Dear KKIM/KARS Family
Oh my friends………My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus…..Acts 20:24……
The work the Lord has given me to do is be here everyday writing the CUP now for almost what 13 years or longer…..talking to you on the radio for 35 years…being Pastor over KKIM/KARS for nearly 6 years now….being Associate Pastor at the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas now for 2 years……it is the work the Lord has assigned me…….I pray for those who have not found what God wants them to do with their life.
There is much POWER in our LORD knowing what HE wants us to do.
In this CUP we talk about that and mentorship…….and avoiding being Shipwrecked!
It has been Prophesied over me that I am to be a, Watchman on the wall…….a Town Crier……..A Pastor….an encourager…….. so that is what I do.Pray for me and Sharon as we go into 2012…..pray for protection, Godly wisdom, for our family, strength and good health, no shipwrecks…..We go on in the POWER of our LORD! Thank you so much for your prayers……we thank you from the bottom of our hearts!
One of the greatest things about the CUP is coming together each day knowing we are praying for each other!
Here is Max Lucado…….
Here I am! I stand
at the door and knock.
Revelation 3:20
Some of the saddest words on earth are: “We don’t have room for you.”
Jesus knew the sound of those words. He was still in Mary’s womb when the innkeeper said, “We don’t have room for you.” …
And when he was hung on the cross, wasn’t the message one of utter rejection? “We don’t have room for you in this world.”
Even today Jesus is given the same treatment. He goes from heart to heart, asking if he might enter.…
Every so often, he is welcomed. Someone throws open the door of his or her heart and invites him to stay. And to that person Jesus gives this great promise: … “In my father’s house are many rooms.” …
What a delightful promise he makes us! We make room for him in our hearts, and he makes room for us in his house.
Merry Christmas! I just like typing those words! I just LOVE shouting them out!
Sunday we sent out a bunch of hand written Christmas Cards…it has been maybe 4 years since we sent cards! It was very peaceful in doing so…….sent to family but also old friends that I wanted to touch this Christmas, Coaches, School Teachers, still living back home that had such a huge impact on my life, lessons that I carry with me this day!
Paul Dokken who the Lord put back in my life about what, Paul ,2 years ago now? has had a tremendous affect on my life by the way he walks with Jesus. Paul and I went to School together, His Dad was a Doctor in our small town, I was their paper boy! Paul and I reconnected and now Paul and his wife Rene are Ministering to my brother Daryl in South Dakota! What an impact they have had on Daryl’s life…..Many would say, if not all, that Daryl has nothing to offer Paul and Rene. They have traveled miles to go see Daryl. They go out of their way.
They go out of their way……..remember yesterday when I wrote about stretching our arms out for JESUS?
Touching others for JESUS?
Meeting people where they are at?
That is true Ministry…….Meeting people where they are at.
Daryl has struggled for 20 years…………Paul and Rene see a child of God when they look at Daryl. They see hope in JESUS CHRIST…..many have given up on Daryl…….but not God………not Paul and Rene……….
I encourage you this day to look around yourself……..there are Daryl’s all around struggling………many have no family….no inn to stay in………they have been discarded by society……
God has not given up on them and neither should we………
Paul and Rene sent me a gift a book written by their Pastor, Steve Hickey. Pastor Steve founded Harvest Church in Sioux Falls, SD in 1994. he founded RAM, (Regional Apostolic Mobilization) as a vehicle to establish the Kingdom of God on the Northern Plains.
The book is titled, Obtainable Destiny, Molding and Mobilizing today’s Apostolic People.
WOW! I just started reading it here at 4:30am…….it is AWESOME!
Pastor Steve writes this……..and I it ties in with what I shared yesterday about Chuck Colson saying the Church has watered down the Gospel…..
Pastor Steve says….For us today the Bible, the printed Word of God is infallible, meaning there is nothing in the Bible that will cause you to fall spiritually.
There is no error or anything misleading that might result in one being shipwrecked.
Great words from Pastor Steve!!! I want to interview him on the radio……..
Pastor Steve confirms what Chuck Colson shared with us yesterday……..
He writes…..But truth be told, far too many do not have a grasp on God’s Word. Many Christians cannot name more than five of the Ten Commandments and only a few can turn to right where they are found. Colson said the exact same thing!
Church, we have work to do!
Chapter 8 in the book is titled, Guided by God’s Voice…….
Timothy, my son, I give you this instruction in keeping with prophecies once made about you, so that by following them you may fight the good fight, holding on to faith and a good conscience. Some have rejected these and so have shipwrecked their faith. Among them are Hymenaeus and Alexander, whom I have handed over to satan to be taught not to blaspheme. 1 Tim 1: 18-20
The words of Paul…..
Paul was quite familiar with Shipwrecks, so it is no surprise that he uses them as a metaphor in these verses. In 2 Corinthians 11:25, Paul tells us he would have been shipwrecked three times. We can read vivid detail in Acts 27 what happened on one occasion. You can just imagine Paul in a sinking ship seeing these analogies to the Christian life.
You hear me all the time on the Radio and in the CUP talking about the mentor’s in my life..in Sharon’s life…….they help us avoid being shipwrecked.
Pastor Steve writes we all need to be mentored in the Lord by someone who is more seasoned than ourselves. In verse eighteen, Paul again refers to “Timothy, my son.” Paul was Timothy’s spiritual father. Who is yours?
Have you put yourself under someone more spiritually mature than yourself?
If you have not….it may be one of the greatest gift’s you can give yourself this Christmas.
Too many people go off….as we used to say back home, “half cocked” and make bad decisions.
I Praise God for the mentor’s you have in your life and if you do not have mentor’s in your life I am praying that you will seek, and you shall find.

let’s get today’s Medical Bag from Dr. Joe…….
For good gum health, brush your teeth at least twice a day for two minutes. Even better, brush after every meal if you can. And floss daily. The key is to keep dental plaque — that sticky, bacteria-filled film that forms on teeth — from building up and causing gingivitis and periodontal disease. Research shows that spending at least two minutes brushing each cleaning session is ideal for removing plaque.
Perhaps no dental debate is more hotly contested than the power vs. manual toothbrush discussion. Even scientists are trying to shed light on which tool works best. But a review of studies gives only a modest edge to power brushes – with more research needed for conclusive answers.
So while experts continue to debate, there is one point on which they agree: Timing is everything. You can remove most of the plaque on your teeth with just about any brush – as long as you work it over all surfaces for no less than2 minutes, twice a day. And floss at least once.
If you’re saying, “Just 2 minutes? No problem. Got it covered,” get yourself a kitchen timer for the bathroom, and check yourself. Research shows that people overestimate their tooth brushing time. In one survey, dentists found that people who report brushing for a little more than 2 minutes – and that’s only about a third of patients – are typically half a minute short of that goal in reality.
Research does show that power brushers have an edge over manual brushers in that all-important arena of time. Electric-brush users seem more motivated to brush for the amount of time required for optimal plaque removal. In a study, only 17% of people using a manual brush met the 2 minute guideline, while 66% of electric-brush users did. And every second counts. Brushing for 2 minutes removes 26% more plaque than 45 seconds of brushing does. And brushing longer is even better.
You can pay a lot for an electric brush with all the bells and whistles, including sensors that stop the brush from pulsating if you brush too hard, multiple settings (including massage), and timers that signal when your brush time is up. Or you can go with a bare-bones variety and save some bucks. Whatever you choose, know this: motion matters. An oscillating, rotating power brush is a bit better at plaque removal than a side-to-side vibrating one.
If a manual brush better suits your needs, you’ve got a plethora of head, handle, and bristle styles to choose from. Not to mention color choices. Some brush options are purely aesthetic (elegant tortoise-shell handle, anyone?), while others have a definite purpose. If you’ve got a small mouth, you’ll likely feel more comfortable with a small brush head. If arthritis or injury has weakened your grip, a fat handle may be easier to maneuver.
Got implants or braces? There are special skinny brushes designed to get into nooks and crannies. Some manual brushes have timers as well, to help you reach the 2-minute mark. There’s even a “green” brush that allows you to use the same handle but replace only the head when needed, minimizing waste.
Expect a bit of trial and error as you try to find the brush that best fits your mouth and life. But keep these three rules in mind when you shop for a toothbrush:
– Bigger is not necessarily better. What matters is that you’re able to reach all your teeth.
– Stiff, hard bristles can hurt your gums.
– You’ll need to replace your brush in 3 to 4 months — or sooner if the bristles fray.
If you have any questions about head size, shape, or softness, ask your dentist or dental hygienist what you should use.
Thanks Dr. Joe!
