WOW! WEE! PRAISE GOD!

Sharon and I had such a Wonderful time in our Lord at NRB in Nashville. I will share a few things with you this morning and as I unpack my notes, books, and card’s people gave me there may be more to come. There is so much to share.WOW! This CUP is so full!!!!

The highlight for me was spending time with Sharon. It hit me in the Albuquerque Airport that we had not traveled together alone in 9 years. That made me sad. We visited friends near Memphis and then went to the NRB. We were so blessed by this trip! For us it was like a second honeymoon. I am such a blessed man to have Sharon! More on that in just a minute.

At the Opryland Hotel in Nashville where the National Religious Broadcasters Convention is held, many of the workers are from Egypt. Many are Coptic Christians. Every year I make new friends at the NRB, and this year Sharon and I anointed George with oil and prayed over him( Read James 5), for his family in Egypt, for his County and for George himself. A man of about 25 he loves God. He told me on Monday that his Priest was so excited that we had anointed him with oil and prayed over him!

It is a wonderful blessing to anoint others in oil and pray over them……We prayed over many people on the trip.

Sharon and I also went to see Dr. Larry Bates for a visit, he is recovering from hip replacement and was not able to attend the Conference, the first NRB he has missed in over 20 years. Sharon and I anointed him with oil and prayed healing over him. (Read James 5)

We also got to see Haley, Larry’s granddaughter who sang on the radio for us when they were here in the fall. Haley just turned 5. It was a blessing to see her and her Mom and Dad, Chuck and Melissa Bates.

We also got to spend time with Ernie Belanger of the Christian Radio Guide and his lovely wife to be, Cathy. We have been asked to marry them in May! PRAISE GOD!

I am telling you it is such a blessing to travel with my wife and to be so together on the LORD and pray and anoint others with oil! For God’s Glory Alone!

One of the other highlights for us was meeting Jonathan Cahn the author of the hit book, The Harbinger. Sharon just devoured the book on the trip and got to meet Jonathan. When she introduced herself to Jonathon and Sharon was trying to set him up for an interview on KKIM, he said, Oh yes! I know Mark Tross! Mark served as an assistant Pastor to Jonathon in New Jersey. I have never seen Sharon so enthused about a book! She is going to write a commentary on it for us, I am reading it at this time. I strongly suggest you all read it!

Biblical Prophecy is playing out right before our eye’s.

The bottom line, God is giving America Warnings………we must comeback to God………

Our present Society appeals to that fleshly nature. TV, magazines, the internet, and many businesses seek to affect the individual by arousing carnal clattering that God calls us to listen to a voice that always seeks the benefit of others as well as ourselves, a voice that requires substantial faith to hear, that of the Holy Spirit.

America has moved to far from God.

Thank the Lord for discernment….I scanned the TV in the Hotel room.Oh My LORD! We need to pray for people like this Bill Maher.What sinful stuff he talks about on his newscast. His humor is so dirty and he announced that he is coming to Albuquerque. Where do you my friend get your news?

As the age grows darker, more and more voices will be detrimental to the people of God. Those who reluctantly seek Him and don’t intentionally desire to know Him will be easily swayed to accept numerous doctrinal errors. This is why we must be Salt and Light.

It is impossible to reason with a fool like this Bill Maher.We must keep that in mind as we go out and be Salt and Light. We must pray for people like Bill Maher and the dirty things he talks about on his program and all those who listen to him for the news. Let us understand that many American’s listen to him for their news! This is one reason for the darkness in this Country!

Back to Jonathan Cahn’s book the Harbinger………here is me and Jonathan at the NRB

It’s been more than a few weeks but Pastor Bill Ruhl read the book and posted this on a Past CUP……….

“The Harbinger” by Jonathan Cahn
“The Harbinger” is an easy to read, yet compelling and intriguing fictional adaptation of ancient Bible prophecies (Isaiah, Ezekiel, and Jeremiah) to the unfolding history of present day America. The events seem to be well documented, allowing the reader to search out scriptures and news archives to verify specifics on their own if desired.
Ancient words spoken over an ancient nation, Israel, are superimposed over the current events of modern day America in a chilling series of alarms or “harbingers” intended to awaken the United States to its ultimate fate; that is apart from God’s solution which is “IF”(2 Chronicles 7:14). The downfall of Israel as a nation when the people dismissed God and removed Him from their affairs, silhouettes present day America with its demand that God be removed from all its public and private affairs. As Israel did, so the United States is sadly depicted as attempting to solve the nation’s present catastrophic state of affairs by our own “defiant” means. Both nations positioned themselves for destruction apart from God.
The outcome of the book at first seemed a bit anti-climatic, until I wrestled my thoughts away from what “we” could do (which is the theme of Cahn’s story) and listened to God’s remedy for this nation: “IF”. “If My people”. God is always speaking to His people. The world seldom listens, but when God’s people are obedient to His commands the world benefits and recognize the God of His people as the God of all.
The book ends with two directives:
1) The “IF”: 2 Chronicles 7:14 states, “If My people, which are called by My Name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek My face, and turn from THEIR wicked ways; THEN will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin, and will HEAL their Land!” God’s people must take action in prayer and repentance…THEN GOD!
2) The Decision: Believe in Jesus. Receive the gift of God. SALVATION! Hebrews 1:1-3 “In the past God spoke to our ancestors through the prophets at many times and in various ways, but in the last days He has spoken to us by His Son, whom He appointed heir of all things, and through Whom also He made the universe. The Son is the radiance of God’s glory and the exact representation of His being, sustaining all things by His powerful word. After He had provided purification for sins, He sat down at the right hand of the Majesty in heaven.”
Today, God has set His tent outside the camp. Today, His desire is that we as a nation seek Him through repentance and prayer; for His promise is He can still be found by those who diligently seek after Him. Let us say, I was glad when they said, “Let us go unto the House of the Lord!”
A very timely book that you will want to read at one sitting.

We must understand the darkness is growing in America…….Many do not know our Lord here in America anymore and they are acting like fool’s. The know the way of the darkness, they are easily swayed, even Pastor’s, Pastor’s that will not be the Salt and Light to our own Government! Those Pastor’s kill me, like God does not care about our Government, and the laws they make and how the affect His people?

I don’t know about you but that means all people, even politicians, people who work in our Government! We are called to be Salt and Light and occupy until the Lord returns.

Jesus, Your wounds have healed us. We are unworthy of Your love and redemption, but You have never stopped pursing us! Thank You for suffering for us and fulfilling Your promise. Keep your Blood Pressure in Check

Hypertension is the term used to describe high blood pressure. High blood pressure causes the heart to work harder than normal and the blood vessels to get harder and less flexible over time. This puts you at a higher risk of heart attack, stroke, heart failure and kidney damage.

Your blood pressure is considered high if you have a systolic blood pressure of 140 or greater or a diastolic pressure of 90 or greater. A healthy adult has a blood pressure of less than 130/80 mmHg. The problem is that way too often a person is diagnosed with hypertension from just one blood pressure reading. To avoid this, make sure that when you’ve arrived at the doctor’s office you have the opportunity to relax before having it done. If it is high, request that it be taken again at the end of the visit. And even then, don’t rely on it being accurate. To truly know if your blood pressure is high, you need multiple readings throughout your waking day.

High blood pressure can be controlled through lifestyle changes and, if absolutely needed, blood pressure lowering medications.

I encourage you to have your blood pressure monitored regularly…daily if possible.

You’ll want to follow these lifestyle changes even if you don’t have high blood pressure and certainly if you do have high blood pressure:

– Maintain a healthy weight for your height, gender and activity level.
– Eat foods low in salt (sodium).
– Avoid foods that make you gain weight.
– If you consume alcohol, do so in moderation; wine is the better choice
– Follow a healthy diet by eating more alkaline foods.
– Sip away at water with lemon juice squeezed in it throughout the day (very alkaline and very healing).
– Take your Fish Oil supplements (at least two capsules per day), Vitamin D3 (one 5000 IU tablet with a meal), and Cayenne Pepper (30,000 to 50,000 SU or Heat Units per capsule – one per day). All these are “heart healthy” and act as powerful natural anti-inflammatories.
– Be physically active.
– Be socially active with friends.
– Quit smoking and avoid second hand smoke.

If your blood pressure cannot be controlled by lifestyle changes, your doctor may have you take medications to lower your blood pressure. Some of the common classes of blood pressure medications are: diuretics (water pills), beta-blockers, ACE inhibitors and calcium channel blockers. Even if you are prescribed a medication(s), you must maintain a healthy lifestyle.

Your blood pressure may return to higher levels if you stop taking your medication before your doctor tells you to. Therefore, it’s very important that you take your medication even after your blood pressure is lowered. And even more important is that you have routine blood tests done to make sure your liver and kidneys are not being affected by the medication.

Know all about the possible side effects your medications have. Don’t take it for granted that just because your doctor prescribed it to you that it’s safe. If you do have problems with your medications or if you experience any side effects, make sure you immediately discuss these issues with your doctor. You should never stop taking blood pressure medications on your own. In addition, be sure to tell your doctor before starting over-the-counter products and herbal medications as they may affect your blood pressure or blood pressure medications.

I encourage you to take an active and serious role in your health care and to partner with an open minded doctor and other health professionals. If your blood pressure is higher than the goal set for you by your doctor or if you’re having problems with your medication, schedule an appointment with your doctor today. And please, always keep in mind that internal inflammation plays a HUGE role in high blood pressure as a cause.

Financial Advice You Need to Know
: What is the advice God gives us in His word about finances? “Stewardship”. God is interested in how we steward what He has given into our care. Contrary to many teachings flying about and tickling the ears of many, God is not a genie, seated in a large treasure room, waiting for you to muster up the right amount of faith, so that He will be compelled to open up a window and pour out so much wealth that you will waste it! What does God say about wealth? Well let’s take a close look at His words. First of all He cautions us to be careful of how we approach wealth and what our heart is toward money: Proverbs 23:4-5: “Do not weary yourself to gain wealth , cease from your consideration of it. When you set your eyes on it, it is gone, for wealth certainly makes itself wings like an eagle that flies toward the heavens.” (NASU) Speaking about the qualities of a good leader, in ministry and the home, we are reminded that one must be free from the love of money. He must be one who manages his own household well …”godliness actually is a means of great gain when accompanied by contentment. For we have brought nothing into the world, so we cannot take anything out of it either. If we have food and covering, with these we shall be content. But those who want to get rich fall into temptation and a snare and many foolish and harmful desires which plunge men into ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all sorts of evil, and some by longing for it have wandered away from the faith and pierced themselves with many griefs.” (1 Timothy 3:3-4, 6:6-10 NASU) And then we are called to contentment in Hebrews 13:5-9: “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money , being content with what you have; for He Himself has said, ” I WILL NEVER DESERT YOU, NOR WILL I EVER FORSAKE YOU,” so that we confidently say, “THE LORD IS MY HELPER, I WILL NOT BE AFRAID. WHAT WILL MAN DO TO ME?” Remember those who led you, who spoke the word of God to you; and considering the result of their conduct, imitate their faith. Jesus Christ is the same yesterday and today and forever.” (NASU) The Apostle Paul (Phil 4:11-13) addressed both lack and abundance this way: “…I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.” (NASU) It would appear that God wants us to rely on His wisdom as to how we approach wealth and the use of money. He has a specific purpose for it. Yes, to supply our needs, and in that we must learn to steward what we have. But beyond that, the wealth God is interested in each of us obtaining, is wealth that will further His Kingdom purposes. Here is what the Lord says should be our purposes in attaining a level of abundance in our lives: (Deuteronomy 8:17-20) “Otherwise, you may say in your heart, ‘My power and the strength of my hand made me this wealth .’ But you shall remember the LORD your God, for it is He who is giving you power to make wealth, that He may confirm His covenant which He swore to your fathers, as it is this day. It shall come about if you ever forget the LORD your God and go after other gods and serve them and worship them, I testify against you today that you will surely perish.” (NASU) As you properly set your heart on God’s purpose for wealth, “to confirm His covenant”, He will set the necessary resources in place, so that you might prosper in all things, just as your soul prospers. Once we set our hearts on the treasures above, He gives to each according to their needs and, I might add, their proven stewardship. (Mathew 25:14-30)

Dear Dewey’s Daily Cup Readers,

Good morning to you and I hope this letter finds you well. There is no question that one of our great failures is our failure in prayer. Each one of us are personally known and loved of God; we are the personal objects of His love.

If you have experienced the grace of God in your life, then you will understand what this Cup is saying…and we need to remember during difficult times that the joy of the Lord is THE source of our strength! If you do not understand yet, this Cup Today is intended to encourage you to seek your Joy in the Lord and to pursue your Peace in Jesus.

Joy and Peace IS the definitive characteristic of God’s presence and power in our life!

· These loaded Holy Spirit Cups…Print them if you don’t understand and highlight as you read. Pick up the Bible with God and read it with him as you ask the Holy Spirit to guide you to your understanding. Much (well all the good stuff) of Today’s Cup was indeed supplied through the Holy Spirit!

· The Holy Spirit, was the author of the Bible through men…The Holy Spirit is, I believe the author of God’s Supply in the Midst of Poverty (2 Kings 4:1-7) Study By: J. So to God be the glory, I begin to pour your Cup.

He Cares for you…Do not be led Astray…Basic knowledge that is ours and we need to remember each and every day just how much God cares for us; and also remind others as the good Lord leads!

19 Nevertheless, God’s solid foundation stands firm, sealed with this inscription: “The Lord knows those who are his,” and, “Everyone who confesses the name of the Lord must turn away from wickedness.” 2 Timothy 2:19

Elisha’s prophetic ministry clearly demonstrates that God cares for His people and that He sometimes works in sovereign and mighty ways that extend far beyond that which we are able to do or think as He reaches out to meet needs according to His will.

The real issue is not the problem, but in our response to the Lord in the face of problems. How do we respond or react?

Below you will soon read 2 Kings 4:1-7 …As we think about Elisha’s question, “What shall I do for you?,” we need to remember that Elisha was no ordinary prophet because of his many miracles. In a very unique way, he represented the person, power, and care of God. The widow, as the wife of one of the prophets under Elisha’s ministry, must have been familiar with what God had been doing through the prophet Elisha. In essence, then, she was seeking God’s provision through the prophet. …

Her appeal here was ultimately to the Lord, she sought help through Elisha. Her appeal was based on two facts: (a) as one of the sons of the prophets, her husband had been a servant and student of Elisha, and (b) her husband had revered (had been faithful to) the Lord.

2 Kings 4
The Widow’s Olive Oil
1 The wife of a man from the company of the prophets cried out to Elisha, “Your servant my husband is dead, and you know that he revered the LORD. But now his creditor is coming to take my two boys as his slaves.”
2 Elisha replied to her, “How can I help you? Tell me, what do you have in your house?”
“Your servant has nothing there at all,” she said, “except a small jar of olive oil.”
3 Elisha said, “Go around and ask all your neighbors for empty jars. Don’t ask for just a few. 4 Then go inside and shut the door behind you and your sons. Pour oil into all the jars, and as each is filled, put it to one side.”
5 She left him and shut the door behind her and her sons. They brought the jars to her and she kept pouring. 6 When all the jars were full, she said to her son, “Bring me another one.”
But he replied, “There is not a jar left.” Then the oil stopped flowing.
7 She went and told the man of God, and he said, “Go, sell the oil and pay your debts. You and your sons can live on what is left.”

Reread this Scripture, and allow God’s message to you absorb in your soul! [And if you want to read a POWERFUL Testimony Read on! 2 Kings 4:8-37 WOW! Don’t miss reading this Scripture Today!]
However, continuing on… This scenario reminds us of how God usually meets the needs of His people through people, especially believers ministering to other believers. Taking on a caring responsibility to one another is one of the great themes of the New Testament, but this especially draws attention to our need to be more involved in the needs of those in our personal care or in our ministry.
“And let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we shall reap if we do not grow weary. 10 So then, while we have opportunity, let us do good to all men, and especially to those who are of the household of the faith Galatians 6:9-10)”.

The prophet Elisha was not concerned with the praise of men nor with position or power or prestige. Though his ministry, like the Savior, he came not to be ministered to, but to minister …and the ministry’s miracles were for edification, not for show.
Much like the times in which we live, the world as a whole was unsympathetic to God’s people and to the ministry of His Word. It was tough to be a believer and to stand for the things of God. For many believers it was often hard to even make ends meet.

Like this widow’s story in this passage of the Bible …She was a believer and her story is written for us to understand:
That regardless of the times in which we live and the problems we face there is no problem or need which God cannot meet if we will simply trust and obey Him.

Final Instructions in Scripture Is Loaded with the simple basics to being blessed:

Now we ask you, brothers, to respect those who work hard among you, who are over you in the Lord and who admonish you. Hold them in the highest regard in love because of their work. Live in peace with each other. And we urge you, brothers, warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else. Be joyful always; pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus. Do not put out the Spirit’s fire; do not treat prophecies with contempt. Test everything. Hold on to the good. Avoid every kind of evil. May God himself, the God of peace, sanctify you through and through. May your whole spirit, soul and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. The one who calls you is faithful and he will do it.

1 Thessalonians 5:12-24

I may not get tomorrow to say what the Spirit has put on my heart to share, so always remember to test everything according to the COMPLETE WORD of GOD and always remember the Holy Spirit lives in you as your seal of position with God! Trust God and follow Jesus! His peace swells in your soul when you are with God. Recognize Peace and pursue peace…Do not be led astray by partial truth or false miracles…Recognize God’s Holiness and follow Jesus.

Jesus was not willing to sacrifice us…HE KNEW MORE…so did Satan! Are we willing to sacrifice our blessed life now?…After all Jesus has done for us! Satan had NOTHING to offer Jesus that He didn’t already have waiting on him! Satan has nothing to offer you that you don’t already have waiting on you either! We are blessed in Jesus! Remember the Bible story…how God cares for us… ‘It is written’ for a reason! We need to know our Word of God, because Satan knows it too! We have a choice and we don’t have to let “the evil one” outsmart us, because we have a choice to follow Jesus and read the Word of God. God has given us everything we need!

Luke 4 Jesus Is Tested in the Wilderness1 Jesus, full of the Holy Spirit…

“The devil led him to Jerusalem and had him stand on the highest point of the temple. “If you are the Son of God,” he said, “throw yourself down from here. For it is written: “‘He will command his angels concerning you to guard you carefully; they will lift you up in their hands, so that you will not strike your foot against a stone.’” Jesus answered, “It says: ‘Do not put the Lord your God to the test.’” – Luke 4:9-12 (NIV)

When Satan tries to twist the Scripture to get Jesus to jump, Jesus holds His ground. Jesus was secure in the Father’s care. He did not need to test God by doing foolish things. Are we able to trust the Father’s care so much that we can stay the course? God has already proven His love for you through Jesus Christ; rest in that love. Do Not Be Led Astray

The Train Whistle warns that signs and miracles alone will lead us away from God. “Dear children, do not let anyone lead you astray” (1 John 3:7). God leads by his righteous Word; righteousness always goes before signs and miracles. A sign from God will not miraculously appear to lead us in a way that God already knows is harmful to us. But a sign from Satan might.
Will you commit to seeking the truth in Jesus? Is your heart willing to follow God’s truth if his peace is not with you in your plan, or do you prefer stubborn pride over God’s wisdom?Are you willing to stop and ask God what you need to do to find your peace again?
If there is no peace, then God is not with you in your decision. This does not mean that God stopped loving you; it simply means that you have left God to stand alone. Turn around and pursue peace to be with God in all you do, to find every good blessing that God has waiting on you! God already knows your love, life, and joy; allow him to get you there by following Jesus and trusting God. Cling to remembering and trusting that God works all things out for the good for those who love him (Romans 8:28).
Are you willing to search the Word of God for his approval with a willing heart to really obey his truth? Or is there something in your heart that is afraid that God will tell you no? Are you willing to sacrifice what you want or think that you need to follow God’s truth unconditionally with trust that he always knows best? Hiding from the truth only allows the other wisdom to lead us astray from God’s protecting and blessing hand of love.
God can and does do miraculous signs and wonders. However, we need to recognize the fact that Satan can perform many signs and wonders too. Satan is actually a beautiful but fallen angel created by God; he is not a red dude with horns and a pointy tail, but he is evil with knowledge of both good and evil. However, Satan cannot imitate the peace from God. The difference is that God always has good purpose, but Satan’s purpose is to destroy God’s good plan for us, and lead us away from the goodness of God. Walking away from God today is harmful, but walking away from God as your hope for eternity is detrimental. Satan may entice our sinful nature, but remember that Satan has nothing to offer us that God has not already given us.
Although Satan has knowledge of God’s Word, the knowledge that is good does not make Satan good. God wants us to increase our knowledge in him and his ways so that we will not be led astray from him—“do not lead us into temptation, but deliver us from evil” (from the Lord’s Prayer). However mighty and powerful Satan is, we are created to be more powerful than him. Our limitation is our knowledge level. Do not allow Satan to outsmart you with the Word of God.

Devote yourselves to prayer, being watchful and thankful…Be wise in the way you act toward outsiders; make the most of every opportunity. Let your conversation be always full of grace, seasoned with salt, so that you may know how to answer everyone.

Proper Protein Intake Crucial for Moderating Energy Intake, Keeping Obesity at Bay

Obesity is a growing problem worldwide, but proper protein consumption can help keep it at bay, according to a paper recently published.

Researchers found that, when subjects were fed a 10% protein diet, they consumed 12% more energy over four days than they did on a 15% protein diet. Moreover, 70% of the increased energy intake on the lower protein diet was attributed to snacking. When the protein content was further increased to 25%, however, the researchers observed no change in behavior relative to the 15% protein diet.

It had previously been suggested that protein content plays an important role in determining overall energy intake, and thus affects obesity, but until this study, experimental verification had been lacking. To test the hypothesis, the researchers tested 16 female and 6 male participants, all lean and in good health. The subjects spent four days on each of the three diets, which were made as similar as possible in factors such as palatability, availability, variety, and appearance, and their intake was monitored.

According to Dr. Alison Gosby, “The results show that humans have a particularly strong appetite for protein, and when the proportion of protein in the diet is low this appetite can drive excess energy intake. Our findings have considerable implications for bodyweight management in the current nutritional environment, where foods rich in fat and carbohydrate are cheap, palatable and available to an extent unprecedented in our history.”

My Comments Regarding this Article

You need protein because it’s in every critical function of the body.

I see way too much of an imbalance in folk’s diets. They choose the unhealthy simple carbohydrates, fats and salt over the healthy complex carbs and protein way too often as shown in the article. And the result is that most Americans are out of shape, overweight, over fed, and suffer from malnutrition.

How Much Protein Is Enough?

Adults in the U.S. are encouraged to get 10% to 35% of their day’s calories from protein foods. That’s about 46 grams of protein for women and 56 grams of protein for men.

It’s fairly easy to get this amount if you eat two to three servings of protein-rich foods a day, according to the Center for Disease Control.

– A small 3-ounce piece of meat has about 21 grams of protein.
– A typical 8-ounce piece of meat could have over 50 grams of protein.
– One 8-ounce container of yogurt has about 11 grams of protein.
– One cup of milk has 8 grams of protein.
– One cup of dry beans has about 16 grams of protein.

Pregnant women need about 10 more grams of protein than they did before. And nursing women need 20 grams more protein a day than they did before pregnancy to support milk production. You would get 10 grams in one Greek yogurt or a half-cup of cottage cheese, so it doesn’t add up to a lot of food. Pregnant women can get 20 to 30 grams of their protein a day from low-fat dairy products because calcium and vitamin D are crucial for the bone health of mother and baby.

Meat eaters should eat no more than two palm-sized servings of meat a day to get enough – but not too much protein.

When you’re trying to lose weight, your goal is to lose body fat but maintain lean muscle mass. Protein helps you do that. Protein foods help you to be more filling; they delay hunger, making it easier for you to stick to your weight-loss program. Keep a close eye on the calories and portion sizes of your protein choices when including them in meals and snacks.

Protein should take up no more than one-third of your plate at each meal; whether it’s in a form you can drink or chew. Nevertheless, you need to include small amounts of protein foods at every meal to spread your intake evenly throughout the day as this will satiate your appetite and keep you away from eating the sugars, starches, and other weight gaining simple carbs.

Here’s a Handy Portion Control Guide

To achieve weight loss — and maintain that healthy weight once you’ve achieved it — it’s crucial to really understand what a portion is.

Use your hand as a guideline for portion sizes. If your hands happen to be extra-large or extra-small for your size, adjust accordingly.

– Palm (about the size of a 3 ounce serving) = Proteins: Make protein portions the size of your palm. Protein is found in animal products, like fish, meats, and cottage cheese. Some veggie protein sources include legumes (beans, etc.), tofu, tempeh, and wheat glutens. Folks benefit from eating less processed protein, such as bacon, hot dogs, and lunch meats, and are far better off eating beans and fish a few times a week. Beans and whole grains are some of the healthiest foods on the planet and they’re cheap, filling, and easy to make. From black beans and garbanzos to lentils and split peas, plant proteins can be used in soups, chili, spreads, and Mexican dishes. As for whole grains, three protein-rich grains are quinoa, spelt, and amaranth. Unlike animal protein, most plant-based proteins are “incomplete,” meaning they lack some amino acid building blocks. By combining plant proteins, such as rice and beans or hummus on pita bread, they become “complete” with all the essential amino acids found in animal protein.

– Thumb = Fats: Fats are important, but they’re also very dense, so match fat portions to the size of your thumb. Good fat sources are avocados, olive oil, nuts, and seeds.

– Fist = Fruits, Grains, etc.: Your bread, fruit, cereal, rice, and grain portions should be about equal to the size of your closed fist. Remember that it’s always preferable to consume whole grains.

– Hand = Veggies: Open your hand and spread your fingers as wide as you can. That’s a good vegetable portion. Raw vegetables are loaded with fiber and nutrients, and they contain very few calories.

– Index Finger doing a “no-no” = at so called “foods” that are in a box, processed, “fast”, fatty, genetically modified, prepared on an assembly line, laden with antibiotics, sprayed with tons of chemicals, and comes from questionable foreign sources.

I will sometimes substitute a “cooked sit down meal” for an on the go “protein powdered, fruit, almond milk, smoothie”. The protein powder I recommend should never have more than 20 grams of protein per scoop because you can only digest no more than 20 grams at a meal; the body passes the rest out. So, it’s a big waste of money and hard on the kidneys if you purchase a powdered protein that markets itself as more than 20 grams of protein per scoop. Don’t buy it! And don’t buy one if it’s got anything artificial in it such as the sweetener, which most of them use the toxic Aspartame.

 Confession Helps Us Understand; God Already Knows

Confession is communication, sharing deep feelings that are hindering to our relationships with God and others. Confession is seeking understanding and forgiveness with the power to change. More about God than about me, confession requires faith and trust in God. The miracle of confession is His way to get bitterness, turmoil, and confusion from on the inside of us to the outside of us so that we can move forward and upward in our relationships and with God. If you harbor bitter envy or selfish ambition in your hearts, do not boast about it or deny the truth (see James 3:14).

Confession is a way to search our own hearts with eyes of God and ears of God to listen to God’s still voice of truth that comes with wisdom from heaven about how to move on. Confession has a purpose to seek the peace of God with a willing heart to change. Peace is harmony in our being with God in our spirit/heart, mind/soul, and body with Jesus in our hearts. With confession, we submit our wills to God.

The peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus. Philippians 4:7

Godly sorrow brings repentance that leads to salvation and leaves no regret, but worldly sorrow brings death. 2 Corinthians 7:10

Learn to recognize the peace of God alive and living in your heart and soul. God’s peace is wonderful and a beautiful place to remain in. Only by the grace of God can we experience the peace of God alive in our lives. God’s peace is my tuning tool for me to recognize when I need to confess in my walk with Jesus.

Confess is a word with meaning that is good for our souls. When we confess, we are hearing our mouths tell God what he already knows. Many times we cannot see forward until we hear our mouths speak what is truly on our hearts.
When we confess to God, we are not condemned—we are set free in the truth.

For God did not send His Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through Him. Whoever believes in Him is not condemned, but whoever does not believe stands condemned already because he has not believed in the name of God’s one and only Son. John 3:17-19

If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness. If we claim we have not sinned, we make Him out to be a liar and His word has no place in our lives. 1 John 1:9-10

Speaking to my husband and prayer are two such ways that I confess to God. With a mind set on prayer with God, I can confess what is jumbled in my heart. Find someone you genuinely can trust and ask them just to listen to you talk it out. Ask them not to try to fix you but simply allow you to talk to their nonjudgmental listening ear. Ask them to pray for you as you listen to God. I confess in order to align my heart with God, this is my way to get back in step with the Spirit.

Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for each other so that you may be healed. The prayer of a righteous man is powerful and effective. James 5:16

The greater our commitment to God, the greater our flight of life with God is. God is dedicated to us in his love. We can show God how much we love him by worshiping and doing the right thing.

Come to Jesus and allow him to cradle you up to a kindred place with God.

My name is Debra Neri. I’m 50 years old and a survivor of Breast Cancer, not only once but twice. I’m a single Mom of three sons and preparing to do what I love for my career and for the rest of my life.
When I had a second Mastectomy in 2009, my plastic surgeon was not able to finish my reconstruction and tattooing. I had no job or money and as God would have it, I met a wonderful woman in the permanent make-up business, who finished the tattooing at no charge. That was one of the kindest gifts I’d ever been given.
In the last six months, I attended, The Institute for Permanent Make-up and Tattoo Removal and training to be a Permanent Make-up Artist & Eyelash Extensionist. I now have all the tools & training to start this career. Now, I’m able to give the same gift to other women, that I received. This is a service, that for me, will be very rewarding for my clients and myself.

I’m looking to rent a space for my Permanent Make-up and Eyelash Extension business. The room needs to be about 16′ x 12′ with a door that locks. A salon is a good match. I’ve been marketing and have many clients who are waiting for me to have a business location. I have a part-time merchandising job and preparing to attend The Aveda Institute to be an Esthetician, beginning in March and ending in July, to expand services for clients. I’d be willing to share a room, although I need to have access at a variety of times to accommodate clients. The sooner I can get in a place, the sooner I can get started.

I’m preferably looking for a salon in the NW area of Albuquerque, which could include Rio Rancho & Corrales. 16′ x 12′. With access to a bathroom & parking.

The World is facing a “massive” rise in antibiotic-resistant blood poisoning caused by the bacterium E.coli – bringing closer the danger of diseases worldwide as impossible to treat.

Experts say the growth of antibiotic resistance now poses as great a threat to global health as the emergence of new resistant strains of diseases such as Aids and pandemic flu.

Slow but insidious growth of resistant organisms is threatening to turn common infections into untreatable diseases. Already, an estimated 25,000 people die each year in the European Union from antibiotic-resistant bacterial infections. Antibiotic-resistant bacteria kill more than 40,000 North Americans a year, and the numbers will soar because the so-called super-germs are becoming out of control.

Decades ago, these species could be wiped out with a single dose of penicillin. But overuse of antibiotics gave the bacteria a chance to develop new genes that protected them.

Professor Peter Hawkey, a clinical microbiologist and chair of the British government’s antibiotic-resistance working group, said that, “It is a worldwide issue – there are no boundaries. We have very good policies on the use of antibiotics in man and in animals in the UK. But we are not alone. We have to think globally.” Between 2005 and 2009 the incidence of E.coli “bacteremias” (the presence of bacteria in the blood) rose by 30%, from 18,000 to over 25,000 cases. Those resistant to antibiotics have risen from 1% at the beginning of the century to 10%.

Only one in 20 of infections with (resistant) E.coli is a bacteremia, so the above data are only the tip of an iceberg of infected individuals,” says a report produced by Professor Hawkey’s group, commissioned by the Department of Health and the Department for Environment, Food and Rural Affairs.

“There are only so many antibiotics available and as we lose them it becomes more and more difficult to replace them,” Professor Hawkey said.

The rapid rise in E.coli blood poisoning is thought to be linked with the aging of the population. E.coli is a common cause of urinary-tract infections but may also cause wound infections following surgery or injury. These are regarded as minor conditions, but if they became untreatable they would be life-threatening.

E.coli infections pose a much bigger problem than MRSA (Methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus is a strain of staph bacteria that does not respond to some antibiotics that are commonly used to treat staph infections) because the bacterium is more common. Only one in 10 people is a carrier of MRSA, but E.coli is present in everyone. “Those who get ill (with E.coli) are rare – but because it is so common it is a big problem,” Professor Hawkey said.

Using standard antibiotic regimens, there is a one in 10 chance that treatment of an E.coli infection will fail because the bug is resistant. But, as the numbers of resistant infections rise, there will be increasing pressure to use more powerful antibiotics, called carbapenems, which are the last line available. And resistance to those is already emerging. “In the last two or three years we have seen (organisms) develop which destroy carbapenems. That is a great worry,” Professor Hawkey said.

How bacteria adapt to beat antibiotics

“Bugs” are like all other life forms: they must adapt to survive. Reproduction is so rapid among bacteria that they can change in months or years.

Most bacteria are killed by a new drug but the natural variation that occurs in any species means a few examples may, by chance, have some quirk in their genetic structure that allows them to survive.

These bacteria are then selected out by the antibiotic, which kills the rest. The mutant bacteria grow in numbers until they become the dominant species.

One of the biggest areas of antibiotic misuse is by doctors who prescribe them to complaining patients with viral infections.

Antibiotics do not work against viruses and the more often an antibiotic is given, the more likely a person’s natural bacteria will become resistant.

Adding to the medical overuse of antibiotics, North American livestock have been fed small doses of antibiotics as a growth promoter since the 1950s.

As a result, livestock serve as a reservoir of drug-resistant germs.

The biblical aspects of this article

This article caught my eye and held my attention so much so that I had to share it with you. Why? Because it is truly “biblical” in more ways than one. In Revelation 6: 8, we read about the Fourth Seal opened upon the Earth that causes a fourth of its people to be destroyed by four separate “things” one of which is a death by diseases caused by the very things this article talks about.

Regardless of your “belief” that yours or my generation will or will not experience these horrific Seals and Trumpets – it absolutely doesn’t matter – what matters is that it’s critical for you take care of your body, the Temple of the Holy Spirit right now…today and from here out until the Lord calls you Home. For if you don’t take care of yourself, IF you don’t practice everyday prevention, you will weaken your body and you will be highly susceptible to dangerous bacterial and viral manifestations that are upon us now.

Almost 80% of your immune system is in the small intestine; your gut. E.coli also gets into the gut via the mouth and then into the blood system to cause a terrible health crisis, which this article tells us there is soon to be no cure for it.

If you haven’t already, please accept my challenge to you to begin now to commit your body, mind, emotion and will, through the power of the Holy Spirit, to the Lord everyday by making it a strong haven for a vibrant immune system.
