After David had finished talking with Saul, he met Jonathan, the king’s son. There was an immediate bond between them, for Jonathan loved David. From that day on Saul kept David with him and wouldn’t let him return home. And Jonathan made a solemn pact with David, because he loved him as he loved himself. (NLT)

The heartfelt counsel of a friend is as sweet as perfume and incense. (NLT)
Friends Shape and Sharpen One Another
Proverbs 27:17
As iron sharpens iron, so a friend sharpens a friend. (NLT)
True Friends Strengthen and Help Each Other
Ecclesiastes 4:9–12
Two people are better off than one, for they can help each other succeed. If one person falls, the other can reach out and help. But someone who falls alone is in real trouble. Likewise, two people lying close together can keep each other warm. But how can one be warm alone? A person standing alone can be attacked and defeated, but two can stand back-to-back and conquer. Three are even better, for a triple-braided cord is not easily broken. (NLT)
Friendship is Marked by Sacrifice
John 15:13–15
There is no greater love than to lay down one’s life for one’s friends. You are my friends if you do what I command. I no longer call you slaves, because a master doesn’t confide in his slaves. Now you are my friends, since I have told you everything the Father told me. (NLT)

Such wicked people are detestable to the LORD, but he offers his friendship to the godly. (NLT)

For since our friendship with God was restored by the death of his Son while we were still his enemies, we will certainly be saved through the life of his Son. (NLT)
Friendship with the World Makes You an Enemy of God
James 4:4
You adulterers! Don’t you realize that friendship with the world makes you an enemy of God? I say it again: If you want to be a friend of the world, you make yourself an enemy of God. (NLT)

Right now let us pray for all our Friends…………
Let us also pray for those who are seeking friends, saying thy have no friends……
Lord we thank YOU for our friends….we thank YOU for these Godly relationships…..we thank YOU Lord that we can talk so honestly with our friends without being judged……that we can trust them with anything. I pray also that we reach out to others that might not have a friend or many at all. I pray we all read in Your Word about being friends. Today Lord I am reading the story of a young man here in Albuquerque whose car caught on fire on the busy interstate and the interstate was full of cars…….but only one man stopped by to help this man in his burning car………let us show your love to all……In the name of Jesus Christ, AMEN!
I thank you all for being a Friend to me and Sharon and the kids and doggies! Love the picture of Charlie Brown and Snoopy!
Pastor Brenton Franks had this posted about Friends……..
old friend running (more like laboring to jog) up the street. He thought it peculiar but shrugged it off. The next day he saw the same thing…his friend slowly running up the street. The third day he couldn’t believe his eyes. His 75 year old friend was skipping like a school boy up the street. He couldn’t take it and went out to ask his friend what he was doing. Out of breath, the old fellow replied, “It’s this new medicine my doctor gave me. The instructions say ‘Take two days running then skip a day!’”
LOL! LOL! LOL!
Here is a note from our Friend Alan Autry……..
Hey Dewey! Thank you for all that you do and keep doing for the Kingdom. Been working hard on getting the financing for a slate of Faith based films. When it gets in place it would be an honor to announce it first on your show. Thank you again for your constant love and prayers. Your pal always, Alan We are praying for you Alan! This is from Darlene Quiring......we have posted this a few times over the years.. It's one of my favorites! It is a shame but this message is very true. Hope you are all as blessed as I was by this story. There once was a man named George Thomas, preacher in a small Texas town.
One Sunday morning he came to the Church building carrying a rusty, bent, old bird cage, and set it by the pulpit. Eyebrows were raised and, as if in response, the Preacher began to speak. . . .
I was walking through town yesterday when I saw a young boy coming toward me swinging this bird cage. On the bottom of the cage were three little wild birds, shivering with cold and fright.
I stopped the lad and asked, “What do you have there, son?” “Just some old birds,” came the reply.”What are you going to do with them?” I asked.
“Take ’em home and have fun with ’em,” he answered. “I’m gonna tease ’em and pull out their feathers to make ’em fight. I’m gonna have a real good time.”
But you’ll get tired of those birds sooner or later. What will you do then?”
“Oh, I got some cats,” said the little boy. “They like birds. I’ll take ’em to them.”
The preacher was silent for a moment. “How much do you want for those birds, son?” “Huh?? !!! Why, you don’t want them birds, mister. They’re just plain old
field birds. They don’t sing. They ain’t even pretty!””How much?” the preacher asked again. The boy sized up the preacher as if he were crazy and said, “$10?”
The preacher reached in his pocket and took out a ten dollar bill. He placed it in
the boy’s hand. In a flash, the boy was gone. The preacher picked up the cage and gently carried it to the end of the alley where there was a tree and a grassy spot.
Setting the cage down, he opened the door, and by softly tapping the bars persuaded the birds out, setting them free. Well, that explained the empty bird cage on the pulpit, and then the preacher began to tell this story:
One day Satan and Jesus were having a conversation. Satan had just come
from the Garden of Eden, and he was gloating and boasting. “Yes, sir, I just caught a world full of people down there. Set me a trap, used bait I knew they couldn’t resist. Got ’em all!”
What are you going to do with them?” Jesus asked.
Satan replied, “Oh, I’m gonna have fun! I’m gonna teach them how to marry and divorce each other, how to hate and abuse each other, how to drink and smoke and
curse. I’m gonna teach them how to invent guns and bombs and kill each other. I’m really gonna have fun!”
“And what will you do when you are done with them?” Jesus asked.. “Oh, I’ll kill ’em,” Satan glared proudly.
“How much do you want for them?” Jesus asked.
“Oh, you don’t want those people. They ain’t no good. Why, you’ll take them and they’ll just hate you. They’ll spit on you, curse you and kill you.You don’t want those people!!”
“How much? He asked again.
Satan looked at Jesus and sneered, “All your blood, tears and your life.”
Jesus said, “DONE!” Then He paid the price.
The preacher picked up the cage and walked from the pulpit.
I thank God everyday for my blessed life. I’m not rich, don’t live in a mansion and don’t have the nicest of material things, but, I have a roof over my head, clothes on my back, food on my table and lifelong friends, to get me through. I’d say I have a lot to be thankful for.
Robin White sent this in...This is excellent written by Rose Shepherd.......... Before you connect yourself to someone or commit to anything in your life, value yourself and God's purpose & plan for you enough to look at the 5 things listed below. Your time and talent are valuable. 1. Look at the fruits of what follows that person and ask yourself where will they be leading you. Keep in mind NOT all open doors are from God. 2. Take a hard look at your future and ask yourself if they would help you find your purpose or delete/distract from what God may have for you. 3. Ask yourself "would I be growing in my walk with Christ by walking out life with this person or project? will my time and talent invested become a blessing to anyone other than myself?" 4. Before you walk away from where you are for a new venture PRAY HARD and count the cost of what you're leaving behind or giving up. When the beginning excitement phase is over is this something or someone that you would want to stay connected to when challenges arise? 5. Last... don't allow desperation to make a move to quickly... pray, seek wise counsel from those you trust. Then wait at least 30 days and see what God reveals before you invest your time and talent in anyone or anything. Proverbs 4:26–27 Mark out a straight path for your feet; stay on the safe path. Don’t get sidetracked; keep your feet from following evil.

Thank you for all you do to impact the children God has given us in the Philippines. May God bless you richly in return.
August 10, 2012. Imagine thinking like Jesus during your hard times. Imagine having such a change of mind that you enter into a hot pursuit of God and His will for the rest of your days instead of what you want. In so doing, you would become part of the new breed God is spawning for the move of God in revival and restoration as promised in Acts 3:19-21“Therefore repent and return, so that your sins may be wiped away, in order that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord; and that He may send Jesus, the Christ appointed for you, whom heaven must receive until the period of restoration of all things about which God spoke by the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.” Lean into your imagination and believe.
1 Peter 4:1-2 (MSG) “Since Jesus went through everything you’re going through and more, learn to think like him. Think of your sufferings as a weaning from that old sinful habit of always expecting to get your own way. Then you’ll be able to live out your days free to pursue what God wants instead of being tyrannized by what you want.” Ras Robinson

August 10, 2012. There have been some obstacles to your faith that have come lately. I know this has been a hard time. More than one thing has happened that has caused you stress. It feels like the bottom of the stress bucket has been unloaded on your head. Shake this stuff off. You can shake it all off on Me. Most of it you can’t do anything about except to pray. You’ve wondered recently if prayer works. Yes it does. Prayer is powerful. Pray, then trust Me and My will. Remain thankful that I will do what is best. Ask Me for wisdom about what to do. Do it…then leave it alone.
Philippians 4:6-7 (MSG) “Don’t fret or worry. Instead of worrying, pray. Let petitions and praises shape your worries into prayers, letting God know your concerns. Before you know it, a sense of God’s wholeness, everything coming together for good, will come and settle you down. It’s wonderful what happens when Christ displaces worry at the center of your life.” Bev Robinson

August 10, 2012. Within you have I have put a strong desire to be loved and accepted for who you are, not for what you do. Know this My child, My love for you is unconditional. My tenderness, care and affection are yours to receive. Accept who I have made you to be. Know that you are perfect and complete, lacking in nothing through the blood of My Son. Your search for significance is found in Me. You’ve heard Me call your name in a quiet place, wondering who said your name? You are not hearing voices, you’re hearing Me! Come to Me. You are worthy to receive My love. Let Me love you.
1 Corinthians 8:3 (AMP) “But if one loves God truly [ with affectionate
reverence, prompt obedience, and grateful recognition of His blessing], he is known by God [ recognized as worthy of His intimacy and love, and
he is owned by Him].” Kevin Robinson
Here’s Doctor Joe……..
When you’re working to control your weight, here’s the classic formula for success: Eat less, move more.
But, if exercising tends to make you hungry, this may feel like a bit of a Catch-22. You’re watching what you eat. But, you also need food for energy — and to get the most out of your workouts.
So, how can you make your eating and exercise efforts work well together?
Here are seven simple strategies for you to fuel up wisely — for weight control, nutrition and fitness:
1. Think the “big picture”. Your overall diet is the most important. Focus on eating a variety of healthful foods each day. This is the best way to make sure your body has all the nutrients it needs to be strong and active.
2. Choose premium fuel. Most nutritious foods — such as fruit, veggies, whole grains and low-fat dairy products — are also relatively low in calories. So, you get the most nutritional bang for your buck.
3. Count on quality carbs. Carbohydrates are the body’s preferred fuel. And, your body stores some of this nutrient as glycogen — a kind of energy reserve for exercise.
Some folks think of carbs as just starchy, refined breads and pastas. But, you can get more healthful carbs from natural sources, including:
– Whole grains, such as oatmeal, brown rice, and whole-grain breads, pastas and cereals
– Fruits, such as oranges, bananas, melon and apples
– Veggies, such as carrots, beets, broccoli and sweet potatoes
4. Grab a power bite. If you regularly eat with nutrition in mind, you’ll likely have all the energy you need. But, before especially long workouts, a snack or small meal can help keep you from running on empty.
If you have three or four hours beforehand, go for a carb-based meal that includes a little protein. Some pre-workout ideas:
– Ezekiel bread toast and almond butter
– Turkey sandwich on Ezekiel bread — and an orange
– A fruit smoothie made with fat-free or Greek low-fat yogurt — and topped with low-fat granola
– Whole-grain cereal with almond or rice milk
Within an hour of a tough workout or a brisk walk, you can also give yourself a mini boost with an apple, a banana or other fruit.
5. Recover, replenish, restore. After a lengthy and challenging workout, a carb-protein snack combo — such as those above — can also help refuel and repair tired muscles.
6. Don’t give yourself a free pass. It’s great to be more active. But, don’t reward your efforts with overeating or sugary treats. Celebrate your fitness success with calorie-free treats, such as a soak in the tub or a favorite magazine or movie.
7. Water your workouts. Be sure to drink water before, during and after exercise.
Know what’s right for you – don’t compare yourself with others fitness or nutritional levels. Talk with your health care provider or a nutritionist if you have questions about your calorie needs — or what’s a healthy weight for you.
Have a safe and blessed weekend…stay hydrated, be active, and take your Fish Oil capsules.
God Bless you Doctor Joe!
