Dear family of Jesus,

Don’t forget to fly the Flag tomorrow for Flag Day!
May the POWER of the HOLY SPIRIT come over you and yours as never before!
May you have the POWER, STRENGTH and PEACE of our LORD!
We have a Dear, Dear friend in need of our prayers, Sister Ruby…..
Brother Dewey,
Sister Ruby is in UNM hospital and scheduled to have surgery Friday. The doctor believes the surgery will take 5 – 6 hours to remove a large tumor which he believes is benign. She is in room 514 and I am planning to see her today at noon.
I will keep you updated as I know more.
Love,
Wanell
We are praying Wanell! We are praying for Ruby she is a sweet angel! I know her from the Open Door Church of God in Los Lunas where I once served as Associate Pastor.
I’m reading a great book by a friend of Doctor Joe….Make My Life a Bible, Miracles Do Happen by John Taylor.
Taylor writes……….Signs, wonders, and miracles should follow us if we could only believe what the Bible says about God and if we abide in Him. Why is it so easy for people to believe in the supernatural in regards to the other things that are in this world, but doubt that God still works that way today? Miracles are more than just physical healing; they apply to every aspect of our lives if we are willing to put our faith out there.
I say Hallelujah to that!!!!!!! PTL!
May the Power of the Holy Spirit come over you today and your are absorbed in the Spirit and realize more than ever how Great God is!
Here are some Spiritual Vitamins………….the first one is from Pastor Brenton Franks……….
Somedays you wake up anxious and you just don’t know why. There is an uncertainity and nervousness that does not want to go away. Remember this promise found in 2 Timothy 1:7 “7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.” God will give you peace if you will seek Him with all of your heart. Fear does not need to have a place in your heart and mind.
From Smith Wigglesworth……..
‘You don’t lay hands on the devil. You have nothing to impart to him. You rebuke him and tell him to go. But you have to be in the right place with God to do that.’ – SW, The Secret of His Power, p49
‘As you come closer into the presence of God, the Spirit wafts revelations of His holiness till He shows us a new plan for the present and the future’. – Wigglesworth, Complete Collection, pg 495
“Some people read their Bibles in Hebrew, some in Greek. I like to read mine in the Holy Ghost.” -Smith Wigglesworth
Here’s one of my all-time favorites that get me FIRED UP!!!!!!!!!!
‘When I catch the first breath of the Spirit, I leave everything and everybody to be in His presence, to hear what He has to say to me’. – Smith Wigglesworth, The Secret of His Power, pg 53.
As we have been talking about here at the CUP have FAITH in the POWER of GOD!
Paul writes in Eph 1: 18-20
flooded with light, so that you can know and understand the hope to which He has called you, and how rich His glorious inheritance in the saints (his set-apart ones), and (so that you can know and understand) which is the immeasurable and unlimited and surpassing greatness of His power in and for us who believe, as demonstrated in the working of His mighty strength, which He exerted in Christ when He raised Him from the dead.
WOW! What words!!!!
Paul is basically saying, ” I ask God to grant you the ability to know who you are by the grace of God.Why? So that you may have FAITH that overcomes the world’s influence and power!
John says…..God’s commands are not too hard for us, because every child of God is able to defeat the world. And we win the victory over the world by means of our FAITH (THERE THAT WORD IS AGAIN!!!) 1 John 5:3-4
Only His Word is eternal, so our focus is on what God says, not on always-changing circumstances.
Don’t get caught on the Merry-go-round of a non believer and just become dizzy in life.
Got a text last night from Janice Arnold Jones that Taos had a good rain yesterday! PTL Janice is in the Taos area campaigning.

Let us pray for the firefighters
Last night on NM News and Views we had Harvey T of KEDU as our guest. Harvey also works with Emergency Management in Ruidoso. He gave us an update on the fire which now has burned at last report 224 homes. This is a terrible tragedy. Let us pray for rain. We are thankful that no lives have been lost in New Mexico because of the fires. The first death because of fires in the SW was reported yesterday in Colorado, a women failed to evacuate her home and died in the fire.
Harvey also reported for us on the FBI raid of the horse track in Ruidoso yesterday as a Drug Cartel from Mexico was using the track to launder millions of dollars for Mexico’s powerful Zetas drug cartel.
Let us pray for the people in Ruidoso, they are in the midst of many challenges in their community.
Let us pray for Scott Flury of the Chama Radio station, today is Scott’s last day on the station as he begins a new career in marketing outside of radio. We are praying for you Scott.
Congrats to pastor Mark Tross and his lovely wife Juliet on their Wedding Anniversary! Love you guys!

The Secret of Contentment
Read | Philippians 4:4-13
In today’s reading, the apostle Paul says he has learned the secret of experiencing contentment in all circumstances, good or bad. Does it surprise you that he wrote this when he was in prison, unsure of his future?
We’re often discontent even when all is going well. Consequently, we wonder how it’s possible to be truly content during our most difficult trials, especially when there’s no end in sight. So what is genuine contentment? Paul is speaking of a freedom from worry and frustration about everything in life–even unfulfilled desires.
It’s usually when we cannot control or change our situation that we feel discontentment. As long as our satisfaction depends on whether certain things actually work out, we’ll allow circumstances to cheat us out of peace. I’m not saying there’s some spiritual stage where you will never again experience anxiety or frustration. But what matters is how we respond when those feelings grip us.
This is something that the apostle had to learn. Paul endured amazing suffering, from shipwrecks and hunger to unjust imprisonment and beatings (2 Cor. 11:24-30). He had gone through countless situations that were uncertain, extraordinarily painful, and seemingly hopeless. But he finally discovered that contentment could not be dependent upon his circumstances.
How do you respond when circumstances are out of your control? Do you get angry? Do you try to escape? Does despair make you want to give up? Paul chose to give his anxieties to Jesus in exchange for peace that “surpasses all comprehension” (Phil. 4:7). That same peace is available to you!

Death Sits in His Jurisdiction
Is the dread of death robbing your joy of life?
At the age of 37, Florence told her friends her life hung by a thread. So she went to bed. And she stayed there…for 53 years! She did die, but at the age of 90!
Except for three years, Florence cowered before the giant of death. During those few years she made a name for herself, not as one who suffered, but as a friend of those who did. She was history’s most famous nurse. Yet, Florence Nightingale lived as a slave of depression and death.
What about you? Jesus came to deliver those who’ve lived their lives as slaves to the fear of dying. Death sits in His jurisdiction.
Psalm 139:16 says, “You saw me before I was born. Every day of my life was recorded in your book. Every moment laid out before a single day had passed.”

June 13, 2012. Impossible dreams have been used by God to change the world throughout the history of mankind. Today, He wants to speak to you of things impossible. Perhaps He will speak to you of dreams and visions already received but stored away out of fear or dread of the cost to follow them. He may have given or will yet give you such dreams again. God wants to impact not only you but all the people of your present and future and He has chosen you as His instrument. Your life is important, every hour and minute you have left on this earth. The Lord says, “I have plans for you to bless you and make of you a fountain of blessings for others. Seek Me with all your heart with an attitude of total faith.”

June 13, 2012. The first time I heard of using God’s Word incorrectly was when someone used the illustration in teaching that we are to eat, drink and be merry. That word, if taken for one’s lifestyle, could be disastrous. “Someone has taken My Words out of context and has built a strong case in going the wrong direction with the wrong motive. This will bring a problem later down the road if you keep believing and acting in this way. Yes! My Word is to jump off the page for you, but it is to be in agreement with the rest of My Word. Surrender your word to Me with complete trust. I will lead.”
Psalms 119:159-160 (NASB) “Revive me, O Lord, according to Your lovingkindness. The sum of Your word is truth, And every one of Your righteous ordinances is everlasting.” Bev Robinson

June 13, 2012. Will you relinquish your attempts to control the situations you’re in? Are you satisfied with the results thus far? Though it seems that you can handle the matters by yourself, have the efforts you’ve made produced favorable outcomes? Trust Me with how I handle things. My perspective is seen absolutely from the beginning to the end. Let go. Seriously, let go. Allow Me to govern your affairs. I really do know what I’m doing. Your best interests are what I have in My mind. You can continue down the path you are on alone or hand over the reins to Me. Let Me guide you exactly where you need to go.

Here’s Dr. Joe………..
Popular drugs taken to fight arthritis pain could be causing you a lot more harm than good.
Why? Because, they block your body’s natural ability to repair cartilage on its own and actually accelerate the deterioration of the very joints you’re trying to treat: they often make your arthritis worse.
I’m Talking About NSAIDS
What’s more, these drugs can destroy your heart, liver, and kidneys… and by the time you find out about it, the damage is done and, oftentimes, is fatal. Here are two testimonies I recently received from two Facebook friends regarding NSAIDS when I posted a brief article about it:
“I found out this info about a year ago, after almost 8 yrs. of giving my son children’s Motrin as a fever reducer / pain medication and he has damage on both kidneys. Basically only one decent kidney. His Pediatrician and Urologist never told me. I found out from his Nephrologist.” Angelica
“My son almost died from taking Motrin when he was very ill. He got Stevens Johnson Syndrome and I took care of him for 3 months. I am very lucky he is alive right now and no ill effects. It was a very scary time.” Laura
Poisoning your body with these harmful drugs isn’t necessary.
NSAIDS is an abbreviation for nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
They work by blocking the production of enzymes that cause inflammation, fever, and pain.
You’re probably very familiar with them, as they’re in every pharmacy and drug store in America.
NSAIDS include every brand of aspirin and ibuprofen you can name, as well as a host of prescription drugs your doctor gives you for alleviating arthritis symptoms. Some of the more popular prescription NSAIDS include Celebrex, Toradol, Lodine, Daypro, and Feldene. I’ve included a comprehensive list at the end of this article for you.
Any search and, in many cases, their own literature, reveal that these drugs cause a wide range of problems including…
– Nausea
– Vomiting
– Fluid retention
– Constipation
– Prolonged bleeding after injury or surgery
– Headache
– Dizziness
– More serious complications include kidney and liver failure, perforation of the stomach and intestines, heart attack, stroke, and death.1
NSAIDS also interfere with other drugs.2 For example, diuretics, blood thinning drugs, and drugs taken for hypertension can all have their effectiveness compromised by NSAIDS and they can, again, do you more harm than the good you’re taking them for.
Yet, millions of people take these drugs each year, perhaps under the mistaken assumption that these are risks they have to take if they want relief from the pain.
By the way, a lot of doctors recommend cortisone shots for treating arthritis but there are some serious risks attached to them, too.
For example, according to experts at Mayo Clinic, these shots can cause…
– Death of nearby bone (osteonecrosis)
– Joint infection
– Nerve damage
– Skin and soft tissue thinning around injection site
– Temporary flare of pain and inflammation in the joint
– Tendon weakening or rupture
– Thinning of nearby bone (osteoporosis)
– Whitening or lightening of the skin around injection site3
The American Society of Nephrology states, “AVOID nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDS) in individuals with hypertension or heart failure or CKD (chronic kidney disease) of all causes, including diabetes. The use of NSAIDS, including cyclo-oxygenase type 2 (COX-2) inhibitors, for the pharmacological treatment of musculoskeletal pain can elevate blood pressure, make antihypertensive drugs less effective, cause fluid retention and worsen kidney function in these individuals.”
Here’s a list of NSAIDS:

Other agents such as acetaminophen, tramadol or short-term use of narcotic analgesics may be safer than and as effective as NSAIDs. But, they too have their unwanted side-effects.
Try the “natural” approach with changing your diet away from things that CAUSE inflammation which are always foods that are fried, fast and fatty as well as comes in a package and are NOT from natural sources. Avoid inflammatory beverages such as any carbonated drinks, sugary drinks, and usually more than three cups of coffee a day. You may want to try extract of willow bark, or turmeric, borage oil, and or fish oil, all of which can be found in most health food stores. Keep in mind that NSAIDS are usually taken for “inflammation”…something is keeping the “flame” going and it’s usually diet related. So, again, a very close scrutiny of one’s diet must be a priority in order to eliminate those kinds of drugs. Nutrition is your most powerful “medicine” or it can be your most powerful poison.
If you have been taking NSAIDS for quite some time or you’re taking them now for pain, please have your doctor lab test your heart, kidney’s and liver periodically.
Remember, seek out information from reliable sources, keep an open mind to new ideas, ALWAYS do your own homework… and combine that with common sense to figure out what’s best for YOU.
