Dewey's Daily Cup

Pastor Leonard Navarre of Valley View Christian Church in Edgewood, NM gives us this report of the accident today at Valley View involving Lead Pastor Brandon Shaffer:
Brandon & the Rental guy where trying to tilt it back ( a scissor ladder, like the one pictured) to make it smaller to go
in thru the church entrance doors! They were going to use the back of the wheels
like a Two wheel dolly” when they lost control & it fell backwards onto Brandon!
He has a bruised chest and two broken shin bones. The little shin bone right
below the knee & the main shin bone right above the ankle. This break is called a
” spiral break” meaning it broke around the bone & not across the bone. He is
most upset about having to watch the K.C. Royals tonight from a hospital bed!
LOL
No one else was injured. Brandon is to undergo surgery tonight to repair the breaks.
We are Praising God for Brandon’s life, his protection from death, he could have been hit in the head! This is truly a miracle of God!

Dear Heavenly Father, through Jesus the Christ, I would just like to pray for Dewey’s Daily Cup Family that you will open up their understanding of your knowledge in the way you are delivering your knowledge. In Jesus Name. Amen.

Will you take this journey with me through God’s Word?

The Christian gains victory by putting off the old nature and putting on the new nature, which is in Christ Jesus.
When you starve the old human nature as you have; and accept the new spiritual nature of Christ –you are beginning to build Christ into the character and integrity of who you are, and whom you were made by God to be! Feed on your new nature, which is the spiritual nature of Christ. Learn God’s message to you daily in the Word of God and apply your understanding of God’s will for you though His Holy Word and by His Holy Spirit.
Now, let’s go to the Word of God and learn more about how to walk in the Holy Spirit! Oh, listeners how wonderful it is to let God guide you through His Word!

Will you open up your Bible with me to learn God’s Word?
Galatians 5:16 says:
Keep in Step with the Spirit
16 But I say, walk by the Spirit, and you will not gratify the desires of the flesh.
Galatians 5:17 teaches:
17 For the desires of the flesh are against the Spirit, and the desires of the Spirit are against the flesh, for these are opposed to each other, to keep you from doing the things you want to do.
Romans 7:18
18 For I know that nothing good dwells in me, that is, in my flesh. For I have the desire to do what is right, but not the ability to carry it out.
Jesus is our ability to say no to sin!
Father, we thank you for the revelation knowledge that you have given for DDC family; and we pray for Dewey and every reader here today. We pray that you will enable them to grow in your knowledge and make them strong; and we pray that they will continue to grow in your knowledge and fulfill the purpose you have for them. We ask you Father in Jesus Name. Amen.

Brother Dewey,
Bob and I went to see the movie “A Matter of Faith” on Saturday. It centers around a young college girl brought up in the faith who is blinded by a Biology college professor teaching evolution. It’s remarkable how quickly she begins to believe the professor could have a point since she comes from a Godly home. When the college student’s dad agrees to debate the professor, she does all she can to get him to back off. How many times may we be tempted to back off. Our Lord and Savior didn’t back off. When it would have been much easier to say “I’m not going to endure this suffering for the world”, He stood strong and stretched out His sinless hands and died for us. As conversation began about the movie in Sunday School one of our attendees made the statement he believed the egg came first. Scripture in Genesis Chapter 1 verses 24 and 25 we see this, 24And God said, Let the earth bring forth the living creature after his kind, cattle, and creeping thing, and beast of the earth after his kind: and it was so. “And God made the beast of the earth after his kind, and cattle after their kind, and every thing that creepeth upon the earth after his kind: and God saw that it was good.” We cannot turn away from our faith and our beliefs. If we are able to speak we need to share creation with the world.

We have a praery need here and a praise report on Kathy Merlock, Pastor Dewey’s neighbor! Kathy was rushed by ambulance to the Heart Hospital in Albuquerque yesterday for a suspected heart problem, but her heart turned out to be excellent! The discomfort in the area is not her heart. Kathy will be seeing a specialist about this. Her husband Norm wants us to all PRAISE GOD on the excellent report on Kathy’s heart! PS WE ALL KNOW KATHY HAS AN AWESOME HEART!!! Please keep her in your prayers and healing from the discomfort! In Jesus name, Amen!

Today I want to share a bit with you on “A Man Who Walked With God”
I want to thank Wanell Pate for introducing me to Smith Wigglesworth years ago, WOW!
Yesterday was at times a tough day in ministry, but later in the day Paul Dokken called from South Dakota to say hi, and he told me, “Dewey you are a Spirit led man” WOW Those are the words I needed yesterday after counseling a few folks that got upset with me for saying the truth. Encouragement that I needed at that time! Thank you brother Paul. I try to doing everything I do in the Spirit. Sometimes as you know, some people just want you to agree with them, even when they are asking you for advice and are way off on the ways of God. If you looking for a Pastor who will just agree with you, I am not your cup of tea. It is a sin not to speak the truth into people. I try to do everything in Love, we are commanded so, but love is also holding each other accountable in a loving way. Listen to my latest sermon on LOVE:

Paul’s message brought one of my favorite verses to mind:Kind words are like honey sweet to the soul and healthy for the body. Proverbs 16:24
Smith Wigglesworth was born in 1859 in Menston, a small Yorkshire village in England. His works are still alive today! Some say he is touching more lives than he ever did when he was on earth! That is saying a lot for this simple man of God who traveled much and ministered to thousands and thousands. At 8 years old Wigglesworth accepted Jesus Christ. He said, “Suddenly I saw Jesus had died for me. Suddenly I reralized that He had borne my sins. I lifted my heart to Him, and I knew that I was born again.”
Then he could sing with as much abandon as any Wesleyan Methodist! There in that little mission hall, he got a revelation for the rest of his life, he used the words of his revelation, only believe, over and over in his messages. ONLY BELIEVE! In this post I have included a picture of my Bible that has my life verse on it, My life is worth nothing unless I use it for doing the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus. Acts 20:24. I preach it and preach it, but I also want people to see Jesus!
Wigglesworth awoke one morning while he was staying at another Pastor’s house and said, “God spoke to me on your bed.” His Pastor friend said, “What did He say?’ Wigglesworth replied with tears streaming down his face, ” I am going to burn you all up, until there is no more Wigglesworth, only Jesus.”
I pray the same happens to you and me! Amen!
Wigglesworth lived so that people would only see Jesus.!
Only if the world that HE created would do so.
That is how I am trying to live my life, I fail many times, yes I do.
Do yourself a favor, order any Wigglesworth book, I order on Amazon, it will inspire you to be more like Jesus Christ.
In everything we do here at FGGAM, we try to do it in a loving way…….God directed me years ago to my life scripture, My life is worth nothing unless I use it for the work assigned me by the Lord Jesus. Acts 20:24, see I told you I preach it a lot! Do you know what work He has assigned you? For God’s Glory Alone.
Now you must listen to this program of 25 minutes, there is nothing on the radio in New Mexico and many states in the United States, like it! We do it, as God told us to do! Praise God!
