Dear KKIM/KARS Family,
May God be with you and yours this day!
On this day where part’s of Northern New Mexico will be getting snow, let us drink a great CUP…….
God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of sound mind. 2 Tim 1:7
“When God is ready to promote the born-again believer, He begins first with Character. Character needs to be at a higher standard than callings and gifting’s so that God can entrust His people with more ministry or more responsibility.” Barbara Gould in her new book, “Greater Glory”
What an amazing day yesterday! Two great TV tapings and Janice E Arnold Jones on NM news and Views. On the TV program our guests were two prayer warriors, Celina Lucero of KKIM/KARS and Barbara Gould of Emmanuel Ministries. (7:30am Saturdays on KKIM) Both these strong women of faith were such a blessing to have with us, you can see program number 1 with Celina this Saturday at 6pm and Sunday at 7pm on KAZQ Ch 32 and then Barbara on the Following weekend same times. Barbara also shares about her new book, “Greater Glory” talking about brining balance to the Church and maintaining the Glory.
By the way I need to mention, and probably should have sooner, that the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas which has been funding the TV program Dewey and Friends is no longer able to fund it. Pastor Ray Franks at KAZQ has worked with us but at this point if we do not have people come forward to help with the funding of the program it will go off the air. This program has brought many ministries to the forefront, it has been a non-denominational outreach. If you would like to help keep this program on KAZQ please email me. God Bless you! I hate the money part about Ministry! Much thanks for the leadership of Pastor Jim Montoya and all those of the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas for their faithfulness in starting and funding this program! My prayer is that the program will be able to continue and now we ask for you prayers and support, even thou I have a face for radio!!!!!!! LOL LOL
On NM News and Views yesterday Janice E. Arnold Jones shared her thoughts on the news of the day and gave an update on her run for Congress. Lord Willing Janice will also be at the Nation In Crises Conference with Dr. Larry Bates, Chuck Bates, and Larry Pratt in Albuquerque on Nov. 5. We are also holding the Conference in Santa Fe this year on Nov. 3rd. For more details go to www.mykkim.com Janice looked at the World economy and said it looks like there is a very good chance of an economic collapse in Europe that will be felt in the United States. Huge meeting today in Europe that we need to pray over. We also talked about the Catholic Church wanting a World Bank to rule over the World’s finances, which sure has not been reported on much if at all by the secular media. Dr. Larry Bates visit is very timely with all these events going on. Let us pray.
I leave in the morning for the Time To Revive Revival in Asheville, NC. Your prayers are much appreciated. I will be reporting in live on NM News and Views, Lord Willing Thursday and Friday. Karen Rowe will be filling in for me here at the CUP and Pastor Leonard, Pastor Paul Holt and Justin Johnson will be filling in for me at the Radio Ranch.
Got a call from Jeanell of the Lighthouse Church in Chimayo yesterday asking if I would fill in for Pastor Kevin. Would love to but going out of Town. Jeanell shared with me these prayer needs: Please pray for Pastor Kevin who is undergoing some medical tests and also please pray for 24 year old Karen who suffered a drug overdose and is in very serious condition. Karen has a 7 year old boy. The Doctor’s do not give Karen much of a chance, but we know who the Physician is in our lives! AMEN! Please pray for Karen…..just think just 24 years old…and pray for Pastor Kevin and also Jeanell’s family as her Mother is still ill and it has been a very emotional journey for the family. Let us keep all these matters in our prayers.
I love what I shared yesterday on prayer from Samuel Chadwick: To pray in the Name of Christ is to pray as one who is at one with Christ.
Let us pray on this Prayer request from a Mother who Reads the CUP, this family is in need of our prayers…….first let me share with you this reminder about prayer….I have shared it many times but it is so important to read from time to time………
Prayer is the essence of the Spiritual life without which all ministry loses its meaning. It is the fulfillment of the great commandment to love the Lord with all our heart, all our soul and all our mind…..To pray is to unite ourselves with Jesus and lift up the whole world through Him to God in a cry of forgiveness, reconciliation, healing, and mercy….Most of all, prayer is the way to become and remain part of Jesus mission to draw all people to the intimacy of God’s love.” by Henri Nouwen, The Only Necessary Thing: Living a Prayerful Life
Now let us turn to our friend and hear about this need of prayer for Stephen…….
My oldest son, Stephen, is 21 years old. He gave his life to Christ as a child and followed in water baptism. When he was 16, we went on a short-term missions trip to Cameroon, Africa and I saw how the Lord wanted to use him to minister. After we returned, I saw him drifting away from the Lord.
Since that time, I prayed and prayed for Stephen to turn to the Lord “with all his heart, all his soul, all his mind and all his strength.” (Matt 22:37; Deut 6:5) I also prayed that God would block his path, hedge him in so that he could no longer go his own way (based on Hosea 2:6).
In April, Stephen went his own way, and as a result he has been incarcerated on two serious felony charges on $1.25 million bond since June 2011.
God reassured me that HE has answered my prayer (and the prayers of others who joined me) and to trust HIM with Stephen. I sent Stephen a study Bible. He has repented of all his sins and turned back to God. He recognized the Lord allowed this to happen so he would seek God. Now he gets excited about studying the Bible and writes to me about what God shows him in the Word and talks about it with me on the phone when he calls. The Lord has stopped Stephen from pursuing his own way by confining him in the County Jail while pending trial.
We’re trusting God to work things out for Stephen. “As we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose.” (Rom 8:28) We went to visit him a few weeks ago (which it is a six hour drive each way) and his countenance is softer as he definitely is spending time with the Lord. He’s even having Bible study with a couple of men in his cell block.
After visiting with Stephen’s attorney (which we have sacrificed our savings/retirement to acquire), we feel confident based on the statements we’ve read and lab reports that confirms what Stephen stated in the very beginning…he was at the wrong place at the wrong time. Our prayers do go out to the victims and their families. The attorney feels confident we have a good defense. But no matter what happens, we believe he is not guilty of the heinous crimes he’s accused of and we trust God to be His defender and Jesus is his Advocate.
Based on the following Scripture references I feel the Lord has led me to, I’m trusting God to release Stephen in due season and to be fully acquitted. This is my prayer based on the following promises of God.
2 Chronicles 33:10-13
Isaiah 43
Psalm 37:32-33
Jeremiah 29:11-13
Jeremiah 40:1-4
This is the toughest situation I’ve been through, but I give God all the glory.
I appreciate you joining me in lifting Stephen up in prayer. Stephen’s trial date is set for Jan 17, 2012.
My Dear friends I thank the LORD for the faith of this Mother in our Lord, I thank the LORD for the love this Mother has for her son, I thank the LORD that she can turn to us for prayers. I talked to her this morning and I said let us all gather together in prayer for Stephen and lift him up to the LORD! I am anticipating great things for Stephen and this family. Let us Prayer Warriors now go into prayer for Stephen and family. Also I want to share with you that this family has a solid Church family with them which I am thankful for this Pastor and his Congregation. Dear CUP family this is what we do best, hold people up in prayer! Thank you to Stephen’s Mom for allowing us to pray!
Here is a note from Celina Lucero……
Thank you Dewey for your labor of love…
Here’s a book I recommend highly!! God’s intention for our life is to bless us abundantly in every area of our lives.
The PRAYER of JABEZ.
Breaking Through To The Blessed Life.
– Bruce Wilkinson
It’s when you trust yourself in the mainstream of God’s plans for this world—which are beyond our ability to accomplish—and plead with Him, Lord, use me—give me more ministry for You! –that you release miracles. At that moment heaven sends angels, resources, strength, and the people you need. I’ve seen it happen hundreds of times. God always intervenes when you put His agenda before yours and go for it! Amazingly, if you have prayed to the Lord to expand a border, you will recognize His divine answer. You’ll have a front – row seat in a life of miracles.
Thank you for sharing Celina!!!
Got this note from Grace after I shared yesterday about Spiritual Warfare and Satan trying to get in the way of my trip to Asheville…..
Dewey – By the grace of God, you already carry within you all that you need to overcome and be victorious. This is also what makes us a target, sad to say. But as you said, you must be on the brink of something good or you wouldn’t be under fire. You can take comfort in the fact that the Lord walks with you on this rocky path. You will emerge victorious because that is God’s will.
So fear not, my friend. You are more than a conquerer! You will overcome and others will learn from your victory. In the mean time, I pray that God shield you, guide you, bless you and protect you. May He grant you peace and discernment, bless your path and infuse you with His light. You are blessed because you walk in the Spirit. Rest in that and know God holds you in the palm of His all-powerful hand!
Love and blessings to you Sir. And safe journey!
Grace Cordova
Thanks Grace. On Nov. 11th I am so blessed to be the Pastor at Grace’s and her husband to be Peter’s wedding! Please pray for this couple as they prepare for this Holy day! PRAISE GOD!
Dr. Joe has his Medical bag full of info for us this morning……….
Acid Foods equals Body Inflammation (Part 4)
You don’t have to cut out every acid-forming food: Citrus fruits and yogurt, for example, provide nutrients crucial to a well-rounded diet. Rely on the way you feel to judge whether or not an alkaline diet is working for you. If you feel fatigued during the day, avoid starches and stick with vegetables. If you can’t get to sleep, eat carbs at night, which may help you to fall asleep.
Since an acidic diet breaks down bone and muscle, those at risk for osteoporosis and muscle wasting due to age, stand to benefit the most from an alkaline diet. People with digestive issues and ulcers may also benefit with more alkalizing foods in cooked form.
People who switch to alkaline foods often feel better within a week. You may have a headache period the first week as you go through junk-food withdrawal, but you’ll end up feeling a whole lot better.

It seems that citrus fruits should have an acidifying effect on the body; the citric acid they contain actually has an alkalinizing effect in the system. Lemonade is acidic, but lemon squeezed into a glass is not. The sugar added to lemonade makes it acidic.
Try this for breakfast: A veggie omelet containing eggs and veggies. The veggies contain digestive enzymes that break down the eggs.
A food’s acid or alkaline forming tendency in the body has nothing to do with the actual pH of the food itself. For example, lemons are very acidic; however the end products they produce after digestion and assimilation are very alkaline so, lemons are alkaline forming in the body. Likewise, meat will test alkaline before digestion, but it leaves very acidic residue in the body so, like nearly all animal products, meat is very acid forming. Packaged foods are at the top of the acidity scale and should be limited. Fresh red beets, alfalfa, celery, cilantro, jicama and sprouts top the most-alkaline list.
Give these quick, high-alkaline snacks a try:
<!–[if !supportLists]–>· <!–[endif]–>A smoothie with coconut water, mango, blueberries and or avocado and whey protein powder (if you can’t tolerate whey use hemp or rice protein).
<!–[if !supportLists]–>· <!–[endif]–>A juice of celery, parsley, carrots, beets, apples and ginger.
Increased energy, greater mental clarity and more restful sleep: All these – and better overall health and well-being – will be your rewards for a more alkali way of eating.
This concludes my “Acid vs. Alkaline” series.
