Good Morning KKIM Family,
Today the Post Office, Banks, and Government offices are closed because of Veterans Day.
Let not this day just be a day for people to have the day off………
Let this be a day where we pay tribute to those who have and are serving our Country.
This year’s Veterans Day marks the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Armistice Treaty, which ended World War I when Germany and the Western Allies agreed to a cease-fire. The Armistice was signed at 11am on Nov. 11th. 1918—— the 11th hour the 11th day of the 11th month.
I was very pleased this morning to find scripture in my daily newspaper, the Albuquerque Journal! On this Veterans Day someone has purchased a little ad in the news section and posted this scripture on Veterans day 2008………..
“For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give His life a ransom for many.”
Mark 10:45
Such fitting scripture for today.
I remember my Dad and his 6 brothers who served at once in WWII on this day…………
I remember my dear friend Roger Carey from Windom, Minn (My Hometown) who was killed in Vietnam after just serving 6 months.
I remember all those like Roger who did not return home from all the wars…………and the Mom’s, Dad’s, Brother’s, Sisters, Grandma’s and Grandpa’s who never saw their loved one’s again after they left home to fight for our Country.
They fought for you and me and the United States of America, One Nation Under God.
Praise God for all the DAVID’s who faced the giants!
So today my prayer is that you will take time and go to your knees in prayer and thank the Lord for all the Men and Women who have and are fighting for us. Please also pray for their families.
God Bless, Dewey Sharon and family
