Dear KKIM Family,
Good Day everyone! I don’t know when you will get this because I am late getting the CUP served up today I have been doing the early morning news shift on KKIM and KARS. Frank Haley is on vacation and Bill Ruhl is getting ready to leave on a mission trip! If you have not listened to our new format on KARS AM 860, please do so,All News, All The Time…..I will also do my afternoon shift today and play softball tonight, Lord Willing!
I am so thankful for John Bevere’s book, “Extraordinary, The Life Your Meant to Live”
Men behaving badly: A topic I discussed on Facebook this weekend…and maybe as tired as I am right now I should not dive into this subject…..but time is wasting away……..
Just in the last few days we have had a County Commissioner here behaving badly….this is the same guy who has said very bad things about women and minorities, but he get’s away with it, now he has his picture taken with call girls in the Philippines. Then we have this Albuquerque Public School Teacher who was talking to his 6th graders about Prostitution and Mistresses! And get this, The Teacher had BEEN FIRED! But still teaching! No wonder APS is failing!!!
I ask where are the men? With the County Commissioners the Women Commissioners showed up at a meeting to sensor the nut case, but the MEN DID NOT SHOW!
And as for the Teacher, the man School Supt did not know anything about it! Out of touch!
Where are the Men?
We have a Women Governor here in New Mexico who is being BOLD for Jesus, where we had a man, who was a wimp for Jesus for 8 years!
Where are the Men?
John Bevere writes, Leaders should remember this when making decisions, civil laws, or other guidelines for those they lead: to approve condone, or look away from immoral behavior is a grievous offense to God. see 1st Sam 3:1 and 1 Cor 5.
We have too many Men, so called leaders looking away from bad behavior!
Paul says,
God wants you to be Holy and completely free from sexual immorality…..
We have told you this before, and we strongly warned you that the Lord
will punish those who do this. God did not call us to live in immorality,
but in holiness. So then, whoever rejects this teaching is not rejecting a
human being, but God. 1 Thess 4:3, 6-8
Men, do not live a life of regrets!
Men are straying far from God’s heart because there are so influences by our society. In so many ways, the Church has become a subculture rather than what we are called to be—-a counterculture! AMEN!
Pursue…holiness, without which no one will see the Lord: looking carefully lest anyone fall short of the grace of God. Hebrews 12: 14-15
Remember my friends, Holiness is to think, talk, and live as Jesus Christ! AMEN!
I better get back to the newsroom………..one more day and Frank is back on Wed! Thank YOU LORD!
Let’s check the mailbag………….
You are simply a lovely, spirit-filled man. ..
I want to thank you for the prayers for my sister, nieces and nephews; Mary’s hip surgery went well, and so far some of my nieces have had some unexpectedly high grades on their Finals ~ still not done though, so please keep all of them in prayer.
I also wanted to mention how very wonderful and touching the National Day of Prayer event was @ my daughter’s school (Hope Christian). All of the speakers were just excellent ~ the High School Principal gave a rousing prayer and they had two soldiers on hand, having just returned from the Middle East, offering their prayers and their thanks for our prayerful support of our military, political leaders and our country. The High School Praise and Worship Band performed and you could feel the Spirit in the air. So very thankful we’re able to send our baby girl to a school centered upon our Lord!!!
One last thing; I wanted to let you know that I plan to send you a check to offer support of your ministry next week. Your kind mention below just reminded me of the humble beginnings of DDC, and the amazing growth you’ve been blessed with ~ Paul and I (and actually many of my family members) are simply in awe of your dedication and so very grateful for people like you, drowning out the ‘nothing noise’…
Love and thanks to you and your beautiful wife & children,
Taunya
Kind words are like honey—sweet to the soul and healthy for the body Proverbs 16:24
Thank you for your kind words Taunya………we are working on getting the CUP Ministry to a non-profit status, please pray…..the Lord is showing me to expand this Ministry!
Let God Be Enough
Posted: 06 May 2012 11:01 PM PDT
There’s never enough, it seems.
Not enough time, luck, credit, wisdom, intelligence. So we worry. But worry doesn’t work!
Jesus said, “Look at the birds. They don’t plant or harvest or store food in barns, for your heavenly Father feeds them. And aren’t you far more valuable to him than they are? Can all your worries add a single moment to your life? You can dedicated a decade of anxious thoughts to the brevity of life and not extend it by one minute. Worry accomplishes nothing.”
Jesus doesn’t condemn legitimate concern for responsibilities. It’s the continuous mind-set of worry that dismisses God’s presence. It subtracts God from the future, faces uncertainties with no faith, and tallies up the challenges of the day without entering God into the equation.
Jesus said, “Whatever you ask for in prayer, believe you have received it, and it will be yours!”
Let God be enough!

Rekindling the Flame of Our Ministry
Read | 2 Timothy 1:6-7
What do you do when you’ve lost your enthusiasm for ministry? Perhaps difficult circumstances have led to discouragement. Or maybe you just keep going, but the Spirit seems absent and no fruit is visible. Paul told Timothy to “kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you” (v. 6), but how is that accomplished? Over the years, God has taught me what to do whenever I sense that my flame is beginning to flicker.
Refill: Ministry is exciting when we’re filled with the Holy Spirit, but everyone springs a leak now and then. Get on your knees before the Lord and ask for a refill. Examine your life, repent of any sins, and submit to His leadership in every area.
Refocus: Nothing dims the flame like fixing your eyes on the problem. Whenever we focus on obstacles, they grow larger. But when we shift our eyes to Christ, He becomes bigger than any problem we face.
Reject: When we’re down, the Devil whispers his lies into our minds: You can’t do this. No one appreciates you. Why not call it quits? We need to recognize all discouraging thoughts as coming from him–and reject them.
Retreat: Turn off the phone, electronics, and entertainment, and get away with the Lord to rekindle your intimate relationship with Him.
After going through all these steps, you will be able to return to ministry with new enthusiasm and commitment. Hard circumstances may remain, but you’ll be equipped to handle them because the Spirit’s flame is burning brightly within you. Rely on Him, and He will empower you for service.

A Moral Problem”
The biblical take on government spending
by Diane Markins
President Barack Obama’s 2013 budget proposal is receiving mixed reviews, as does every other proposal in the U.S. political jungle. Each person weighing in has a unique set of criteria used to evaluate “good” spending and “bad” spending; “necessary” cuts and “critical” tax breaks. The words are the same, but they take on new meaning according to who uses them. Is it possible to find a universal language and matrix that everyone can adopt?
In a report released April 20 by the Congressional Budget Office (CBO), it was estimated that the president’s proposed budget would boost the economy initially, but would cause a decline in later years. The report concluded that increased deficit spending would hinder the economy after the first five years.
The bottom line of this analysis from the nonpartisan CBO: President Obama’s budget would add $6.4 trillion to the national debt over 10 years, which is $3.5 trillion more than under current law.
The president is required to submit a budget to Congress every year. The House of Representatives and the Senate are required to pass a budget annually. While the House (controlled by Republicans) passed a budget in March, the Senate (controlled by Democrats) hasn’t passed a budget since 2009. What is the consequence and where is the accountability for not meeting this mandate?
Predictably, there is an extreme lack of support for the president’s budget from the House. In a vote last month it failed 414-0. In a recent speech, President Obama said the Republican budget is a “dishonest attempt to help the rich at the expense of the poor.” GOP presidential hopeful Mitt Romney says that the president’s economic policies have been harmful to the country.
Is the budget simply another political agenda with posturing on both sides or is there more to consider from a Christian perspective? More important than the budget might be the question of the government’s overall role. The Bible is replete with verses on the significance of taking care of the poor such as Leviticus 25:47-48, Deuteronomy 14:28-29 and Psalm 9:18. Scripture also says a lot about personal responsibility (Galatians 6:5, Luke 12:48 and Genesis 1:28) However, much of this is in reference to individuals as well as Christians, not the government.
In much of the Old Testament, references to government often refer to Israel, whom God favored. It would be inaccurate to apply all of those examples and scriptures in a sweeping motion to American government spending today. However, there is a moral imperative that can be derived from the Bible and applies for all time to all individuals as well as governments. It is simply wrong to create and leave an inheritance of debt to future generations.
“This is absolutely a moral problem,” said Jordan Ballor, research fellow at the Acton Institute, an organization that “promotes liberty and religious freedom.” He goes on, “We have an irresponsible government. It doesn’t have anything to do with one administration or another, one party or another; we’ve got a federal government that for decades upon decades has been spending more than it has been taking in, has been irresponsible, and needs to be taken into account.”
You don’t have to rely on instincts, trends or politics to know that going deeper into debt is wrong. The Bible spells it out in a way that is universally true.
Paul says in II Corinthians 12:14 (NIV), “Children should not have to save up for their parents, but parents for their children.” Proverbs 22:7 says, “The borrower is the slave to the lender.” Accordingly, Christian voters should expect wise, thoughtful money management to be a high priority target at which elected officials aim as the 2012 race for the White House gains intensity.
When you go before the Lord with your concerns, include these requests to Him:
- Install a servant’s heart into those elected to serve.
- Convict politicians of the importance of managing the country’s resources wisely.
- Move your people to speak up against increasing the debt for future generations.
- Prompt believers to be generous and compassionate to the poor.
- Inspire those who are able-bodied to work as though they are working for you.

May 7, 2012. You are free of fear and dread. Start today telling yourself that I AM is your Helper in good times and bad. Nothing gets to you unless it come through Me. For all things are from Me, through Me and to Me says the Lord Most High. Be reassured each time the devil, or you yourself by your own action, threatens fear and dread, I AM your Helper. No man can do anything to you without my knowledge and permission. You have learned to change My mind and direction through prayer. I hear your cries for help and I take action. Look fear and dread straight in the face and eyes and rebuke them. You have My authority to do so.
Hebrews 13:6 (AMP) “So we take comfort and are encouraged and confidently and boldly say, The Lord is my Helper; I will not be seized with alarm [I
will not fear or dread or be terrified]. What can man do to me?” Ras Robinson

May 7, 2012. From time to time a sound wafts through the air that brings peace and causes you to sense everything is all right. That sound was designed just for you. I first brought it at a time when you most needed it. Throughout your life I will continue to bring comfort to you through things that you haven’t heretofore thought about. They will also come at the right time…when you need them. You are my child and I know you better than you know yourself. Think on these things that I bring to your hearing, sight, smell, touch and taste… your senses; rather than on the circumstances that drag you down.
Colossians 3:2-3 (AMP) ” And set your minds and keep them set on what is above (the higher things), not on the things that are on the earth. For [as far as this world is concerned] you have died, and your [new, real] life is hidden with Christ in God.” Bev Robinson

May 7, 2012. Can you allow Me to minister to you? Will you allow Me to minister to you? Your sorrow has lasted long enough. Let My joy come into the situation you are dealing with. At times you actually find a form of comfort in staying in your sorrow. It should not be this way. You have become raw from the tears and discomfort. Let Me dry your tears and minister My peace to you. Psalm 30:5 says, “For His anger is but for a moment, His favor is for life; weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning.” Let My favor and joy come upon you.
Nehemiah 8:10 (NKJV) “Then he said to them, ‘Go your way, eat the fat, drink the sweet, and send portions to those for whom nothing is prepared; for this day is holy to our Lord. Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength.'” Kevin Robinson

Energy Boosters to Get You Through the Day
These natural energy boosters are proved to work. Eating energy-rich foods, doing self-acupressure, and staying hydrated are a few ways to remain alert without the dangers of energy drinks.
Back away from the excessive caffeine (usually more than about three cups of black coffee a day). If you want to short-circuit your slump without feeling wired, you want a smoother, less jolting solution. These natural energy lifters are proven to work:
– Snap open the shades. A jolt of morning light – scientists call it the dawn signal – activates special cells in your eyes that send a wake-up call to your brain’s internal clock. Light up your brain at lunch, too. Sitting beside a sunny window for 30-minutes midday makes you more wide awake. In one study, women who did scored better on alertness tests afterward.
– Top off your tank. Getting to the point where you’re just starting to feel thirsty – a mere 2.6% drop in hydration levels – can double your feelings of fatigue. It made study volunteers work twice as hard on a set of brain-teasing puzzles.
– Squeeze your hand or tap your head. Sounds crazy, but do-it-yourself acupressure boosts alertness as effectively as a small cup of coffee, say University of Michigan researchers. Rap your knuckles a few times on the top of your head, squeeze the fleshy pad between your thumb and first finger, or massage the base of your skull and the front of your shins.
– Have salad and grilled chicken for lunch. Not the tuna melt, pizza, or meatloaf. High-fat foods are likely to make you moodier and more tired by midafternoon than lower-fat meals are, according to a British study. Digesting fat releases a hormone called cholecystokinin, which seems to provoke a brain drain.
– Take a tea break. Black, green, and white teas all contain the energizing amino acid L-theanine. Brits given L-theanine plus caffeine equivalent to several cups of tea and a cup of coffee increased their speed on word and number problems and felt less tired than when they got either substance alone. Nope, there’s no L-theanine in coffee.
– Catch a cat nap. Close your office door or slip out to your car for a quick snooze. In NASA-funded research, a siesta boosted the performance of long-haul airline pilots by 34%.
– Splash your face. If even a 20-minute nap leaves you groggy, stop in the restroom and splash cool water on your face. Volunteers who did this in one study felt the most awake after a snooze. Surprisingly, having coffee just before your nap and then splashing your face afterward seems to be the perfecta of wake-up calls.
