Dear Family of Jesus,
Grace, unmerited favor, be with you and peace from God the Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, Messiah, The Anointed One.
We ought and indeed are obligated, as those in debt, to give thanks always to God for you, brethren, as is fitting, because your faith is growing exceedingly and the love of every one of you each toward the others is increasing and abounds………
Let us go to prayer…………..
Dewey:
I have an urgent prayer request. Robert Perry was doing a 25,000 mile Motorcycle ride in 25 days with proceeds to benefit the Make-A-Wish Foundation of New Mexico. He was hit by a vehicle and is in very serious condition in a Houston hospital. He is in surgery right now and is losing a lot of blood. He had his leg amputated and has a broken pelvis. Thanks!
Sandy Harrington
Robert had pulled over to the side of the road in Texas, as it was raining and he was talking to his granddaughter on the phone when he was struck by the car. Just think he was off on a journey to travel a 1,000 miles a day for 25 days, Sandy said he was so looking for to this!
After Sandy’s call, a call was made to Legacy Church here in Albuquerque and they called a former Pastor of the Church who now lives in Houston and he went and prayed with Robert and family. PTL!
Robert came out of surgery in good shape, however last update at 10:18pm last night was that he had to go back into surgery as he was bleeding internally. Please keep Robert in your prayers.
Please pray for Ernie and Cathy as they prepare for their marriage this Saturday. They are thankful for your prayers!
Ruby is recovering from her brain surgery and doing well. Please keep her in your prayers.
Today we tape the first two programs for “Dewey and Friends” a presentation of For God’s Glory Alone Ministries. Our purpose is to be Salt and Light in everything we do. Our thanks to Pastor Ray and Brenton Franks, Howard, Isaac, and Steve for all their help in re-launching this program on KAZQ TV 32 for God’s Glory Alone! The first program will air the first Saturday in July, the 7th, at 6pm.
God’s Glory Alone Ministries is a group of Friends who have come together to lift up the Ministry that the Lord has given me. Please be in prayer for us, thank you so much.
I ask for your prayers in everything I do, being a Husband, Father, Pastor, and looking over the Ministry. Please keep Sharon and the Kids in your prayers. Thank you so much. I pray over all the names that the CUP is sent to each day!
After yesterdays posting I got this email from Rene Dokken………what a blessing! Rene talks about Orphan Hearts, some say Orphan Spirits or Spiritual Orphans…..read through these next two articles carefully, prayfully…..let the Lord speak to you as you read and pray through your reading…….When I read what Rene sent, it helped me understand two people I am counseling.
After you finish the following two articles, next up will be Pastor Paul Holt writing about morality of a nation affecting the weather (drought, storms) and economics (depression) of a nation. It is a very DEEP GODLY writing, just like the two you are going to read now. PTL Hallelujah!
Such a good cup today Dewey (they all are) but this one struck a chord as I have just been reading about Orphan Hearts (Orphan Spirits). Believers who don’t realize what their inheritance in Christ really means. Are they truly living as adopted Sons of the Most High God?
The following is from a website from Sojurn Campus Church. It really helps you understand what the results of this ungodly belief are. I pray that many come to realization that God wants so much more for them than they are experiencing, a real and powerful life as His son or daughter.
Blessings and Peace,
a daughter of the King-Rene’
Fruits of an orphan mindset
Instead of walking through the story, I will simply list some of the fruits of an orphan heart. All or some of these symptoms you may recognize in your self-conception, as I do in mine:
1. We struggle to believe that God is committed to satisfying our hearts deeply. It is one thing to trust in God’s care and provision for ‘the basics’; but are we fully convinced he will give us our “dream life”? Instead of joyful, hope-filled submission, we struggle with feelings of impatience, feeling “left behind”, dreaming about another life than the one we are in. We feel stuck and stifled where we are at. I am not suggesting that life will go exactly how we envision it – but I am saying that God promises to satisfy our hearts richly with his goodness and mercy.
2. We give ourselves over to sin to compensate for feelings of dissatisfaction. “Sin is what you do when your heart is not satisfied with God” (John Piper, Future Grace). The son felt stuck and stifled in hopeless dissatisfaction under his father’s care, so when he sought “freedom” he did not live a quiet and contented life! No, he “compensated” by reckless living – giving himself over to the pleasure/pain of sin. We all stumble and sin but it is normal to quickly return to the Father. It is when we somehow “pay back” ourselves in yielding to envy, anger, despair or lust we can see the orphan spirit in us.
3. Our repentance is defiled with thoughts of punishment, loss and unworthiness. Let me offend you by saying this: “A true son is a cheerful sinner”. I am probably overstating myself, but only just a little! A true son will stumble, stop, say “Oh crap, Dad! I messed up. Sorry!” and clamber back into his Daddy’s lap. A son repents quickly and is restored completely. A orphan mindset expects punishment where there is none; it assumes sin or failure results in permanent loss with no hope of restoration; and it resists God’s extravagant love the moment we turn to him. How long will you walk under that dark cloud? The Father restored the errant son before he was cleaned up, before he could complete his well-prepared supplication! Could it be that God wants us back in his arms more than we want to be back with him? He thinks restoration is way more glorious than punishment!
4. We labor under a performance mentality. The older son was an account-keeper. He felt his service should be rewarded at least modestly. You may feel that your performance does not merit any blessing or more blessing from God – but the issue is that we are constantly evaluating ourselves and others. Who works harder? Who is more faithful? Who is more committed? Who is more passionate? Who is more loving and accepting? It comes down to: Who is better? The problem with account-keeping is that in God’s eyes, all accounts have been closed already and marked “Paid in Full”! He relates to us purely out of grace because of the Cross. This mentality is another manifestation of the orphan heart.
5. We struggle to enter into God’s celebration of his sons. What do you feel about someone like Todd Bentley? Is our envy of his gifting matched by our satisfaction that he fell into shame? Are we angered to think that he is now “claiming” to be restored and ready to minister again? If we can’t enter into heaven’s party mentality for others, it is likely that we never entered into the party God threw for us when we were restored to him! Dude, did you even go to your own party? Maybe we first need to go to God’s greatest party; the one he threw when his First Son, Jesus, perfectly obeyed him and came to sit at his right hand. Actually, I think that party is still going strong, and it may never end! I suspect heaven is way more joyful and jubilant that we imagine. The orphan spirit is a religious, judgmental, self-focused spirit. The spirit of adoption is a party spirit that dances and feasts freely and joyfully. Do you get it? He delights in you and is always ready to throw a party for you! You can even throw your own party — anytime you want!
6. We struggle to believe in the overwhelming goodness and generosity of God. To enjoy what you have, you must truly believe that it is yours to take. God would say to us “Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours”. Do we really believe we have free access both to him and to his gifts? That is outrageous! I think we live more conscious of our failings and inadequacies than of God’s unmerited and extravagant love.
An Adopted Heart
So what does an adopted heart look like?
1. A heart that knows that God is committed to fully satisfy it’s deepest desires
2. A heart that embraces joyful, hope-filled submission to God
3. A heart that repents quickly and embraces God’s restoration fully
4. A heart that is enjoying intimacy, not evaluating who is better than whom
5. A heart that enters into God’s celebration of his sons
6. A heart that expects and enjoys intimacy and favor with God
Prayer: “God I am your beloved Son and you are so much more generous and compassionate that I can ever imagine. You love to restore me and freely give me all things. Help me truly embrace the rights and intimacies that are mine through Sonship in Christ. I want to walk with you and fully enjoy my inheritance in Christ. Amen”.
For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father.”
Romans 8:14-16
But when the fullness of the time had come, God sent forth His Son, born of a woman, born under the law, to redeem those who were under the law, that we might receive the adoption as sons.
Galatians 4:4-6
Thanks so much for sharing Rene……..Friends, I would read it again, it may bring to mind a family member, a friend, or maybe it is speaking to you………….Let us be in constant prayer
More on Spiritual Orphans……………
Spiritual Orphans
By: Donna J. Kazenske
What is a spiritual orphan? A spiritual orphan is one who feels alone; one who feels that they do not have a safe and secure place in the Father’s heart where He can affirm, protect, provide and express His love to them. They feel as if they do not belong. They are full of fear, anxiety and insecurity.
Spiritual orphans cannot receive the love of the Father because they have been personally abused, hurt, rejected and wounded by their earthly fathers or those in authority over them. They cannot receive the love of their heavenly Father because they cannot bring themselves to a place of being able to trust Him. Trust involves vulnerability. Trust involves receiving. Spiritual orphans cannot trust or receive until the unhealed issues and hidden cores of pain are attended to. Basic trust is a real issue in the life of a spiritual orphan.
Trust involves opening your heart to others. Spiritual orphans have closed their hearts because they are afraid of being hurt. They refuse to make themselves vulnerable to others because of past hurts and pain. Their spirits are closed to a love relationship with their heavenly Father because they do not trust Him. Instead of running to God, they are continually running away from Him.
Spiritual orphans are dysfunctional because they lack the basic trust needed to have healthy relationships with those in authority. They find themselves battling with fear, control issues, independence and pride. They are not able to have intimate relationships because they are not able to receive comfort or love from God or others.
Spiritual orphans are those who remain in the outer court of God’s presence. They do not have the capability to enter into the Holy of Holies because they fear intimacy. They have closed their hearts as a type of protection.
They are not able to submit to authority because of fear. Submission involves having an open heart. Submission involves vulnerability, closeness and honesty in relationships. Submission is an act of humility and receiving that releases God’s grace and abilities in our lives. Submission has the power to set us free from our fears and insecurities.
Spiritual orphans have an independent spirit which often causes them to hide or deny pain. They like to control relationships with anger, passivity, isolation or various other means. They keep their distance from those who are in authority or from those who are able to help them.
Spiritual orphans often find comfort and identity in money (by possessing material things), addictions (to alcohol, drugs, food and other forms of immorality), position (looking for acceptance by obtaining the praise of man or striving to be seen by man), and power (by controlling their own lives).
Spiritual orphans focus more on God’s acts than on His ways. They tend to keep themselves busy doing religious activity out of duty instead of relationship. In their limited understanding, love is not received, but earned. Their ungodly belief system tells them that they need to do more and more in order to be accepted by God. They are deceived into believing that they will never measure up to God’s standard because they can never do enough to attain His love and acceptance.
Have you ever seen a hamster running around and around in a circular exercise toy? This type of activity is very similar to the lifestyle of a spiritual orphan. They have no sense of direction or destiny. They live their lives by just going through the motions.
Spiritual orphans are servants only and not sons or daughters of God. Servants perform duties, while sons and daughters receive the love of the Father.
I believe that we are in a season of becoming the true sons and daughters of God. The Holy Spirit is putting His finger in the hidden places of our hearts so that we can be healed and restored to a deeper relationship with Him. He desires more than and outer court relationship with us. He desires intimacy which involves inner court relationship. Inner court relationship involves trust and vulnerability.
Sonship is a matter of attainment and with it comes the privilege of authority in God. The body of Christ has not been fully operating in the authority of God because we are still functioning as spiritual orphans.
Jesus was declared the Son of God by His Father on the day of His baptism. Baptism represents death and resurrection. Baptism is a going down, a submitting unto death and an immersion into it. Resurrection can only take place after a death experience.
We must die to this orphan spirit. We must die to any independence of doing our own thing or doing our own will. We must die to any and all ungodly beliefs that keep us from becoming sons and daughters of God.
Spiritual inheritance is obtained only after death.
Hebrews 1:3 – “…..when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high, having become so much better than the angels, as He has by inheritance obtained a more excellent name than they.”
What is this verse saying? What name did Jesus obtain through His death and resurrection? He obtained the name, “Son of God.”
Luke 3:22 – And the Holy Spirit descended in bodily form like a dove upon Him, and a voice came from heaven which said, “You are My beloved Son; in You I am well pleased.”
After Jesus was baptized, symbolizing His death and resurrection, the Father made a decree from heaven to the world that Jesus was His beloved Son.
The Father in heaven is now waiting to decree our sonship to not only the world, but also to the principalities and powers of hell. When God the Father decrees our sonship as a result of our spiritual death and resurrection, the demons in hell will tremble because we will walk in the true authority and power of God.
It’s time for us to get right with God. We need to repent and receive forgiveness through His blood because we have chosen to remain as spiritual orphans instead of sons and daughters of God. We must allow the Holy Spirit to have full rule and reign in our lives so that we can be set free and healed by His supernatural power. We must give ourselves completely to the Lord, withholding nothing from Him.
James 4:7-9 – Therefore submit to God. Resist the devil and he will flee from you. Draw near to God and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded. Lament and mourn and weep! Let your laughter be turned to mourning and your joy to gloom. Humble yourselves in the sight of the Lord, and He will lift you up.
I am in prayer for the people the Lord brought to my mind after reading these articles………..It helps me better understand them. Spiritual Orphans are in our Churches! They get so busy doing Religious work and spinning around they never just give their entire being to the Lord. Or it’s that brother who just hangs up on you when you bring up the greatness and healing powers of our Lord and suggest being surrounded by Godly people. Let us reflect on what we just read. Pray for those who came to mind. If you need help just email me.
Here is Pastor Paul Holt……..
Here is a question; does the morality of a nation affect its weather and its prosperity?
At first glance, such a notion would seem silly and unscientific. Consider this. If we hold to the belief that God made everything and that He causes all things to continue, I mean He literally at this moment is holding all things together, would it not be true that spiritual and moral matters are important to a God who is Spirit?
This is different than the agnostic belief of man made global warming i.e. climate change. With climate change we say that man has the ability to destroy what God created by physical processes like driving our cars or using too much hairspray.
What I am presenting is the idea that God changes the weather patterns, for good or ill, in response to our obedience or disobedience to Him. There is a biblical precedence and even a spiritual principle at work here that should not be ignored.
All of creation, including the earth, fell with man. Romans 8:22 tells us, “For we know that the whole creation groans and labors with birth pangs together until now.” It was made subject to the curse of original sin, not to be redeemed until the end of all things. As strange as it may seem, sin can make things worse in the earth while God’s grace and man’s obedience can make things better.
Complicating this baseline principle is the understanding that, like it or not, the United States of America was dedicated as a Christian nation. We have called ourselves by God’s name and that brings us under special blessings and curses.
Deuteronomy 28:1-2 “Now it shall come to pass, if you diligently obey the voice of the Lord your God, to observe carefully all His commandments which I command you today, that the Lord your God will set you high above all nations of the earth. 2 And all these blessings shall come upon you and overtake you, because you obey the voice of the Lord your God:
Please read the whole chapter to understand all that the Lord is saying.
While these words were spoken to physical Israel, there are implications for the world in general and the United States in particular. While the bible does tell us that the rain falls on both the just and the unjust, the rains timing and its affect on prosperity should not be over looked.
America has enjoyed incredible prosperity in its short history. In fact, the wealth that has been created in the world while America has existed is unprecedented. Our nation certainly has not been perfect and has not followed the Lord with its whole heart, but as a greater majority of its people have sought God and attempted to obey Him as best as they understood what that meant, God blessed America.
The last few decades have seen our country move away from being a Christian nation as a people. We are making a lot of choices that move us far from God and His ways. The Lord has been issuing warnings in many ways. Enemies have breached our security (not just on 9/11), Food is becoming more expensive, and the rains have not fallen like they should. New Mexico and the Southwest have seen more than a few years of drought while the Midwest has seen destructive rains. Hurricanes are predicted to be very active this season. Not to mention the earthquakes and other events.
The point is this. Just as our sin and self indulgence brought about a poor economic and environmental situation. So too, our return to the Lord and the humbling of our nation, and ourselves can restore our country. We should not seek our hope from the Lord not presidents or governors. I leave you with this admonition;
If My people who are called by My name will humble themselves, and pray and seek My face, and turn from their wicked ways, then I will hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin and heal their land. 2 Chronicles 7:14

June 21 2012. You are strong in the Lord whether you always feel like it or not. He is always with you because He is within you constantly being Himself. Every morning of your life He gives you joy of life to receive or not to receive. Make the choice now to greatly rejoice before Him. It will daily change your life for the better. You remember all the good things of the Lord. Who could be sad? Think of the times He has answered your prayers and requests of Him. Has He not healed? Has He not saved you? Has He not given you your heart’s desire? Meditate on these things and be glad. Spin and twirl before Him in worship from your heart.
Psalm 21:1-2 (NASB) “O LORD, in Your strength the king will be glad, and in Your salvation how greatly he will rejoice! You have given him his heart’s desire, and You have not withheld the request of his lips.” Ras Robinson

June 21, 2012. It’s hurting you to watch someone who is hurting. They don’t know you are watching and you don’t want to make it any worse by them worrying about you hurting for them. All you can do is sit back, watch and pray. You wish you could do more. Don’t minimize what you are doing. Prayer is what they need, and they also need to know that you think they are handling what they are going through with strength and dignity. Prayer will help usher in good overcoming thoughts and maintain a hedge that will ward off the enemy from attacking with bad defeating thoughts. I know you are standing in the gap.
Ezekiel 22:30 (NLT) “I looked for someone who might rebuild the wall of righteousness that guards the land. I searched for someone to stand in the gap in the wall so I wouldn’t have to destroy the land, but I found no one.” Bev Robinson

June 21, 2012. A change of heart can be challenging. I can talk of repentance, but acquiring godly sorrow can be a whole different matter. My words of “I’m sorry,” roll so easily off my tongue. In reality, talk is cheap. I’ve tried again and again to change the wickedness within myself, but I keep returning to the same old patterns. Without condemnation the Lord says, “Turn and be at peace with the change which only I can sustain. Let your sorrow be accomplished without naivety. Find My rest in the stillness of My presence. Salvation comes in many forms. Familiarize yourself with the type of sorrow only I can deliver. Trust Me.
Isaiah 30:15 (NASB) “For thus the Lord God, the Holy One of Israel, has said, “In repentance and rest you will be saved, in quietness and trust is your strength.”… 2 Corinthians 7:10 (NLT) “For the kind of sorrow God wants us to experience leads us away from sin and results in salvation. There’s no regret for that kind of sorrow. But worldly sorrow, which lacks repentance, results in spiritual death.” Kevin Robinson
Here is Doctor Joe!
At certain points in your life, it’s important to have your eyes examined by an eye care professional – even if your eyes feel fine and there doesn’t seem to be a cause for concern. Some eye diseases are virtually symptomless until you start to lose vision. So regular vision screening can help you address problems before they become major issues.
Here’s what the American Academy of Ophthalmology (AAO) recommends for each stage of life:
Baby and Toddler Time: It’s easy for vision problems to go undetected in very young children, so their eyes should be examined by a pediatrician during regular checkups. Once a child turns 3 years old, she can have her vision tested, too. And always alert the doctor if you notice any abnormalities, like droopy eyelids, crossed eyes, or a lazy eye.
Childhood and Teenage Years: Kids and teenagers between the ages of 3 and 19 should have their eyes checked by the family doctor at least once every 2 years during regular checkups.
Young Adult Era: Aim to get at least one complete eye exam between the ages of 20 and 29 and at least two complete screenings between the ages of 30 and 39.
Forty-Plus Period: All adults should get a baseline screening for eye disease by age 40, regardless of whether any symptoms or risk factors for eye problems are present. The AAO chose this age because it represents the time when age-related changes in vision and the earliest signs of eye diseases can be detected. Super important because catching and treating problems like glaucoma, cataracts, and diabetic retinopathy early can help minimize vision loss. And because the eyes can be a window into overall health, a thorough eye exam may also unearth other problems that can rear up at this age, such as diabetes and high blood pressure. How often you get follow-up screenings will depend on your test results, medical conditions, and other factors, such as your eye-health history.
Seniors and Beyond: Seniors 65 and older should have their eyes examined every 1 to 2 years to screen for common later-in-life vision problems like cataracts, glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy, and age-related macular degeneration. Regardless of when your next scheduled appointment is, always promptly see your eye doctor if you experience any eye pain or changes in your vision, see spots or flashes of light, or suffer from chronically dry or irritated eyes.
What Works Best for You?
These screening intervals won’t apply to everyone. If you’ve had any eye problems in the past, your doctor will probably want to check you more frequently. And certain risk factors for eye disease – such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or a family history of eye problems – typically mean more frequent screening as well. So work with your eye care professional to determine the screening schedule that’s right for you.And if you wear glasses or contacts, you’ll need your vision tested at regular intervals, too.
Thanks Dr. Joe!
