Dear Dewey’s Daily Cup Family,
Good morning and good day to you!
As we gather together to listen to the Holy Spirit, let us cleanse our hearts in prayer to prepare our day to be in step with the Lord Jesus through the Holy Spirit in all things we go to do. Lord Jesus, help us to step in faith according to Righteousness that is of God; as we know that You have set Righteousness before us…and we are blessed; and thank you for Your mercy and grace that is with us when we are weak and fall to temptation.
“Our Father in heaven, hallowed be Your name. Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven. Give us this day our daily bread, and forgive us our debts, as we also have forgiven our debtors. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.” “For God, You are the Kingdom, the glory and the power forevermore!” Amen.
1 Peter 5:5 (Good News Bible): “All of
you must put on the apron of humility, to serve one another”.
For I say, through the grace given to me, to everyone who is among you, not to think of himself more highly than he ought to think, but to think soberly, as God has dealt to each a measure of faith.
Romans 12:3(NKJV)
Delight in doing an honest day’s work. However humble our tasks may be, they are
being done for the glory of God (Col. 3:17, 1 Cor. 10:31) Our submission is “for
The sake of the Lord”.
“When people know themselves well, they examine their lives carefully. They do not want the high praise of men, but the satisfaction of living their lives pleasing to the Lord. When we approach God in prayer, we want to do so with the proper attitude. That correct attitude would be humility. If we have God dwelling in our hearts and working through us in our lives, we will strive to be humble at all times. It will cause us to be dependent upon God and not ourselves or anything manmade.”
[Remembering
that dramatic moment in the upper room just before Jesus was crucified: Jesus, “knowing
that he had come from God and was going to God” laid aside
his garments, and put on a servant’s towel.
