry sponsor! Charles will treat you in a Godly way.he is a strong man of God!
Let us also pray for Sarah and Jake as they prepare for marriage here at the end of the month. I will not be able to attend the wedding as, Lord Willing, I will be at the Revival in Asheville, NC. Sarah and Jake are special to me as I did their pre-martial counseling. Two lovely people! God Bless you Sarah and Jake.
Let us also pray this day for the Christian Radio Guide, a nationwide publication that needs more support.
The following story was sent in by Miki….oh what a story… made me think of our doggie Buffy (and Tweet, who is doing better) who refused to lie down as she was stricken with that tumor in her mouth that was full of cancer! I am taking Buffy in for a check up today! PRAISE GOD! This story that Miki sent in is a story that I am sure we all can identify with!!!! Please continue to pray for complete healing for Buffy and Tweet, we are called to take care of our animals. PRAISE GOD!
One day a farmer’s donkey fell down into a well. The animal cried
piteously for …hours as the farmer tried to figure out what to do.
Finally, he decided the animal was old, and the well needed to be
covered up anyway; it just wasn’t worth it to retrieve the donkey.
He invited all his neighbors to come over and help him. They all grabbed
a shovel and began to shovel dirt into the well. At first, the donkey
realized what was happening and cried horribly. Then, to everyone’s
amazement he quieted down.
A few shovel loads later, the farmer finally looked down the well. He was
astonished at what he saw. With each shovel of dirt that hit his back,
the donkey was doing something amazing. He would shake it off and take a
step up.
As the farmer’s neighbors continued to shovel dirt on top of the animal,
he would shake it off and take a step up. Pretty soon, everyone was
amazed as the donkey stepped up over the edge of the well and happily
trotted off!
MORAL :
Life is going to shovel dirt on you, all kinds of dirt. The trick to
getting out of the well is to shake it off and take a step up. Each of
our troubles is a steppingstone. We can get out of the deepest wells
just by not stopping, never giving up! Shake it off and take a step up.
Remember the five simple rules to be happy:
1. Free your heart from hatred – Forgive.
2. Free your mind from worries – Most never happen.
3. Live simply and appreciate what you have.
4. Give more.
5. Expect less from people but more from God.
Thank you for this strong message Miki, We love you and thank you for the stories you send our way here at the CUP!
In the Love of Jesus Christ, Dewey Sharon and Family
