Dear KKIM Family,
Thank you so much for stopping by for a CUP!

“Love does no harm to its neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law.” – Romans 13:10
Hi, Dewey! In this complicated and sometimes crazy world, there is one thing that always stands the test of time: Love. And that’s no surprise considering the Bible says God is love and Jesus talks many times about its importance. So let’s all show a little extra love to one another today and do God’s will 🙂
Celina sent this to me…………
Blessings!
Everything in your life doesn’t have to be serious in order to be spiritual.
If you are filled with God’s spirit, whatever you do has a spiritual connotation to it.
You can live a Holy life, and still enjoy your day.
God measures holiness by how quick we are to obey His voice!
He promises that goodness and mercy will follow us if we seek His presence.
See Psalm 23:6. He may even encourage you to just have fun today!!!!!!!!!
Thanks so much Celina for those words!!!!!
As Pastor Leonard says, “Ya know what we get to do today, Dewey? We get to serve the LORD!”
Let us hold each other up to our LORD!
It is right to give Thanks and Praise to our LORD!
It is right to hold each other up to our LORD!
1 Thessalonians 5:11
Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.
Hebrews 10:25
Not neglecting to meet together, as is the habit of some, but encouraging one another, and all the more as you see the Day drawing near.
Hebrews 3:13
But exhort one another every day, as long as it is called “today,” that none of you may be hardened by the deceitfulness of sin.
1 Corinthians 3:13
Each one’s work will become manifest, for the Day will disclose it, because it will be revealed by fire, and the fire will test what sort of work each one has done.
Let us hold up Chuck Colson and family. At last report as I am typing this Chuck is getting ready to go to heaven! What a role model Chuck Colson is!
Let us pray for Pastor Leonard and his lovely wife, Diana, as they take care of Diana’s Mom. It has been a very challenging time for the family.
Let us continue to pray for the Revival in Asheville, NC. As you know I was there in Sept. and could not go this time. You can hear more about the Revival on www.mykkim.com at 5:30am and 4pm weekdays with Dr. Kyle Martin. You can also go to www.timetorevive.com for more information.
I am so thankful for what Dr. Joe Fawcett and Pastor Bill Ruhl do for us……..giving of their time to provide us with Health and Financial news from a Biblical perspective! Great info today as always! Also for what Pastor Paul Holt is doing with the www.newmexiconewsandviews.com site! It is the best news site in New Mexico! Sign up there right now for Paul’s daily email to get the news!
I am very thankful for all, like Jannetta LaMort, CUP web master, that make all this happen each day!
Kind words are like honey—–sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24…….Read below a note from Wanell..but before we do that….Think back to yesterday, for a moment…..what kind words did you speak? and to whom?
Dear Dewey,
What a privilege it was to be in attendance at the KKIM 40th Birthday celebration. The spirit of the Lord met us there and guided each and every moment of that wonderful event. Dewey I must say what a “mighty” work God is doing in your life! You truly do have a servants heart and are not looking for glory in yourself but to glorify the One who first came to serve. The One who set the example for all of us has filled your heart and your life to do His work and has put you where you need to be to accomplish His calling. It was a night of acknowledgement and each speaker, song and testimony gave glory to God.
You and Sharon have so much to be thankful for and I have heard you say many times how blessed you are to have so many wonderful friends and how amazing that is. YOU are a wonderful friend to all who know you and we just cannot help but be a friend to you. I was reading from Wigglesworth devotional this morning and the scripture reading was Hebrews 6:1-20. This is a testing road we walk and with Him at our side we will see victory. Dewey I see so much victory in you and you are always willing to share it.
My love and blessings to you and Sharon and your family.
Wanell Pate
Wanell thanks so much for your kind words and being one of my mentor’s!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Tony Evans in his book, Kingdom Man asks………
Men, when is the last time you roared?
Just a foot note here, Meekness is POWER under control, not weakness!!!!!!!!!!!!
Friday night at our service and then again last night on air Pastor Steve Smothermon asked, where is the outrage of what is going on in our World?
And I ask where are the Men?
Evan’s writes..A lions roar has such a force that it can actually lift the dust off the ground and create a large whirling circle of dirt in the air in front of him. The roar has been known to cause metal frames of cars and trucks to vibrate! (Sounds like Buffy’s bark and Reno’s howl!! LOL LOL)
A lions strength not only fascinates us, but also inspires us. His prowess not only captivates us, but also arouses us. His regality not only allures us, but it also awakens our own.
One of the things that has been studied the most is why lions will roar with such force. Why does a lion sound his roar with the enormous power to extend five miles? Think about it; five miles is no small distance. Five miles is the length of 88 football fields or 283 pro basketball courts, and would take a Ferrari racing at top speeds nearly two minutes to cross it!
One of the reasons a lion roars is to reunite scattered pride members, thus fulfilling his role as leader over his own.
A lion roars to declare his dominion!
When a lion is within his own domain, he will roar multiple times over the course of several hours, usually at night and at the height of pride vulnerability. The lion roars to communicate: I have dominion over this land. I have dominion over this pride. I am protecting, providing, leading, and partnering in it. This is my domain.
Not only does the lion’s roar send the message of dominion to any other cats that might be looking to enter his land, but it also sends a reassuring sound of security to the members of the lion’s pride.
What the lion has declared through his roar is that, as ruler, he is responsible. ( the lack of responsibility is lacking in many men these days)
In his dominion, he has the authority to call the shots for whatever goes on within it. If he calls the shots well, he will keep his land and he will keep his pride. In fact, if he calls them well, he will position himself to expand his land and expand his pride.
Yet if a lion does not protect his domain, another lion will take what he has.
Men, before I go any further, I want to pause and ask you one thing: When is the last time you roared?
I’m not asking when is the last time you grunted, moaned, or complained about how tough the circumstances are, how bleak things look.
What I need to know, men, is when was the last time you actually roared?
When was the last time that reassuring strength of your roar was not only heard but also felt by all those within your sphere of influence and under your care?
And when was the last time that the force of your roar firmly warded off all those seeking to devour that which is within your domain?
To express your authority within your domain, you must roar. It is not an option. You must protect, provide, lead, and partner well in the areas of your influence. You must also declare your dominion by responsibly exercising your rule within it.
Many men need to revisit God’s Word to reclaim the POWER of GOD!
Far too many men have misplaced their ability to maximize truths found in God’s Word.
The reason so few men are actually going back to reclaim what has been misplaced is either they don’t know that they lost it, or they don’t realize the full value of what they misplaced.
Good words from Tony Evans.
I will add this that one of the main reasons Men are in crises is that we have so many that do not have role models, that have grown up in single parent homes, in dysfunctional homes….we, the Church must love on these men and help show them the way of Jesus Christ.
Yes, many single Parents do a great work……but nothing can replace a Dad. AMEN!
I am 56, I am told I grew up in Mayberry! LOL! I had my Dad and Mom and Grandpa and Grandma, Uncles and Aunts, School Teachers, Sunday School Teachers, Preachers, Policeman, Fireman, etc as role models. I know and see the difference!!!!!!!!!!!
I do not have a popular message, I know that………I see it everyday that our society is paying a big price on Men not being Men of God. I say that if we turn around Men, we can turn this country back to God.
So we have stated the problem and the solution……..The solution as always is our LORD!

April 19, 2012. The Lord is surveying the earth for one who will pay the price to acquire wisdom, My Wisdom. This is one who will eat and drink My word in good times and bad. He will never be turned back by difficulty or discouragement. He will watch everything I do to learn My ways. He will listen to My voice very carefully to learn My tones and undertones. Yes, my chosen will cherish and relish all that I do and am. And in so doing, wisdom will be imparted and imbedded. Gaining understanding will be like candy, some eaten and the rest stored for another day. This one is Mine and I have left My mark on them.
Proverbs 19:8 (AMP) “He who gains Wisdom loves his own life; he who keeps understanding shall prosper and find good.” Ras Robinson

April, 19, 2012. Something bad happened. There is nothing you can do about it, but you are dwelling on it. You know not to do that. You know it’s not My way nor is it good for you. I am reminding you so you can call this kind of thinking and behavior to a halt. You are accustomed to writing down your needs, but now I want you to write down what happened. Get all the hurt, anger and fear out. Then make a choice to forgive. Write that down also. I know you don’t feel like it. Now get your mind on something good. Let Me handle the one who hurt you. It is time.
Romans 12:19-21 (NASB) “Never take your own revenge, beloved, but leave room for the wrath of God, for it is written,” VENGEANCE IS MINE, I WILL REPAY,” says the Lord. “BUT IF YOUR ENEMY IS HUNGRY, FEED HIM, AND IF HE IS THIRSTY, GIVE HIM A DRINK; FOR IN SO DOING YOU WILL HEAP BURNING COALS ON HIS HEAD.” Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good.” Bev Robinson

April 19, 2012. We have the privilege of partaking of the Lord’s Supper every Sunday at Fullness in Christ Church. Each time, I get really emotional in my spirit. I have only a slight revelation of all that takes place during this sacred time. The Lord says, “Come to Me with complete forgiveness in your heart toward one another. Having done so, partake in all the fullness of who I am. Taste the goodness of Me at My table. Everything, yes everything is found at My table. Salvation, deliverance, healing, provision, is found here. I have established a memorial so you can participate with all I Am. My table is yours. Remember Me.
1 Corinthians 11:23-26 (NIV) “For I received from the Lord what I also passed on to you: The Lord Jesus, on the night he was betrayed, took bread, and when he had given thanks, he broke it and said, ‘This is my body, which is for you; do this in remembrance of me.’ In the same way, after supper he took the cup, saying, ‘This cup is the new covenant in my blood; do this, whenever you drink it, in remembrance of me.’ For whenever you eat this bread and drink this cup, you proclaim the Lord’s death until he comes.” Kevin Robinson
Dr. Joe Fawcett and I Challenge all Church’s is to stop serving stuff with Sugar, you are hurting your people! Stop these donut giveaways! Please stop serving unhealthy food at Church!
Here’s Dr. Joe……….
I came across this article that I have to share with you! It’s written by Mark Hyman, MD…
In a spate of recent media appearances, Paula Deen, the unapologetic queen of culinary excess and indulgence would have us believe that she didn’t eat herself into type 2 diabetes – that it was just Russian Roulette. Genes do matter, but just a little. Sorry Paula, but type 2 diabetes, and in fact over 90% of chronic disease, happens because of bad choices, not bad genes. New research proves that type 2 diabetes is nearly 100% reversible without medication or gastric bypass.
Deen would also have us believe that she really didn’t expect us to eat her signature hamburger sandwiched in the middle of a donut. But whether unwittingly or not, Deen and her brand of junk food have been preying on a very human vulnerability: our innate tendency to become profoundly addicted to sugar, fat, and salt.
Bolstered by “experts” such as Dr. Linda Siminerio, director of the Diabetes Institute at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center, who said, “To my knowledge no particular food has been linked to an increase in the risk of diabetes,” Deen refuses to acknowledge that her sugary, fatty foods led to her diabetes. No food has been linked to diabetes? Dr. Siminerio stands alone with Paula Deen in that belief.
Deen said she would not change her own lifestyle or cooking style drastically, other than to reduce portion sizes of unhealthful foods. “I’ve always preached moderation,” she said. So just have half the hamburger on an open-faced donut sandwich? If all calories were created equal, that might fly. But nutrition research over the last 30 years has demonstrated overwhelmingly that all calories are not created equal.
Food is information. Any sixth grader will tell you that 1,000 calories of broccoli is different from 1,000 calories of soda. Even the American Diabetes Association and Weight Watchers have changed how they categorize foods based on the fact that while chocolate chip cookies and spinach are both carbohydrates, they do not have the same effect on your hormones, appetite, metabolism, or weight. Sorry Paula, you can’t just eat less of the same junk foods and reverse or even stabilize your diabetes.
Paula Deen’s celebration of excess and indulgence is irresponsible if not outright dangerous in the face of our obesity epidemic. Nearly three out of four Americans are overweight or obese, one in two Americans has pre-diabetes or diabetes (or what I call “diabesity”), and, shockingly, 25% of diabetics and 90% of pre-diabetics are not even diagnosed.
Caring for these people will cost us $3.4 trillion over the next ten years. Today, one in three Medicare dollars is spent on diabetes. Our country is becoming the United States of Diabetes. And since 1983, there has been an increase of over 1,000% in incidence of diabetes worldwide. Globally we are becoming the United Nations of Diabetes.
Deen’s endorsement of Victoza, a diabetes drug, lulls us into the belief that the false god of medication will save us from our excess. Don’t worry. Just keep eating 55 pounds of flour and 150 pounds of sugar a year, the American average. If you have bad genes, big Pharma will be there to save you. But remember, the last blockbuster diabetes drug, Avandia, has led to 47,000 heart attack deaths since it was introduced on the market in 1999. Sorry to break the news, but if you are standing on a tack, it takes a lot of aspirin to make your foot feel better.
While some may have a genetic predisposition, those genes only get turned on when doused in mountains of white flour, white sugar, and fat. Type 2 diabetes is almost 100% preventable and curable with dietary intervention. When Deen says she doesn’t blame herself, then whom does she blame?
This week in Indian Wells, California, President Clinton convened the best and brightest minds in health care, business, and fitness to put a stake in the ground that “Health Matters.” President and Chelsea Clinton, Dr. David Satcher, Richard Gephart, Jillian Michaels, and others including myself painted a picture of the tsunami of cost and suffering brought on by the obesity epidemic and the need for innovative solutions in healthcare, our communities, schools, and the workplace, none of which included smaller portions of bad food. Everything from “instant recess” to community-based programs for people to get healthy together, to banning sodas from schools, to better access to real foods for the poor was on the menu at the Clinton Foundation event.
Deen said her diagnosis was not a death sentence. But diabetics have four times the risk of heart attack and dementia as well as an increased risk of a spate of cancers, not to mention nerve damage, liver failure, kidney failure, and blindness. Sorry Paula, but if you don’t make serious lifestyle changes, diabetes is a death sentence.
On the Today show she told Al Roker, “Honey, I am your cook, not your doctor.” Sorry again Paula, but dinner is a date with the doctor. Food is medicine, and what you put on your fork is more powerful than anything you will ever find in a pill bottle.
But perhaps there is a silver lining here. Because Paula Deen can turn this around. And if she can do it, so can you.
At Saddleback Church this past year I partnered with Rick Warren, Dr. Mehmet Oz, and Dr. Daniel Amen in a social experiment. We put the church on a wellness program based on rigorous nutritional science and lifestyle medicine. Members ate real, whole, fresh food; broke their addiction to sugar and processed fats from industrial food; and learned how to shop, cook, eat, move, and celebrate life together. We had dozens of diabetics who not only lost weight but also got off their medications and even insulin and reversed their disease. If a church that started its day with ribs and donuts can do it, so can you, Paula Deen.
Paula, be a cheerleader for America and create new recipes and a new show to teach us that food can be both fun and good for you. Please help us Paula. We need you.

Financial Advice You Need to Know:
Learning to be content can keep you from making poor financial choices that ultimately lead you down the pathway of burdensome debt. Philippians 4:11-13 states: “I have learned to be content in whatever circumstances I am. I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and all circumstances I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. I can do all things through Him (Christ) who strengthens me.” There is a peace that surrounds us when we are content with what we have at any given moment and don’t give into coveting (longing for) what others have. This craving others possessions or position in life, trying to constantly keep up with or out do the “Joneses”, is an instant recipe for financial bondage and disappointment in life. Hebrews 13:5 warns us to, “Make sure that your character is free from the love of money, being content with what you have; for He (the Lord) Himself has said, ‘I will never leave you, nor forsake you.” If God is with you and for you, you can be confident that you can overcome any circumstance or situation that arises in your life. His promises for you are “Yes and Amen in Christ.” Contentment is not to be confused with complacency, however. The Scriptures encourage us to do all things as unto the Lord; our motivation should be excellence. We must aspire to be the best at whatever the Lord has called us or provided for us to do. Earning and then spending, saving, and investing wisely all that God has given us to steward, no matter how large or small the amount, will establish you in a place of contentment and overall financial well being. One of the best methods to achieve a proper level of contentment is to recognize the need to be faithful in all matters. Don’t despise small beginnings. Recognize that the greatest contentment comes in knowing that God will be faithful in all that He does concerning you.
