Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ!
We love you all and we are praying for you and yours!
I am sorry the CUP is going out late, Mondays are very busy with the radio program and today was very busy with making ministry calls. It is now 7:37pm…….a few more hours of work then I will hit the hay!
I do know that the Lord wanted the CUP to go out later because of some items HE wanted you to know about and pray over…………This happens every time I am late…God wanted me to be late! His timing, not mine!
Model Jesus…………
Christ Our Role Model: The Christian life, the Christian walk should be characterized by the virtues taught in the Word of God. We have said that love embodies all of these virtues, and that a life of perfect love would necessarily be an entirely virtuous one. Such was the life of our Lord Jesus Christ. During His tenure on this earth, He embodied and exemplified the love of God, and by His own example, facing the same difficulties of life which we face (yet to a far more intense degree, Heb.4:15), He gave us a pattern to model ourselves by, footsteps, by which if we should only follow them, we would be lead by the straight road to a virtuous life well-pleasing to God (1Pet.2:21-25; cf. Matt.16:24; Jn.13:15).From Dr. Robert D. Luginbill
My heart is broken tonight as I got my hometown newspaper and read about the sudden death of 22 year old Kathleen (Katie) Mary Fleming of Worthington, Minnesota. Her Dad, Kevin and I are longtime friends, as we grew up together and worked at the school together back in Windom, Minnesota. Kevin told me this afternoon that Katie was at his house watching Tv and suddenly began to have a seizure and later passed away at the Worthington Hospital of a blood clot to the lung on Sept. 21st. Life is precious, so very precious. I just pray that more and more people will let that soak into their hearts. We pray for Kevin and his wife Pam and Katie’s brother Kyle. Thank the Lord that Kevin and Pam have a great support group at their Church! By the way I have to mention that Katie was a gifted musician. She was active in anything that involved music throughout her school years. Katie’s talents earned her several awards including Music Student of Excellence. Please keep the Fleming family in your prayers. Many of you that read this CUP know Kevin and I know you will be praying for him, his wife Pam and Katie’s brother Kyle. Maybe even give him a call. We love you Kevin, Pam and Kyle.
I was telling our dear friend Kay Lawrence about Katie and Kay shared with me the organization “GriefShare”. Kay has been involved in this organization, receiving great help from them when her husband Tom passed away and then being a leader of a group. The web address is www.griefshare.org Check it out and share it with those grieving the loss of a loved one.
The other item I wanted to share with you is that Sharon stopped at the Albertsons Grocery Store in Rio Rancho on Southern blvd. on the way home and was in line and an elderly lady in front of her at the check out lane was crying. Before Sharon could get to the lady the store manager came and helped the lady out of the line and took her over to an empty check out and went and got her a big bouquet of fresh flowers! The ladies husband had just passed away and the people at the store knew of that and wanted to show their love to her. Sharon walked out of the store with the lady, who appeared to be in her 80’s…….and the lady cried all the way to her car with her flowers saying, “It’s so sweet that these folks would give me flowers!” Here we see the love of God from these folks at Albertsons…….people taking time to show love. Time out of their busy day to show true love. People that actually STOPPED what they were doing to help this lovely lady. What a great store manager and staff! Only if more would show the love of our Lord Jesus Christ.
Every life is precious, every person is dealing with an issue or issues. Model Jesus.
I have a man right now who cannot pay his cell phone bill.
You see we all have an opportunity everyday to minister to others everyday, what a wonderful world it would be if more would catch the fever of Jesus Christ!
We have this prayer need………………………
Tonight I ask for your prayers. Some of you who know me, know that I suffer from anxiety & depression. Had it under control for a long time, but then, it changed. On December 24, 2012, I went to visit my sister’s grave. I didn’t know that I could cry like that…water just poured out of my eyes. I was driving back home and thee worst anxiety attack ever hit me. I pulled over and called my mom. After what seemed to be hours, but actually 15 minutes, I drove home. Since then, I’m terrified. I now pay, yes, pay people to drive me to and from work and anywhere else I have to go. I can’t go on like this. Please pray for me, that I can get my life back and that I can drive myself wherever I need to be. I’m so sorry if this offends anyone…it’s the hidden pain that people don’t see. Thank you, Bernadette Montano in Albuquerque, New Mexico
Please pray for Bernadette, I know her very well, I spoke at Preached at the rosary and funeral for her sister Martha. Martha was a very good friend, she helped me with the Daily Cup for a few years. Martha was such a sweet girl. I was blessed by the Montano family and Father Jerry that they allowed me to Preach! I will be in constant touch with Bernadette.
I also wanted to share with you that we have been praying for Tina in Carl Junction, Missouri……….she passed away yesterday of cancer, just 42 years of age…….every life is precious. Please pray for her husband and two daughters. Thank you Pastor Robert Lewis for letting us know.
Now here is our Quote of the Day at FGGAM.ORG:
Coming to the end of ourselves is a prerequisite for seeing a work of God start. Every other religion is about human effort. Many Christians are under this delusion as well. They do not realize it is not about what we are doing. It is about the work of grace that God wants to do in us through Christ Jesus: “For the law was given through Moses; grace and truth came through Jesus Christ” John 1:17. Pastor Steve Hickey From Sioux Falls, South Dakota who also serves in the South Dakota Legislature. Read his book, “Obtainable Expectations” a timely exposition of the Sermon On The Mount!
I posted this on Sunday…………..
Last night I was awaken by the Holy Spirit to hear a message from God: You must change your mind, you made the wrong decision! When I woke up this morning I confirmed with God as to what I heard Him say last night in prayer. As soon as I reversed my decision. peace and confidence returned! I was not the only one blessed by this reversal. I was not the important one. The Holy Spirit is our messenger and comforter. I PRAISE OUR LORD FOR HIS POWER! I PRAISE MY LORD THAT HE TALKS TO ME! THANK YOU LORD! THANK YOU HOLY SPIRIT! DO YOU HEAR GOD? HE STILL SPEAKS TODAY!
We presume we have made the right decision, but at times God sweeps in and tell’s us, NO! Even after we have sought counsel and prayed. We must remain attentive to God in all things. I have felt such a huge relief and being set free after reversing my decision.
I must add that my wife Sharon and I came together in prayer this morning to confirm this with the Lord. I did not pray with Sharon after making the original decision. Lesson learned, again!
John 8:47 ESV
Whoever is of God hears the words of God. The reason why you do not hear them is that you are not of God.”
Proverbs 2:1-5 ESV
My son, if you receive my words and treasure up my commandments with you, making your ear attentive to wisdom and inclining your heart to understanding; yes, if you call out for insight and raise your voice for understanding, if you seek it like silver and search for it as for hidden treasures, then you will understand the fear of the Lord and find the knowledge of God.
John 10:27-28 ESV
My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me. I give them eternal life, and they will never perish, and no one will snatch them out of my hand.
Mark 4:24 ESV
And he said to them, “Pay attention to what you hear: with the measure you use, it will be measured to you, and still more will be added to you.

Good morning DDC readers and God’s Family! This is Karen Rowe, with Hope in Today Ministries, and I am happy to be joining you again Today! I hope you notice that I am growing in the Lord –even as I know I am not fully grown yet! I thank Jesus for all that He has done that I can join you –and that I am learning in each step He leads!
Before, I deliver the message below, would you like to hear a bit of humbling history of how Hope in Today Ministries began –and how I come to DDC and FGGAM?
My ministry began when I met Jesus; and He has been preparing me ever since! This door of writing for DDC opened (a certain number of years ago), when I prayed “Father, How can I tell a million people what I know about Jesus?” Very Soon, Dewey messaged me and asked me to write for DDC! Humbled in the powerful presence of God who was with me when I read the message –I knew it was the Lord’s door and so did Dewey! Totally surrendered to the LORD in my every weakness –I was not a writer; nor was I trained, but I was equipped with the power of the Holy Spirit to do all things.
I wrote for 5 days that week –then for 2 days a week for some time later! Jesus is my strength each time still today –God is able to use me because I am still surrendered to His Voice and Will. And, how fitting–I just realized: How appropriate in this title today! “Jesus meets us right where we are at; BUT, We don’t stay there!”
I thank God that both of our ministries, FGGAM and Hope in Today, continue to grow in Jesus, because we trust God and follow His Son, Jesus. I pray that together we are also a part of your ministry as you are also growing in yours. It’s all God’s and it’s all God’s plan –This is just our story!
So, it is good to join you again! The Lord has each of you on my heart of prayers.
If you are just visiting today, we welcome you! We hope you find FGGAM, DDC & Hope in Today Ministries, a place to come and enjoy your time in the Lord–because, we are as Dewey wrote in “The Train Whistle”, Co-Laborers for the Lord!
Jesus meets us right where we are at; but when we find Jesus, we meet Jesus where He is at.”
So, the “Word Up” for Today is “Prepare!”
When you hear the “Word Up”: “Prepare,” I hope it reminds you to “Prepare to Move!” Trust God and follow Jesus! God is so awesome! We can try and try and try as we want –but it is God who does the work!!!
God is just waiting on Jesus to see when we are ready! When we want it –the desire God puts on our heart to Come to Jesus, find Him and follow Him!
Jesus is Coming
… Revelation 22:16-17
16“I, Jesus, have sent My angel to testify to you these things for the churches. I am the root and the descendant of David, the bright morning star.” 17The Spirit and the bride say, “Come.” And let the one who hears say, “Come.” And let the one who is thirsty come; let the one who wishes take the water of life without cost.
Isaiah 55:1 “Come, all you who are thirsty, come to the waters; and you who have no money, come, buy and eat! Come, buy wine and milk without money and without cost.
John 4:10
Jesus answered her, “If you knew the gift of God and who it is that asks you for a drink, you would have asked him and he would have given you living water.”
John 4:11
“Sir,” the woman said, “you have nothing to draw with and the well is deep. Where can you get this living water?
Miracles happen when we pray, but only when we pray God’s Word back up to Him –God’s Will!
~ Do you want God’s desire?
It is a process of learning how and why God’s will is important; and good to become aligned with God’s will!
In this process, it is important to know and believe the love God has for you!
–Do you know how valuable you are to God?
Jesus taught in ways that we the people could relate to –Jesus taught so that people could comprehend and understand. Heaven is a prepared place for a prepared people! Word up Today: Prepare!
Prepare for what? Prepare to meet Jesus!
Jesus meets us right where we are at; BUT, We don’t stay there!
Pastor Alston teaches me –through revelation knowledge, as we both are learning from the Lord together! …
Would you like to hear my version of what Pastor Alston shared with me this week? I encourage you to make this parable story your own –as you pray and listen for the voice of the Lord! I hope you will see that there is a difference between “the person” and “the behavior” through this story –and the process of being made holy begins with Jesus; that we are made perfect in Christ!
14 For by one sacrifice he has made perfect forever those who are being made holy (Hebrews 10:14).
When I was a kid, we had a huge old fashioned apple tree in our yard! It produced lots of delicious fresh “straight from the tree” apples! We made apple pies and apple butter and just enjoyed a good old fashioned fruit fresh from the tree!
When cutting into the apples, sometimes you might find a worm in the apple. As gross as that sounds and is to some of us, we didn’t throw that wonderful apple away, we just cut the worm out; and the rest of the apple was still good!
And, so it is with sin in our life! God cuts the sin out, but he doesn’t throw us away!
Kind of just a thought to add for thinking … as the world is changing, but God remains the same:
The world has become somewhat more immune to unrighteousness –as it has also become more tolerate to wasting apples because of a worm. Apples seem to be plentiful in the stores now days –and perfection is polished. But to me, as I reflect on this today, the fruit of the apple is still the point –as the fruit of the Spirit is still our evidence of Jesus in this world that seems to only wonder who Jesus is.
Jesus meets us right where we are at; but when we find Jesus, we meet Jesus where He is at. This is the topic the Lord is allowing me to talk about today.
Jesus meets us right where we are at –but how long do we stay there, before we move?
We stay there until Jesus knows we are ready to move! To be ready, we have to want it –We have to want what God has to offer!
What does God’s Word say?
Matthew 11:28-30
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
Do you want what God has to offer?
Prepare to MOVE!
Does God’s Word tell you to feel guilty and stay put in that guilt? Or, to heal …and move!
Does God’s Word tell you to give up? Or, be courageous … and move!
Does God’s Word tell you can’t change; or can’t do better? Or, let Jesus help you … and move!
Doesn’t God’s Word encourage you to believe, have hope, & to build your character up!
1 Peter 13-16 says: Be Holy
13 Therefore, prepare your minds for action; be self-controlled; set your hope fully on the grace to be given you when Jesus Christ is revealed. 14 As obedient children, do not conform to the evil desires you had when you lived in ignorance. 15 But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do; 16 for it is written: “Be holy, because I am holy.”
So, what is God’s Word saying to you? Pray, Listen, Believe, Trust and Obey.
God loves you –Know He does! Jesus never sinned, but we have …in fact we were born as The Bible tells us so:
Psalm 51:5 (KJV)
5 Behold, I was shapen in iniquity; and in sin did my mother conceive me.
But God didn’t leave us there!!!
Do you believe John 3:16? Do you believe John 3:17?
John 3:16-17 (NIV)
16 For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.
17 For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him.
So, the next time you feel tied to the past, or know someone who is –Remember the power of Patience in the power of God’s Love!!! The next time you feel tied to, or know someone tied to bad habits, remember Jesus will meet you right where you are at –as He will also be the same caring God to another! Just pray; and talk to Jesus! But Prepare, You won’t stay there –and Lord willing with prayer, neither will another God puts in our path, because Jesus will take us to where He is at!
Jesus will move you when you are ready –when you are prepared to move! And, this applies to every soul out there in this world who will believe! Patience is a powerful word of strength … that equips us to pray the powerful prayers in the love of God trusting on Jesus!
Prepare to move!
Jesus Saves!
I hope this is a blessing to you! Next time, we will talk about What a Friend we have in Jesus –and perhaps talk about how the Lord reveals to us what unrighteousness is.
PS: Always remember to listen for the Lord’s voice to you in the Lord’s Prayer; and pray every day that you need Jesus J

A love letter from God to you, by Karen Rowe October 2, 2014
If I could write a love letter from God, I would tell you who you are!
Oh, wait, God already did that!
You are wonderfully and fearfully made!
God loves you with a passion that He sees you as a pearl!
A treasure some may relate to –but with a love no man can compare!
Jesus said, Father, I will do it –I will save them all! If you just give me a body, I will save them all!
Bullying must stop –because it offends God most of all! In HIS image and by HIS hand –who has the right to slap condemnation on their hand?
Just saying, God loves, Jesus saves and you are wonderfully made!
OH and a bit farther? Are you ready for this?
You are near Perfection –not far from perfect!!!
Come to Jesus and live!
And then strive to live in His Reflection. Jesus is your Righteousness!
Love in Christ,
Karen Rowe

I found this from Prodigal Magazine March 10, 2009………….SOLID!
Editor’s Note: This article is apart of content that was published from 2005-2010 under the direction of Jason Wenell. In March 2012 Darrell and Allison Vesterfelt became the new owners of Prodigal Magazine. Check out the new vision and direction of the publication.
Many men praise their wives from time to time but how selfish is that praise? Are you thankful for your wife because of all the ways that she blesses you? Are you thankful for her beauty; her home cooked meals; her funny jokes or those special times alone. It is important to be grateful for all her blessings but is that really a spirit of thankfulness?
The Bible says in 1 Thessalonians 5:18, “…give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.” It does not say be thankful in all good and comfortable circumstances. If we apply this to our marriages then it means be thankful for our wives at all times. Are you thankful for your wife when she is sick? … When she is unattractive? …when she is depressed? … When she is disabled? …When she is struggling with mental illness? …When she does not want you to touch her? …When she is struggling with her weight?
I heard a story about an awful auto accident that left a young wife very disabled. While she was still in the hospital rehab she received divorce papers from her husband. His only explanation was that “he did not marry her for this.” It’s easy to get angry at this selfish punk but have we ever lapsed into self-pity just because the house needs cleaning.
Think of the worst day in your married life and asked yourself if you expressed thanks in the middle of that dark moment. Did you complain? Do you blame? Do you get mad at God and ask him how He could hate you so much? Thankfulness is truly real when expressed in the debts of pain and trail.
I believe that the spiritual discipline of thankfulness is rooted in a holy belief that circumstances do not dictate God’s blessing. We live in a day of very shallow faith. We ask God to bless us with things and whine when he does not pay our credit card bill.
1 Timothy 6:6, “But godliness with contentment is great gain.”
She is God’s gift and all of His gifts are very good. However, she is not God’s gift to make you happy or comfortable. In this modern age “materialism” is one of the great enemies of marriage. It causes couples to buy homes way beyond their means or to get into debt instead of waiting for God to provide. It also causes men to view their wives in a dehumanizing “value” context. I love her because she makes me happy, she cleans the house, she cooks great and I’m attracted to her. The suffocating weight of this type of entitlement love has destroyed many marriages. Selfishness is the soul cancer that kills love with criticism, disapproval and condemnation, when a man’s shallow expectations of his wife are not fulfilled.
We need to see our wife as God’s child. We need to love her with a holy love that accepts her as God made her. Selfishness is the enemy of genuine love and wise is the man that hates every hint of his selfish core.
“In 1636, amid the darkness of the Thirty Years’ War, a German pastor, Martin Rinkart, is said to have buried five thousand of his parishioners in one year, an average of fifteen a day. His parish was ravaged by war, death, and economic disaster. In the heart of that darkness, with the cries of fear outside his window, he sat down and wrote this table grace for his children:
“Now thank we all our God
With heart and hands and voices;
Who wondrous things hath done,
In whom his world rejoices.
Who, from our mother’s arms,
Hath led us on our way
With countless gifts of love
And still is ours today.”
Here was a man who knew thanksgiving comes from love of God, not from outward circumstances.”
So are you really thankful for your wife? Is she a gift from God? Do you praise God for her strengths and express equal thankfulness for her weaknesses? Is your contentment with her based on circumstances of a changing life or is there a deep abiding gratitude to God for the special gift God gave you in your wife.
“You can bear your own faults, and why not a fault in your wife?”- Benjamin Franklin
“He is well paid that is well satisfied.”- William Shakespeare
“Christians can be and ought to be content with the simple necessities of life…First, when you have God near you and for you, you don’t need extra money or extra things to give you peace and security…God is always better than gold…Second, we can be content with the simplicity because the deepest, most satisfying delights God gives us through creation are free gifts from nature and from loving relationships with people. After your basic needs are met, accumulated money begins to diminish your capacity for these pleasures rather than increase them. Buying things contributes absolutely nothing to the heart’s capacity for joy…Third, we should be content with the simple necessities of life because we could invest the extra we make for what really counts (God’s kingdom) —John Piper from Desiring God, 1996, P. 102-103, Used by Permission,

I am reposting this in the CUP from Feb. 18th of this year………I talked to Tom Lester again last night. He now is 76 years old. Please keep him in your prayers! He has spent many a day out preaching on our Lord Jesus Christ. Tom stressed to me yesterday keep bringing them Jesus, keep bringing people to Jesus, it’s all about Jesus! I am thankful that I met Tom years ago, I am thankful for our relationship. Tom is one who has served so many people over the years, he is a good old Baptist boy! He at one time traveled with Billy Graham! He said Billy never preached without mentioning the blood of Jesus, sin, hell, forgiveness and heaven. Too many preachers are afraid to preach on that these days. Please pray for good health for Tom! In Jesus name, Amen!
Last night I called my Dear friend Tom Lester, who played Eb, on Green Acres. I phoned him when I heard the news of Mary Grace passing away. Tom had not heard the news. He says that Mary Grace was a very lovely person. Tom is now the last living cast member of the TV series ‘Green Acres’ If you are not familiar with Ton Lester, he stands strong for God and still speaks at Churches! We are certainly seeing so many of are old time TV favorites pass away. Love Green Acres! Today’s TV is like night and day from what I grew up with…….profanity and sex. By the way Tom used to travel with Billy Graham years ago! I have been blessed by my friendship with Tom over the years and have had him as my radio guest a couple of times!
