Gotta get ready for the radio program today at 12:05pm mt on KDAZ AM730, ‘The World We Live In’ You can listen from our website also!
We will have my sermon up on the site this week on the website that I presented in Reserve yesterday, ‘Fear and Life Principles’, Lord Willing it will be up by Tuesday! I will let you know!
Yesterday as I headed to Reserve, New Mexico to preach, I’m like an old time circuit preacher, I love to go to Reserve and any place in rural America! I love my Country, founded by God. It’s about 8 hours in the car, round trip to Reserve and back home to Albuquerque. I think of my Dear departed friend Pastor Marvin Capehart, one of the greatest Pastor’s God ever planted here in New Mexico, who traveled the roads of rural New Mexico for years, filling in for Pastor’s. Marvin’s car was always in need of repair, but Marvin was doing what the Lord called him to do, help encourage and repair souls in the name of Jesus! We are nearing 30,000 miles on the old Chevy this year! Yesterday on the road to Reserve my lovely wife Sharon texted me the words that God had given her to speak into my life: “When you follow your heart and your soul’s purpose there is no need to fear. God is always with you on your journey.” I am blessed to have such a wife. Thank YOU LORD! Sharon sacrifices much in my calling, I love her so much, she is my hero and mentor!
Proverbs 31:10
An excellent wife who can find? She is far more precious than jewels. The heart of her husband trusts in her, and he will have no lack of gain. She does him good, and not harm, all the days of her life. She seeks wool and flax, and works with willing hands. She is like the ships of the merchant; she brings her food from afar.
Yesterday was typical for me……up at 3am to post news and inspiration on FGGAM.ORG and then left around 6:30am got home at 5:30pm.
This Saturday I will be speaking at the Church of Christ Men’s Breakfast in Santa Fe, please keep me in your prayers.
We thank all of you that financially support FGGAM, it just doesn’t happen……..we have many car and traveling expenses, everyday expenses, whether we are reaching New Mexico by car and preaching or the world by our web site, which reaches a half million people a month, radio, YouTube, iTunes, or wherever the Lord has us at the time, we stand on the verse the Lord gave us: “My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus.” Acts 20:24
Whenever I travel, I am sensitive to the Holy Spirit and divine appointments. I have made a friend in Reserve at one of the local gas stations. His name is Mike. I now call him on the phone about once a week to see how he is doing. He is in his mid’20’s and has such a heart for people. He has become a good friend, we encourage each other. I love making new friends.
It is also a blessing in the Lord that when I travel to Reserve I usually get to stop in Magdalena and have coffee with Pastor Paul and his lovely wife Jo and son Phil! Yesterday we had supper together! PRAISE GOD! I also got to see Jo’s Mom and a lovely couple from Paul’s church! Please join us in prayer for all Churches in rural America, the fabric that helps keep rural America alive, that and the local schools, police and fire, post office, stores……it is how America was founded! Rural America is so special, very special!!!! So much of our history is there!
New Mexico is ‘greening up’ from all the rain we have been receiving the last couple of months. I traveled to Reserve yesterday to preach at the Baptist Church and I was so blessed to see so much greening of the area..Greening of the Desert! It has been bone dry. I have never seen the area so green! My friend, Head Deacon Charles McCargish told me that the average precipitation in the Reserve area is 17 inches for a year….this month alone, the area has received 7 inches of rain! PRAISE GOD! The ranchers so much needed this rain for their cattle, the pastures. The area is so beautiful, I know more than ever why the people of Catron County New Mexico love their home so much! I took this picture yesterday outside of Reserve, NM.
He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters. Psalm 23:2
We must always take precautions when heavy rains come, being careful of flash floods: Some areas of New Mexico are having flooding problems, we must pray for the safety of all…..and for the family of the man who drowned…….
Authorities are urging residents of nearly 100 homes in Carlsbad to evacuate early today because of flooding.
The problem stems from the Pecos River that runs through Carlsbad.
Carlsbad and Loving schools will be closed today.
The New Mexico National Guard on Saturday rescued 40 oilfield workers stranded by floodwaters, and a Texas man was found dead near Loving after his vehicle got stuck in water.
