Welcome to the last days of 2008!!!
Good Morning KKIM Family!!!
Our prayer is that you had a wonderful Christmas in our Lord!
It was the first Christmas for Heyden……..our Great niece, My sister Deb is now a GRANDMA!!!! WOW!!! Nothing like having a brand new baby under the tree!!!!
I have been praying for you all and I have been listening to God.
I have been praying that I become a better person, a better servant of others, a better Husband, a better father…….
What have you been working on? Any self-improvement projects?
The Pope was right on with his Christmas message when he said greed would destroy the world. More on that below. Greed has sure taken it’s toll on the United States, and we let it happen.
What is so wonderful is that we can pray to our Father and listen……..listen for HIM…..
The message today is that we are not just to complain……..we are to pray for wisdom to help with the problems that are all around us, not just complain. God will guide us, if we give ourselves up.
It seems that many have turned to complaining about things, even hate talk. We all need to be in prayer about this mood our country is in. We will go know where with this type of thinking.
Rick Warren writes in his book, “The Purpose of Christmas” (Yes the kids got me another book, it is AWESOME!!)
Were all born with an “I” problem. We are, by nature, self-centered. Just ask any parent who has raised a child. We don’t have to be taught to be selfish. It comes naturally. If people were naturally unselfish, there never would be any conflict, divorce, abuse, greed, crime, gossip, or war on earth.
Our natural inclination is to want our own way instead of God’s way. This tendency to make wrong choices instead of the right ones is called sin. The middle letter of sin is I, and whenever I place myself at the center of my life, I sin. It is any attitude or action that denies God HIS rightful place as first in my life.
Dewey’s thoughts:
How do we help ourselves?, by not focusing on ourselves. We pray, we ask for God’s guidance in our lives, so that we don’t put ourselves first. We also by doing that are the shining light that God wants us to be, the leaders that HE wants us to be for HIM. So let us not complain, let us ask for forgiveness of our sins, let us pray for guidance in our lives, let us serve others, let us be shining lights for Jesus!
By not putting ourselves first, Greed would not take place…….so let us let that message shine through in our day to day lives.
We have this prayer need………….
Merry Christmas and Happy New year to you Dewey,
I have received some news from a very Dear friend of mine. I found out Christmas Eve actually as she got a call from her Doctor with results of several biopsies. She has a grapefruit sized tumor on her ovary and had various tumors in her colon and some spots in her liver. No warning, no symptoms, and completely devastated. They are going to try to do surgery on Jan 6. If they open her up and find that it has spread to other areas they will do only chemo. Please send out a prayer request for her as she is in stage 3. I am very afraid for her and she and her Husband need all the help they can get. She is a wonderful Christian.
Her name is Gale.
God Bless,
Nicole
We will be in prayer Nicole for Gale. Please let her know upwards of a thousand are now praying for her!!!
Please pray for Christopher. His Grandpa has asked for prayers for this 14 year old who is being raised by his Grandpa and Grandma. It seems Christopher is going through what we all did at 14, growing pains.
PRAISE NOTE:
Weeks ago we asked that you pray for Charlie Hickman. His wife Lavella told me that the Doctor’s are pleased with the condition of the lung that has been a concern. (A black spot) Charlie’s next check up is in March. Please keep him in your prayers.
One of the things I just love about KKIM and the Cup is the sharing and praying!
Jan Moore, one who has not put herself first at all in her life…….needs a liver transplant. We asked you for prayers awhile back. Last week? But another who does not put herself first is Sam……
Dearest Jan, I read about your needing a liver and was deeply touched. I think God has a great plan for you and your body. Not just an implant, not to make it sound like a small thing! but I believe He has plans for you through your implant. I don’t know what or why Jan, but He has touched me so through reading about you. Sometimes a wife of a minister for our Lord, has many obligations. I’m sure you know You have a ministry also Jan. That comes with the territory. God usually puts two of His believers together so they may feed off of each other to be more effective in the cry for the Lord.
Our Lord will not only heal you and help you through it, He is beside you. Somehow you will be a witness for Him through your affliction. My heart and prayers are with you in this. As I am sure there are many Children of God praying for you at this time. You are not at all, alone.
Last night I was sitting in quietness in front of the fireplace Jan, with nothing on my mind. But as I watched the small flames under the only log left on a heap of coals, I added another log. The small log immediately burst into magnificent flames and warmth hit my face. I instantly thought of the children of God. Alone we can burn brightly with the amount Faith that God has given us. But when we are joined with the presence of another believer, we instantly shine brighter! We are warmer and it is just a natural occurrence. Praise God. For where there are two or more gathered there is our Lord and Saviour.
I will probably never meet you Jan, here on this earth. But our Heavenly Father has brought us together in Spirit to help your body get the strength and much more, the faith and contentment He wants you to have in this, a very tough time. It is all in HIS plan. You are in my prayers. God Speed. Sam
Thank you Sam for being a Leader for Jesus, by putting HIM first and HIS children!
Here is some unfinished business from Christmas………I read this letter sent to me by Linda, but did not get it posted………what a great reminder…….and it is on NOT COMPLANING……I love how the Lord works………HE saved this posting for today!!!! I love the one that says…Behave like a Christian.
A Note From Jesus
Dear Children,
It has come to my attention that many of you are upset that folks are taking My name out of the season. How I personally feel about this celebration can probably be most easily understood by those of you who have been blessed with children of your own. I don’t care what you call the day. If you want to celebrate My birth, just GET ALONG AND LOVE ONE ANOTHER. If it bothers you that the town in which you live doesn’t allow a scene depicting My birth, then just get rid of a couple of Santas and snowmen and put in a small Nativity scene on your own front lawn. If all My followers did that there wouldn’t be any need for such a scene on the town square because there would be many of them all around town. Stop worrying about the fact that people are calling the tree a holiday tree, instead of a Christmas tree. It was I who made all trees. You can remember Me anytime you see any tree. Decorate a grape vine if you wish: I actually spoke of that one in a teaching, explaining who I am in relation to you and what each of our tasks were. If you have forgotten that one, look up John 15: 1 – 8. If you want to give Me a present in remembrance of My birth here is my wish list. Choose something from it:
1. Instead of writing protest letters objecting to the way My birthday is being celebrated, write letters of love and hope to soldiers away from home. They are terribly afraid and lonely this time of year. I know, they tell Me all the time.
2. Visit someone in a nursing home. You don’t have to know them personally. They just need to know that someone cares about them.
3. Instead of writing George complaining about the wording on the cards his staff sent out this year, why don’t you write and tell him that you’ll be praying for him and his family this year. Then follow up. It will be nice hearing from you again.
4. Instead of giving your children a lot of gifts you can’t afford and they don’t need, spend time with them. Tell them the story of My birth, and why I came to live with you down here. Hold them in your arms and remind them that I love them.
5. Pick someone that has hurt you in the past and forgive him or her.
6. Did you know that someone in your town will attempt to take their own life this season because they feel so alone and hopeless? Since you don’t know who that person is, try giving everyone you meet a warm smile; it could make the difference.
7. Instead of nit picking about what the retailer in your town calls the holiday, be patient with the people who work there. Give them a warm smile and a kind word. Even if they aren’t allowed to wish you a “Merry Christmas” that doesn’t keep you from wishing them one. Then stop shopping there on Sunday. If the store didn’t make so much money on that day they’d close and let their employees spend the day at home with their families.
8. If you really want to make a difference, support a missionary– especially one who takes My love and Good News to those who have never heard My name.
9. There are individuals and whole families in your town who not only will have no “Christmas” tree, but neither will they have any presents to give or receive. If you don’t know them, buy some food and a few gifts and give them to the Salvation Army or some other charity which believes in Me and they will make the delivery for you.
10. Finally, if you want to make a statement about your belief in and loyalty to Me, then behave like a Christian. Don’t do things in secret that you wouldn’ t do in My presence. Let people know by your actions that you are one of mine.
Don’t forget; I am God and can take care of Myself. Just love Me and do what I have told you to do. I’ll take care of all the rest. Check out the list above and get to work; time is short. I’ll help you, but the ball is now in your court.
Have a most blessed Christmas with all those whom you love and remember: I Love You.
JESUS
May The Peace and Strength of the Lord be with You and Yours!
