Dear KKIM Family,
Thank you so much for stopping by for a CUP!!! I have missed you all!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Frank is back doing the news and I am back with you!!!!
This week has been something! 3:30am news duty till 5:30pm!!!!!!!!!
I am even more thankful for Frank Haley!!! AMEN!!!
I had to do the news with all my other duties……I only got through this week because of the strength the Lord gave me and the encouragement from friends and the help of Justin Johnson, Bill Ruhl, Paul Holt, Karen Rowe, Jannetta LaMort and Jim Hofflander!
One thing I want us all to look at this morning is what we don’t see, YES THAT IS WHAT I SAID what you don’t see! It is the work of people like Frank Haley, Bill Ruhl, Justin Johnson, Karen Rowe, Jim Hofflander,Paul Holt, Jannetta LaMort, people that are constantly working for our LORD, you don’t always see their work, but it is put out there for our LORD each day and there are countless others each day doing the Lord’s work that don’t make the headlines.
I have been under Spiritual attack this past week and people surrounded me in prayer……I think Justin Johnson called out the army! I started getting emails and text from people praying for me. Friends are so, so very important.
All of a sudden this appeared in my email box………From The Whisper of God……….
He Will Give You Shelter

Today’s Word
“Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear;though war break out against me, even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple. For in the day of troublehe will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.” (Psalm 27:3-5 NIV)

AMEN!
Yesterday was a historic day in America, for the first time in United States History we have a President that supports same sex marriage.
We had a Godly discussion on NM News and Views last night about this, and what happened in North Carolina and Colorado. People were posting on my Facebook during the program about the discussion Pastor Steve Smothermon and I were having about the Presidents stance.
I invite you to friend me on Facebook as some did last night during our discussion, for furthering postings during the day see my facebook, please.
This is one of the comments about our discussion last night……..
Chuck Akeley Enjoyed the show, as I drove home from work… It is refreshing to hear the truth simply spoken and spoken out loud.
Both sides of this debate were covered……
Karen I REALLY don’t think you want my input…but I want to ask the pastor and others, Why do you think it’s your job to make other people moral? My understanding of the Bible is that God made it clear that is His job alone
We addressed the questions of Karen and others and by the time we were done comments like this………
Karen Thank you for your answer, Pastor Steve. It makes sense, but I don’t believe we are called to LEGISLATE morality via laws (such as the recent North Carolina amendment). But thank you for your thoughtful answer. 🙂
It was so AWESOME to have a Godly discussion on this issue…….It is not what we think or want it is what GOD says that counts.
We are as a society straying far from God’s heart because we are so influenced by our society. In so many ways as we said last night on NM News and Views, the Church has become a subculture rather than what we are called to be—counterculture.
As the late Chuck Colson said a couple years ago..The Church and I see it here on the internet, as a whole is just becoming a High School Pep rally……no meat and potatoes…….not the solid Word of God……The 10 Commandments are forgotten.
The incomplete gospel of forgiveness and inheriting heaven is preached but not the complete gospel of also being set free from the dominion of sin. So we are easily conformed to this world, where it’s common for a man and women to live together, have sex outside marriage or with the same gender,…..
Paul wrote a stern warning to the Corinthian Church, which in many ways was similar to our Church today. Please read 1 Cor 10: 5-12.
Pastor Leonard got in on this discussion posting on my Facebook during our time with Pastor Steve……
”In God’s eyes there is no such thing as so-called “gay marriage”. It does not exist and cannot be made to exist” – John Piper -Desiring God
It is not what we think or want……..it’s what God says in His Word.
I thank the Lord for KKIM and for NM News and Views where these issues can be discussed in a Godly way. Thank YOU LORD!
Blessed are all who fear the LORD,
who walk in obedience to him.
You will eat the fruit of your labor;
blessings and prosperity will be yours.
Your wife will be like a fruitful vine
within your house;
your children will be like olive shoots
around your table.
Yes, this will be the blessing
for the man who fears the LORD.
May the LORD bless you from Zion;
may you see the prosperity of Jerusalem
all the days of your life.
May you live to see your children’s children—
peace be on Israel.”–Psalm 128.

May 10, 2012. Your reward is already great and it gets better still in the future. The new season is upon us. The culture and matrix of prophecy is totally changing for those who sacrifice all. Words will have new and deeper meanings. Take note of what is said and write them in your diary or journal. You will want to check them later from time to time. The days of Elijah are fading fast. God will be dealing with some who have prophesied the wind and clouds with nothing in them. All will be exposed and I the Lord will mete to each his due. No more clouds without rain. Your children and youth will stir in and be welcomed ingredients for a better meal. Be meek, humble and righteous. Rewards are high.
Zephaniah 2:3 (NKJV) “Seek the LORD, all you meek of the earth, Who have upheld His justice. Seek righteousness, seek humility. It may be that you will be hidden In the day of the LORD’S anger.” Ras Robinson

May 10, 2012. There is something you have been considering for a quite a while. It’s something you believe will make your life better. The question you need to answer is when to begin. Right now you aren’t sure, but you need to be. You had been thinking it will be in the fall when the weather is cooler. But you should be prepared sooner than that. Begin preparing yourself now. So when the time is right you will be ready. I know you are seeking Me about when. This is very good. As long as you keep your heart open to My ways and My timing you will not miss. I love you.
Romans 8:37 (NASB) “But in all these things we overwhelmingly conquer through Him who loved us.” Bev Robinson

May 10, 2012. It’s a simple saying, three little words. For some it’s as difficult as going to the dentist or doctor. Three little words saying, “I love you.” Let me exhort you to speak those words from your heart. Speak the words, “I love you,” freely and sincerely. Declare the words openly and boldly from the rooftops. The world around you is looking for true love. They crave fame and fortune, hoping to fill the void within their heart. What they truly long for is love and understanding. Will you love without expecting anything in return? Make my joy complete by loving and accepting one another. Act and speak with love and affection.
John 13:34-35 (NASB) “A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. By this all men will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another.” Kevin Robinson
From Ray Sturdivant of Mining The Truth weekdays at 7:35am on KKIM……..
Mining the Truth
Psalm 16:11 You will make known to me the path of life; In Your presence is fullness of joy; In Your right hand there are pleasures forever.
James 4:3 You ask and do not receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it on your pleasures.
I believe the difference between the pleasures of Psalm 16:11 and James 4:3 is the difference between desire and lust. To me, desire is a God given seeking for something that He wants to give in His timing to benefit us. Lust is seeking to fulfill a desire apart from God’s plan and timing.
An example would be; sex drive is a God given desire that He fulfills in marriage. Lust is taking that God given desire and seeking to satisfy it apart from God’s plan and timing.
Desire fulfilled is when God fills the hole in our heart with His presence and gives us pleasures in life to celebrate our being complete in Him.
Lust is thinking the pleasures themselves can fill the hole in our heart and we go about trying to fill our heart with pleasure instead of God.
Fill our heart with God and we get pleasure thrown in, fill our heart with pleasure and we get neither.

THE BAPTIST WHITE LIE CAKE
Have you ever told a white lie?
Alice Grayson was to bake a cake for the
Baptist Church Ladies’ Group in Tuscaloosa , but forgot to do it until the
… last minute.
She remembered it the morning of the bake sale and after rummaging through
cabinets, found an angel food cake mix & quickly made it while drying her
hair, dressing, and helping her son pack for scout camp.
When she took the cake from the oven, the center had dropped fla t and the
cake was horribly disfigured and she exclaimed,
“Oh dear, there is not time to bake another cake !”
So, being inventive, she looked around the house
for something to build up the center of the cake.
She found it in the bathroom – a roll of toilet Paper.
She plunked it in and then covered it with icing.
Not only did the finished product look beautiful, it looked perfect.
And, before she left the house to drop the cake by the church and head for
work,
Alice woke her daughter and gave her some money and specific instructions to
be at the bake sale the moment it opened at 9:30 and to buy
the cake and bring it home.
When the daughter arrived at the sale, she found the attractive, perfect cake
had already been sold.
Amanda grabbed her cell phone and called her mom.
Alice was horrified-she was beside herself! Everyone would know! What would
they think? She would be ostracized, talked about, ridiculed!
All night, Alice lay awake in bed thinking about people pointing fingers at
her
And talking about her behind her back.
The next day, Alice promised herself she would try not to think about the
cake
And would attend the fancy luncheon/bridal shower at the home of a fellow
church member
and try to have a good time. She did not really want to attend because the
hostess was a snob who more than once had looked down her nose at the fact
that Alice was a single parent and not from the
founding families of Tuscaloosa, but having already RSVP’d, she couldn’t think
of a believable excuse to stay home.
The meal was elegant, the company was definitely upper crust old south, and to
Alice ‘s horror, the cake in question was presented for dessert!
Alice felt the blood drain from her body when she saw the cake!
She started out of her chair to tell the hostess all about it, but before she
could get to her feet,
the Mayor’s wife said, “what a beautiful cake!”
Alice, still stunned, sat back in her chair when she heard the hostess
(who was a prominent church member) say,
“Thank you, I baked it myself.”
Alice smiled and thought to herself,
“God is good.”
Thanks for sharing Darlene!!!

Are Your Knees Killing You or are You Killing Your Knees?
(Little bad habits could be quietly destroying this important joint)
When was the last time you skinned your knee? It’s probably been a while since you experienced this commonplace ailment of rough and tumble youthful times. But even if your grown-up ways have made frequent knee scrapes a thing of the past, your habits in adulthood could still be damaging your knees. The only difference now is that the damage may be a little harder to see.
We put an enormous amount of mechanical stress on our knees on a daily basis. And, typically, the knee is designed to take it. But, certain bad habits could be shortening the life of your knees and opening the door to chronic pain and disability.
The way you stand, walk, and move can have a tremendous impact on the health of your knee joints. Taking time now to evaluate some basic choices, such as your stance, your shoes, and your level of overall health and fitness, may help you side-step debilitating knee conditions like osteoarthritis and help keep your knees healthy, inside and out.
Ask yourself the following five questions and find out if you’re being nice to your knees.
1. How much weight are you carrying?
Your knees bear the brunt of your body weight, so it’s crucial that you maintain a healthy body mass index (BMI). Every extra pound you carry adds up to 3 pounds of pressure on your knee joints when you walk, and 10 pounds when you run. So, if your BMI is 25 or more, you may be compromising the health of your knees. In fact, obesity is one of the biggest risk factors for developing osteoarthritis because it speeds the breakdown of cartilage. Dropping extra weight – particularly body fat – may be the single most important thing you can do to reduce the risk of developing a serious knee problem. In a study reviewed by the National Institutes of Health, overweight people who lost an average of 11 pounds cut their risk of osteoarthritis in half. Do you know your BMI? It’s really very easy. Go to this site: http://www.nhlbisupport.com/bmi/ and plug the numbers in and you’ll know your BMI.
2. Are you exercising?
Regular exercise is essential to maintaining knee strength. Without it, your muscles weaken, leaving your joints without ample support and leaving your muscles, bones, tendons, ligaments, and joints vulnerable to misalignment.
Your best bet is to choose activities with a low risk of knee injury. Knee injuries can double the risk of developing osteoarthritis. Daily moderate exercise is much better for your joints than occasional strenuous exercise. Focus on low-impact activities that build stamina, strength, and flexibility, such as walking, biking, swimming, and weight lifting. These types of exercise can help enhance circulation, improve your range of motion, and build the muscles that surround the knee joints. One study revealed that a relatively small increase in quadriceps strength (20%–25%) can lead to a 20%–30% decrease in the chance of developing knee osteoarthritis. Aim for a minimum of 30 minutes of exercise on most days of the week.
Knee-Friendly Exercises
Water workouts provide low-impact resistance and add a strength-training aspect to aerobic exercises such as walking or jogging.
Isometric exercises and yoga strengthen core body muscles as well as leg muscles that support the knee.
3. Are you overusing some muscles and joints?
Staying active is one of the best things you can do to protect your knees, but you should avoid repetitive strain on muscles and joints. For example, repeatedly engaging in the same activity – whether for work, recreation, or exercise – may loosen tendons or damage cartilage and eventually lead to injuries and possibly even arthritis.
Determining if you are overusing a joint requires listening to your body. When you feel pain or discomfort during or after exercise, household chores, or other activities, don’t ignore it. Take a break and consider ceasing the activity altogether until you can perform it without pain. In the meantime, stay active by focusing on other activities that do not stress the injured joint. If the pain does not go away in 2 weeks, see your healthcare provider.
To help avoid overuse injuries, spend 5–10 minutes warming up before you exercise and another 5–10 minutes cooling down afterward.
4. Is your body properly aligned?
Just as driving a car when the wheels are out of alignment causes the tires to wear irregularly, the same principle holds true for your knees. If your body is not properly aligned, your muscles, joints, and ligaments take more strain than they are able to endure healthfully.
Here are some general principles of correct standing posture:
– Your back is straight. Don’t slump forward at the shoulders or waist.
– Your knees are slightly bent – they should not be locked.
– Your abdominal muscles are tight – gently suck in your stomach.
– Your head is centered over your body. Check yourself in the mirror from side to side.
– Your weight is evenly distributed between your feet. Do not jut one hip out to the side.
– A Doctor of Chiropractic will help you assess your biomechanics and teach you proper sleep, standing, sitting, walking, running, exercise, and lifting techniques that can help spare your joints from extra wear and tear.
5. Are you wearing the right shoes?
Shoes that cause your body weight to be unevenly distributed place extra stress on your knee joints. In addition to avoiding obviously uncomfortable or impractical shoes that can throw your stride off and stress your knees, you also should consider a visit to a specialty store if you have special anatomical considerations. As they say, nobody’s perfect. Flat or rigid arches, uneven leg length, and bowed legs are fairly common in the general population, and each can contribute to an awkward stride and put pressure on your knees. Consider purchasing at least one of your main pairs of shoes or sneakers at a specialty store where the staff can advise you on which shoes provide the appropriate support for your foot and body type. Before you go, consider a visit with a chiropractor or a podiatrist. He or she can help diagnose any additional foot concerns, such as over-pronation or supination, and prescribe orthotic inserts that go into your shoes and correct your gait.
Make sure your cut your toenails straight across to prevent ingrown toenails that can cause knee and hip and back problems because they cause you to walk slightly off balance which can create all kinds of musculo-skeletal problems.
High-heeled shoes do add to the risk of osteoarthritis or other knee problems: A Harvard University study found that women who wear high heels have stress across the part of the knee where osteoarthritis usually develops. If you absolutely must wear them, do so for those times you’ll be doing a lot of sitting and not too much walking or standing.
Bottom Line: Be Good to Your Knees Now
Arthritis of the knee is common, but it is not necessarily an inevitable consequence of aging. Taking care of your knees even beginning right now will cost you a lot less time and effort than rehabilitating them down the road. And be sure to take your Fish Oil capsules and Vitamin D3!
