Dear Church,

Good morning to all Dewey’s Daily Cup Readers! Do you know the Shepherd? Let’s take a look at what the Lord has on my heart to share Today … and know that I hope all is well with you in your day and if it is troubled, I pray for God’s loving comfort to envelop and cradle you by the power in His grace!

The Lord has blessed us with a brand new day! Open with the Lord’s prayer and quietly meditate on God’s Word and fill your ear with music that sings praise from your soul to our Father in Heaven, who lives in us and that is not that far away ♥ God bless you in your day! We love you Lord! ♥
It is a good day to enjoy Today; and Lord willing we will wake up to another day … yet, this is the day that God calls Today; and Today has arrived! Never take Today for granted…For tomorrow may begin eternity!

Let us [open our minds and soften our heart] for God’s Word to speak to us [as THE CHURCH] Today!

I believe that God is bringing the churches together! Revival is on my mind like this: In a revival, God moves in the church and community & accelerates and intensifies the presence of God that we can’t escape the expanded capabilities of God’s presence in a revival of the Holy Spirit where the churches join together in Unity as THE CHURCH of ONE God and remade and equipped through God’s Risen Son, the Holy Spirit; as gift from God sent to us for simply believing and placing our faith in Jesus who is the Christ the Son of the living God as the High Priest of God’s Church! A Revival of The Church, where sinners actively are coming to church because of what God is doing! God has done it before and can do it again! ♥ HTTLOG! To God be the glory alone! Solo Deo gloria!

I am excited to see what God is doing!

Woke up thinking about an old owl fad ~ Do you remember that old Home Interior owl? My mom had them hanging on our home’s wall and when I got married, so did we! Still today, I can see those old owls hanging in my mom’s garage! This morning, when I think of these owls, they remind me that I am not wise in my own eyes! In addition, the Lord has on my mind that this is the same in church. We can remember that none of us are wise in our own eyes, but only wise through our mind set on Christ, whom is our Wisdom sent to us from God; and now available to us in all things, through the power of God who lives in us … the Holy Spirit!
However, if we have some Wisdom from Christ, then we need to hold on to that piece of Wisdom until the Spirit tells us when and where to share this new found knowledge and freedom in Christ, because it is all about the Holy Spirit doing the work; and that means that we have to stay in step with the Spirit! Ever noticed how exciting it is to comprehend a message from God that fits directly in your life? I have and in an early Christian, we can want to share this revelation knowledge with everyone we meet … thinking that we have THE answer and can save the world! However, as we mature in Christ, we can understand that it is the Holy Spirit who brings us our understanding and Wisdom from Heaven and it is the Holy Spirit who leads us when and where to share!

Division happens when we get ahead or behind God wise in our own eyes based on the freedom in Christ we have discovered and applied to our life! In other words, if we speak on our own, we waste our breath and even drive others away, BUT when we speak with the anointing, then God moves in and grows that seed that He purposed us to plant! God calls us to perfect Unity in Christ alone! Sometimes, we just have to be a blessing and shut up; as God so poetically showed me recently! J
Instead of being driven to be right in our opinion, we should be committed to seek the truth from God because we can! Instead of judging what we don’t understand or agree with, we should be committed to leave the judging to God and pray for what we don’t understand. God may say speak; or He may say be still … but our steps should be firmly planting on the Word of God in our own life and at peace; as far as it depends on me! We don’t change anyone’s mind; the Holy Spirit convicts us to know the truth! Our job is simply to love and pray … and follow Jesus with our eyes set on HIM with the power of God with us…not behind or ahead, but remaining in step with God!

On my heart, is to share a vision that I have written in The Train Whistle:
I can see now why Satan tried to keep me out of Church (pages 204 -210)

“Recently, I had a dream that I was riding a magnificent horse. My legs were strong, and I was capable of maneuvering on the horse in amazing and seemingly impossible ways. At one point I was riding full speed with my bare feet balancing on the front shoulders/chest of the horse while face-to-face. It was so amazing, but then I wondered how I was going to get off the horse and thought about jumping off to my right, but the horse was at one with my mind and turned in that direction as with my thoughts, and I avoided getting hurt from jumping off at this fast speed. Immediately, I looked into the face of this horse in my dream again, and it slowed and stopped again as it was somehow at one with me. I remember waking and saying to my mom that I just had the most beautiful dream, but if I had known that the horse would follow my thoughts, I would have rode longer, and I smiled. It was a beautiful dream that I believe was more than just a dream, but a vision from God, because of the impact that the dream had on me. At first I thought that it represented the freedom and joy of heaven, but Reverend Alston helped me understand that the dream meant that God was with me through a very difficult time. I believe this interpretation because I experienced God with me like this the entire week and beyond. Just days later, while shopping late night for some essentials after returning home from mom’s successful surgery, facing me was a book with a picture of this exact horse that was in my dream, and it was about riding with God—I bought the book!

I believe this is where division and Unity begins with God; God gives us Revelation knowledge about His Word through the Holy Spirit for our own personal growth and ministry, because we need understanding to apply God’s Word to our life; and also we need each other, because of God’s Holy Divine plan and purpose! We each have been gifted with a talent from God that works perfectly in The Church of God because God has accomplished His plan by giving us purpose to serve and bring others to God’s saving Grace!

I have lived and experienced the freedom that Christ brings me through Revelation knowledge and when I experience anything good, it is my nature to want to share with others, so that they too will have what I have found! However, I have learned that we are not able to accept the Freedom Wisdom from God until the Holy Spirit reveals to us this Truth! So “Be Still and know that God is God” comes to my mind and sometimes; God is not being rude, but sometimes, it is just our job to “be a blessing and shut up” and allow God to do His work!

Think about how we feel and how another feels…when we share and feel rejected…or when we share and offend another because they think that we think we know it all. This is emotional religion in practice. We need to learn the art of listening, which requires us to shut up and this is the hardest spiritual gift to master!

We need to learn to wait on God before we speak! We need to learn to hold our tongue and listen to others when we disagree. We need to learn to overlook our judging ability because we have knowledge of God’s word of right and wrong and pray for God to give us the words and the strength to stay in step with the Spirit, which is our strength to harness our emotions.

What is the church to you? “The Church is the Body of Christ that extends far beyond our comprehension, unless we have knowledge of the creation and God’s plan of Salvation through Jesus Christ our Lord! Just as you can see the same moon from anywhere in this world, we can unite in Christ for the same common cause; the gospel of Jesus Christ, our risen Lord! The church was created for a purpose of unity and togetherness with God through Jesus Christ.

Satan has created something too…diversion, turmoil, confusion, animosity, and through temptation, satan has enticed [and unleashed
if we Sercombe to our emotions and React to temptation] our selfish ambition that is a part of who we are made to be, but we have a choice in how we use our gift of individually knowing that we are blessed by God like this. We can build The Church or we can tear it down…by our choice in the Wisdom that we follow (see James 3:13-18).
For once, we had no knowledge of good and evil, we only experienced good, but good required no knowledge; it was just life existing with God! Now that evil has been accepted and approved in this world by the acceptance of temptation (sin), we need our knowledge of good to overcome and succeed for our common purpose in Christ to bring glory to God in Heaven up above!

We all can’t be Wrong, What if we took all our ‘rights’ [not
our right or freedom to an opinion, but our ‘rights’ according to God’s Holy
Word] and worked Together as a huge team for the cause of Christ [the
gospel; according to the gospel] instead of pointing our fingers at the things that we do wrong, don’t agree with…including those things that God’s has given us revelation knowledge [personal freedom in Christ] about?

This scripture begins … “We know that “We all possess knowledge.” But knowledge puffs up while love builds up. 2 Those who think they know something do not yet know as they ought to know….

What if we all worked in our positions as “Co-Labors” for Christ remaining on the same team under God?

Would you quit a football team, just because of a different style of throwing the ball or catching the ball? Would you quit a basketball team just because you had a different step to your run? And yet, we overlook monstrous flaws of sports players and continue to root for the entire team!
Why? Because of what that team represents to you and what a win would personally mean to you! Think about and write a list of why you support any team and then equate that list with your relationship with Jesus Christ … and then also equate that list to fellow Christians [THE CHURCH] which is under God to bring glory to God in the highest! Solo Deo Gloria!!!

Many are trying to come to God; and are seeking in so many different ways, but when they look at Christians, it seems the Church is so divided by religion!
Our basic theme needs to be the Bible!
In fact the Bible has been so divided over the years and altered to fit many different customs or religions, but as a Christian, we are the only ones who have the power of the Holy Spirit for discernment of God’s power in the Truth! Think on this and apply this message to your Christian walk as the Holy Spirit leads you. I am only hear to encourage our faith and unity as the Church with a capitol C where Christ is the head and we are the body and we each have a function that works well when we work together in step with the spirit!

We have no to little power separated from the Spirit in our emotional religious speeches or words, but when God tells us to speak we are anointed by the power of the Holy Spirit!

The Church is weaker for God when we separate and segregated! In a marriage, there are many forms of communication and when a man and woman can reach a spiritual ability to communicate, the strength is much stronger in that marriage!

As in the church…individually we are each equipped by the strength and power of the Holy Spirit; joined together, I can’t imagine the power that God would unleash … like a house that is wired and when it is finally plugged up in unity to the main power source…the whole neighborhood will light up from one common source!

Individually, we see Revelation pieces to a puzzle….Together, we can join our pieces and see the entire puzzle revealing a picture and of the power of one great God in understanding, because the picture is more clearly seen to understand and then we can serve as the family of God pulling together for one common cause, Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior to bring glory to God alone is a beautiful and powerful thought to me!

Regardless of your belief, there is a division in the Church because of opinions and not all are wrong, but the judging is God’s …it comes down to ‘as far as it depends on me’, I will choose to put God first in my life and follow His Son and serve by the anointing of the Holy Spirit alone!

I hope this was a blessing to you! Lord Jesus we pray for your blood to cover our churches and for the anointing from you alone to rain over and flow in us so that we may serve you well and bring many to God’s saving Grace , so that a sinner can believe in our Father, who is our God with amazing love and grace!

Revelation knowledge: Don’t worry about yesterday, Shed guilt & simply repent and learn from your mistakes; don’t fret about tomorrow, God’s got that covered! Today is a good day to enjoy a brand New day that God has called Today!

Women are just as vulnerable to heart disease as men. The good news is there’s a lot you can do to lower your risk. Only about 25% of heart disease risk is genetic, so you have more control than you might think. Here are eight heart-healthy habits to help you avoid the clogs, clots, and other snafus that can jam a woman’s heart.

Limit Red and Processed Meat
People who eat 4 ounces of “regular” red meat a day (that’s an average burger) up their risk of fatal heart disease by almost 30% compared to those who eat only 5 ounces a week. The same goes for processed meats (hot dogs, sausage, and bacon), which aren’t any good for you, according to a major study from the National Cancer Institute. In addition to raising your risk of heart disease, high cholesterol, and diabetes, a diet too high in red meat may also increase your risk of colon cancer. The exception is grass fed no-hormone beef.

Heart-Healthy Tip: Throw a giant portobello mushroom (instead of red meat) on the grill and serve yourself a yummy portobello burger. In studies, portobello mushrooms have been rated as satisfying and as tasty as beef.

Drink Alcohol in Moderation
Research shows that having one drink a day may help protect your heart and your entire vascular system. Enjoying a moderate amount of alcohol also seems to raise levels of HDL (good) cholesterol. In addition, it relaxes you, which can only help your blood pressure. Although wine itself doesn’t contain omega-3 fatty acids, research suggests that a bit of wine – not too much, not too little – somehow boosts blood levels of these heart-healthy fatty acids.

Heart-Healthy Tip: Moderate drinking for women means no more than one drink per day. That translates into a 12-ounce beer, 1.5 ounces of 80-proof liquor, or a 5-ounce glass of wine. Next time you pour a glass of wine, get out your kitchen measuring cup. You might be surprised to see what 5 ounces looks like!

Take a Vacation from Stress
Taking regular time off can cut your heart attack risk by almost a third. Yet, according to an Expedia.com survey, Americans ditch an estimated 465 million vacation days a year, which cranks up the rate at which their bodies age. How? Over-commitment leads to chronic stress, and too much stress puts you on the fast track to heart disease. Whatever your excuse for not taking a break (too little time, money, or energy), it isn’t worth the consequences.

Heart-Healthy Tip: Do this to get that blissed-out vacation feeling any time: Close your eyes, focus your attention on your heart, and take slow breaths in and out. After a few breaths, imagine something that puts you at ease – a pet, a child, flowers, or a sandy beach. Hold that image and keep breathing in and out. Do this once a day for 10 minutes. Your heart will love it, and so will you. Seek solitude with the Lord, talk to and listen to Him.

Maintain a Positive Attitude
If you constantly complain or secretly enjoy throwing pity parties for yourself more than once in a blue moon, know that an ongoing gloomy attitude triples your risk of a heart attack, a bypass, and even clogged leg arteries. On the other hand, a positive attitude improves your quality of life and helps you stay well.

Heart-Healthy Tip: Work on cultivating your inner optimist. Lose yourself in uplifting experiences and do things you love, whether it’s spending time with your family, scrapbooking, gardening, or pursuing a goal. If negative, sad, or hopeless feelings persist, talk to your doctor. Many women suffer from mood disorders, such as depression or anxiety, which can be treated.

Protect Your Heart with Exercise
Women who walk or otherwise exercise each day have fewer heart attacks and strokes, lower blood pressure, and higher levels of healthy HDL cholesterol. The benefits of being active add up fast. In as little as 90 days; doctors can actually measure the age-reducing effects of regular exercise.

Heart-Healthy Tip: When it comes to walking and heart health, speed and frequency count. Yes, strolling is better than sitting, but you get the most benefits if you pick up the pace – ideally, for 30 minutes for at least five days out of each week.

Boost Your Self-Esteem
Women often have high expectations of themselves. If they fall short, anxiety, anger, and depression often come knocking. Unfortunately, negative emotions aren’t just unpleasant. They’re bad for your heart. They fire up inflammation and damage arteries. Feeling good about your life and accomplishments, however, reduces your risk of heart disease by at least 13%.

Heart-Healthy Tip: Identify your unique skills and share them! For example, if you’re great with numbers, help a volunteer group with its bookkeeping. You’ll gain a sense of purpose and a more meaningful life – two big happiness and self-esteem boosters. Also, KNOWING who you are in Christ Jesus is the joy of the Lord.

Eat a Fiber-Rich Diet
Fiber’s heart-saving magic is a three-for-one deal: It improves cholesterol, lowers blood pressure, and reduces belly fat – all good things in terms of lowering your risk of heart disease. In a 14-year study, people who ate the most fiber (particularly from fruit and whole grains) saw their risk level drop by 18% compared to folks with minimal fiber intake. Fiber may help reduce your breast cancer risk, too.

Heart-Healthy Tip: Every now and then enjoy a bowl of steel-cut oatmeal, with almond milk with berries and walnuts for breakfast or lunch. This fruity, nutty cereal gives you two types of fiber: soluble and insoluble, both of which can keep your heart beating strong and healthy.

No trouble of mine is a burden to God!

We can learn to shed the guilt and shed the burden, as we can learn to pray for God’s Grace and Wisdom!

Good morning and this is Karen Rowe with Hope in Today | The Train Whistle, Sounding the Call of God’s Love and these are the words that the Lord has on my mind Today!

I have been known to worry! So much so that my husband has told me, “Karen you need a worry tree!” I laughed, because it was true, I do need a worry tree, but I didn’t know how to hang my worries; and I didn’t understand exactly how a worry tree would work for me! I replied to him, “Yes, but I would probably weight my worry tree down with so many burdens that I would kill it!” Funny truth since I didn’t truly understand that Jesus is my worry tree! In that moment of realization of Jesus, I realized that I could not kill Jesus; and I could not break Jesus! In fact, I could never overload Jesus, who is the Christ the Son of the Living God!

No trouble of mine is a burden to God!

God taught me to “Cast my cares on the Lord!” I would like to share what I learned with you to help you learn what has been so valuable to me in my life with God! In addition, it is on my heart to share maybe for the first time on Dewey’s Daily Cup, who Jesus is to me and how He came to me in a special way that is fitting to the title of Today’s Cup … humm maybe this will be a 2 part Cup; let’s see how the Spirit works this out!
I share my testimonies to further the gospel of Peace, Jesus Christ! We are Co-Labors for the Lord, as Dewey wrote in the Foreword for The Train Whistle [Google the Title, by Karen Rowe for Barnes

Cast your Cares on the Lord
[The Holy Spirit taught me how]:
I think I will save the length of the story for another day, but for Today, I will simply say = By submitting my thoughts to God’s will, the Holy Spirit poured God’s love into me in a powerful way! I had to learn to submit to God’s will; just as I had to learn to cast my cares on the Lord and I learned both of these powerful lessons within the same hour!

I learned through the spirit how to “Cast my cares on the Lord!” More than just a few words hinged together; learning how to cast my cares on the Lord was a life changing event in my life! I didn’t learn alone; I was taught by God!
All for the glory of God and the gospel of Peace, Jesus has forever impacted me and enabled me to say, that this is who Jesus is to me…
“He sat beside me by the campfire that night and I sensed his comfort overcome me [as I heard his quiet still voice convict me] of the truth inside, ‘It is okay. I understand; and I love you.’ I should have been on my knees in front of my Lord, but instead, I sit there humbly and in a frightened state, I said, ‘forgive me, but I am scared tonight’! This is a true story that is found on pages 30 & 257-266 of The Train Whistle if you care to read the details of this amazing experience, but the lesson to me that I want to share with you Today is that: This was Jesus sitting beside me [I felt his
physical presence from my shoulder to the bend of my knee sitting beside me on
that bench that night by the campfire]; and this is who Jesus is to me: In my weakness, He understands and loves me anyway! …and in your weakness, Smile, because Jesus loves you; and He is your strong arm!
All that Jesus is and all that He has done for me and yet, this is who Jesus remains to be … I can’t even put into words what this means … so I pray for you to experience God’s love flow into you through His Son like this … His ultimate position at the right hand of God and yet humbly still Today comes down from heaven through the spirit of God and reaches out to us! Unconditionally, He loves me (and He loves you too); Jesus understands and we have a friend in Him!”
Why would I feel a press and nudge from God to share this with you Today? Perhaps, do you need to know that this message is for you as much as it was meant for me? It was; you know! God loves you just as you are and Jesus understands and He is there for you just as you are, because you and me…we are the reason that Jesus has come for us in the first place!
Can you imagine? After all that Jesus has endured and overcome to save us; Jesus is not about to give up on us Now! Come to Jesus and just know how much God loves you! Meet Him on a friendship level and know that He is just a step away when you may think He is galaxies away! He comes to us in Spirit and these spiritual experiences are very Real, Powerful and life altering that enables your faith to trust God enough to change to become all you know that you want to be for God!

I don’t have to tell you that, because God has put that desire on your heart! Most of us I believe just have to learn how to come to God like this and cast our guilt and cares on the Lord. The learning begins when we just believe! It begins with believing and trusting, and finishes with lasting results with our faithfulness and dedication to our Lord Jesus Christ! The Holy Spirit convicted me, but I understand that these words alone will not affect you! I share my story only to show hope and offer encouragement to seek to find what the Lord has shown and taught me! Freedom [from guilt and burdens] is possible!
“But how”? Maybe, you are still asking?

Pray & seek the Lord’s thoughts [His will]; and it is God who does the work in you when you learn to submit your will to God’s will alone. Casting your cares on the Lord is all about putting God 1st in your life; above everything; trusting HIM above all; and against all odds! Seek God 1st submitted to HIS will by faith and according to His written word and strive to remain saturated in His peace!
Based on my story: Cast your Cares on the Lord and in an Instant God’s Love will literally pour into you by the power of the Holy Spirit! In an instant, my very being changed from wanting to pray angry words; to loving this person who angered me in such a shocking way! My peace returned to me when my heart changed by the power of God alone! All I did was persistently pursue peace by seeking God’s thoughts about my heart according to His will & purpose to teach me!

I tried all the ‘base line’ religious words, and applied them in my prayer…but nothing worked until I submitted my thoughts to God’s will! Once I understood that God knew what happened and he loved that woman as much as me … my job was to love and pray for her, but I did not arrive at this place of love alone! God alone in me enabled what I was not capable to overcome in my emotions alone ~
… Not by my own will power or strength, but by the grace and power of God’s love alone!

I thought my job was to pray for God to teach her a lesson so that she would not make this same mistake again … but that was my angry prayer of self-righteousness! We have to learn the power of praying submitted to God’s will, with a willing heart to change our mind and [change
our opinion of what God should do]! It is not our job to fix people; it is our job to change our self, which begins with our mind!

Pray with God; and allow the Holy Spirit to convict your heart, willing to hear the hard truth… than in fact, even though the wrong against you was wrong, it is you & me that God is calling to change [and don’t allow anyone or any situation to steal your peace … humble
yourself to God with a grateful heart]! We are only responsible for changing our self…and bad things come against us to enable us to grow. Know this: God really knows what He is doing, even when it hurts and we don’t understand! God is at work with us all, with a Bigger Picture that we can see! Jesus knew this picture, that is why he endured being treated unfair all the way to the cross, because God so loved us! So, with certainty, you can know that God is at work changing us all and that includes the person who wronged you too, but it is up the them to accept change or not!

So…It goes back to it is our job to love and pray for each other…especially if we know about God’s plan of Salvation!
We have to pray for each other in our lack of knowledge to know to do better!

I learned that I can’t pray, “God pick me!” Because God loved that woman as much as God loved me that day, but my only responsibility was to learn the lesson that God was teaching me: To cast my cares on the Lord and my purpose was simply to love and pray for the one who wronged me…

There is more to this story, but …
Do you know what I prayed for first in that instant that love filled my heart for this woman who wronged me so bad? I prayed that nothing I said to her [my wrong that I did to her in my angry words] … I prayed that she would find the freedom from judging me like I was judging her! …with a grateful heart that God’s love had changed my mind and heart! I prayed that she would not be held down in that place that I was: angry and just wanting to pray the self-righteous prayer, but rather would be filled with love and forgiveness [freedom in Christ] and know how much I loved her now! It was too late in that moment to say the words to her, I was miles down the road by then, but it was not too late for Jesus to let her know!
God is this powerful! God is this full of love! The Holy Spirit is amazing and meant to be experienced alive and working in our life, which begins from our inner being!

A trap is set on purpose by someone to capture something special. Satan sets traps baited with the things that appeal to our sinful nature. An animal would never go into a trap without something alluring in it to capture its attention. Neither do we go into traps on purpose. Childhood Obesity Tied to School Lunches

It’s no secret that portion sizes have increased over the last 60 years. The CDC just released a shocking graph showing just how much that increase has been.

Another shocker: chocolate bars today are about 1,233% larger compared to the early 1900’s. It’s no wonder why the country is suffering from an overweight and obesity epidemic- one that was unheard of only 3 decades ago.

But it’s not just the fast food sizes that have increased. School lunches have also grown in size and calories, and have decreased in nutrition.

School Lunches and Obesity


Researchers have pointed to another cause for childhood obesity, the school lunch! In fact, school lunches have gotten so bad that they’re impacting today’s obesity rates. A survey taken from 1973 to 1974 compared to a survey taken in 2003 to 2004 showed that the prevalence of obese school-aged children jumped from 4% to a disturbing 18.8%!

A recent study found that students who regularly ate school lunches were 29% more likely to be obese compared to those kids who brought their lunches from home.*

There are many factors contributing to fattening and unhealthy school lunches. This article won’t go into all the factors or politics involved, but I wanted to mention a few things. One major factor is budget. It can be challenging to come up with school lunches that are both inviting and healthy, while keeping prices low. The unfortunate result is that many schools rely on high energy, yet low nutrient value foods to fill up their students.

Other factors are the special school programs some schools offer to get more revenue. In schools where the surveys were held, there were regular “Tater-Tot days”, which is as unhealthy as it sounds. Other schools have an a la carte menu.

The Problem with a la carte


A la carte selections aren’t subject to any health guidelines which the school is required to follow, as these are not the lunches that are served “free”. Students who wish to have a la carte lunches have to pay for these, and since they’re paying customers, they’re automatically provided with more selections. Given that, the student doesn’t necessarily have to choose the healthier option.

Fortunately, there’s some light at the end of this dark tunnel. A federal law was passed late last year that is said to limit the amount of calories in every school meal. The Department of Agriculture said that they will also require programs to offer more fruits and vegetables.

Help Your Kids Have a Healthier Lunch
I don’t think we should depend on the government to provide optimal nutrition for our kids or families. There are things that we can do for ourselves, and our children, to encourage them to eat healthier.

Here are a few suggestions:

– Brown Bag Solution. Make healthy lunches at home and pack them for your kids. Obvious, but effective. If you have picky eaters, have them help. Plan out meals together, do the shopping together, and prepare the lunches together. Avoid lunch meats as they are loaded with salt and other harmful chemicals. Be organic!


– Feed them a large healthy breakfast. The right kind of breakfast can do incredible wonders in controlling obesity levels. Eat a scrambled or over easy egg (range fed eggs) or an omelet with some kind of lean meat with a small Berry Smoothie – instead of any kind of a cereal, waffles or pancakes. Avoid fruit juices as they are loaded with sugar which is the absolute last thing they need to start their day off with.


– If you’re an activist and are called to do these things then write to your local schools. Community action helps a lot to get the schools in your area serve healthier meals. Join other concerned parents and students and request healthier meals.

Faith and Hope

Turn your ear and eyes toward God! Look at nature and see God’s wonder! Awesome, this Creation that God did create and make from His own divine Wisdom and Inspiration! I marvel that God not only Created all of this we see, but that He gave us senses to appreciate His awesome Power and Glory! If you have no eyes to see, He gave you ears to hear and if you have no ears to hear, He gave you the sense of touch to experience; and if you have no nerves to comprehend then God gave you a spirit to receive your understanding of whom God is and the power that He has shown us of His nature through His mighty and wonderful Creation! If we are blessed to have sight, hearing and form of mobility, then we must use them in appreciation and praise to God for which we have been made!
Fitting for Today’s Cup is from my FB status this morning, because this is the inspiration of DDC for Today!
“Wow, so looks like I get to watch the meteor shower! LOL Got up at three to write and just about to sneak back to bed and Buster shows up as my door! Then my daughter shows up … guess I will catch a nap later today…I can’t see the stars with my eyes closed! LOL
We did in fact see some meteors! …and the moon and stars and planets! The night sounds early in the morning are precious! We talked about faith and hope as we seemed to have the only clear opening in the cloud filled sky! Then, as the clouds began to close in; we prayed silently … each to ourselves just believing that God is in control of all things [Faith and Hope]. Our heart desired to see what God’s Creation was up to and over time the sky began to clear…
This inspired our discussion about faith and hope, because, it is just like this with our time spent with God …
Without faith, our blessings are just waiting to be seen and experienced!
*We won’t hear … if we don’t sit still long enough to listen.

*We won’t see if we don’t apply our faith to get up & wait long enough expecting.
*We won’t hope to hear or see; if we don’t believe that what we hope for is possible …
We could wish, but unless we know our hope is possible, we would never show up in faith to experience what we hope for!

On the flip side ~ on my heart [just now] is to say:
Satan can’t give us anything that God has not promised us!
Sometimes we have hope, but give up waiting on God too early and jump on the wrong train heading nowhere good. Don’t be desperate for what you hope for; be desperate only to know God’s will.
Trust God for all good and righteous things; and step in peace with each step of faith that you take that not only, [agrees with God’s written word], but, also rests well … deep in your spirit [with the peace that only Jesus Christ brings to us].
Faith reaches for the Hope that we Believe is Possible! Faith shows up to see what God has in store! I am thankful that my kids inspired and encouraged me to stay up, so that I experienced the meteor shower with them; instead of just hearing their report of how amazing it was!
We can experience God living in our life!
If we want to hear from God [we
all need to hear from God, but what
matters is if we want to hear God’s opinion], then we need to be willing to get up, slow down and open God’s Word … and read to hear God’s message to us that is written for us to know. We have the opportunities; regardless if we are tired or busy, but what makes the difference [in our pursuance of God’s opinion] is how much we are willing to change simply to please God [in our desire to know God’s thoughts about our own
thoughts].
We have to be willing to seek God’s direction in order to walk in our blessings that are already set before us by following God’s Righteousness (Jesus) … [knowing that God’s opinion may differ from our mind that
is set, but submitted to the Truth that God is always Right!].

Sometimes, God’s timing requires more patience and perseverance than other times, so seeking God’s direction means remaining [committed to be still] until we are certain of God’s direction … like waiting on that next grand meteor sighting; simply knowing that God is faithful!
Don’t pray with your intelligence, based on all you know this far in your life; pray expecting more, because God already knows best in the long run!
Vital to our blessed life is that we remain committed to following Jesus according to “staying in step with the Holy Spirit” with God from our heart that moves through our footsteps firmly planted in God’s Word!

What is the hardest thing that you are going through right now?
Remember that in the midst of your trouble God is your source of help.
Look up and see this awesome beauty in this sky that God did make! We did in fact see some meteors on this morning … ever notice that the moon and stars and planets are still and easy to spot (like our happy ‘easy’ days), but to see a meteor, we have to be looking with expecting eyes. Yet, like waiting on the clouds to move, this is an example of something we know is possible … and because we look up, we can visually see the speed of the clouds and quick changes in the appearance and broadcast of the sky!
Faith is the action we take forward from our faith knowledge of knowing that all things are possible [because of our
ultimate and firm trust in whom God IS & whom God came to be for us] regardless of what we see, and unconditional of a professional forecast … whether we are talking about weather, medical, financial, service …or whatever …

“Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see (Hebrews 11:1).”

What is the hardest thing that you going through right now that you can plug your faith and hope into Jesus like this?
We know that both light & cloud cover can affect our vision of what we can or cannot see, but regardless of our vision, our hope is like the lights in the sky! Hope is there remaining quite the same (seek God’s Wisdom). Come to think of it ~ so is the sun! The position is there, but the seasonal and hourly warmth is affected by our closeness in our proximity to the position that is constant, regardless of the variables that are changing …
Think of the things in your life that are changing or changeable that affects your position with God … It boils down to a relationship with Jesus Christ and this relationship is only altered from those things we choose to place between us and our relationship with Jesus Christ; as Jesus is first our savior to be received and then also our Lord to be Accepted.
We have our knowledge of life application for our relationship with God through His Son and with agreement of the Spirit, but we have to believe, hope and apply our faith to receive all that God offers us.
So obviously, we are discussing LIFE … eternal life, life to the full and this includes experiencing blessings with praise to God!
Life, as with meteors, requires patience! And the only guarantee of seeing a meteor is hope! If we have hope that seeing a meteor is possible and we have a desire to see a meteor, then because we believe it is possible, we will apply our faith to see! Jesus said, to the complaining man who lay for all those years hoping for his healing, Get up! Walk! And the man did, because He put his faith in Jesus!
Before Jesus commanded him to use his faith, this man choose to seek excuses to remain the same…that man justified his lack of healing because of being downcast to depression convinced he had lost his race to the pool of troubled “healing” waters! But Jesus said, “Get up and walk” and he did!
Faith and Hope … You have the gift of Faith! Have you Received Jesus for your gift of Hope? If you believe in Hope then apply your faith and believe in God’s promises … more than you have a desire to see a rare meteor shower! How much do you desire to know God? Our desire is reflected in how much we pursue Him and how quickly we give up thinking with a mindset like that man convinced he was destined to lay on a mat! Get up and walk says Jesus!
Jesus was sleeping on the waves of that crazy storm, when everyone else was just feeling the fear … Jesus was existing in his resting faith of that God was in control … study that Bible history and apply your faith to be more like Jesus over your troubles!

Today’s Cup was inspired from this early morning experience in my home! I wanted to sleep and felt the tiredness, but the inspiration of hope and wonder caused my faith to move and what I found was more than I was looking for! Awesome God and Amazing Power ~ God goes farther than our imaginations can soar!

Our life’s trials are like cloud covered skies. Sometimes we even forget that there are stars (hope) up there … but God sends us friends to remind us like Jesus did on that water – Just have faith and stay encouraged!
Because of hope in what we believe is possible, we can just show up to see what God has in store! I am grateful that my kids inspired me to stay up! I hope this Cup Today inspires you to reach up to God!

Faith is a gift that takes time to appreciate. Faith has no limits except those set by man. Faith is the action of walking with God according to his good will with eyes focused on his ability rather than on the impossible obstacle that may appear to lie ahead.

ANGER
Emotions are not only distracting, but they can interfere with reason and cause you to make decisions or take actions that end up being hazardous to your health.

Here are three of the primary behaviors that can directly result from uncontrolled anger.

On-the-Job Injuries
You’ll likely spend most of your adult life working. So if you’re injured, it’s most likely to occur on the job — and that’s true no matter what you do for a living. So, what does that have to do with anger? A lot…

– Up to a third of people who were injured on the job admit that they were experiencing some level of anger prior to the injury.
– The angrier they were at the time; the more likely they were to be injured.
– If they were extremely irritated, they were five times more likely to be injured than if they weren’t irritated at all.
– If they were extremely angry, they were seven times more likely to be injured than if they weren’t angry.
– If they were in a rage, they were 12 times more likely to be injured than if you weren’t in a rage.
– Anger is more likely to lead to injury in men.
– Anger increases the odds of your injuring another employee and inflicting injury on yourself.
– Anger and alcohol use prior to injury are highly linked, and both independently increase a person’s odds of being injured on the job.

Unsafe Sex
Most people are well aware of the hazards associated with unprotected sex, having sex with multiple partners, or having sex while under the influence of drugs. You know that all these behaviors raise your odds of becoming HIV-infected and possibly dying of AIDS (not to mention contracting other sexually transmitted diseases [STDs]).

High-risk sex, it turns out, is often accompanied by anger. When women, for example, are presented with an opportunity for unsafe sex — and they are not angry at the time — they typically abstain or take reasonable precautions such as using a condom. They weigh the consequences and act accordingly. But if they are mad — for example, at a parent who has forbidden them to continue a relationship with their boyfriend — all that reason flies out the window. It’s the old “I’ll show you I can do anything I want with whomever I want — so there!” mentality.

Road Rage
Anger is hazardous to driving and if you’re a self-professed high-anger driver, do yourself a favor and get some help.

The AAA Foundation for Traffic Safety estimates — conservatively — that, between 1990 and 1996, road rage caused 218 traffic fatalities and over 12,000 injuries. Even more alarming is their estimate that this problem is increasing yearly by somewhere between 5 and 10 percent. Bottom line: You may literally be putting your life in someone else’s hands every time you get behind the wheel.

Road rage isn’t about the road — it’s about rage. High-anger drivers typically demonstrate the following characteristics:

-They’re highly judgmental of other people’s driving.
-They have contempt for how others drive.
-They have more vengeful thoughts about other drivers.
-They take more risks while driving — speeding, switching lanes, tailgating, running yellow lights.
-They experience anger on a daily basis, aka “chronic anger”.
-They’re more likely to get in the car already angry.
-They tend to express their anger outwardly — yelling, honking, finger pointing, tailgating.
-They have less control of their emotions in general.
-They tend to react impulsively when frustrated.

Most of the things in life we call accidents really aren’t accidents. And some people are really just accidents waiting to happen. Be honest about yourself about your own road rage — you could not only be saving your life, but also the lives of everyone else on the road with you.

Before you can manage your own anger, you need to be aware of what anger is and isn’t. Unfortunately, myths about anger seem to abound.

Here are some falsehoods and the facts:

– Males are angrier than females. If by angrier you mean how often people experience anger, it’s simply not true that men are angrier than women. Surveys show that women get mad just as frequently as men — about once or twice a week on average. On the other hand, men tend to report more intense anger, while women tend to hang on to anger longer.

– Anger is bad. Anger serves a variety of positive purposes when it comes to coping with stress. It energizes you, improves your communication with other people, and defends you against fear and insecurity. Jesus, Gandhi, and Martin Luther King, Jr., had their angry moments — but they turned that kind of “good” anger into social reform that makes the world a better place.

– Anger is good. When it leads to domestic violence, property damage, sexual abuse, drug addiction, ulcers, and self-mutilation, anger is absolutely, definitely not good.

– Anger is only a problem when you openly express it. As few as 10% of people act out their feelings when they get angry. The other 90% either suppress their anger (“I don’t want to talk about it!”) or repress their anger (“I’m not angry at all — really!”). People who express their anger are the squeaky wheels who get everyone’s attention; people who repress or suppress their anger need anger management just as much.

– The older you get, the more irritable you are. It’s the other way around — as people age; they report fewer negative emotions and greater emotional control. People — like wine and cheese — do tend to improve with age.

– Anger is all in the mind. It begins in the mind. Emotions reflect onto our physical aspect. When you get mad, that emotion is instantly manifested in muscles throughout your entire body, the hairs on the back of your neck, your blood pressure, your blood sugar levels, your heart rate, your respiration rate, your gut, even your finger temperature (it warms up) — quickly before you’re aware of what’s happening.

– Anger is all about getting even. The most common motive behind anger has been shown to be a desire to assert authority or independence, or to improve one’s image — not necessarily to cause harm. Revenge is a secondary motive. A third motive involves letting off steam over accumulated frustrations — again with no apparent intent to harm anyone else.

– Only certain types of people have a problem with anger. All types of people — truck drivers, college professors, pastors, priests, physicians, housewives, grandmothers, lawyers, policemen, career criminals, poor people, millionaires, children, the elderly, people of various colors, nationalities, and religions — experience anger. Anger is a universal emotion!

– Anger results from human conflict. Sometimes yes, sometimes no. Research on anger has found that people can get angry by being exposed to foul odors, aches and pains, and hot temperatures — none of which involve (or can be blamed on) the actions of others.

When you express your anger to others, your intent is to intimidate them into doing what you want or feeling the way you want them to feel. Repressed anger is also a form of control. By not speaking up, you hope to have control over how the other person feels about you. You don’t want to run the risk of rejection so you keep quiet. The problem is that you are trying to have control over something that you cannot control. While you might be able to intimidate others into doing what you want, you cannot have control over how others feel about you.

The effects of anger on the body

Anger can raise your heart rate to 180 beats a minute. It can raise your blood pressure from 120/80 to 220/130, even higher.

Your breathing becomes rapid as you try to get more oxygen into your body. Anger can compromise lung function.

Your body tenses and your muscles become tight especially in the neck and shoulders. Tight neck and head muscles can cause tension headaches, migraines or lead to insomnia.

When you become stressed, your mind is in survival mode and your body releases chemicals to clot the blood, creating a potentially dangerous situation: a clot can travel through the blood vessels the brain or heart, resulting in a stroke or heart attack.

Anger also impedes circulation. Lack of oxygen can cause severe chest pains. Uncontrollable anger can trigger the bursting of a brain artery resulting in a stroke.

Your metabolism is at risk. Anger is blocked energy that can slow down your body`s metabolism. Stress and anger can trigger eating binges, weight gain, and addictive tendencies.

Anger stimulates the release of acids in the stomach causing acid reflux and gastric ulcers.

The normal coordinates of signals for the brain to the heart are disrupted by anger and emotional distress. This disruption triggers abnormal heart rhythms which account for well over 400,000 sudden deaths a year.

Research reveals that stress can cause neurons to shrink and disconnect. Anger and stress promotes the death of neurons, which can explain why stress is the leading cause of depression.

Anger in the Bible

The Holy Bible has a lot to say about anger. In fact, the word “anger” occurs 233 times in 228 verses in the NKJV. “Angry” also occurs 92 times in 89 verses in the NKJV.

I believe that anger is first a spiritual problem that manifests itself in a person’s soul and then into the body. I also believe that any kind of “anger management” has to address the angry person’s personal relationship to God; only through Jesus Christ and no other way without exception.

“Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, clamor, and evil speaking be put away from you, with all malice.” Ephesians 4:31

“But now you yourselves are to put off all these: anger, wrath, malice, blasphemy, filthy language out of your mouth.” Colossians 3:8

“A soft answer turns away wrath, but a harsh word stirs up anger.” Proverbs 15:1

“A wrathful man stirs up strife, but [he who is] slow to anger allays contention.” Proverbs 15:18

“[He
who is] slow to anger [is] better than the mighty, and he who rules his spirit than he who takes a city.” Proverbs 16:32

“The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory [is] to overlook a transgression.” Proverbs 19:11
