It has been such a blessing to be with KKIM and American General Media. It has been like I have been in seminary for 7 years, learning from the best all these years. When you hear Billy Graham, Dr. Charles Stanley……and all the KKIM programs everyday for nearly 7 years you can’t help but have it impact your life. When you add all the local Pastor’s and all the hundred’s of people I have interviewed on my program…..well it’s been an amazing journey at KKIM. It has been quite an education in our Lord. People tell me I have been a blessing, but you know what? I have been the one that has been blessed.
This period of time will go down as my best ever in my 35 years in radio!
This radio station that was started by Mr and Mrs Frank Donald Hall back in 1972 will continue to be a light for Jesus Christ.
My thanks to American General Media for letting me Pastor over this Ministry. Thanks to all of you for your support and love!

Abraham began walking with the Lord many years before he was asked to offer Isaac on the altar. His first step had been to leave his home and relatives and go to a land God pledged to show him. But now he was being told to give up the person he cherished most. Isaac was the son of promise–the one through whom God would bring forth a great nation and bless the entire world. This was the biggest challenge Abraham had ever faced, yet he obeyed.
The Lord never allows us to rest on a spiritual plateau. That’s why He at times tests our commitment. These stretching opportunities are an expression of His love because He knows that standing still is not what’s best for us. The testing is designed to help us grow in faith, obedience, and spiritual maturity while increasing our dedication. That is the way we become valuable servants in His kingdom.
Abraham’s obedience to this crucial test was determined by his understanding of God. He believed that the Lord would keep His promise to give him descendants through Isaac, even if it required raising the boy from the dead (Heb. 11:17-19). That’s why Abraham confidently declared to his servants, “We will worship and return to you” (Gen. 22:5, emphasis added). He knew the Lord was faithful.
If you’re going through a time of testing, God is seeking to raise your commitment to a new level. He wants to prove to you that He’s faithful to His promises and will greatly bless you for your obedience. The stretching may be painful, but He will wrap you in His love and carry you to victory.

Is submit a word of weakness or of POwer? … The answer is a matter of confidence in of “being strong” or in strength:

POwer … “we r” to Submit to God and HIS grace is our POwer !
Submit… means UNDER & TO ARRANGE: “This word is a wonderful definition of what it means to “submit” to God. It means to arrange oneself under the command of divine viewpoint rather than to live according to one’s old way of life based on a human viewpoint. It is a process surrendering our own will to that of our Father’s.”
Today’s world has misused the word submit by trampling the word TRUST.
***This in NO WAY says to submit and continue in a harmful abusive relationship…*** Please seek help and guidance if this is the case <3
I submit (present an option) to you Today that We can trust God and that God will never ask us to do anything that is bad for us or that would humiliate us…and if we must go through a difficult time or endure harm because of our faith, God’s word of submit did not cause that … the opposition to good did.
God asks us to love, live, experience peace and joy in all things and promises to be faithful and true to us always. We can trust God’s thoughts & trust that HE knows what He is doing, even when we can’t see the results yet …. That’s faith! Faith submits to God because we trust that He loves us; and the reward is great God’s way.
I hope this is a blessing to you, because I submit to God 1st (always I strive) and I submit to my husband because I submit to God first, but that just means that I respect my husband and trust that he also submits his will to God’s and the benefit is a happy marriage of 25 years Lord willing Oct 22! <3
Of course a husband has their job to love and cherish their wife…but that word “submit” is on my heart Today, because it is a POwerFUL word that has been twisted and misused by the opposition to God with an evil purpose to gain control over our blessed life that Christ died to give us! Living a godly way is good and good for us…
<3 As a wife, we don’t submit to just a mere man, we submit to God first and foremost trusting that God’s way is good! We also are instructed by God to submit trusting God by also submitting [as a helper in a team “marriage” built on trust in love] to our husband whom God has chosen for us because our husband is also trusting God.
This doesn’t mean that our husband is always right, but as a wife, if we do what is right, then God will make it RIGHT … because our husband is listening to God. There is more & my husband and I have real life miracle testimonies about this, but just to conclude, God’s Way works!

Losing Your Temper Doubles Stroke Risk Stressed-out, type A personalities may be more likely to suffer a stroke than their mellow counterparts, a new Spanish study suggests. Previous research has linked stress to heart disease, but this latest finding, which appears online Aug. 29 in the Journal of Neurology, Neurosurgery and Psychiatry, looked at stress in relation to stroke risk. Strokes brutally kill some 140,000 Americans each year. Researchers from the Hospital Clinico Universitario San Carlos in Madrid compared stroke risk factors, including stress levels, among 150 adults who had a stroke and 300 healthy adults (the “control” group). Stress levels were measured using standardized tools assessing major life events, anxiety and depression, general well-being and personality type. Participants also answered questions about their caffeine, alcohol and energy drink intake, smoking status, and whether or not they had a job. Having had a stressful major life event in the past year quadrupled the risk of stroke, while having a type A personality doubled the chances, according to Dr. Jose Antonio Egido and colleagues. Smoking or having smoked in the past also doubled the chances, the investigators found. “Addressing the influence of psychophysical factors on stroke could constitute an additional therapeutic line in the primary prevention of stroke in the at-risk population and, as such, warrants further investigation,” the study authors concluded. Experts agreed the finding could help doctors better understand the effect of stress on stroke risk. But while the study did show an association between the two it did not prove cause and effect. “This study is useful and valuable because it shows us that there is an association between stress, type A personalities and stroke risk,” said Dr. Deepak Bhatt, director of the integrated cardiovascular intervention program at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston. “Stress can elevate blood pressure, and high blood pressure is a major risk factor for stroke.” It also makes sense that someone who is continually stressed may smoke, drink alcohol, eat an unhealthy diet and not exercise regularly, which could make things worse, Bhatt added. Taking steps to lower stress levels may help offset these risks, he said. Exercise and meditation are two ways to help keep stress at bay. It’s also important to begin to identify stress triggers and take steps to avoid them, he said. “If it is deadlines that stress you out, it may be worthwhile to set aside more time when one is pending so you are not burning the midnight oil.” Dr. Rafael Ortiz, director of the Center for Stroke and Neuro-Endovascular Surgery at Lenox Hill Hospital in New York City, said that the findings emphasize the need for tighter control of known risk factors for stroke — especially in the face of stress. “Make sure your high blood pressure is controlled, maintain a healthy diet and remain physically active regardless of the stress happening in your life,” he said. “All this will decrease your chance of having a stroke.” Dr. Curtis Reisinger, a clinical psychologist at Zucker Hillside Hospital in Glen Oaks, N.Y., said that it is likely the anger and hostility associated with type A personalities are what contribute to cardiovascular risks. “A lot of people don’t even recognize that they are angry, but they snap all the time and are always gritting their teeth,” he said. Biofeedback and cognitive behavior therapy can teach people to control how they react to events that cause them to become stressed or angry. The simple act of praying for another can help people control their anger after being insulted by a stranger. Researchers at Ohio State University found that asking people to pray for someone who needed help (someone sick, for instance) helped them calm down after they were intentionally provoked to anger. Saturday after Bible study at the Upper Room (I will be preaching there this Sunday 10am 5505 Lomas call 255-4043 for more info) We have a full staff of volunteers at this office during the week. Anyhow on the way home I stopped to see Kevin at Bibles Plus and got Max Lucado’s newest book, GRACE! AWESOME!

When grace happens, we receive not a nice compliment from God but a new heart. Give your heart to Jesus Christ, and He returns the favor. “I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit within you” Ezek 36:26

You might call it a heart transplant!

As Paul said, “It is not longer I who live, but Christ lives in me” Gal 2:20. The apostle sensed within himself not just the philosophy, ideals, or influence of Jesus Christ but the person of Jesus. Christ moved in. He still does. When that happens, Christ enters. “Christ in you, the hope of Glory” Col. 1:27

Grace hugged the stink out of the prodigal and scared the hate out of Paul and pledges to do the same in us! AMEN!

Life’s Greatest Investment

What is the most worthwhile investment a person can make in life? Is it a great stock that produces enormous dividends? Or a satisfying, lucrative career? For some, family might be the answer, while others might choose giving time and treasure to the church. All of these things are good, but the Lord showed Paul what He considered to be the best use of our lives: Helping someone come to a saving knowledge of Christ is the greatest achievement possible.
When you become an instrument in God’s hands as He transfers someone from the realm of darkness into the kingdom of His Son, you make a difference in the person’s eternal destiny. Not only that, but Satan also receives a devastating blow. Just imagine the defeat he suffered when Paul turned to Jesus. The same holds true for any new believer: All the Devil’s plans for that individual are thwarted. As a person begins to live in God’s will, there’s no telling what the Lord will do in and through him.
Furthermore, whenever you introduce someone to the Savior, you’re carrying out the work of the church. Jesus told His followers to make disciples of all nations (Matt. 28:19). This gigantic task is accomplished one person at a time, as we each do our part to share the gospel.
God’s plan for enlarging His kingdom is so simple–one person telling another about the Savior. Yet we’re busy and full of excuses. Just remember, someone’s eternal destiny is at stake. The joy you’ll have when you meet that person in heaven will far exceed any discomfort you felt in sharing the gospel.

When you pray for others, God listens to you and blesses them, and sometimes, when you are safe and happy, remember that someone has prayed for you. 10. Kevin Robinson Here’s Doctor Joe with our Medical Bag………… Chocolate is associated with a string of health benefits including lowering the risk of heart attacks, fighting stress, combating cavities, and boosting brain function. But a new study published in the journal Neurology found that men who eat dark chocolate (not milk chocolate) every week have a lower risk of stroke than those who don’t eat the sweet treat. “While other studies have looked at how chocolate may help cardiovascular health, this is the first of its kind study to find that chocolate, may be beneficial for reducing stroke in men,” said study author Susanna C. Larsson, Ph.D., with the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm, Sweden. For the study, 37,103 Swedish men ages 49 to 75 were asked how often they ate chocolate. Researchers then identified stroke cases through a hospital discharge registry over a 10-year period and found that 1,995 of the men had suffered a first stroke. Men who ate the most chocolate — about one-third of a cup of dark chocolate chips (63 grams) each week — had a 17% lower risk of stroke than those who didn’t eat any chocolate. In a larger analysis of five studies that included 4,260 stroke cases, the risk for those men who ate the largest amount of chocolate was 19% lower than for those who consumed no chocolate. For every increase in chocolate consumption of 50 grams per week (about a quarter cup of chocolate chips), the risk of stroke decreased 14%. “The beneficial effect of chocolate consumption on stroke may be related to the flavonoids in chocolate,” said Larsson. “Flavonoids appear to be protective against cardiovascular disease through antioxidant, anti-clotting, and anti-inflammatory properties. It’s also possible that flavonoids in chocolate may decrease blood concentrations of bad cholesterol and reduce blood pressure.” Other lifestyle changes that can reduce your chance of having a stroke include: • Stop smoking. Smokers double their risk of stroke, but if they quit, their risk begins diminishing immediately. • Keep blood pressure under control. Uncontrolled high blood pressure increases the risk of stroke four to six times. • Eat fish. One study found that women who ate more than three servings of fish a week lowered their risk of stroke by 16% when compared to women who ate less than one serving a week. • Control diabetes. Diabetics are up to four times more likely to have a stroke than non-diabetics. • Exercise. I am getting asked a lot of questions as to what I am going to do…..a lot of questions….Sharon and are following the path the Lord has us going down, He has gone before us and paved the road for the start of For God’s Glory Alone Ministries. God has called us out to Preach and serve His people, we are like missionaries, we will go anywhere for our Lord. It is the call of God. I believe God is calling you out as well to be more bold in your faith during these days, to share it with many, to serve others!

If I Preach God’s Word I must do what it says! To many Preach the Word but do not act! You and I must do what God says in our lives! You are only going to know that however with a close relationship with Jesus Christ. How close are you to Jesus? Do you hear Him? If not I will help you.

Lot’s of questions for me what are you going to do? What’s next? How you going to make a living? Many are very concerned for Sharon and I. It all comes down to listening to our Lord and being obedient.

Have you ever wondered what God’s will is for your life? Have you needed to make a difficult decision and wondered what God wanted you to do in that situation?
We all struggle with questions about our future. Questions like: How can I know God’s plan for my life? Which job should I take? Is this the person God wants me to marry? Is this a good investment to make? Should I share the gospel with my boss? You probably have questions you could add to that list.
The greatest discovery I have ever made concerning how to know the will of God involves the following:

• Fully surrendering my life to the Lordship of Christ
• Living a life of obedience in the power of the Holy Spirit
• Maintaining my first love for our Lord

Many Christians are trying so hard to discover the will of God that they lose the joy of the Lord and leave their first love for Him.
But all we need to do is abide in Christ, maintain our first love for Him, and walk in the power of the Holy Spirit, and we will be in the will of God. So as you continue to walk in the Spirit, He will guide you in making the most important decisions of life. He will also guide you in the daily, moment-by-moment decisions and actions of your life.
Speaking of the Holy Spirit, Jesus says, “When he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all truth…and he will tell you what is yet to come” (John 16:13). So the key to knowing God’s will is to be obedient to the guidance of the Holy Spirit of truth. If you are willing to trust and obey God and live a holy life, God will reveal Himself to you and direct your steps as a way of life.
Satan is the enemy of our soul. His mission is to keep us from being effective and fruitful in our witness. But although he wields great power, Satan can never defeat us if we are completely yielded and obedient to Christ
Some people are reluctant to trust God completely with their lives, fearing that He may want to make a change in their plans. Yes, He will change our plans. His plans are infinitely better than the very best we could ever conceive.
Is it not logical that the One who created us knows better than we the purpose for which we were created? And since He loves us enough to die for us, is it not logical to believe that His way is best (Romans 8:32)?
Obedience is the true test of our love for Christ and the secret to discovering God’s will for our life.

That was a miracle in itself and no stress. Thank you Jesus.

I had known Dewey from a distance over the years as our paths crossed at different events and gatherings, but really came to know his heart and have the privilege of calling him “friend” after responding to an email sent out about becoming a “ministry representative” for KKIM. I wasn’t looking for a “job” but was intrigued by the opportunity to be involved with the ministry he was so committed to. Over time I filled in for Radio Hall of Famer, Frank Haley, contributed to “Dewey’s Cup”, aired a weekly teaching program, and made a number of guest “appearances” on “New Mexico News and Views”. I have known Dewey for more than 15 years. When Dewey joined KKIM more than 6 years ago, I saw his heart and passion for Christian Radio. From the beginning, Dewey’s mission was to spread the word of God’s salvation to everyone. Dewey listened and obeyed the urgings of the Holy Spirit to renew existing ministries and bring in new ministries to KKIM in order to reach every man, women and child hungry for a relationship with God.

Luke 6:38 (ERV) says:
“Give to others, and you will receive. You will be given much. It will be poured into your hands—more than you can hold. You will be given so much that it will spill into your lap. The way you give to others is the way God will give to you.”

I feel this verse describes Dewey. Through his ministry, I have seen Dewey grow in his own faith. And I believe his relationship with God has grown through his ministering to others.

Dewey has had the nudging from the Holy Spirit for a while that a change was coming in his life. While change is always scary, it may be the only way for God to use you more and in new ways. I encourage you to lift Dewey and Sharon up in prayer daily. I also encourage you to pray about how you can support them in this ministry “For God’s Glory Alone”. You, too, will be blessed!

A Father, a Daughter and a Dog- story by Catherine Moore “Watch out! You nearly broad sided that car!” My father yelled at me. “Can’t you do anything right?” Those words hurt worse than blows. I turned my head toward the elderly man in the seat beside me, daring me to challenge him. A lump rose in my throat as I averted my eyes. I wasn’t prepared for another battle. “I saw the car, Dad . Please don’t yell at me when I’m driving..” My voice was measured and steady, sounding far calmer than I really felt. Dad glared at me, then turned away and settled back. At home I left Dad in front of the television and went outside to collect my thoughts…. dark, heavy clouds hung in the air with a promise of rain. The rumble of distant thunder seemed to echo my inner turmoil. What could I do about him? Dad had been a lumberjack in Washington and Oregon . He had enjoyed being outdoors and had reveled in pitting his strength against the forces of nature. He had entered grueling lumberjack competitions, and had placed often. The shelves in his house were filled with trophies that attested to his prowess. The years marched on relentlessly. The first time he couldn’t lift a heavy log, he joked about it; but later that same day I saw him outside alone, straining to lift it.. He became irritable whenever anyone teased him about his advancing age, or when he couldn’t do something he had done as a younger man. Four days after his sixty-seventh birthday, he had a heart attack. An ambulance sped him to the hospital while a paramedic administered CPR to keep blood and oxygen flowing. At the hospital, Dad was rushed into an operating room. He was lucky; he survived. But something inside Dad died. His zest for life was gone. He obstinately refused to follow doctor’s orders. Suggestions and offers of help were turned aside with sarcasm and insults. The number of visitors thinned, then finally stopped altogether. Dad was left alone.. My husband, Dick, and I asked Dad to come live with us on our small farm. We hoped the fresh air and rustic atmosphere would help him adjust. Within a week after he moved in, I regretted the invitation. It seemed nothing was satisfactory. He criticized everything I did. I became frustrated and moody. Soon I was taking my pent-up anger out on Dick. We began to bicker and argue. Alarmed, Dick sought out our pastor and explained the situation. The clergyman set up weekly counseling appointments for us. At the close of each session he prayed, asking God to soothe Dad ‘s troubled mind. But the months wore on and God was silent. Something had to be done and it was up to me to do it. The next day I sat down with the phone book and methodically called each of the mental health clinics listed in the Yellow Pages. I explained my problem to each of the sympathetic voices that answered in vain. Just when I was giving up hope, one of the voices suddenly exclaimed, “I just read something that might help you! Let me go get the article..” I listened as she read. The article described a remarkable study done at a nursing home. All of the patients were under treatment for chronic depression. Yet their attitudes had proved dramatically when they were given responsibility for a dog. I drove to the animal shelter that afternoon.. After I filled out a questionnaire, a uniformed officer led me to the kennels. The odor of disinfectant stung my nostrils as I moved down the row of pens. Each contained five to seven dogs. Long-haired dogs, curly-haired dogs, black dogs, spotted dogs all jumped up, trying to reach me. I studied each one but rejected one after the other for various reasons too big, too small, too much hair. As I neared the last pen a dog in the shadows of the far corner struggled to his feet, walked to the front of the run and sat down. It was a pointer, one of the dog world’s aristocrats. But this was a caricature of the breed. Years had etched his face and muzzle with shades of gray. His hip bones jutted out in lopsided triangles. But it was his eyes that caught and held my attention. Calm and clear, they beheld me unwaveringly. I pointed to the dog. “Can you tell me about him?” The officer looked, then shook his head in puzzlement. “He’s a funny one. Appeared out of nowhere and sat in front of the gate. We brought him in, figuring someone would be right down to claim him. That was two weeks ago and we’ve heard nothing. His time is up tomorrow.” He gestured helplessly. As the words sank in I turned to the man in horror.. “You mean you’re going to kill him?” “Ma’am,” he said gently, “that’s our policy. We don’t have room for every unclaimed dog.” I looked at the pointer again. The calm brown eyes awaited my decision. “I’ll take him,” I said. I drove home with the dog on the front seat beside me.. When I reached the house I honked the horn twice. I was helping my prize out of the car when Dad shuffled onto the front porch… “Ta-da! Look what I got for you, Dad !” I said excitedly. Dad looked, then wrinkled his face in disgust. “If I had wanted a dog I would have gotten one. And I would have picked out a better specimen than that bag of bones. Keep it! I don’t want it” Dad waved his arm scornfully and turned back toward the house. Anger rose inside me. It squeezed together my throat muscles and pounded into my temples. “You’d better get used to him, Dad. He’s staying!” Dad ignored me.. “Did you hear me, Dad ?” I screamed. At those words Dad whirled angrily, his hands clenched at his sides, his eyes narrowed and blazing with hate. We stood glaring at each other like duelists, when suddenly the pointer pulled free from my grasp. He wobbled toward my dad and sat down in front of him. Then slowly, carefully, he raised his paw.. Dad ‘s lower jaw trembled as he stared at the uplifted paw confusion replaced the anger in his eyes. The pointer waited patiently. Then Dad was on his knees hugging the animal. It was the beginning of a warm and intimate friendship. Dad named the pointer Cheyenne . Together he and Cheyenne explored the community. They spent long hours walking down dusty lanes. They spent reflective moments on the banks of streams, angling for tasty trout. They even started to attend Sunday services together, Dad sitting in a pew and Cheyenne lying quietly at is feet. Dad and Cheyenne were inseparable throughout the next three years. Dad ‘s bitterness faded, and he and Cheyenne made many friends. Then late one night I was startled to feel Cheyenne ‘s cold nose burrowing through our bed covers. He had never before come into our bedroom at night.. I woke Dick, put on my robe and ran into my father’s room. Dad lay in his bed, his face serene. But his spirit had left quietly sometime during the night. Two days later my shock and grief deepened when I discovered Cheyenne lying dead beside Dad ‘s bed. I wrapped his still form in the rag rug he had slept on. As Dick and I buried him near a favorite fishing hole, I silently thanked the dog for the help he had given me in restoring Dad ‘s peace of mind. The morning of Dad ‘s funeral dawned overcast and dreary. This day looks like the way I feel, I thought, as I walked down the aisle to the pews reserved for family. I was surprised to see the many friends Dad and Cheyenne had made filling the church. The pastor began his eulogy. It was a tribute to both Dad and the dog who had changed his life. And then the pastor turned to Hebrews 13:2. “Do not neglect to show hospitality to strangers, for by this some have entertained angels without knowing it.” “I’ve often thanked God for sending that angel,” he said. For me, the past dropped into place, completing a puzzle that I had not seen before: the sympathetic voice that had just read the right article… Cheyenne ‘s unexpected appearance at the animal shelter. . …his calm acceptance and complete devotion to my father. . and the proximity of their deaths. And suddenly I understood. I knew that God had answered my prayers after all. Life is too short for drama or petty things, so laugh hard, love truly and forgive quickly. Live While You Are Alive. For the flesh sets its desire against the Spirit, and the Spirit against the flesh; for these are in opposition to one another, so that you may not do the things that you please.” Kevin Robinson Here’s Doctor Joe……… Fit 50-year-olds are less likely to get chronic diseases as they age than are couch potatoes, according to a new U.S. study. It may seem like a no-brainer, but the study helps fine-tune our understanding of the link between fitness and healthy aging, researchers say. “It has been known for decades that if you are more fit, you live longer,” Dr. Jarett Berry at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center, Dallas, told Reuters Health. “But it has not been clear that you have a higher quality of life, that you age better.” It’s possible that fit people just delay the onset of chronic illness, for instance, and end up being sick just as long as their weaker peers. But that doesn’t appear to be the case, according to the new research, published in the Archives of Internal Medicine. “We see truly reduced chronic disease, rather than just delaying the inevitable,” said Berry, who led the work. He and his colleagues studied more than 18,600 healthy men and women, who had done a treadmill test sometime around age 50 to measure their cardiorespiratory fitness. Using Medicare claims data spanning an average of 26 years, the researchers then linked the treadmill results to the rate of eight chronic conditions, including heart disease, diabetes, Alzheimer’s disease, and colon cancer. Among men in the lowest fifth of fitness scores, the rate of chronic disease was 28% per year. By contrast, the rate was only 16% per year among the top fifth. For women, the numbers were 20% per year versus 11%, respectively. The findings don’t prove that exercising more cuts the risk of chronic disease, because it could be that people with a lot of physical activity also eat healthier foods — something the researchers didn’t take into account. (They did account for smoking, alcohol use, obesity, blood pressure and cholesterol levels.) The new study would seem to argue for more-vigorous activities such as jogging, cycling, or playing basketball, he said. “We know from prior literature that higher-intensity exercise tends to translate into more fitness,” Berry explained. “Walking is clearly better than doing nothing, but if you can make the choice between walking and jogging, then jogging is probably better for you.” I’ll post a “medical bag” on Tuesday.
