Last night I paid a visit to Presbyterian Hospital here in Albuquerque to visit little Dominic Lopez who is recovering from that near fatal asthma attack. He is recovering well. Doctor’s are pleased with his progress. This whole episode has affected Dom’s speech and balance. He is headed to rehab today to Anna Kaseman Hospital. Please continue to pray for him. Just think my friends he lost his Dad to suicide in October, so at this time he is also grieving that huge loss in his life.
Please pray for Jim Hofflander in Mankato, Minn. He was in the Hospital last night battling depression. I talked to Jim last night on the way home from the Hospital.
It seems to me in the phone calls I get more and more people are fighting depression.
Let us pray on that.
Also let us pray on the following……….I share this to pray for Sherry and also to share the love and hurt of the Sidney, Montana Community……….Sidney is just over 5,000 people I am told now, but when I lived there in the late 70’s I was thinking it was near 7,000….anyhow over 1,000 people have taken part in the search for Sherry, a beloved School Teacher……….The Church is even coming together at this time…….We have Readers of the CUP that live in Sidney! Let us pray over this……..

Efforts to locate the missing Sidney High School math teacher, Sherry Arnold, continued Monday and Tuesday as law enforcement met at the Richland County Fairgrounds Event Center to decide where to concentrate.
Sidney Police Chief Frank DiFonzo stressed Tuesday morning that authorities aren’t leaning toward an abduction case.
“It could be an abduction or it could be she got hurt and disoriented and wandered off,” DiFonzo said. “I’m not saying it’s one or the other.”
The FBI has joined the efforts to locate the Sidney teacher. DiFonzo says the FBI is now the lead investigative agency on the case.
“We will assist them anyway we can,” DiFonzo said. “We don’t have their experience in these type of cases.”
Searchers went as far as Fairview Monday. The plan was to extend the search south and west on Tuesday.
“We’re just hoping and praying we can find Sherry, and we can find her safe,” DiFonzo said.
He urged residents to take note of anything that might appear strange in their neighorhoods and report it to the police department, 433-2210.
“Again, look everywhere on your property to see if something isn’t normal,” DiFonzo said.
Over the weekend, a massive search party composed of several hundred civilians and law enforcement on foot, horse, four-wheeler and in the air scoured every section of the city.
On Monday, Sidney Assistant Police Chief Bob Burnison said officials would continue the search northeast of Sidney and expand into the county. Local law enforcement and county fire departments were joined by officials from Roosevelt, McCone and Valley counties as well as Williston and Watford City police and the U.S. Border Patrol. The Richland County Fair Event Center was designated as the information center Monday, after a weekend at the Sidney High School gymnasium.
A group of civilian volunteers grew Monday morning at the Richland County Fair Event Center and were awaiting instruction from search and rescue coordinators. Some had arrived to offer their services such as ATVs. Burnison said there was enough physical help to go on the search, but anyone who would like to assist should call local law enforcement at 433-2210 and leave their contact information in case authorities need extra manpower.
Arnold was last seen at 6:30 a.m. Saturday when she left home for her normal morning run. Within hours 100 volunteers were out searching for the 43-year-old teacher, searching city streets, fields and following the irrigation canal, hoping to discover a clue to her disappearance.
At one point Sunday at least 1,000 people had shown up to help in the search and rescue, but the number was reduced when authorities sent people home in order to control the groups.
Teams of 20-30 were sent by bus to scavenge the city a couple hours at a time and when they were done, they returned for refreshments before heading out to a different location.
Arnold is described as 5’10”, 140 pounds, short brown hair, brown eyes and has an athletic build. She was last seen wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt, red tearaway pants with blue stripes, black mittens and headband. On Saturday evening, a shoe was discovered now believed to belong to Arnold. Burnison said law enforcement officials have not named foul play as a factor, instead focusing on collecting information.
“We’re still in the mode of missing person, so we have to deal with that situation,” he said.
Authorities were busy Monday conducting interviews, collecting any surveillance tapes and seeking out possible witnesses. Law enforcement classified Arnold as a missing persons case on Sunday and had downloaded her case into the national system. Authorities have been notified across Montana, North Dakota and surrounding areas.
Sidney Superintendent of School Daniel Farr has kept in touch with Arnold’s family and says they are “holding up at this point. But for right now I think everybody’s respecting their privacy and the extended family to get through a very difficult situation.”
Sidney schools’ staff members held a meeting on Sunday to make plans for this week. Classes resumed Monday so parents of search and rescue teams did not have to worry about their children’s well-being. Farr said the schools were prepared to work with students who need someone to talk to. Support staff and counselors have been available to students. The schools were also assembling updates for the students to share with parents to curb false rumors that may be spreading as well as prevent an emotional roller coaster of sorts.
Farr said the school district has offered transportation services for use of the buses and shower facilities for those who are involved in the searches.
A fund has been set up through the Sidney Public Schools administration office for those who wish to aid in the search and rescue operation. The public can call the office at 433-4080, or drop off or mail a check to 200 Third Ave. S.E.
Shelly Warner, a volunteer working in the kitchen at the Fair’s Event Center, said “tons” of people had donated food to the cause. In addition to numerous individuals, the following businesses have donated food: Reese & Ray’s IGA, Reynolds Market, Fairview Super Valu, South 40, Blue Rock, Eastmont, ElectricLand, Party Central, Farm & Home, B&B Builders, Tri-County Implement, McDonald’s, Millers’ Corner, Baker Boy, M3 Meats, Mojo’s and Trinity Lutheran Church. Warner said there was enough food.
Burnison thanked the public for their support. “I’ve never seen this before,” he said.
Pella Lutheran Church is offering a special service at 7 p.m. Thursday for the public and especially for school staff. The church’s youth group will meet at 6:30 p.m. Wednesday (today), and all students are invited.
Let us be in constant prayer over Sherry and all the people in Sidney. Yesterday the Town had a HUGE fire that destroyed a favorite eating establishment. Very tough time in Sidney.
I love the Town of Sidney and know some people in the Town yet…it has a special pace in my heart..that is where I started in radio!
Thanks to Carol Crossland for sharing!!!!!!!!!
At last, the Dummies series is tackling the latest phenomena called TEBOWING. It’s not just for the superstars, now it’s for you too! Learn how not to be pen…
“Fear looks; FAITH JUMPS! faith never fails to obtain it’s object! if I leave you as I found you, I am not God’s channel. I am not here to entertain you, but to get you to the place where you can laugh at the impossible!”
Those are the word’s of Smith Wigglesworth. I have to say that the LORD has really worked on me in regarding fear…….I also take it to heart and I pray that we all will, not to leave people where we found them at……meaning…..I pray for every person we the family of JESUS CHRIST meet, we leave them stronger……..we have a HEAVENLY IMPACT on their life……..we show them the LOVE OF JESUS CHRIST!!!! We dare not leave people where we found them…….GOD will not honor that.
I was young, and now I am old, but I have never seen good people left helpless or their children begging for food. Psalm 37:25
What are you worried about?
We worry about the IRS, the SAT, and the TSA!
We worry that we won’t have enough money. And when we have enough money, we worry that we won’t manage it well.
We worry that the world will end before the parking meter expires. We worry what the dog thinks if he sees us step out of the shower. We worry that someday we’ll learn that fat-free yogurt was fattening!
Honestly now. Did God save you so you would fret? Would he teach you to walk just to watch you fall?
Would he be nailed to the cross for your sins and then disregard your prayers? Come on!
Is scripture teasing us when it reads, “He has put his angels in charge of you to watch over you wherever you go?” (Psalm 91:11)
I don’t think so either!
Dewey!
Early morning Blessings to my Broadcast colleagues @ the Daily Cup!! I’m a very early riser myself (3am) but am always AMAZED at how much info & encouragement you get out of your keyboard at SUCH an early hour of the day! I realize you always give ALL the Glory to God, but want you to know I greatly appreciate & Enjoy your input & Spirit!
Due to my work schedule, I’m not able to read All the newsletter Every day…but I sure do try.
Your subject of Mentor’s today caught my attention on several levels. I’ve been mentoring young men in jail for the past 5 years. I teach a weekly Bible study at the BernCo Juvenile Detention Center & am very involved in the Life Quest Ministry. LQ is designed to place Mentors, life skills & job training with these young men as they return to society. I myself have benefited from having Mentors. Interestingly, my two biggest Spiritual Mentors are 10 & 15 years YOUNGER than me! God has humbled me greatly, and allowed me to learn & absorb from these two dynamic young Pastors, Dave Rowe & Justin Marbry.
There are two things I want to let you know about.
1. This weekend, “Men’s Movement” is gathering Adult Christian Men to meet with Youngsters in need of mentoring. It is a day designed to Encourage Christian Men to consider becoming Mentors on a regular basis. The event is Saturday at YDI in the Old Wool Warehouse from 9:30-Noon. I will be there as a participant and one of the Speakers. I KNOW Jose Munoz (the organizer) would love the chance to get a few minutes On Air with you this week if possible.
2. I have joined New Covenant Church (on Paseo del Norte) as a Pastor, serving under Senior Pastor Dave Rowe. I am leading the Men’s Ministry, which will Kick Off the year with a Saturday morning get together January 21st at 8am. This is all in response to a Calling God placed in my heart 4-5 years ago. I have been studying to become a Pastor for the past 3 years, & I’m VERY excited about what God will do with this new ministry!
If there is ever the opportunity to Share with you & your listeners about How this new direction in my life came to be, I’d love to come on air with you.
May God bless & protect you!
Steve Stucker
God Bless you Steve, and we would love to have you on air and also Jose Munoz.
Folks, if you want additional info on these events that Steve has shared just email me and I will get you the info. We also will be talking about them on KKIM/KARS.
I emailed Steve and told him his note made me weep……We all need encouragement…….Kind words are like honey—-sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24
Let us today pour out the HONEY OF JESUS CHRIST to all!
Here is a note from Pastor Steve Freeman……..
Life verse
Jesus speaking; for I have come to serve not to be served, to be poured out as a drink offering.
In the first part of my walk with the Lord I would remember the first part of this verse and think, that’s me. I can do this to serve another person and not be served. Then one day as I was using this verse to teach on I was forced to re-read the whole verse and all I could do was to cry. Can I really be poured out like a drink offering? No only Jesus could do this for me and my sins. My walk is deeper because of just reading that one verse and being convicted by the power of the Holy Spirit!
Steve Freeman
Thank you Steve! God Bless you!
I just love this Devotional………WOW! It sure ties in with our 40th year here at KKIM! LET US GO FOR THE GOLD!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! FIRE UP MY FRIENDS FOR JESUS CHRIST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

January 11, 2012. You came closer to Me when you began to offer thanksgiving privately to Me. Then still closer when you became bold enough to offer thanksgiving publicly in church. Remember? That was when you clapped your hands out loud in exuberance as you gave thanksgiving to Me, your Lord God. You walked through My gates which led to My throne room. Pretty soon you went from thanksgiving in the gates to praise while entering My courts. It is in the courts that you want to one day walk through the door of My most holy place, the throne room and most holy altar of God. I have seen you and your pastor both kneel under the altar in high worship. You began this many years ago but now there is one more. I want there to be conclave and assembly at and under My altar. Pray about it. Let’s go for the gold!

These are in accordance with the working of the strength of His might which He brought about in Christ, when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come.” Colossians 3:1 (AMP) “IF THEN you have been raised with Christ [to a new life, Subscribe to “What the Lord Is Saying Today” January 11, 2012. Let’s check today’s Medical bag with Dr. Joe!
Eye Floaters are tiny dark (black or gray) specks that can be seen in your field of vision, especially when you look at a blue sky, a white wall or any other uninterrupted, light colored expanse. They are created when tiny clumps form in the clear, jelly-like substance (the ‘vitreous humour’) inside the eyeball.
As these tiny floaters are suspended in this “jelly”, they move when your eyeball moves. As a result, if you try to look directly at them, they may appear to disappear from sight.
There are numerous causes of eye floaters. The first and most frequent is natural aging of the vitreous humor. As we age, our vitreous tends to liquefy leading to new eye floaters. Floaters tend to become more prolific the older we get, because the vitreous humour degenerates with advancing years and pulls slightly away from the retina. This separation of vitreous humour from the retina can cause small shreds of jelly to break off and form more floaters. At first, this can be irritating. Over time, the brain usually becomes accustomed to the floaters and may decide not to “inform” you of their presence. The longer you’ve had them, the less you’ll see them.
Many patients have reported that after hitting their head they suddenly see floaters. Others report that consuming medications such as Viagra, Roaccuttane, skin treatment drugs, weight loss pills, mental recovery medicine and certain illegal drugs can cause floaters. Intense anger and high blood pressure can both lead to eye floaters as well.
It’s important that you try to keep your body as prescription drug-free as possible. We do not know all the causes, but the best way to prevent any further floaters is by living a healthy life.
Floaters can come in different sizes and shapes. Some look like little dots, while others appear like threads or little hairy clumps. In most cases, floaters are normal and harmless. But, a sudden increase in their number might indicate damage to particular internal structures of the eye. This requires immediate professional attention. Everyone can see floaters: kids, babies, women, men, etc… even animals are known to develop eye floaters.
The characteristics of floaters depend on the individual, but can include:
-Different shapes, such as tiny spots, flecks, threads or webs.
-Particularly visible when looking at an uninterrupted light background, such as a blue sky.
-They move as the eyes move, often with a slight lag.
-Large floaters can present diminished areas of vision (but this is very rare).
In the majority of cases, floaters are not something to worry about. But, if you see flashes of light or experience a sudden increase in floaters it’s time to consult an eye doctor as soon as possible.
The only other way in which eye floaters could be dangerous is if during any physical activity your floaters pull on your retina. The pushing and pulling of the floaters could cause a retinal detachment in the long term.
We don’t know all the causes of floaters, but we do know that computers; like reading or watching TV, won’t increase the number of floaters you see in any way. Computers are likely to cause you eye strain and fatigue leading to a greater likelihood of noticing eye floaters. Computer use also causes more pronounced after-images, which people tend to associate with floaters. You should take care of your eyes when using the computer or watching TV. Some recommendations:
-Get a big monitor and increase its brightness. If you are struggling to see text, then your eyes will take their toll. Get glasses if you can’t read.
-Your eyes should be slightly above the monitor and you should be looking down to see it.
-Having additional light really helps. Try having two lamps, one to the right and one to the left. If possible sit near a window so you can take breaks and look to a far-away object frequently.
-Have breaks.
“Flashes of light” are greenish images that can be seen even when the eyes are closed. They mean that a floater might be pulling on the retina or that there is something harming it. While the retina cannot cause direct pain, the brain transmits the flashes to warn that something is wrong. Some people see flashes right after doing exercise and this is not dangerous. Flashes of light are mostly dangerous when they appear suddenly without any sort of “provocation” such as sudden moves, etc. If you are sitting, watching TV, etc. and see a flasher “suddenly” then you should contact a doctor immediately. Even if you see it after doing exercise, you should also contact a doctor. Flashes can mean something much more serious.
The “natural cure or treatment” for floaters (you never want to have surgery for them) is to eat a diet rich in vegetables, greens, fruits and with plenty of protein. You must exercise. And you MUST stop thinking about your “floaters”. Ignore them! Don’t even think about the word “floaters” ever again. Now here’s one that you may think is “way out there”, but I’ve heard from optometrists and ophthalmologists that the following does WORK. It can do you no harm, so trying it won’t hurt you in any way. It’s so simple and yet nobody does it. Ready? Gaze at the moon. Yep! That’s it. It’s been said that gazing at the moon does help preserve vision. Even better, it’s rumored that the brain ignores floaters faster if you gaze at the moon for just five minutes every night. What have you got to lose? Try it! And when you do meditate on Psalm 148:3 “Praise Him, sun and moon; Praise Him, all you stars of light!” And Psalm 8:3, “When I consider Your heavens, the work of Your fingers, The moon and the stars, which You have ordained.”
Thanks much Dr. Joe!
