Dear Family of Jesus,
There is more NOTHING NOISE in the United States of America than ever before!
“He who speaks on his own does so to gain honor for himself, but he who works for the honor of the one who sent him is a man of truth; there is nothing false about him” John 7:18
Thanks for coming by for a CUP!
May this CUP Bless you and yours!
It was a Historic Day in our Country yesterday, with Obama Care getting the green light and United States of America Attorney General Eric Holder being the first Cabinet officer in our History being found in Contempt of Congress.
We are living in times of Great Historic happenings in our Country, most of them not good history.
Bible Prophecy is playing out right before our eye’s, now to me that is exciting! That is why I do what I do, Preach the Word and pray that I help other’s come to Jesus Christ.
These bad things are mostly are fault, we have allowed our Country to get to this point. As we said on the radio yesterday the Church has sat back, many Pastor’s have sat back and disengaged from society. I have not heard from ONE Pastor that the Church in America as a whole is standing strong! They all admit, as a whole, the Church has been weak. I am very thankful for the Pastor’s and Churches in America that are standing strong! AMEN!
The scripture that the Lord led me to is Hosea 4:6-7
My people are destroyed for lack of knowledge; because you the priestly nation have rejected knowledge, I will also reject you that you shall be no priest to Me; seeing you have forgotten the law of your God, I will also forget your children.
The more they increased and multiplied in prosperity and power, the more they sinned against Me; I will change their glory to shame.
That to me is the United States of America…………this is what we have allowed to happen.
My prayer continues to be that we as a Church, nation seek repentance and pray to our Lord and have Revival for HIM in this nation.
That we hunger for Him.
The message of the Bible is not to urge us to try and find the truth; IT IS TO ASK US TO LISTEN TO THE TRUTH, TO GOD’S TRUTH. For it’s whole point is to say that God, knowing himself, knowing man, knowing everything, has devised and schemed a plan whereby men and women can be delivered out of their failure and sin and can be made citizen’s and worthy citizens of God’s Kingdom, God’s plan!
Let us also remember this……..Even when it’s hard to trust, God’s promises remain the same. Nothing can change God’s intent. Keep in mind that God even sympathizes with the challenge it is for us to lean on His promises:
“He knows our frame; he remembers that we are dust” Psalm 103:14
God has not left us wondering about what’s going to happen, or uncertain about the future, or overcome fear. he makes promises to you so you can get through the long nights and difficult days of waiting.
He asks that we hang on to His assurances of determined outcomes to get through the dark times when life is hard.
We must be Salt and Light and carry out the Great Commission and occupy until He returns, that is the command we have been given.
Let us refill the CUP………..
While most men will die with deep regrets, others will resolve to live for what matters most.
This quote comes from the book, The Resolution for Men, from the creators of the movies Fireproof and Courageous.
I have had a bit of a struggle since all the kid’s have left Albuquerque and are off going at life.
I have prayed that I have imparted what wisdom I have into their lives.
One of the things we try to do here at the CUP, the Radio Ranch and our TV program, is offer Biblical solutions to challenges. We don’t want to complain. We want to bring solutions to the table.
We can change this world by starting at home. Dad always taught me to clean up by own back yard first!!! LOL! LOL!
By being better Husbands and Dad’s we can help turn this Country back to God.
My Dear friend, Dr. Steve Hopkins was talking about the impact that Coach John Wooden has had on his life. Coach Wooden is one of the greatest Coaches ever in College Basketball, if not the greatest, but also one of the most Godly men to walk this earth.
I am reading about the life of Coach John Wooden and the 7 Principles his Dad taught him and his brothers.
To me these are the words every Father would love to have said about them: John Wooden said this about his Dad,” Dad was the best man I ever knew, the one who set the course that guided me through life—-what I believe, what I do, and how I do it. In so many ways he made everything happen. And he did it by teaching us in word and deed that the simplest virtues and values were the most important ones.”
What do your Kid’s say about you?
Coach Wooden’s father taught him and his brothers a love of literature and poetry, a love of the Bible and prayer, a love of nature and animals, a love of ethics and character, and a simple love of one’s fellow human beings.
Coach Wooden said this, “My father used the immediate to prepare us for the future, that’s what effective teachers do, they recognize where you are, and utilize their own knowledge to prepare you for what lies ahead. I don’t think it’s any coincidence that all four of us boys ended up becoming classroom teachers.”
When John Wooden’s Dad gave him the seven principles that the Coach followed all his life and passed on to countless others, it is living proof that we never know when something we say might spark a flame in someone’s soul.
I have posted them before, but here are the 7 principles that Coach Wooden’s father gave him……..
1. be true to yourself
2. help others
3. make each day your masterpiece
4. Drink deeply from good books, especially the Bible
5. Make friendship a fine art
6. Build a shelter against a rainy day and by the life you live
7. Pray for guidance and counsel, and give thanks for your blessings each day.
From 1966 to 1969 Coach Wooden’s UCLA Bruins were anchored by seven-foot-two-inch African-American Lew Alcindor, later known as Kareem Abdul-Jabbar. Once during a road trip at a restaurant as Alcindor sat next to Coach Wooden looking over the menu, he heard someone whisper a few tables away, “Look at that black freak!!!”
Coach Wooden saw his star player, all seven-foot-two-inch of him cry……..after hearing those words….
“Lewis, said Coach Wooden, “people hate what they don’t know—-and what they are afraid of. But don’t ever stop being yourself.”
That is very powerful….People hate what they don’t know……..explains a lot. And what they are afraid of.
Alcindor never forgot that advice. Be yourself.
The first life principle that John Wooden’s Dad gave him was: Be true to yourself.
The Coach said this, “I believe it is the first point in Dad’s creed for a reason. You must know who you are and be true to who you are if you are going to be who you can and should become, you must have the courage to be true to be true to yourself.”
What does it mean to be true to yourself?
This is not a command to be selfish or self-absorbed. It’s a command to be faithful to your highest self, to Biblical values, your honor, your integrity as you become Christ like, the reputation of a Godly man. Refusing to compromise your Christian faith. Never betraying God, your wife and children. Be faithful to your commitments to be a person of character, courage, commitment, devotion, perseverance, and diligence. If you remain true to be the best that is within you, you will never be false or disloyal to any other person.
King Solomon gave a set of bullet point guidelines to his son in order to improve the young man’s character and his chances of surviving the risks and temptations of a hostile world……Proverbs 7 1-5
My son, keep my words; lay up within you my commandments for use when needed and treasure them.
Keep my commandments and live, and keep my law and teaching as the apple of your eye. Bind them on your fingers; write them on the tablet of your heart. Say to skillful and godly Wisdom, You are my sister, and regard understanding or insight as your intimate friend—that they will keep you from the adulteress, from the wayward wife with her seductive words.
Here we see an emotional need that all Dad’s seem to share: the need to impart wisdom to their sons before sending them out in the world; the need to impress upon their sons and daughters the Godly wisdom and knowledge they themselves have acquired at a high price in the school of hard knocks!!!
Every Father, worth his salt, does all he can do for his sons and daughters but wishes he could do more! AMEN! AMEN!
If we can impart Godly Wisdom and set a Godly example for our Children we can help bring this Country back to God…….as My Dad used to say, “It all starts at home.”
This way our testimony is handed down to our Children and their Children and everyone their lives touch! AMEN! That is how we turn this Country around to God! AMEN!

June 29, 2012. Our fireplace is such a blessing in the winters. Today I removed huge amounts of ashes from that fireplace, making ready for Bev to decorate inside the fireplace for summer. On the news, I saw where TSA authorities at an airport stopped a young passenger and confiscated a small container of his grandfather’s ashes, plundering through them and spilling them on the floor. The boy was appalled. There is the metaphoric saying, ashes to ashes and dust to dust from early Anglican funerals denoting the simple finality of death. That boy’s grandfather was memorialized by those ashes. I thought of my family, friends and people of our ministry who have gone before. Ashes to ashes and dust to dust. Glory to God for a life well lived and remembered.

June 29, 2012. I have kept a journal much of my life, writing in it almost daily. When I look back over what I have written it is amazing that the things which were once such looming problems are problems no more. “The challenge before you now is great, but remember how I have led you in the past. Trust Me fully. Keep your mind in the realm of knowing that I will answer. When it drifts draw it back to Me. I will show you what to do when you keep trusting in Me and following My lead. Some things require action and others all the action you need to take is prayer. Follow Me.
Proverbs 3:5-8 (MSG) “Trust God from the bottom of your heart; don’t try to figure out everything on your own. Listen for God’s voice in everything you do, everywhere you go; he’s the one who will keep you on track. Don’t assume that you know it all. Run to God! Run from evil! Your body will glow with health, your very bones will vibrate with life!” Bev Robinson

June 29, 2012. Never forget where your help comes from! When you feel you are all alone, never forget where your help comes from! When you have come to the point of utter despair and feel your whole world has caved in, never forget where your help comes from! When you are down to your last cent and see no provision in sight, never forget where your help comes from! When sickness and infirmity keep knocking at your door and on the door of your loved ones, never forget where your help comes from! When the smallest of everyday affairs continue to overwhelm your understanding, never forget where your help comes from!
Psalm 121:1-2 (NIV) “I lift up my eyes to the mountains-where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth.” Kevin Robinson
Here is Doctor Joe……….
Is High Cholesterol a Hoax? You Decide…
“We have one and a half million heart attacks in the U.S. each year. About 50 percent have normal cholesterol. Clearly, current guidelines are not adequate to identify all those individuals who are at increased risk,” Nader Rifai, MD (2004)
Statistically speaking, cholesterol levels have zero relevance in determining heart attack risk. A 50-50 chance, after all, means a coin flips worth of certainty. But that’s not all: people with the highest cholesterol may also live the longest…
Consider the finding of Dr. Harlan Krumholz of the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine at Yale University, who reported in 1994 that elderly with low cholesterol died twice as often from a heart attack as did the elderly with high cholesterol. His research also showed that people with higher cholesterol lived longer than those with lower cholesterol.
Cholesterol has long been blamed for the epidemic of heart disease in this country, despite hundreds of peer reviewed studies indicating that – to the contrary – low cholesterol levels may increase the risk of dying from infection, stroke, cancer, and yes, even heart attack itself. Consider the fact that there are scientific organizations composed of concerned scientists and physicians whose sole purpose is to point out inaccuracies of the cholesterol theory of heart disease.
The Term “Bad Cholesterol” is a Myth
Let’s begin by acknowledging that cholesterol is an essential substance produced by nearly every cell of our body, and the building block for the cell wall, bile salts, vitamin D, steroid hormones, the myelin sheath of the nerves, and 30% of our brain tissue. LDL or so-called “bad cholesterol,” transports antioxidants throughout the body and helps fight bacterial infection. How can something that has so many important functions be so bad for you?
High Cholesterol is Not a Disease
It is unscientific to call high cholesterol a disease. Elevations in cholesterol are often times normal reactions to events in the environment. Cholesterol production is extremely variable and depends on many factors. Take into consideration the following: When we have allergy flare ups during the Spring or Fall, our cholesterol can increase to help support immune function. Catching cold or the flu can cause temporary elevations in cholesterol. Contrary to popular belief, diets high in processed grains can cause elevations in cholesterol. And to top it off, medications prescribed for the following conditions elevate cholesterol: high blood pressure, hormone contraceptives, asthma, chronic pain, and acne.
Why have we been fixated on cholesterol as the enemy for all these years?
The answer to that question has to do with the sad fact that the National Cholesterol Education Program (NCEP) guidelines were written under tremendous bias. Of the nine members who wrote the guidelines, 8 had direct financial ties to the pharmaceutical companies that profit from the sale of cholesterol lowering medications. Additionally, the research used to base the NCEP guidelines was paid for by the pharmaceutical industry.
Treating Symptoms Doesn’t Work
Despite medical intervention, there are more than 80 million cases of cardiovascular disease (CVD) in the U.S. Cholesterol lowering medications cost U.S. taxpayers more than 10 billion annually. If treating cholesterol with medicine was the answer, why do so many still suffer from CVD? Why does it still kill a million people every year?
What about the side effects of cholesterol lowering medications? Congestive heart failure, high blood pressure, muscle pain and weakness, fatigue, and nerve damage are some of the possibilities. What happened to the Hippocratic Oath – “First, do no harm”?
Heart disease is not caused by a lack of medication. Research and common sense continue to show that the best treatment lies with prevention. Cultures that do not consume processed refined foods have extremely low to no incidence of CVD. Diet and lifestyle play a much greater role than do genetics as we did not inherit heart disease from our ancestors. It is foolish to diminish the role that they play in health and wellness.
The bottom line – people are becoming more and more skeptical about the massive use of pharmaceuticals to treat disease. They are looking to find the contributing factors and causes of their ailments, not to treat the symptoms.
“The Doctor of the future will give no medicine but will interest his patients in the care of the human frame, in diet and in the cause and prevention of disease.” – Thomas Edison
Monday, July 2, we’ll explore “What You Should Know about Cholesterol before Taking Medication”.
Have a blessed and safe weekend!
Thanks Doc!
