We Must Expect God to Answer When We Ask

“If you want to know what God really wants you to do, ask him . . . but if you don’t ask in faith, don’t expect the Lord to give you any solid answer.” James 1:5-6 (LB)

God wants to direct you in life, but two things need to line up:
1 – You have to ask the right person—God.
2 – You have to ask with the right attitude. We must ask in faith, expecting that God will answer.
Have you ever asked God for something and didn’t expect to get it?
That may be why you didn’t get it!
God works in our lives according to faith. So many times we say, “God, please guide me!” But then, we walk away not even waiting for guidance. We just immediately start to work. We say, “God, I want you to give me wisdom, help me make the right decision.” But we don’t really expect Him to do that. We still think it all depends on us.
God promises to give us wisdom, if we will ask. Wisdom is seeing life from God’s point of view. Wisdom is the ability to make decisions the way God makes decisions.
Think about this: God never makes a bad decision. He never makes a mistake. He says if we trust him and listen to Him, he will guide us to make the right decisions. The key is asking in faith.

AWESOME words from Rick Warren!

Saturday night Sharon and I traveled to Los Alamos for the Hope Pregnancy Center Banquet. I had a fun time being MC of the event, Fmr. Congressman and Pastor Bill Redmond was the Featured Speaker, what an AWESOME presentation! Bill talked about how Germany, a Country of Faith before Hitler, sat still and let Hitler do his wicked ways, and the Church, for the most past just let the horrendous killings of the Jews go on. At the current rate 1 in 3 American Women will have an abortion. How long will the American Church stay on the side lines on this one? Over 50 million babies have been killed in America! President Lincoln said the Civil War was God’s judgement on America for Slavery, what is God’s judgement on America going to be for Abortion? Maybe we are experiencing part of that judgement now!

Rebecca Wilhoit the Director of Hope gave a wonderful presentation on what Hope is doing and what God is leading the Center to do, including opening a Pregnancy Center in the Espanola area! PRAISE GOD! PRAISE GOD!!! So much needed in the Espanola Valley!!!! Let us pray on that!

God showed me about 2pm Saturday what to say when I introduced Bill Redmond. A man who has served our country in Congress, from the pulpit, now working for Focus on the Family and with Chuck Colson’s organization. Bill has a special love for our Chinese Brother’s and Sister’s. He spear headed the Biblical World View Conference in Albuquerque brining Catholic’s, Protestants, and Evangelical’s together.

This is what I shared about Bill…….

Bill, is such a Man of God.He is so aligned with God……..

When I’m in Alignment with God……..

I will passionately bear with others for as long as patience is needed.

When I’m in Alignment with God………..

I do not demand others to be and or do what I want, but I’m so focused on the needs of others that I bend over backwards to become what others need. This fit’s Bill to a T!

When I’m in Alignment with God………

I am not ambitious, self-centered or so consumed with myself that I never think of the needs or desires that others have.

When I’m in Alignment with God………

I am seen as a Man of God!

Bill Redmond is a true Man of God…What a testimony to all of us!!!

Sharon and I were so blessed to see old friends, Pastor Glenn Strock of the Pecos Cowboy Church, Shona Neff and others, plus KKIM FM listeners that we had not met before! Sharon and I love getting out in the State of New Mexico!!! For God’s Glory Alone! Finding out as we travel around that New Mexico News and Views is widely listened to, even folks at the National Lab’s in Los Alamos are listening to us! For God’s Glory Alone!!! Thank you LORD!

Let us pray for Pastor Marvin Capehart,,The same can be said about this Dear Man of God as to what I said about Bill Redmond Frank Haley sent me this email on Friday…….

JANET SAIERS of Albq’s First Baptist Church spoke today to MARVIN

& JAN CAPEHART’s daughter Colleen. Following his September stroke,

Marvin had made progress but a recent blood clot sent him back to an

Amarillo hospital. They have only been back in Logan, NM a few days.

Marvin’s condition is not improving; he has lost a lot of weight

because he has no appetite. Colleen asks for prayer for her parents

and especially for her mother as she accepts Marvin’s declining

health.

God Will Come For You

“I heard a voice thunder from the Throne: ‘Look! Look! God has moved into the neighborhood, making his home with men and women! They’re his people, he’s their God’” (Rev. 21:3 MSG). The narrator makes the same point four times in four consecutive phrases:
“God has moved into the neighborhood”
“making his home with men and women”
“They’re his people”
“he’s their God”
The announcement comes with the energy of a six-year-old declaring the arrival of his father from a long trip. “Daddy’s home! He’s here! Mom, he’s back!” One statement won’t suffice. This is big news worthy of repetition. We shall finally see God face-to-face. “They shall see His face” (Rev. 22:4 NKJV).
Let this sink in. You will see the face of God. You will look into the eyes of the One who has always seen; you will behold the mouth that commands history. And if there is anything more amazing than the moment you see his face, it’s the moment he touches yours. “He will wipe away every tear from their eyes” (Rev. 21:4 NCV).

Sharon and I will be in Los Alamos on Saturday as I MC the Hope Pregnancy Center’s Banquet Saturday night. What a Blessing! The featured Speaker is Fmr Congressman and Pastor Bill Redmond. Sharon and I look forward to being there and hearing Bill speak!

Getting ready to travel to Asheville, NC next Thursday to take part in the Time To Revive Revival there. Please be praying. I will be doing live reports from there, starting Thursday afternoon on NM news and Views. Karen Rowe will be filling for me here at the CUP while I am gone. Pastor Leoanrd Navarre and Pastor Paul Holt will do the same at the Radio Ranch! Please pray on this trip and for Sharon and the kids and doggies as I go. By the way many of you have asked how Buffy is doing and she is doing wonderful!!! It means so much to us that you love and care for us all!

I am very thankful for all those that surround the Radio Ministry and CUP to help us keep going!

Dr. Joe Fawcett of Dallas long time friend of this Radio Ministry is going to give us health Tips from time to time, as he did the other day on the CUP! Dr. Joe has been on the air with me a couple times in the last week or so and he has been pouring out great info……we care about your health and we feel the Lord is calling us to spread the words of Dr. Joe! So as you drink this CUP look for Dr. Joe!

Lord Willing today on NM news and Views Alan Autry who played Bubba on the TV series, In the Heat of the Night, will be with us. Alan is now making Christian Movies and we thank Dr. Joe Fawcett for putting us together!

We also prayed over Staci, 18 years of age, who has been in a coma now for around 50 days. Angie, Staci’s Mother was also there and we prayed for her.

Please keep this in your prayers.

Better to remain silent and thought a fool, than to speak and remove all doubt!

The quiet words of the wise are more to be heeded than the shouts of a ruler of fools.

A little folly outweighs wisdom and honor.

Wisdom is better than strength. But the poor man’s wisdom is despised, and his words are no longer heeded. Pay attention to your mentor’s and accountability group. If you don’t have any mentor’s or an accountability group start one today!

In Proverbs 15:1, Solomon offered good advice: “A gentle answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.”

Acid Foods equals Body Inflammation

THURSDAY’S Guest “Barista” CUP

Hello Dear Readers of Dewey’s Daily Cup!

I am very honored to be your guest “barista” today, serving up today’s CUP. I have been drinking Dewey’s Daily CUP for over a year now. As with you, it’s part of my daily routine. Many of your names are familiar to me, though we’ve never met. Some I’ve been privileged to and count as new friends. I’m so thankful for the many “prayer warriors” that drink from this CUP. I’ve been on the receiving end of many of your prayers, and it’s means a lot. It’s made a difference. Please don’t stop.

As for Dewey, I love this man. I love his passion, compassion, conviction and tireless service for the Lord Jesus Christ. He doesn’t just write that nothing else matters to him but what Jesus has called him to…he lives that way. Just like my father-in-law, Pastor Jim Montoya, who first introduced me to Dewey a few years ago. I am so thankful to have these men in my life. They are friends, brothers, fathers…my pastors, so often the arms and voice of the Lord Jesus in my life. I offer my CUP to you today because of them.

Writing this CUP was therapeutic. I hope you will experience that, too, as you read it. The Lord has shown me that sometimes the best view we can have of what lies in front of us is to look at what now lies behind us. “From faith to faith…” is how the Bible puts that. This is what I’ve seen. This is what I see…

FEAR and DANCING
Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand. Isaiah 41:10
You might call this my “life verse”…at least it has been for the past 10 years. God first spoke it to me in 2001, during the dark days of my wife Pamela’s second miscarriage. In fear and desperation, I came across the verse and claimed it. Pamela and I needed it. We were now on the brink of going 2 for 2, so to speak – two pregnancies, two miscarriages. This, after negotiating a plan during pre-marriage counseling to ensure we didn’t have too many kids. Such power. Our second miscarriage was in process but hope was being held out that our baby could still survive. Pamela continued to spot. I remember lying in bed with her as she rested and briefly falling asleep. Immediately I began dreaming and saw Pamela and a little girl, together in an airport, waiting to board a plane. It felt so real. The little girl, I assumed, was our daughter. I awoke suddenly from the dream and took it to be assurance from God that all was okay. Our child would be born safe. I told Pamela about the dream and tried to relax.
The next day we made another trip to the hospital and the miscarriage was confirmed. No child, no daughter, no airport. No dream from God.
Fast forward to May 13th, 2003. Pamela has safely delivered our first born child via a very painful C-section and 24 hours of labor. Her name is Isabella. Because of what happened the first two times, our joy and expectation during the pregnancy had been somewhat tempered. 41 weeks later, we could finally exhale and embrace our precious gift from God. Since our marriage began in July 2000 our thoughts about children had gone from “How many?” to “Lord please, just one!” Here was one.
The following January, during Isabella’s dedication service, I read Psalm 30:11-12 to our church and family, trying to choke back the tears but failing:
You have turned for me my mourning into dancing; You have put off my sackcloth and clothed me with gladness, to the end that my glory may sing praise to You and not be silent. O LORD my God, I will give thanks to You forever. Psalm 30:11-12

Truly God had turned our mourning in to dancing! And our dancing over Isabella continues to this day, 8 years later. Since that time, God has blessed us with two more beautiful reasons to dance – Antonio, born in 2005, and Andres, born in 2009. Nor more miscarriages, thank God, but the pain of never meeting our two beautiful first children remains. That joyful meeting will take place in Jesus’ house!

Now another story related to Isaiah 41:10. This story is still being written. On June 12th, 2011 I was helping out the Open Door Church of God at a park Revival service in Los Lunas. I was part of a group praying for those in need of healing. I bent to sit in a chair and immediately felt an all too familiar twinge in my lower back. My lower back had gone out – a fearful and frequent occurrence since having surgery for a ruptured disc in 1997. Exasperated, I asked some pastors there to anoint me with oil and pray for my healing. What irony. The back continued to tighten and by evening was spasming. Having experienced this many times before, I prepared myself for the usual ritual – a week or two of pain and tightness and then back to what passes for “normal” for one with a bad back.
Four months later and I’m still not back to “normal”. The pain and tightness remain. A second visit to a pain management specialist last week included talk of joint injection shots and possible disc replacement surgery. Treatment options will depend on how much pain I can live with, which supposedly will only get worse as I age. Before seeing the pain management specialist, the Lord again reminded me of Isaiah 41:10. I took courage and started praying it positively. “I am not fearful, for You are with me. I am not dismayed, for You are my God. You will strengthen me. Yes, You will help me. You will uphold me with Your righteous right hand.” I went in to that appointment hopeful. I came out deflated.
Now what? I’ve done everything physically and spiritually I know to get better. I’ve intensely studied Biblical healing and acted upon it. Friends, family and people I’ve never met have prayed and continue to pray. My wife and kids uphold me daily. Isabella firmly believes I will be healed but was in tears after my last appointment. I want this for her as much as myself. Homeopathic treatment is being added. A visit to a different back specialist for another evaluation is scheduled. Facet joint injection shots are scheduled. Daily exercise prescribed at physical therapy continues. And my spirit is sustained daily by His Spirit, Word and the body of Christ.
