Dear Family of Jesus,

Peace be with you and love joined with faith, from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, the Messiah, and the Anointed One…….Grace, God’s undeserved favor, be with all who love our Lord Jesus Christ with undying and incorruptible love! AMEN!

My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus! Acts 20:24 AMEN!

The Spirit of man is the candle of the Lord……Proverbs 20:27

My Life would really mean nothing unless I used it for the Lord………I can feel the Spirit of God in me……I am sharing this today as my testimony to you! I continue to grow in the Lord, I continue to absorb His Word in my heart, mind, spirit and soul.

There is nothing more exciting than our walk with the Lord……we must continue to grow in our walk and become Christ like, have the mind of Christ. Put on the amour of God each day!

I am so blessed to have my Lord and my wife, and kid’s and doggies.

I am so blessed to have my work that the Lord has assigned me to do.

We are literally one with the Spirit of God. This is why we are told , “No one can say that Jesus is Lord except by the Holy Spirit. 1 Cor 12:3

We can’t live live extraordinary apart from the Holy Spirit. But that’s not a problem because we’re not separate from Him, rather made one together.

Listen to Jesus, He says this in regard to His oneness with the Holy Spirit: “The Son can do nothing of Himself” John 5:19. Again He testifies, “That you may know and believe that the Father is in Me, and I in Him10:38, and again…….

The Father who dwells in Me does the works. 14:10

In a recent survey just about half of Christians do not believe in the Holy Spirit, Well, You are not a Christian if you do not believe in the Holy Spirit.

Let the Spirit direct your lives, and you will not satisfy the desires of the human nature. Gal 5:16

Hear Paul’s Words…..

For those who live according to the flesh set their minds on the things of the flesh (What are you setting your mind on these days?) but those who live according to the Spirit set their minds on the things of the Spirit. For to be carnally, fleshly minded is death, but to be spiritually minded is life and peace. Romans 8: 5-6

Those who set their minds —-their souls —-on the things of the flesh will live accordingly. They’ll be subject to the appetites, lusts, and passions of this fallen world because their soul is drawing from the wrong source! However, those of us who set our minds to receive input from the Spirit will live in life and peace.

Please pay special attention here, this is why we are to be Salt and Light and carry out the Great Commission…….

Paul says, Therefore, brethren, we are debtors, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh. For if you live according to the flesh you will die Romans 8:12-13

Question is how can believers say so flippantly. “Oh, I just got in the flesh?”

It is not insignificant, for Paul warns us that if we dwell in the flesh, we will DIE!

Nowhere in Scripture was it a happy or desirable end when God said someone would die. He said those words to Adam: “For in the day that you eat of it you shall die.”  Genesis 2:17

Adam died physically, but it was many years after his rebellion.

Paul says,

But if Christ lives in you, then although your natural body is dead by the reason of sin and guilt, the spirit is alive because of the righteousness that He imputes to you. And if the Spirit of Him who raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, then He who raised up Christ Jesus from the dead will also restore to life your mortal short lived, perishable bodies through His Spirit Who dwells in you.  Romans 8: 10-11

Again I say that we must be Salt and Light….We must carry out the Great Commission and tell the story of Jesus Christ. That is why I enjoy the Car Show at Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood……it was this past Sunday just about 5,000 people attended, from all walks of life…..KKIM gave out Bibles……..Valley View does such an AWESOME work in our LORD with this outreach and all the other outreaches they do in being Salt and Light! People attended Church, as services were held and many accepted Jesus Christ! PTL!!!!

And many Christians need to dust off their Bibles and absorb the Word of God and take a big drink of God’s greatness as His Word will come alive in you!!!!!!!!!!!!

AMEN! PTL!!! Hallelujah!!!!

Here are my thoughts this morning.

Holy discontentment
The bottom line is that God wants us to want Him. David, a man after God’s own heart, words it this way in a Psalm.
Psalm 42:1 As the deer pants for the water brooks, So my soul pants for You, O God.
Spiritual lust has to overcome fleshly lust. The God sized hole in each one of our hearts is only satisfied with Jesus. The world isn’t big enough to fill this hole. It seems that the common thread that binds those who experience God on a deeper level is their need for more of Him. God Himself declares that He wants us caught up in a deep desire for Him.
Jeremiah 29:13 You will seek Me and find Me when you search for Me with all your heart.
Hebrews 11:6 And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him.
We can place such a high value on pursuing peace in our souls that we neglect the fire for God that He wants burning bright in each one of us. Paul teaches us the secret to being content in any circumstance but Jesus is the reason for the contentment. And the contentment is over circumstances not less of Jesus. In other words, our dependence on Jesus and our hunger for Him will override any need we have in the physical realm to the point that He will fill the spiritual void left by the physical need.
Philippians 4:12 I know how to get along with humble means, and I also know how to live in prosperity; in any and every circumstance I have learned the secret of being filled and going hungry, both of having abundance and suffering need. 13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.
When we allow Jesus to overcome us, a discontentment will start to happen in our souls for anything less than all He has for each one of us.
Matthew 13:44 “ The kingdom of heaven is like a treasure hidden in the field, which a man found and hid again; and from joy over it he goes and sells all that he has and buys that field.
Once Jesus sets the bar in our souls for Him there is nothing on this earth that can satisfy our longings to that level. The world can offer only self-medicating distractions from the emptiness we experience when not in pursuit of more of Jesus.
Ecclesiastes 5:10  He who loves money will not be satisfied with money, nor he who loves abundance with its income. This too is vanity.
We are caught in a spiritual catch 22. We desperately start to want what we don’t deserve and can never earn. It is through holy discontentment while abandoning our ability to earn what we desire that we find Jesus waiting to fill us up with Himself.
Revelation 22:17 17 The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.

A king who did not believe in the goodness of God, had a slave who, in all circumstances would say:  My king, do not be discouraged, because everything God does is perfect, no mistakes!
One day they went hunting and along the way a wild animal attacked the king.  His slave managed to kill the animal, but could not prevent his majesty from losing a finger.
Furious and without showing his gratitude for being saved, the
nobleman said “Is God good?  If He was good, I would not have been attacked and lost my finger.”
The slave replied only “My king, despite all these things, I can only tell you that God is good, and he knows the “why” of all these things.  What God does is perfect. He is never wrong!”
Outraged by the response, the king ordered the arrest of his slave.
Later, he left for another hunt and was captured by savages who made human sacrifices.
While on the altar, ready to sacrifice the noble, the savage found that the victim had a missing finger and so he was released.  According to them:  he was not so complete to be offered to the gods.
Upon his return to the palace, the king authorized the release of his slave to whom he said very affectionately:
– My dear, God was really good to me! I was almost killed by the wild men, but for lack of a single finger, I was let go!  But I have a question:  If God is so good, why did he allow me to put you in jail?
– My King, if I had gone with you in this hunt, I would have been sacrificed for you, because I have no missing finger.
Therefore, remember:  everything God does is perfect. HE is never wrong .
Often we complain about life and the negative things that happen to us, forgetting that nothing is random and that everything has a purpose.
Every morning, offer your day to God.
Ask God to inspire your thoughts, guide your actions, to ease your feelings.  And do not be afraid. God is never wrong!
You know why this message was sent to you?  I do not know, but God knows, because he never makes mistakes…….
The path of God and his word is perfect, without impurities.  It is the way of all those who trust in him, as he says in
2 Samuel  22: 31
Surely this message arrived at the right moment.  May God put in your heart the desire to send it to someone.  Do not be ashamed to send it to the right person.  God knows, He knows why.

God is never wrong!

June 18, 2012. In the course of a year I have seen three people I know, demonstrate humility. I know two of them were determined they were right, I don’t know exactly all the processes they each went through in coming to the point of allowing others to observe their humility, but they have. Each grew enormously in the sight of those who knew. “Is there hurt in your life that has caused you to want to demand your own way or even hurt another? This blonde decides one day that she is sick and tired of all these

decides to show her husband that blondes really are smart.
While her husband is off at work, she decides that she is going to
paint a couple of rooms in the house. The next day, right after her
husband leaves for work, she gets down to the task at hand.

Coffee…Does It Really Do a Body ANY Good?
When someone comes to me for help with their health, one of the first things I remove from anyone’s “diet” is coffee (includes anything that has caffeine in it).  True, there’s a small population of folks who may tolerate coffee and may even enjoy some health benefits, but it’s strongly evident that it’s not for everyone. 
 
Huge odds are that either you or someone you care about is sick, inflamed, hormonally imbalanced, nutritionally-compromised, over worked, stressed out, fatigued, depressed, and toxic.  Coffee is absolutely NOT part of the medicine required for your or their healing.
 
Here are some reasons why:
 
– The caffeine in coffee increases catecholamines, your stress hormones.  The stress response elicits cortisol and increases insulin.  Insulin increases inflammation and this makes you feel lousy.
 
– Your caffeine habit decreases insulin sensitivity, making it difficult for your cells to respond appropriately to blood sugar.  High blood sugar levels lead to arterial deterioration and increased risk of mortality related to cardiovascular disease.
 
– Unfiltered coffee has the highest amount of beneficial antioxidants yet also leaks the most diterpenes into your system.  These diterpenes have been linked to higher levels of triglycerides, LDL and VLDL levels.
 
– The helpful chlorogenic acids which may delay glucose absorption in the intestine have also been shown to increase homocysteine levels – an indicator for increased risk of cardiovascular disease which tends to be elevated in diabesity.
 
– The acidity of coffee is associated with digestive discomfort, indigestion, heart burn, GERD and dysbiosis (imbalances in your gut flora).
 
– Addiction is often an issue with coffee drinkers and makes it really difficult to rely on the body’s natural source of energy.  Ask any coffee drinker about how it feels to withdraw from coffee, and you will mistake their story for that of a drug addict’s.
 
– Associative addictions trend with coffee – who doesn’t immediately think of warm, frothy sweet cream and sugar when they picture coffee?  Surely the business of coffee has inspired a culture addicted to the sugary, fatty tastes of what has become more of a meal than a drink! That morning latte is the epitome of food lacking nutrition density yet packing energy!
 
– 5-HIA, an organic acid and component of the neurotransmitter serotonin (the happy chemical) seen in the urine tends to be elevated in coffee drinkers which means they may be at risk for lower levels of serotonin synthesis in the brain.  Serotonin is necessary for normal sleep, bowel function, mood, and energy levels.  It is a vicious cycle as caffeine can disrupt sleep and promote anxiety and depression. We all know someone who tends to be tired, wired and over caffeinated!
 
– Elevated urinary excretion of important minerals such as calcium, magnesium and potassium has been noted in coffee drinkers. An imbalance in your electrolyte status can lead to serious systemic complications.
 
– Chemicals in coffee can interfere with normal drug metabolism and detoxification in the liver making it difficult to regulate the normal detoxification process in the liver.  Another issue to be aware of with coffee (caffeine) intake is how certain medications such as levothyroxine (thyroid) as well as tricyclic antidepressants are poorly absorbed, making symptoms curiously worse for folks.
 
Okay, so now what?  If you think you can’t cut that coffee (this applies to caffeinated drinks, too) out, think again.  I did it and now I want you to feel the same level of renewal and restoration I experienced. It’s a very wise experiment to provide yourself a break from coffee intake to see what it feels like to live your life on your own fuel.  If you have the right attitude, you can remove coffee and caffeine safely from your system and see how authentically energized you feel.  This includes all “decaf” drinks as well.
 
How to Avoid Withdrawal Symptoms
 
Those who consume the most caffeine, alcohol and sugar, and those who have the highest toxic load, tend to have the most difficulty initially. In any event, symptoms of withdrawal usually disappear after three or four days and in some cases much longer. It’s best to slowly reduce your intake of caffeine and coffee.
 
– Make sure you drink at least six to eight glasses of filtered water daily.  Instead of coffee in the morning, take some warm water with freshly squeezed lemon juice.
 
– The best water to drink is water that has been passed through a filtering process. Common and inexpensive filters are available such as carbon filters like the ones Brita makes. The best filter is a reverse osmosis filter that puts the water through a multi-step process to remove microbes, pesticides, metals, and other toxins. This can be installed under the sink. It’s a great filtering system and cheaper over the long run. Avoid water in plastic bottles which contains phthalates, a toxic petrochemical. Mineral water or still water in glass bottles is also acceptable.
 
– To prevent headaches, make sure your bowels are clean. You should be having at least two bowel movements every day!  I’ve had folks tell me that their “normal” bowel movements are ONCE a WEEK. 
 
– If you are tired, allow more time for sleep and a nap.
 
– Take 1,000 mg buffered vitamin C with breakfast and dinner.
 
– Make sure you exercise daily to help fight off fatigue.  Even simple walking is good.  30 minutes daily.
 
– Some people rely on substituting coffee for real food. When you’re hungry make sure to eat and do not let your blood sugar get low. Have some protein in the afternoon such as a handful of nuts or seeds like almonds, pecans, walnuts, or pumpkin seeds, cooked beans, or a piece of steamed or baked fish.
 
– If you’re irritable or have trouble sleeping, take a combination of calcium citrate 500 mg and magnesium citrate 250mg about 45 minutes before bed.
 
– Drink 1-3 cups of GREEN TEA.  The small amount of caffeine won’t hurt and the antioxidants will heal.
 
– Take a sauna or a 20 minute hot Epsom’s salt bath (be sure and shower off afterwards). 
 
– Practice pressing the pause button.  Withdrawal from caffeine is often stressful.  Research has proven that meditation, prayer and other mindful activities can help calm an over-stimulated and stressed system while boosting the immune system.
 
– Keep a detailed journal and track your symptoms and your feelings.  Note the difference in quality of energy you experience while off of coffee.
 
– If your attitude is “right” then go on a complete elimination program and avoid all refined sugars, artificial sugars, flours, caffeine, alcohol, dairy, gluten and any other addictive substance.  By allowing certain triggers to stay in the diet the body stays on the vicious cycle of cravings and addictive behavior.  Reset your biology by eliminating all these dietary triggers for inflammation and fatigue.
 
– Once you’ve kicked the caffeine (coffee or cola) habit, be an encouragement to others and help them with their journey…but only if they have the right attitude and want to be held accountable.
 
– Always keep in mind that YOUR body is the TEMPLE of the Holy Spirit which is meant to be taken care of 24/7 and your mind is the consciousness of the Lord Jesus Christ.

Father’s Day CUP with Coach John Wooden KKIM/DDC

Dear Family of Jesus,Good Morning all!!! May the Peace and Strength of the Lord be with you and yours!

Today’s theme is from Coach John Wooden who retired after the 1975 season from UCLA, the greatest College Basketball Coach ever! He passed onto heaven in June of 2010 at the age of 99!!! What a Godly testimony he produced for our Lord in those 99 years!!

“Learn as if you were to live forever. Live as if you were to die tomorrow.”

Another quote that Coach Wooden made has impacted my life very much….it has helped me  to be a better Husband, Father, Coach, and Pastor…….

“A coach is someone who can give correction without causing resentment.”

We are praying this morning for Ruby who undergoes  brain surgery today to remove a tumor. Please keep her in your prayers. We are believing in complete healing for Ruby! I talked to her and she is doing great and says she is at peace in the hands of the Lord. AMEN!

Praying for safe travel for Pastor Bill Ruhl and his love wife Monica as they go see family in Indiana.

Yesterday was Flag Day, I pray that you flew the flag!

WOW! I Can you believe this story!!!

 

Kindergarten students at a New York City elementary school were banned from performing the song “God Bless the USA” at their graduation ceremony.
PS 90 principal Greta Hawkins said the song was not age appropriate and could end up “offending other cultures.”
But the song’s author, country music artist Lee Greenwood, said that as a man of faith he was offended by the principal’s decision.
“I wrote ‘God Bless the USA’ about the love I have for this country and the struggle we have gone through to remain free. Our country was founded on the principle that it welcomes people of all cultures and gives them the same rights we have as citizens,” he said.
“However, I feel compelled to echo the faith of our forefathers, who all believed in God and a respect of a higher authority,” he added.
“Personally, denying the children of PS 90 to sing ‘God Bless the USA’ offends me as a Christian,” he said. “My song is about hope, faith, spirit, and pride. How could that be wrong on any level?”
Meanwhile, the American Center for Law and Justice is working to have the song ban reversed, saying banning the song tramples First Amendment free speech rights.
More than 23,000 people signed a petition in favor of the song being performed.
The petition, along with a letter from the ACLJ, was sent to the school superintendent, New York Mayor Michael Bloomberg, and several other school officials.
WOW! America stands for Freedom! of course this is the same city that is telling people you can’t drink soda and theater popcorn! My Goodness sakes! This is why we need to continue to be Salt and Light! AMEN! God Bless the USA is not age appropriate? WOW! It offends??? Oh my!
Many strange things happening in our Country, that is one reason I love putting out all my flags and decorate the front lawn! We also fly the flag at the Radio Ranch! I pray that you fly the flag at your Church, Home, Business! The 4th of July is coming up, MY BIRTHDAY!!!!, sorry Sharon says I am like a little kid when it comes to holidays and birthdays! Someday I want one of those GIANT FLAG POLES to fly the flag! Anyhow with July 4th coming up, It gives you time to get flying the flag at your Church, Home, and Business.Call me an old Fuddy Duddy! I love it when I am called that.I see that we need to get back to some simple basic’s in this Country, they start with God,bringing back God fully into this Country, we need to bring back the US Constitution, we need to respect our Country and teach what the Flag represents and the FULL history of how the United States was founded!

Our flag – the World’s Symbol of Freedom

The American flag, a symbol of freedom. The flag IS freedom to those who fight for it, to those who die for it, even to those who burn it.

During recent days, we have seen the image of OUR flag a little more than normal. Many of us have seen the double flag-raising photo that has made its way around the world via the Internet – the Iwo Jima flag raising and the flag raising by firefighters in New York City after the World Trade Center attack. Not since the Persian Gulf War has flag sales been as high, with some flag makers working overtime to keep up with the demand.

Newspapers, including hometown papers, have run full-page and color flags for us to proudly display in our windows, and we have.

I remember, as a younger Marine, driving through neighborhoods in my hometown, I would see the flag flying high on June 14 and July 4, but not on Aug 14 (which by the way, is my birthday) or Sep 4. Why do we fly the flag only on holidays?

I’m told by reliable sources, my friends, my co-workers and my boss, that neighborhoods throughout American have the flag proudly displayed and flying high in defiance to the recent terrorist attack against her. But, will this icon remain atop the pole?

Recently, I have seen flag shirts, flag stickers, flag bandanas, flag pins, flag hats (flags on hats of major league baseball players) and yes, flag boxers (not worn by major league baseball players or myself – although, I probably would if my wife bought me a pair). Of course my favorite color is camouflage, but, that is, as they say, is another story.

Well, America, the flag has made a resounding comeback. It’s our symbol; it’s our recognizable emblem that defines us as Americans. That’s right, DEFINES us.

Oh sure, we all know that Betsy Ross designed the flag at the request of General George Washington during the Revolutionary War. But, do we really know or think of the story? The Revolutionary War was the tool to shape America’s freedom.

Now, I’m not trying to take Paul Harvey’s job away, but here it is – the rest of the story (the condensed version).

She was 25 years old and already a widow. Her husband died in the ongoing great revolt. Her days mundane until a general came to her asking assistance for a struggling nation.

With both of them planning and working together, the flag was almost complete. The general suggested the “final touches” be 13 stars (the six-pointed kind) to represent the colonies. In defiance, the widow Ross refused to put six-sided stars on HER flag – a flag that would represent a free nation. You see, those were British stars, and to the British she had lost her beloved husband. Only our current five-sided variety of stars would do. Betsy had her way.

So as you now know the rest of the story, even the flag’s design was out of defiance, and we still fly it today, right now – this very minute, out of defiance. Defiance to anyone who thinks they can touch our spirit or cripple it.

But, contrary to belief, at least the belief of anyone who is not an American, tragedy unites people.

A united people holds true to the little ditty that we all learned when we first entered school – to be “one nation, under God, indivisible” as taught by the “Pledge of Allegiance.”

We cannot, through these recent acts of terror, be split in two. We have in fact, become stronger.

I’m sure there will be memorials erected, speeches written and plaques nailed to walls honoring those who gave their “fullest measure” and that’s fine. But the best way to honor those who died – keep the flag flying high – EVERY day of the year.

I really believe we have to start at some basic points…as that song from 4-HIM says, we need to get back to the basics!

Happy Fathers Day to all the Dad’s……..someday I would like to write a book about my love story with my Dad, Grandpa Caraway and Uncle Joe. Many of you know about Uncle Joe how he became like my Dad when my Dad passed on over 20 years ago. I was not writing the CUP when Dad was living on this earth. I was thanking the Lord today for these three men I bring to you this morning, and also my MOM and Grandma Caraway. Grandpa Moede passed on when my Dad was 13 and Grandma Moede passed on when I was 5 years old.

Part of getting back to the basics is the Family! The foundation that one has, starts with the family you are born into. I was born into a Christian family and that started me off on the right track. Many do not have that opportunity, and that is why we must be Salt and Light to the World, to help show them the way of Jesus Christ.

Yesterday I stopped by Bibles Plus to pick up an Amplified Bible, love shopping there also it’s  close to my Dear friend Dr. Steve Hopkins who works out of the VCA Clinic nearby, so I get to go in there and say HI! If you need a Godly Vet, who is just so AWESOME, I will give you Dr. Steve’s info. Also I encourage you to shop Bibles Plus, an family run Christian Book Store at Wyoming and Candaleria.

Anyhow when I was in Bibles Plus, I just can’t buy one thing!!!! LOL I got Pat Williams book on Coach John Wooden.

Wooden was the greatest College basketball Coach in History! Grew up in Indiana.

The love story between John Wooden and his Dad will make you cry……

His Dad gave him a piece of paper on the day he graduated from the 8th grade, his Dad did not have a lot of money, but had Godly wisdom.

The gift’s Joshua Hugh Wooden gave his son that day were a two-dollar bill, and a small card with a poem on one side and seven rules for living on the other. The poem was a verse by Henry Van Dyke…….

Four things a man must learn to do

If he would make his life more true:

To think without confusion clearly,

To love his fellow-man sincerely,

To act from honest motives purely,

To trust in God and Heaven securely.

WOW! AMEN………..pass that along!

The 7 rules he gave his son wrote on the other side of the paper were……

1. Be true to yourself.

2. Help others.

3. Make each day your masterpiece.

4. Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible.

5. Make friendship a fine art.

6. Build a shelter against a rainy day by the life you live.

7. Pray for guidance and counsel, and give thanks for your blessings each day.

John Wooden placed that piece of paper into his wallet and kept it there the rest of his life. He even kept the two-dollar bill in his wallet all the time!

Denny Crum a former assistant to Wooden at UCLA said the Coach carried that paper with him 90 years……in his wallet and would pull it out from time to time to look at it………..it was very faded……but the words stuck to Wooden all his life and he lived that way and passed on the seven rules to all his players and all that he would meet over his lifetime. He had them printed up on little cards and would hand them out.

God and Family…….To me those  words ring so true this Fathers Day! What fruit have you produced as a Father?

The author of the book I am reading says this……….I am convinced that much of Coach Wooden’s amazing success as a coach, a leader, and an influence on young lives can be traced to the simple words his father wrote on that piece of paper so many years ago.

Wooden’s marriage was such a love story, when the Coach at 99 years of age was passing he said, “I’m getting ready to go see Nellie.” Nellie, his wife, had passed onto heaven.

When he was near death, he wanted to get up and shave, so he could get ready to see Nellie.

It was said this about John Wooden, after meeting him one person said, “I felt as if my soul had been scrubbed clean.”

How do people feel after meeting you?

It was also said, “After meeting the Coach I always wanted to ratchet up my faith, my prayer life, my integrity, and my wisdom.”

My Challenge  to us all is this, How are you leaving people? Are you just leaving them with a bunch of stuff that does not mean much? Meaning what type of conversation are you having? What affect are you having on people?

Are you leaving people with a conversation with deep meaning in Jesus Christ that they can take with them and it will help them grow in their relationship with Jesus Christ.

I find to many in a hurry and all they say, is “God Bless you……or I am praying for you… Let’s leave people with more than that(I call these hit and runs!! LOL LOL) …..Let’s be more Jesus like and have the influence like Coach John Wooden has had and is still having.

Get any book on Coach Wooden, when you apply what Wooden says you will be a better human being, just like the Bible, apply what you learn.

Education without application is Entertainment.

Another book I got is “Uncommon Manhood” by Coach Tony Dungy, as John Wooden’s Dad said one of the best things we can do is be in our Bibles and also read other books!

I say give Dad a Bible, get him the Amplified Bible!!! Or the Message Bible, change things up on Dad a bit this Father;s Day!!!  And one of the Books on John Wooden and books by Tony Dungy and others that will help Dad grow!!! AMEN!!!

Coach Dungy says this………This is for all you Dad’s……….

My Mom would say constantly,

“Your word is your bond.”

That has become my standard for life. In the end, character is a blend of inner courage, wisdom, and a sense of duty to yourself, to others, and to something greater than you.

AMEN!!! PRAISE GOD!!!

I had a problem yesterday, so I called Eric, the 11 year old next

over.

As he was walking away, I called after him, ‘So, what was wrong ?
He replied, ‘It was an ID ten T error.’
I didn’t want to appear stupid, but nonetheless enquired,
‘An, ID ten T error ? What’s that? In case I need to fix it again.’

June 15, 2012. God has given us the power to see the unseen.  Stated emphatically, GOD HAS GIVEN US THE POWER TO SEE THE UNSEEN.  Ask God to reveal the hidden truths of this world. Our step of faith to receive Jesus as our personal Lord and Savior was the biggest step in seeing the unseen. Holy Spirit brought conviction upon our hearts. We had revelation knowledge and we were able to see like we had never seen before. The Lord says, “Ask Me to reveal the deeper things hidden as though they are. Though you cannot observe with natural eyes, I will give you insight, discernment, and understanding to out of sight matters.”

Fun Friday: How to tell a good sole (soul) – You really can judge a person by their shoes…and you do not need to look at anything else
 
A quick experiment for you: Look down at your shoes right now.
 
What are you wearing, sandals?  Tennis shoes?  Cowboy boots?  Walking shoes?  Shiny, well-polished shoes?  High heels?  Nice leather shoes but a little scuffed around the edges?
 
Whatever your choices, this experiment shows that you really can judge a person by their shoes … and you do not need to see anything else to do so.

Psychologists from the University of Kansas found that the style, value, color and condition of the footwear can paint a picture of the owner’s emotional, political and other vital personality traits.
 
It is such a giveaway that in the tests, observers who were shown a picture of a pair of shoes guessed around 90% of the wearer’s personal characteristics.
 
63 students looked at photographs showing 208 different pairs of shoes belonging to volunteers in the experiment.
 
Each of the volunteers filled in a personality questionnaire and each was told to provide their most commonly worn shoes for the experiment.
 
The observers were asked to look at each pair and guess the gender, age and social status of the owner, researchers reported to the Journal of Research in Personality.
 
This including whether the owner was an extrovert or introvert, liberal leaning or conservative, their emotional stability, agreeableness, conscientiousness and openness.
 
The team reported: ‘Shoes convey a thin but useful slice of information about their wearers.
 
‘Shoes serve a practical purpose, and also serve as nonverbal cues with symbolic messages. People tend to pay attention to the shoes they and others wear.
 
‘Shoes have great variety of styles, brands, looks, and functions. Because of this variety, shoes can carry individual difference information, but do they?
 
‘We suggest that the answer is yes.’
 
WHAT DID PEOPLE GUESS WRONG?
The observers did well in guessing the characteristics of the owners in almost all the categories.
 
But they did miss some clues. They did not guess, for instance, that the most boring shoes belonged to those who found it hard to form relationships.
 
This is because these people are ‘aloof and repressive’ in their emotions and do not care what others think of them so they do not stand out in their general appearance.
 
This was one of the few cases where what they wear said very little about their personality because it was so dull.
 
Generally, people wear shoes that reveal their personality, whether they intend to or not.
 
Some, but not many, will deliberately choose footwear just to convey a certain public image contrary to their real personality but this is rare, said the study.
 
Some of the clues are obvious. Expensive shoes suggest high earners; flash and colorful pairs belong to extroverts.
 
Shoes that may not be new but are immaculate belong to conscientious types.
 
Other clues are less obvious. Practical and functional shoes belong to agreeable people, ankle boots are worn by aggressive personalities and calm personalities wear uncomfortable looking shoes.
The most accurate ratings were for age, gender and income followed by their emotional stability and agreeableness.
 
For psychologists, emotional stability is vital as it includes a fear of abandonment, rejection issues and the ability to cope with different kinds of relationships.
 
Those with ‘attachment anxiety’ where they worried about their relationships, tended to have brand new and well-kept shoes.
 
This may be because they worry so much about their appearance and what others may think of them.
 
Liberal thinkers, who many think of as sandal wearing hippies, did not surprise. They really do wear scruffier and less expensive shoes, said the research.

I had a Godly talk with our Dear friend Ruby yesterday, her brain surgery is set for Friday. We pray for complete healing, we pray for wisdom and skill for the Doctor’s and nurses, we pray for the tumor to be gone, complete healing Lord, we receive this! We take full belief in your Word in these matters and all matters, In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!

Let us today reflect on our own encounter with Jesus Christ. Thanking God for the ways HE has revealed himself to you; pray for friends and family members who need an encounter with Jesus Christ in a DEEP, DEEP, Personal way.

No matter how low down you are; no matter what your disposition has been; you may be low in your thoughts, words, and actions; you may be selfish; your heart may be overflowing with corruption and wickedness; yet Jesus will have compassion upon you. He will speak comforting words to you; not treat you coldly or spurn you, as perhaps those of earth would, but will speak tender words, and words of love and affection and kindness. Today is Flag Day, Please fly the Flag!

Today is my Dad’s Birthday, he passed on years ago…….he always joked with us Kid’s that the flag was flown because it was his Birthday! LOL! My Dad, Wally Moede served our Country in WWII as a Sgt. in the United States Marines. He served my hometown as Transportation Director for the Schools and Assistant Fire Chief for years.Dad served, he did not expect to be served, that is just one of the many lessons my Dad taught me!

I celebrate Flag Day today, flying the Flag and I will celebrate Fathers Day with the lessons my Dad, Grandpa Caraway and Uncle Joe Moede taught me! Thank YOU LORD for these Godly men!

Flag Day falls within National Flag Week, a time when Americans reflect on the foundations of the nation’s freedom. The flag of the United States represents freedom and has been an enduring symbol of the country’s ideals since its early days. During both events, Americans also remember their loyalty to the nation, reaffirm their belief in liberty and justice, and observe the nation’s unity.

Many people in the United States honor this day by displaying the American flag at homes and public buildings. Other popular ways of observing this holiday include: flag-raising ceremonies; Flag Day services; school quizzes and essay competitions about the American flag; musical salutes; street parades; and awards for special recognition.

Organizations such as The National Flag Day Foundation are actively involved in coordinating activities centered on the event and keeping the flag’s traditions alive. Following Flag Day is Honor America Days, a 21-day period through to Independence Day (July 4) to honor America. During this period, people hold public gatherings and activities to celebrate and honor the nation.

Let us visit some Godly History this morning and learn from this………….WOW! Come HOLY SPIRIT!!!!

You find me referring to Smith Wigglesworth often here at the CUP, yesterday I found out that one of the Greatest Preachers of all-time here in America Lester Sumrall of South Bend, Indiana, where I worked in Christian Radio and saw him Preach, was mentored by Smith Wigglesworth!!! Here’s a little bio on Wigglesworth for those of you who are not familiar……

“The Apostle of Faith”*
I saw that God wants us so badly that He has made the condition as simple as He possibly could—“Only Believe.”

It is arguable that there is no more significant patriarch of the Pentecostal Movement than Smith Wigglesworth. While he was not the catalyst for breakthrough revivals such as the one in Wales led by Evan Roberts in 1904 or that of the Azusa Street Mission in 1906 that was led by William Seymour, it was Smith Wigglesworth’s steady faith and staying power that made the Pentecostal revival the most significant Christian movement of the twentieth century.
Where other Pentecostal ministers would emerge overnight and then disappear from the public scene almost as quickly, Smith Wigglesworth traveled widely from after the death of his wife in 1913 until not long before his death in 1947. During these decades his ministry of faith and miracles changed the face of Christianity and set the stage for the Charismatic Renewal that would restore the ministry of the Holy Spirit to the modern church.

For those of you who do know of Dr. Sumrall………..

Lester Frank Sumrall was born February 15, 1913 in New Orleans, Louisiana to George and Betty Sumrall. His mother was a strong Christian, but his father was lukewarm in his faith. His mother committed him to God before Lester was born and prayed that he would become a preacher. He was born the sixth child of what would eventually be a family of eight children. Betty would invite itinerant evangelists to stay in their home while meetings were being held in their church. This would often mean an extra family to feed and house and Lester didn’t like the stress that it added to the household. He decided he didn’t like evangelists and certainly never wanted to be one!
Betty Sumrall was an incredible prayer warrior and prayed for her family constantly. Lester saw some very miraculous events in their lives. One day she was diagnosed with breast cancer. She surrounded herself with women who would pray for her on a regular basis. During the night in the midst of this battle Jesus came into her room and touched her. She was healed from that time on. When Lester’s grandfather had a stroke he became incapacitated. He could not feed or clothe himself. The family brought him into their house and Betty decided to get the women’s prayer group to pray for him. They led him to Christ and began to pray. He was in a wheelchair and could not move his legs or arms. The power of God came upon him and he got up out of the wheelchair and could walk and move his arms. He returned home to live fifteen more years on his own.
Lester got in with a “bad crowd” and dropped out of school at sixteen. Shortly after he began to have health problems and spit up blood. He was diagnosed with tuberculosis, a veritable death sentence. He continued to worsen and dropped to 93 pounds and become bedridden. Once more his mother called her prayer warriors together to regularly pray for Lester. On his seventeenth birthday the doctor declared he was about to die and even went to write the death certificate. In the night God gave Lester a vision. On one side of his bed was a coffin on the other side of the bed was a bible. He was given a clear choice, either preach the gospel or die of tuberculosis that night! He decided to preach the gospel. He was healed and the next morning he ate food for the first time in a long time, and within three weeks had packed his bag to hit the evangelistic trail.
It was a rough start. Lester and a fishing buddy, who went along as a song leader, hit the back woods of the deep south. They were unpolished and hard on people as Lester preached his messages. Something must have been working because everywhere he went he got a group big enough to start a church and he would send to his denomination to send for a pastor for the new group. Hundreds were saved. Seeing his success they ordained him.
In 1931 God began to deal with Lester’s motives. He’d agreed to preach the gospel to save his life but he didn’t have a real concern for people. God gave him a vision of multitudes of people in foreign countries going to hell. God broke his heart for the lost that night. God called him to be an international evangelist and preach the gospel to the whole world. He was never the same again. Eighteen months later God connected Lester with Howard Carter, an internationally known bible teacher and they began to travel the world together. They traveled to Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Java, the Dutch East Indies, Tibet, Manchuria, Japan, Korea, Germany, Brazil, Bolivia, France, Spain, Portugal, and England. They would go to an area and Howard would go to one place to preach and Lester to another. Some remarkable healing and deliverance began to occur in Lester’s meetings. People were being healed and saved by the thousands.
During the war in the 40’s Lester returned to the US, Mexico, Central, and South America. While in Argentina Lester met another missionary named Louise Layman. They hit it off and were married two years later. They began to minister as a couple in Cuba, Haiti, and Puerto Rico. At one point Louise got malaria but God healed her in answer to Lester’s prayers. They continued on to Guyana, Surinam, Brazil, Argentina, Peru, Ecuador, Uruguay, and Panama. They only slowed down when Betty found herself pregnant and they returned to the United States. God called the couple to set up a base in South Bend, Indiana for the next few years.
In 1950 God called the family to Manila in the Philippines. The work was tough going until a girl who was demon possessed was making national news. God asked Lester to pray for her. The deliverance and healing was so public and so dramatic that papers everywhere carried the story. The entire country became open to the gospel. He held revival meetings for six weeks and the crowd was estimated one night at sixty thousand. Clifton Erickson came over from the United States to help in the meetings. One-hundred and fifty thousand were saved over those weeks. A famous actor who couldn’t walk was healed which gave the group even more media attention. A lawyer who’d been on crutches for twelve years walked out holding them in his arms totally healed.
God called the family back to the United States in the 1960’s to begin a pioneering television work. His preaching began to be heard all other the US and the world. He also started a ministry to feed the starving worldwide after God gave him a vision calling him to care for the dying. He remained faithful to the visions God gave him and went home to be with the Lord on August 28, 1996.

Dr. Sumrall passed onto Heaven a year after we moved to New Mexico. I stay in contact with his son Steve, who has a wonderful Ministry that we have worked with from time to time at KKIM.

Two General’s for God, Wiggelsworth and Sumrall………who believed in Evangelism, Healing and Deliverance……Look what Wiggelswoth passed down too many like Dr. Sumrall. I pray there is a REVIVAL IN PASTORS that catch the FIRE of the HOLY SPIRIT for Evangelisim, Healing and deliverance. God has not changed, He is the same God when Wiggleswoth and Sumrall walked this earth, it’s the Church and many Pastor’s that do not believe in Evangelism, Healing and Deliverance anymore!

Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, and today, and forever Hebrews 13:8, it is us, the Church that has changed!

WOW! WOW! The Lord has shown me much from the lives of Wigglesworth and Sumrall!

First of all let me say something about Lester Sumrall is that he has a spirit of faith that few have ever had. He was personally mentored by Smith Wigglesworth. at 17 yrs old he left home during the depression to start the ministry. Had no money, preached in a barn on a pig farm several nights later. And within a short time became one of the wealthiest ministers. How? well he preached to a bunch of farmers, they were spitting chew in a bucket and laughing at him, within a short time all of them got saved and a mighty revival was poured out. When they took the offering the most he got was i believe 16 cents. He said I don’t believe anyone could live on 16 cents. The Lord gave him an idea. The Lord said, Your asking them for something they don’t have (money) ask them for something they do have… chickens and pigs. So the next night he told them they he couldn’t live on 16 cents that he wanted them to start to bringing a chicken or a pig for their offering, they had 2 pins put outside and they began to do it. In a short time he traded the live stock for cash and drove a brand new Ford truck, DURING THE DEPRESSION!! Left home earlier on foot had no money or car and that’s how he began to live by faith. He listened to the voice of God and obeyed.

This is a Kicker…..Wigglesworth was the same way as Dr. Sumrall….he did not care what man would think or say about him…..read this…..Gene Coulter wrote this in reply to Kim’s posting…..

.of course I am older than you are, but I have been in Lester’s meetings and the older he got the more he did not care what anybody thought about what he said. He told a group in a church in C/S that the fat people there should eat less and give more to feed the hungry in other parts of the world.

LOL!!! Dr. Sumrall would go all around the World feeding the nations. His son Steve carries that mission to this day. Dr. Sumrall, like Wigglesworth feared no man, but feared God.

Let us remember this……..The person who Fears God has nothing to hide. In fact, he or she is scared to be away from God. AMEN!

What can we learn from the lives of Wigglesworth and Sumrall??? God is the same as he was then, it’s we, the Church that changed and we need Revival in Pastor’s and in the entire Church and take to the streets with the FULL GOSPEL and not part’s of it that is for our society and pleasing to the offering plate!

I am so FIRED UP in the HOLY SPIRIT!!!!!!!!!! The LORD is showing me to be Salt and Light and carry out the Great Commission. Thank YOU LORD for the lives of Smith Wiggleswoth and Dr. Sumrall.

June 14, 2012. Recently I saw a bumper sticker on a car which stated “just be nice” all written in lower case letters. What a concept. Here in the United States anger has escalated astronomically on the streets we travel. Unfortunately, people are quick to justify their behavior saying their anger was spawned because someone invaded their private space.The Lord says, “Live a lifestyle of kindness. Show forth compassion in the same fashion which I have shown you. Exhibit a respectable, pleasant, and enjoyable way of life before all. Be a standard bearer of acceptable social and moral character. Be about being nice to each person you encounter. Let everyone see Me in you.”

For the Sake of Your Well-being: Prepare Early for this Year’s Hurricanes… and Tornadoes

The potential for extreme weather is quite high this year and as a direct result your health could be an issue in more ways than one. The hurricane season officially started on June 1. But it got an early start this year when both tropical storms Alberto and Beryl launched in May. This is only the third time we’ve had two named storms before June 1 since records have been kept.

Recently, Colorado State University raised its predictions for the number of named storms for the 2012 hurricane season:
– Increased the number of tropical storms forecasted by 30%, from ten to thirteen;
– Raised the number of predicted hurricanes (with sustained winds of 74 mph or above) to five;
– Expects at least two major hurricanes (Category 3, 4, or 5 with winds above 100 mph);
– The probability of one major hurricane making a direct hit on any part of the U.S. coastline is nearly 50%;
– Early confirmation of this forecast seems ominous. Over the Memorial Day weekend, tropical storm Beryl slammed into the East Coast and caused a ruckus:
It damaged houses and businesses in North Charleston, North Carolina;
Lowland flooding occurred near Wilmington, North Carolina;
Power went out all over North Carolina, Georgia, and Florida;
It also caused more flooding in Florida: 12.65 inches of rain dropped near Tallahassee;
Beryl closed down Jacksonville International airport, closed bridges, and cancelled garbage collection services;
Beryl wasn’t a major hurricane with 100 miles per hour (mph) or greater winds; it was a “weaker” tropical storm with winds around 55 mph.

Even though you may not live anywhere near the ocean, considering this early tropical storm, we need to prepare now for the hurricane season and the inland storms it produces.

What’s Driving This Hurricane Season?
According to historical climatologist and consultant Evelyn Browning-Garriss it’s heat, heat, and more heat.

We have a very hot Atlantic, as hot in May as it is during mid-July. The temperature is hotter than normal, and starting earlier than normal, too. It’s not just the Atlantic; the Pacific is more active than normal, too. This is the first time both Pacific and Atlantic tropical storms are starting before the season officially begins.

Thank goodness she does not blame global warming. Instead, the Earth’s natural rhythms are the cause of warmer climates and wind patterns that affect our regional weather.

We are in the tail end of two-year-long La Nina. At the same time the world’s weather is affected by two long-term climate trends: the Pacific Decadal Oscillation (a 20-year cycle), and the Atlantic Multi-Decadal Oscillation (an 80-year cycle in which we’re in the 40 year warm-up phase). All these moving parts work together to help warm the waters and the land – and affect the storms around the U.S. They make weather prediction tricky.

More Tornadoes across America as Well

Tornado season can last all year long. Normally, during the winter tornado weather starts in the gulf and then moves north as spring progresses through the continental U.S. and warms the ground.

This season we’ve seen high temperatures throughout the U.S. and warm unfrozen ground have created ideal conditions for low-lying thunder storms that can lead to tornadoes.

According to the National Climatic Data Center, the U.S. has already broken more than 6,000 heat records. Browning-Garriss says the U.S. has broken all tornado records with 319 reported. For instance, March typically has around 80 tornadoes, but this year there was 160 in a single outbreak.
There was even a tornado in Hawaii!

Another unique situation, storms have been developing further eastward, due to La Nina. Tornadoes have hit unexpected and unprepared places, like when eight twisters landed on Michigan early in the year.

Be Prepared and Have a Plan!
Being ready (prepared) is prudent and common sense – it’s the healthy thing to do.

A prudent [man] foresees evil and hides himself, But the simple pass on and are punished. Proverbs 22:3

But, if you don’t think you’re properly prepared for emergencies, here’s some easy suggestions for you to look into.

– Be aware of your risks. You can track hurricanes through the National Hurricane Center: http://www.nhc.noaa.gov/

– Set up a family communication plan, says FEMA Administrator Craig Fugate. Lessons learned from last year’s Joplin tornado revealed that cell phones are more effective for sending texts rather than calls. And, the Internet is a fast way to communicate with many people at once.

– Power typically goes out during severe weather. Have access to generators, battery powered devices, extra batteries, and even battery-operated cell phone chargers.

– Pre-plan your options. Know your surroundings and create a plan (including back-up plans) with your family. This way you know your next steps even if you can’t reach anyone by phone.

– Make sure you have supply of long-shelf-life emergency food, water, and supplements. It doesn’t have to be expensive, and every home should have some.

– Have a pre-made emergency kit (bug out bag) with essential supplies unique to your family. This way you can grab it and go in a sudden evacuation. Folks often get little advanced notice if at all.

No one can pinpoint where a severe storm will hit. Referring to Hurricane Irene last year, Fugate said in a CNN report, “If you live along the Gulf Coast, the Atlantic, and as far inland as the folks in Vermont found out last year, you need to be prepared.”
