We are having such beautiful fall weather here in New Mexico!!! We need to pray for more rain however. Our friend Ken from the National Weather service told me the drought has eased a bit from the recent rains, PRAISE GOD, but we need much more, let us continue to pray for rain.

WOW! Back home in Windom, Minn they have been having many grass fires!

Outstanding conversation with Fmr Congressman Bill Redmond on NM News and Views last night! Bill is so, so busy doing the Lord’s work! He continues to work very hard with Chinese Christians and did a tour of our Nation’s Capitol with a group from China the other day! My Dear friend Wanell Pate who got me the Smith Wigglesworth Daily Devotional Book, called my attention to yesterdays devotional….

For he shall give His angels charge over you, to keep you in all your ways. Psalm 91:11

Wigglesworth’s Thought for the Day: Anything that takes me from a position where I am in an attitude of worship, peace, and joy: where I have a consciousness of the presence of God; where there is an inward moving of the powers of God that makes me able to lift myself up and live in the world as though I were not of it (because I am not of it); anything that dethrones me from that attitude is evil, is satanic!!!!

Much evil was thrown at me this week, and it was and is of Satan. Spiritual Warfare! I have also posted a write up by Charles Stanley in this CUP on Spiritual Warfare. Satan is out to knock us down, that is why it is so important to put on the Armour of God each morning!

That is one of the reasons we come to the CUP each morning to be with each other, encourage each other, pray together, hold each other up in prayer.

As Pastor Garland Moore says, “Keep your eye’s fixed on Jesus!”

We all need a strong foundation in Jesus Christ or we will be swept under the waves of Satan! This is why we carry out the Great Commission to reach those that do not have that relationship. Do you know that 40% of those listening to Christian Radio or watching Christian TV do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ? So many think we are preaching to the Choir! Christian Radio and TV plays a very important part in reaching the lost.

We know…There are so many things we do not know. We do not know if the economy will dip or if our team will win. We do not know what our spouse is thinking or how our kids will turn out. We don’t even know “what we ought to pray” (Rom. 8:26). But according to Paul, we can be absolutely certain about four things. We know…
1. God works. He is busy behind the scenes, above the fray, within the fury. He hasn’t checked out or moved on. He is ceaseless and tireless. He never stops working.
2. God works for the good. Not for our comfort or pleasure or entertainment, but for our ultimate good. Since he is the ultimate good, would we expect anything less?
3. God works for the good of those who love him. Behold the benefit of loving God! Make his story your story, and your story takes on a happy ending. Guaranteed. Being the author of our salvation, he writes a salvation theme into our biography.
4. God works in all things. Panta, in Greek. Like “panoramic” or “panacea” or “pandemic.”All-inclusive. God works, not through a few things or through the good things, best things, or easy things. But in “all things” God works.
Puppet in the hands of fortune or fate? Not you. You are in the hands of a living, loving God. Random collection of disconnected short stories? Far from it. Your life is a crafted narrative written by a good God, who is working toward your supreme good.
Yesterday I shared with you some of what Pastor Steve Smothermon shared on NM News and Views about lying and gossip. It was an excellent time with Pastor Steve. To continue our discussion on that here is what Celina Lucero wants to share with us,,,,,,,,
Dewey, today’s cup was AWESOME!
I HATE gossip! It destroys so many innocent people. The LORD gave me this scripture on gossip. POWERFUL!! I pray many will read and repent from this vicious spirit.

Proverbs 6:16 – 19

There are six things which the LORD hates, Yes seven which are an abomination to Him: 1. Haughty eyes, 2. a lying tongue, And 3. Hands that shed innocent blood, 4. A heart that devises wicked plans, 5. Feet that run rapidly to evil, 6. A false witness who utters lies, And 7. One who spreads strife among brothers.(Notice that he one who spreads strife is different than a false witness who is a liar. The following verses will reveal how such things as GOSSIP and SLANDER “Spread strife among brothers.”)

One of the GREATEST Commandments God gives us, is to Love!!!!!

In 1 Corinthians 15:33 the apostle Paul writes, “bad company corrupts good character” If your friends have questionable morals or spend too much time gossiping and complaining, it’s time to look for new ones. You only get so many dear friends in a lifetime. Here are the words of Benjamin Franklin on Friends, “Be slow in choosing a friend, slower in changing.”
Yesterday I met a new friend Phil at Legacy Church. Pastor Steve Smothermon hooked me up with Phil and he is such a prayer warrior! We spent an hour in prayer and so many burdens were lifted from me. PRAISE GOD! I thank the LORD for all my friends at Legacy!!!
Let us pray over Victor……….

Please pray about a doctor appointment I have today. It’s a second visit to the back pain management specialist I saw a couple months ago after my MRI. Please pray the Lord shows him clearly what to do to relieve my continuing back pain. Things are at a standstill with physical therapy and the therapist wants to know what “plan B” is. I just want the pain to go away and be done with this. Thanks!

We are thankful for your prayers for Buffy she went through her strongest round of Chemo by tablet yesterday and is doing very well. We are treating her with homeopathic’s and a light dosage of Chemo. She is her happy old self and brining much joy here at the Moede Ranch as she always has!!! And her little brother Reno is so happy to have Buffy running around and playing!!! PRAISE GOD!!!!!!!! Thank you for your love, concern and prayers…..we are receiving Complete healing for Buffy!

One of the things we have continued to write about and speak on over the years is Spiritual warfare. I am also sadden by the growing number of Christians who say they do not believe in Satan. Here is Charles Stanley 8am and 8:30pm on KKIM………

The Bible teaches that Satan has waged war against God and those who follow Him. This means that all Christians are on a spiritual battlefield.
In any conflict, soldiers should be given the right equipment and training in how to use it. Otherwise, it would be foolish to expect success. In a similar way, we should follow God’s directions on how best to utilize the effective spiritual armor He has provided for us.
Let’s explore each component. First, the belt of truth indicates that we should operate according to Scripture, which keeps us in the safety of God’s will. Second, the breastplate of righteousness protects our heart from wrong emotions. Third, we should have feet that are ready to stand firm against the Devil and bring the good news to others (Isa. 52:7). Fourth, the shield of faith stops the Enemy’s flaming missiles. Faith—or trust in Jesus—allows us to fight doubt, fear, and confusion. Fifth, the sword of the Spirit is the actual weapon used to cause damage to our opponent. Specifically, this is the Word of God. Scripture is “sharper than any two-edged sword” (Heb. 4:12), transforming us to be like Jesus, shedding light in a dark world, and enabling the spiritually blind to see. And finally, the helmet of salvation is protection for our thoughts.
Do you truly realize that you have a living Enemy? He continually attempts to draw you away from Jesus. Satan’s path seems comfortable and good, but it leads only to destruction. There is no middle ground; either you are battling the Enemy, or he is deceptively pulling you away from the truth.

Who Can We Trust

We can come before God’s throne where…we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it. Hebrews 4:16
Don’t we need someone to trust who is bigger than we are? Aren’t we tired of trusting the people of this earth for understanding? Aren’t we weary of trusting the things of this earth for strength? A drowning sailor doesn’t call on another drowning sailor for help… He knows he needs someone who is stronger than he is.
Jesus’ message is this: I am that person.
Please pray for Zac………
Yesterday about 11:30am I got a call from Pastor Leonard Navarre,who if you do not know lives in Edgewood, NM and he was at Valley View Christian Church where he serves as Associate Pastor, his son-in-law is the Head pastor of the Church(Zac’s Dad) and is out of Town, Leonard was dealing with the death of a 22 year old man, and the suicide of a man yesterday when his grandson Zac had to be taken to the Hospital in Albuquerque for an apparent appendicitis attack. I met Zac and Leonard’s wife Diana at the emergency room and anointed Zac with oil and prayed over him and told him he better remove that Kansas Jacket and hat so he get’s good care!!!! LOL LOL! Zac is a crazy Kansas fan!!! Zac had surgery last night to remove his appendix and is doing very well according to Grandpa Leonard! PRAISE GOD!!!
Let us also pray for Pastor Leonard who is working with the family of the 22 year old man, Renn Baily who played in the Worship band, and the family of the man who committed suicide. Let us keep both these families in our prayers also.
By the way I had a lovely talk with Diana Navarre, Leonard’s wife and we were talking about the need for an Urgent Care Center in Edgewood! The area is still growing and the need is great, it would help save lives! Just like the battle that continues in Belen for a Hospital, it needs to be built! Please pray on this, people are in need!

Oh, my how I love people with a Godly Commitment! Let us turn our Bibles to Acts 7:2-60

I pray for more people to be committed to serving the Lord, to follow Jesus Christ, to have a committed personal relationship with HIM……

Stephen knew what to stand for and not to stand for!

Stephen, the first Christian martyr, had earned great influence among the people, Acts 6:8, Fearing the loss of their own influence, Jewish religious leaders seize this leader and bring him before the council.
In his defense, Stephen displays an unwavering commitment to his convictions. (like the Pastor in Iran who will not speak against Christianity!!) In the face of authorities with the power to execute him, he stands and expresses what he knows to be true, both about Christ and the religious leader’s stubborn hearts. This leads to his stoning (7:58-60). His straight-forward manner leaves the religious leaders with no argument; they can only throw rocks. Yet even this doesn’t shake him, he dies, gazing into heaven, asking God to forgive his murderers.

Where Did the Commitment Come From?

See the source of Stephen’s commitment by considering his words and sensing his attitude:

1. He had the presence of God in his life (6:8,15

2. He based his commitment on a biblical foundation. (7:2-38).

3. He saw the error of past thinking (7:39-41).

4. He spotted the resistance of the religious leaders (7:51-53).

5. He kept his eyes on Jesus, the truth (7:55).

6. He maintained his perspective (7:60).

Commitment moves past the mind and emotions and goes straight to the will. The ancient Chinese said that the will of a man is like a cart pulled by two horses: the mind and the emotions. You must get both horses moving in the same direction to move the cart. Commitment results when your mind and emotions move forward, whatever the cost.
Leaders cannot expect followers to make commitments deeper than the ones they makes. To develop commitment we must understand the following truths:

1. Commitment starts in the heart,
Commitment precedes achievement.
Look inside: where is your heart committed?

2. Commitment is tested by action.
The only real measurement of commitment is action. Talk is cheap; action is expensive.

3. Commitment opens the door for accomplishment.
Once you commit yourself, all kinds of resources come your way to help you succeed.

4. Commitment can be measured.
Leaders must evaluate their calendars and checkbooks to measure their commitment.

5. Commitment enables a leader to make decisions. leaders must determine what’s worth dying for, then make that the basis for decisions.

6. Commitment flourishes with public accountability.
Go public with your commitments; then you’ll have incentive to follow through.

AMEN! PRAISE GOD! This is from the John Maxwell Leadership Bible, myself and Pastor Steve Smothermon highly recommend this to you and your Pastor! You know October is Pastor Appreciation Month and Maxwell’s Leadership Bible would be an excellent gift for your Pastor!

By the way Pastor Steve made is usual Wed. afternoon visit with us on NM News and Views, WOW!!! What an outstanding conversation, one of the subjects Steve took on was gossip in the Church! He shared with us that he removed a couple from the Church, just awhile ago for continued gossip and lying. He encouraged those of you that have been hurt from gossip not to be deterred, not to leave the Church, not to be angry with God. God is bigger than the gossip. But he called on Pastor’s to hold people accountable for lies and gossip, and remove them from the Church if it continues. Steve said not enough Pastor’s do this because they are afraid to lose members. Steve stressed that if you have been hurt by gossip talk to your Pastor. At the close of the program Steve prayed for those who have been hurt by lie’s and gossip.

Steve said that on KKIM, NM News and Views, people are getting news they will not hear anywhere else! That’s what we try to do is bring out the news that affects the Christian way of life! The Lord’s Supper is the heart and soul of Christian fellowship.

That Jesus instituted the Lord’s Supper as a perpetual memorial of his death until he returns is indicative of the importance this feast holds in the life of every Christian who is eager to maintain intimacy with the Savior. James 1:6 says we should pray with faith, or more specifically, we should pray without doubt. James must have remembered what it was like to sail during a time when ships were at the mercy of the winds and waves. He said, “the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.” Unstable. Back and forth in a constant state of disruption. Ugh—makes me sick. Doubt does that.

How are you doing this day?

If your going back and forth, if your going under the waves…..I can guarantee you it is because you are looking at the waves.( like the pitch and roll of your retirement funds! WHAT RETIREMENT FUNDS YOU SAY!!! LOL) Your listening to the howling wind. You are taking your cues from what others are saying or the way they are acting instead of keeping your mind stayed on Christ. Isaiah 26:3-4 says………

Oh LORD, Thank you I needed that this day!!! AMEN!!!

You will keep him in perfect peace. Whose mind is stayed on You,
Because he trusts in You.
Trust in the Lord forever,
For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength.

We just got word from Joe Rowe, he is asking for healing prayer for his Dear friend Martin Hoefler, who has what Doctor’s say is terminal cancer….let us go to prayer for healing for Martin! Let us pray over his entire family!

Also please pray for Ann Quest who was to have hip surgery yesterday. Please keep Ann in your prayers for healing!

Prayers answered after 16 years!!!!!!

I want to share with you a great story that happened yesterday!
I have been praying for over 16 years that I would get reconnected with my old best friend Marv Boone. I worked with Marv for years at WFRN Radio in South Bend/Elkhart Indiana. Marv was the news director. I had called Marv after he retired to Florida to tell him that my Mom had passed away, that was in Jan of 95. Then we moved to Albuquerque and them Marv and I lost track of each other and he moved about 3 times. Monday night I goggled his son Marvin Jr. and found his web site and a phone number and Marv’s daughter-in-law called with Marv’s number!!! PRAISE GOD!!!. I had been on the Internet many, many times in the last 16 years looking for Marv, and finally I found him! Thank you LORD! Marv will be 81 coming up next year and does not have a computer, no cell phone…..just a land line and he and his wife Shirley are very happy with that. Yes, Marv I miss that simple life also!! One of the main reasons I tell this story is that we need to be in continued prayer…..I have prayed on this for nearly 17 years!!! I never gave up brining this prayer to our LORD! Yesterday was the day the LORD decided to put us back together! PRAISE GOD!!!! We were and are best friends!!! I now can tell this: Marv and I would scoot away from the radio station someday’s for lunch and go to Marv’s home, which was nearby WFRN, and play a few games of start-o-matic Baseball. It is a board game that is still played today. A very realistic game. It would break up the day for Marv and I and we would eat a sandwhich and play a couple of games and get back in about an hour and 15 min. Marv and I sound like a couple of kid’s don’t we!!!!! LOL LOL I carry those days with me to this day….a time that seemed much simpler….slower…….and lot’s of fun! Then last night on NM News and Views I had Marv on with me, what a blessing!!!!

Thank you Lord for brining me and Marv back together! PRAISE GOD!
