Yesterday our Friend Chuck asked this……….
Hi every one Dewey’s list,
I would like to ask your help in fully understanding:
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NIV)
If You could have any thing in the universe what would it be?
Please give me your thoughts. I look forward to your response.
WHAT ARE: The Desires
of
Your Heart
Take delight in the Lord,
and he will give you the desires of your heart. (Psalm 37:4 NIV)
May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed. (Psalm 20:4 NIV)

Our Dear friends, Pastor Robert Lewis, Miki, and Wanell sent in replies………We would love to hear from you!!!
Chuck,
As we learn to “delight in the Lord”, and as we begin to actually DO IT, our hearts desires change from the things of this world to the things that honor God.
This passage is often misused, mis-quoted and misunderstood.
Delight in Him and you will always be fulfilled!
Blessings!
Robert Lewis
Hi, Dewey –
I have loved that verse (Psalm 37:4) for years.
If you take delight in the Lord, then your heart desires Him.
So He will give you the desires of your heart – Himself!
Does that not seem reasonable?
Miki
Dewey,
Before we repent of our sins and ask Jesus to come into our hearts we are of the world, seeking only what makes us happy and doing only what we choose to do. After Christ becomes Lord of our lives the desires of heart change so dramatically. We are filled with a love beyond comprehension and long only to please the one who died for us to set us free. We delight in His word and begin to hide it in our hearts. We give all praise and glory unto Him who loved us so much that He gave His life on Calvary so we could spend eternity with Him. The desire He puts in our hearts are to do all His word tells us to do, including following the ten commandments and loving one another. “Therefore, there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus”. Romans 8:1
We no longer live as we did. We can turn every need or concern over to God and He will take care of it in His perfect timing.
Blessings,
Wanell
Thank you Pastor Robert, Miki and Wanell……I still would like you all to reply to
Chuck’s question.
I just want to share once again what I have been led to do and say in everything I do.
Be Christ Like, that is my hearts desire in everything I do and say, and that is the
blessing that is on my heart, to be Christ Like, Paul writes in no uncertian terms
“We make it our aim…to be well pleasing to Him” 2 Cor 5:9
For me to be able to be Christ Like, is worth everything to me, more than the
riches of the world.
In the Message Bible Pauls word’s are put this way……”Cheerfully pleasing God is
the main thing, and that’s what we aim to do, regardless of our conditions.”
I love the words main thing! This should be our motivation in the life of every one
of us. First things first.
Okay I would love to hear from you! Don’t be bashful…okay?
I love this from the Whisper of God……..
Thought for the Day
“God already knows everything you have done and thought. If you carry the burden of a sin, admitting that sin is only half of the healing power of confession. The balance of confession rests with an exploration of the root of the sin, a commitment not to repeat it, and then a restoration to wholeness through the forgiveness that God has already given to us.”

Today’s Word
“This is the message we have heard from him and declare to you: God is light; in him there is no darkness at all. If we claim to have fellowship with him and yet walk in the darkness, we lie and do not live out the truth. But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus, his Son, purifies us from all sin. If we claim to be without sin, we deceive ourselves and the truth is not in us.If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” (1 John 1:5-9 NIV)

Today’s Prayer
Heavenly Father, I come to you today baring my soul, a soul that You already know so well. Even though You know me, it is hard for me to admit my shortcomings and failures; however, I know that You will forgive them and, by drawing on Your strength, I will try not to repeat my actions that may have caused hurt to others. Amen.
This is an AWESOME write up by our new friend Paul E. Dawn Jr…………
You Light Up Our Life!
by Paul E. Dawn Jr. on Saturday, February 11, 2012 at 11:28pm ·
For You cause my lamp to be lighted and to shine; the Lord my God illumines my darkness.” Psalms 18:28 (Amplified Bible)
What an awesome verse! When I read this verse today, there was such a presence of the Lord. That He is making me to finally realize that He is the light of my life.
It is He that leads us through the valleys. That He is the light, the one that prepares the pathway before us so that we can see that He is our sole source.
That He will finish that which He has begun in us. What hope there is in this simple verse. It should make us rejoice, to leap with joy. For He will, not maybe, light the lamp, He will keep the flame burning.
Oh, the wick will need trimmed at times and the oil replenished but that is where our part comes in as we stay focused on Him. To allow Him to replenish us each day with fresh oil, fresh manna, that yesterday is gone and tomorrow is yet to arrive.
That each day as we come before our Father we draw strength from Him. We are refilled, replenished. Given what is needed for the day to enable us to walk that path that is set before us.
He will illuminate us. Allow us to see what is needed. What we need to do. To be changed by His word, by His spirit. That He will enlighten our darkness so that we do not have to stumble but rather, He lights the path before us, as we are focused on Him.
He exposes the cracks, the rocks, the things that are in our path as we walk with Him.He so wants us to realize the reality of who He is. That He is Lord. That He takes delight in us when we come into His presence.
He truly delights in us when we spend time with Him. Is that not awesome! That the creator of Heaven takes pleasure in spending time with you and I.
That we each are unique, created by Him for a time such as this and it is only as we begin to realize this, that we begin to understand, that as we go through the valleys of life, as well as the mountain tops, we are brought into His purpose, as we take the focus from us to Him.
Only then will we begin to see. There is nothing that we have gone through that can’t be used to bring glory to the Lord and we can be used as that lamp that shines brightly in the midst of the darkness and allows the Christ within to shine forth and bring hope to others.
When that light shines forth, it will draw others to want to know more about our Lord, that they will see it is a reality, not a theory and desire to know the giver of life and light. Then we indeed will be able to say, “Lord, You light up my life, you give me hope and you make my path clear in the midst of darkness.”
Till later,
Paul aka The Mayor 🙂
Thank you Mayor!!!!

May 15, 2012. Reactivate your generous giving. Your obedience to do this will activate even more blessings back to you from My throne of grace. I challenge you to daily offer yourself and all you have before Me asking what, how, when, where and why to give. My coffers of much more than you will ever need are full and overflowing waiting for you to reclaim your once prominent obedience in giving. Do not worry about the future. I am solely in charge of your future as to finances, relationships and all the rest of your concerns. It is a pleasure for Me to see you again seeking Me daily concerning your committed giving.
Hebrews 13:16 (AMP) “Do not forget or neglect to do kindness and good, to be generous and distribute and contribute to the needy [of the church as embodiment and proof of fellowship], for such sacrifices are pleasing to God.” Ras Robinson

May 15, 2012. Why are you in a dither? It’s not good for your health to worry. When the problem first occurs, your energy gets into ultra-high gear and later comes crashing down. I know you have seen many around you worrying. Just like it was not good for you to see them, it is not good for those around you to see you worrying. Haven’t I always brought you through in the past? It has not been as bad as you thought when you got on the other side of the problem, has it? The simple solution is to tell Me about the problem, listen and obey then lay back and rest in peace.
Romans 8:5-6 (NASB) “For those who are according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh, but those who are according to the Spirit, the things of the Spirit. For the mind set on the flesh is death, but the mind set on the Spirit is life and peace,” Bev Robinson

May 15, 2012. Growing up on a farm in Tennessee, I was always fascinated with our livestock and their grazing patterns. Though there was plenty of green pasture for the taking, some would stick their heads through the barbed-wire fence looking for better grass to eat. They would strain so hard to get the seemingly better grass. The Lord says, “Be satisfied within the pasture where I have placed you. I am your Shepherd and you are the sheep of My pasture. Rest assured that I am keeping your best interest in mind in where I have placed you. Eat and be satisfied in My fields of abundant provision for you.”
John 10:16 (NASB) “I have other sheep, which are not of this fold; I must bring them also, and they will hear My voice; and they will become one flock with one shepherd.” Kevin Robinson
Here’s today’s Medical Bag………
Supercharge Your Health With Spinach
Spinach is one of the most nutrient dense foods on the planet. Popeye was right for choosing this powerhouse as his energy source, except for one mistake; he ate it from a can! Fresh, organic spinach is significantly more nutrient dense and actually has a fewer amount of environmental toxins compared to the canned stuff. Most people enjoy the flavor and texture of fresh, organic spinach rather than the canned alternative. Make sure to pump up your body with spinach on a regular basis.
Spinach is native to ancient Persia (Iranian regions). Arab traders carried spinach into India and China. Traders also brought this green leafy vegetable to the Mediterranean regions of Europe and ultimately to the US. Today, there are three primary varieties of spinach available on the market. Typically the most popular is baby spinach, but you could also go for smooth-leaf or savoy (has curly leaves).
Powerful Plant-based Steroids
Spinach contains its own type of vegetable steroids called phytoecdysteroids. These are similar to insect molting hormones and have been proven to dramatically increase glucose metabolism. This keeps blood sugar levels stable and minimizes the requirement for the critical fat-storage hormone insulin. Additionally, phytoecdysteroids increase human muscle tissue growth rates by 20% when applied in a culture medium.
Spinach is filled with blood purifying chlorophyll.
This chlorophyll is quickly metabolized and used to develop new red blood cells and pull out carcinogenic substances from the body. Chlorophyll has magnesium which acts to strengthen the blood-brain barrier and protect the neurological system from environmental toxins. Spinach is really an amazing source of glycoclycerolipids that protect the digestive tract from inflammatory damage. These are the main fatty acids that makeup the cell membranes of light-sensitive organs in chlorophyll containing plants.
Helps Boost Immunity
Spinach is also an important source of copper, zinc and selenium which help boost immunity. Spinach also contains some very newly studied carotenoid anti-oxidants called eposyxanthophylls. The epoxyxanthophylls that have been researched to show remarkable anti-cancer properties include neoxanthin and violaxanthin.
Vision and Brain Function
Spinach is also filled with the powerful carotenoid anti-oxidants lutein and zeaxanthin. These phytonutrients are extremely important for healthy vision & brain function. The carotenoids act to protect chlorophyll from intense UV radiation. Under intense sunlight, chlorophyll can convert into an excited form called triplet chlorophyll along with singlet oxygen molecules which act as potent free radicals. The more carotenoids a plant maintains the greater the degree of survivability it has and the enhanced nutritional bio-availability provides.
Why Buy Organic?
When purchasing spinach be sure to organic, as the non-organic commercial varieties are considered probably the most heavily sprayed edible plants on earth. Look to buy it fresh to avoid chemical preservative agents and aluminum found in the cans. It’s also real simple to grow in areas of mild temperatures, being a garden vegetable.
