Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,

Jesus wept. John 11:35

I believe we need to reflect more on that verse everyday. Yesterday at Christ Full Deliverance Ministries in Rio Rancho where Pastor Marty Cooper resides with his lovely wife Paulette and Sister Mable Lopez. I Preached on that.

We need to Preach more on the fact that our Jesus lived on earth for 33 years, He knows our pain here on earth, it is so AWESOME what our Father gave us! His son came for us! God knows all, all of heaven is weeping as to what America has become! As a nation we do not respect life, if we did there simply would not be abortion. We are not taking care of God’s children like we are called to do. Our nation is divided more than ever. God keeps hanging onto America, that we will return to Him as a nation. Will we?

We all need to make the Biblical account of the Christmas story the centerpiece of our Christmas celebration.

This past Sunday I Preached after one of the worst tragedies in American History…..the shootings in Connecticut.

News organizations promised to get the details, get the reason……

Headlines across our nation screamed….”WE JUST DON’T HAVE ANY ANSWERS”

“MASSACRE LEAVES MANY QUESTIONS”

This is the world we live in…….people looking for answers in the midst of the awful tragedy.

Looking for answers in all the wrong places.

The headline we need to look at this time of year and absorb is this……….the real answer is in our Savior, our Lord Jesus Christ………He is the answer…….

A Virgin Conceives

26-28 In the sixth month of Elizabeth’s pregnancy, God sent the angel Gabriel to the Galilean village of Nazareth to a virgin engaged to be married to a man descended from David. His name was Joseph, and the virgin’s name, Mary. Upon entering, Gabriel greeted her:

Good morning!
You’re beautiful with God’s beauty,
Beautiful inside and out!
God be with you.

29-33 She was thoroughly shaken, wondering what was behind a greeting like that. But the angel assured her, “Mary, you have nothing to fear. God has a surprise for you: You will become pregnant and give birth to a son and call his name Jesus.

He will be great,
be called ‘Son of the Highest.’
The Lord God will give him
the throne of his father David;
He will rule Jacob’s house forever—
no end, ever, to his kingdom.”

34 Mary said to the angel, “But how? I’ve never slept with a man.”
35 The angel answered,

The Holy Spirit will come upon you,
the power of the Highest hover over you;
Therefore, the child you bring to birth
will be called Holy, Son of God.

This is the World we live in:

65% of Christians do not believe in Hell and 60% do not believe in the Holy Spirit.

Research shows that only 20% of America goes to Church on Sunday.

Studies from established evangelical polling organizations — LifeWay Research, an affiliate of the Southern Baptist Convention, and the Barna Group — have found that a majority of young people raised as evangelicals are quitting church, and often the faith, entirely.

My daddy always taught me, it’s up to you son……..

It is up to you and me to be Salt and Light to the World and Carry out the Great Commission and occupy until the Lord returns. Revival starts in our homes. Then we bring revival to the Church and all parts of the Country. It is up to us to serve our Lord wherever we are at. We must be the ones to spread the good news of our Lord Jesus Christ. I believe that the Lord is calling many of us out of our comfort zones to spread the good news in a lost world. It is a bitter pill to swallow but many Christian leaders are saying, Christians are now a minority in America. This is our own fault. We have allowed the watering down of the Gospel, we have allowed the Church to be in many ways insignificant to the majority of Americans, too many look at the Church as just as a bunch of angry people.

The Church in America is at it’s most vital point in it’s history, the country is on a “Moral Cliff” it’s not a fiscal cliff, it’s a “Moral Cliff”….the American church is also in a crises, let us pray and seek repentance from our Lord Jesus Christ and be Salt and Light (Matt 5 13-16) let us carry out the Great Commission (Matt 28: 16-20) Let us occupy until He returns (Luke 19:13)

It is time for all Christians to pray over the above verses and apply them to our lives.

The good news is that there are many Churches out there doing a great work for our Lord and raising up our youth! Many churches are doing baptisms every Sunday. Many are welcoming people that had left the Church, back in. Many churches are feeding the hungry and homeless. Many Churches are going out beyond their walls. Bold Pastor’s are needed. Many are showing the love of our Lord Jesus Christ out in the world we live in, without watering down the Gospel. We just cannot afford to “play” church anymore.

You can sit and complain if you want, but the Lord has given us the mission, it’s all in His Word, let us get to work!

One of my old preachers dads used to say to me, “Joe, be sure when the sheep gather on Sundays that you feed them and not shear them. It is only once a year that sheep need to be sheared, but they need to be fed each time they come to the trough. By the way, aren’t feed troughs and mangers the same thing?

The Food I give you this day is the Lord commands to be Salt and Light, carrying out the Great Commission and Occupy until He returns, and do not waver from His written word, do not turn to the left or the right, keep focused on the eye’s of Jesus Christ!

December 14, 2012. You have been thinking, thinking and thinking. This is monotonous and tiresome. It usually ends in frustration because it is flesh and world based. Little comes from it because you should be spending that time in prayer. That same amount of time in prayer will be blessed and rewarded. Set your mind on things above. Think on My promises to you throughout Scripture. Pray about the beauty and blessings of your eternal home in Heaven. Pray about joining in with all the praises in Heaven at the altar and presence of the Lord. Rejoice that you will have a new body and will be part of Jesus’ reigning on the earth and defeating the devil and all his demons. Fill your mouth and mind with thankfulness. It is a great day, every day. Rejoice and be glad.

A Love Like that

In the first book of the New Testament, in the first chapter of that book, verse 18 Matthew writes “Now the birth of Jesus Christ was on this wise:” and so begins the greatest story ever told, the story of the redemption, preceded by the genealogy and cast of characters who were privileged to play a role in the life of Christ. My Pastor preached on those characters Sunday and the unlikely lot of descendants who God chose to name in the lineage of His Only begotten Son. Liars, murderers, prostitutes and other unseemly individuals, much like those of us on this side of redemption, none worthy of being mentioned in the bloodline of Christ, but people of purpose, who despite their background and poor decision making skills, God listed their names among His family. Wow! I could stop right there and be blessed just thinking about a God Who loves me like that.

Unconditionally

John 3:16~ For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
The “whosoever’s”: It doesn’t matter what family we’re born into, how we’ve lived our lives, or what we’ve done, God sent His Son into this world to save whosoever would accept Him. The feelings of unworthiness come from Satan, not Christ. There in the lineage of Christ Himself are people who undoubtedly made mistakes but by the blood of Jesus were counted worthy to be mentioned in greatness. You too are mentioned in greatness, not as a descendant but as a child of the King!

Unconventionally

1 Peter 3:4
But let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
Up until this point the religious leaders of the day, the Jews were in charge of spiritual matters. But on this day the oracles (visions) of God weren’t wrapped up in religion, it became about the relationship between God and man as it was in the beginning. Just as God spoke to Adam and Eve in the garden, He would now directly speak to the heart of man. That was unconventional in the eyes of the Priests. That meant that everyone else was just like them… that wouldn’t work! This event took them out of the positions of greatness and religious people like “greatness.” It’s not conventional (controllable) if everyone is in charge of their own relationship with God.

Uncommon

Acts 11:9
But the voice answered me again from heaven, What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.
I view this as the first use of PowerPoint in the Bible. Peter was up on the roof when a large sheet (screen) was dropped down from Heaven and God revealed to him that what religion had deemed unfit to eat was no longer the case. For God had freed them through the sacrifice of Christ from the religious laws of the day. God closed His conversation out, after telling it to Peter three times with the words “What God hath cleansed, that call not thou common.” We’re not like everyone else. Everything and everyone has purpose in Christ. We are unique vessels, chosen by God and designed with a purpose for bringing glory to the Creator of the Universe. Call me not “Common.” I am great. Not on my own, but in Christ alone.
Does that not put a shout on you today? Boy it did me! God has a purpose for me and I’m passionate about it. If you are a child of the King, you are an uncommon vessel with a purpose that only you can fulfill. Don’t miss out on it today!

PLANTING, WATERING OR HARVESTING? WHAT’S YOUR ROLE TODAY?

Chinese bamboo is fascinating. To grow Chinese bamboo, you first plant a seed. Then you water and fertilize it. At the end of the first year, nothing happens. During the second year, those nurturing the bamboo seeds continue to water and fertilize the soil, but still nothing happens. The third year, they water and fertilize the soil

, with the same results. This pattern continues through the fourth year. It’s not until the fifth year that, sometime during the ongoing watering and fertilizing process, a shoot of bamboo will pierce the soil. In just six weeks, a Chinese bamboo tree will grow to nearly ninety feet tall.

My grandmother died at 105 years of age. In all those years she lived she was adamantly against becoming a Christian. If someone brought up the subject, she’d quickly change it. But one day while visiting my family in Oregon, the Lord told me, ‘Today is the day of salvation for your grandmother.’ Obediently, I went to the elderly home to see my grandmother and I had the pleasure of leading her to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ that day. She shared with me that day that when she was a child she used to listen to Billy Graham on the radio. In the days and weeks that followed she talked openly of Jesus, and when she died we all knew she was with her King.

After my Grandma had prayed to receive Jesus as her Savior, I asked her why she’d always resisted Him. She put her head down in shame and answered, “I never thought I was good enough to deserve Him.” I happily explained to her that none of us deserve salvation, but it was Jesus’ perfect sacrifice that makes it possible for us to become children of God.

My Grandmother was like that Chinese bamboo. Billy Graham’s radio program planted seeds (among others I’m sure), and other’s watered or fertilized it, the Lord shone the Son on that seed, and I had the pleasure of harvest – after 105 years of care!

We never know what seeds have been planted before us, but one thing is sure, we are all called to participate in the process in the lives of other people through prayer, witness, sharing, and yes, harvesting. Sometimes we just focus on the harvest, but the care of the seed is just as important, if not more important.

***On a side note, whenever I tell people that my Grandmother died at 105 years of age, I inevitably get asked, “What did she die from?” Since sarcasm runs through my veins like blood, I can’t help but say something like, “Well, she was down at Mardi Gra collecting beads to hang around the mirror of her Corvette when….She died of old age for Pete’s sake!” What would you say to that question?

The Lord showed me much yesterday and this morning as I prepared this CUP for you, this CUP I know if you drink of this CUP it will strengthen your faith! AMEN!

We put out an URGENT PRAYER on Facebook yesterday (Please friend us on Facebook) Beth was in very serious condition….we prayed and then later this report came in…………

Michael Holland Further update on Beth….the doctors are calling it a MIRACLE! Tonight Beth is walking, talking and laughing, and was sitting in a chair eating potato chips for a snack! Thank you all so much for praying……It is exciting to see the body of Christ come together! We continue to stand with you Dewey for Gretchen’s healing as well!

PRAISE GOD!!!!!

A few years ago Dr. Kyle Martin of Time To Revive suggested a book to me, “Celebration of Discipline” by Richard J. Foster. When I read the book, I shared some if it with you all and received great feedback. When Michael sent that reply yesterday on the healing of Beth, I remember what Foster wrote about prayer……..as we continue to pray for Beth and family, for the results of Gretchen’s blood tests, she is wore down from finals and just beat, pray for a job for Rick, for Sammy to be free of bondage, and as we pray for Jolene and her cancer surgery. We also pray for Paul Lavoie’s 87 year old Father, Fernand who is in critical condition. You all, have prayer concerns this day I know.

We will be getting a good report on Gretchen……we have a PRAISE NOTE also, I have been enjoying conversations the last several days with my brother Daryl. I thank Paul and Rene Dokken for helping on this. We are so thankful for their love.

Here’s what I shared a few years ago about prayer from Foster’s book……….

Paul gladly announces that we are “co-laborers with God”. That is we are working with God to determine the outcome of events (! Cor 3:9) It is Stoicism that demands a closed universe not the Bible.

Let’s look at 1 Cor 3:9 which says.For we are fellow workmen (joint promoters, laborers together) with and for God: you are God’s garden and vineyard and field under cultivation, (you are) God’s building.

One more verse here Isaiah 61:3……stick with me on all this please..this is very exciting!!!!

To grant (consolation and joy) to those who mourn Zion—-to give them an ornament (a garland or diadem) of beauty instead of ashes, the oil of joy instead of mourning, the garment (expressive) of praise instead of a heavy, burdened, and failing spirit—-that they may be called oaks of righteousness (lofty, strong, and magnificent, and right standing with God), the planting of the Lord, that He may be glorified.

Okay let’s look at Epictetus and Stoicism……..

Epictetus (pronounced Epic-TEE-tus) was an exponent of Stoicismwho flourished in the early second century C.E. about four hundred years after the Stoic school of Zeno of Citium was established in Athens. He lived and worked, first as a student in Rome, and then as a teacher with his own school in Nicopolis in Greece. Our knowledge of his philosophy and his method as a teacher comes to us via two works composed by his student Arrian, the Discourses and the Handbook. Although Epictetus based his teaching on the works of the early Stoics (none of which survives) which dealt with the three branches of Stoic thought, logic, physics and ethics, the Discourses and theHandbook concentrate almost exclusively on ethics. The role of the Stoic teacher was to encourage his students to live the philosophic life, whose end was eudaimonia (‘happiness’ or ‘flourishing’), to be secured by living the life of reason, which – for Stoics – meant living virtuously and living ‘according to nature’.

Foster writes that people who emphasize acquiescence and resignation to the way things are as the “will of God” are actually closer to Epictetus than to Jesus Christ. Moses prayed boldly because he beleived his prayers could change things, even God’s mind. In fact, the Bible stresses so forcefully the openess of our universe that, in an anthropomorphism hard for modern ears, it speaks of God constantly changing His mind in accord with His unchanging love. (read Exod. 32:14 and Jon. 3:10)

This comes as a genuine liberation to many of us, but it also sets tremendous responsibility before us. We are working with God to determine the future! certain things will happen in history if we pray rightly ( I add here and we repent) We are to change the world by prayer. What more motivation do we need to learn this loftiest human exercise?

I strongly suggest you read this book along with Andrew Murray’s classic, “With Christ in the School of Prayer”

I was telling Sammy yesterday, who I am counseling, that the Word of God is the Bread of Life. When we read God’s Word it feeds us to greater heights in our relationship with Him. We become so tuned into God that when we also read the works of people like Foster and Murray, people who God has ordained to write for Him, it is helps lead us to a DEEPER, VERY DEEPER relationship with our Lord.

The Lord uses others to help us grow DEEP in Him.

Yesterday as I sat in my prayer chair, The Lord showed me much as I read His Word…….He fed me, gave me knowledge as I sat in my chair.

The Lord led me to this writing of Paul in Philippians 3:13……Brothers, I do not consider myself yet to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.

Those are the words that God led me to yesterday. He also showed me this plain and simple: The darkness does not Believe in Him and does not read the Bible……the “Nothing Noise” get’s their learning from “Nothing” From “things” of this world. Make sure you are into God’s Word and prayer more than ever. Make sure you and your family know the difference., between what is of God and what is of this world……..so that when you pray, you know you are a co-laborer with God.

Sven and Ole, two Minnesota engineers were standing at the base of a flagpole, looking up. A woman walks by asks what they were doing.
“Ve’re supposed to find da height of dis flagpole, “said Sven, “but ve don’t haff a ladder.”
The woman took a wrench from her purse, loosened a couple of bolts, and laid the pole down on the ground.
Then she took a tape measure from her pocketbook, took a measurement, announced, “Twenty one feet, six inches,” and walked away.
Ole shook his head and laughed. “Ain’t dat just like a voman! Ve ask fer da height and she gives us da length!”
Sven and Ole have since quit their engineering jobs and are currently serving in the United States Senate.

One more FUNNY BONE for your weekend……..

A Pastor went to his church office on Monday morning and discovered a
dead mule in the church yard. He called the police. Since there did not
…

appear to be any foul play, the police referred the pastor to the health

department.

They said since there was no health threat that he should call the

sanitation department. The manager said he could not pick up the mule

without authorization from the mayor.

Now the pastor knew the mayor and was not to eager to call him. The

mayor had a bad temper and was generally hard to deal with, but the

pastor called him anyway.

The mayor did not disappoint him. He immediately began to rant and rave at

the pastor and finally said, Why did you call me any way? Isnt it your

job to bury the dead?

The pastor paused for a brief prayer and asked the Lord to direct his

response. Then, he replied Yes, Mayor, it is my job to bury the dead,

but I always like to notify the next of kin first!

The following touched my heart so very much! Very, very much! I found it through Pastor John Piper. This is written by Steve Fuller, Lead Pastor at Mercy Hill Church in San Jose.

Maybe you have longed for healing, for a job or for a baby or for a wife. You have faithfully and earnestly prayed for weeks and months — even years. But you are still sick, still unemployed, still childless, still single.
And you are disappointed. In fact, you are disappointed by God.

I Can Relate

For many years my wife and I longed for pregnancy. We longed and prayed. And longed and prayed some more. Couples we knew got pregnant — but we did not. And we felt deep disappointment.
But God’s Word calls us to live by faith. And faith means trusting all that God promises to be for us in Christ Jesus.
So then, what does God promise when we are disappointed?

Lack No Good Thing

One promise that’s helped me over the years is Psalm 34:10, “The young lions suffer want and hunger; but those who seek the Lord lack no good thing.” This promise is for those who seek the Lord — those who are saved by faith in Christ and are seeking to know God.
And God promises that those who seek him will lack no good thing. Which means, if something is good, God will give it to you.
Now that’s hard to swallow.
After all, you are still sick, unemployed, childless, single.
So how is God fulfilling his promise to you?

The Greatest Good

What helped me understand this was to ask: What is the greatest good?
Here’s what David said –

I say to the Lord, “You are my Lord; I have no good apart from you.” (Psalm 16:2)

And Asaph –

Whom have I in heaven but You? And besides You I desire nothing on earth.(Psalm 73:25)

And Paul –

Indeed, I count everything as loss because of the surpassing worth of knowing Christ Jesus my Lord. (Philippians 3:8)

So the greatest good is God himself — knowing God in the person of Jesus Christ.
This is not just knowing about God. This is actually knowing God. This means to feel his glory, sense his love, experience his presence. When we experience God in this way, we are so full that we desire nothing else. God is the only all-satisfying good, which is why he is the greatest good.

What Makes Something Good

So what does God mean when he promises we will lack no good thing?
Healing can be good, but so can lack of healing.
If God is our greatest good, then what makes something good is whether it brings us more of God. So being healed of a sickness can be good since it can bring us more of God by showing us his power, mercy, and goodness. But not being healed can also be good since it, too, can bring us more of God by bringing us even more nearness to him.
That’s what Paul experienced with his thorn in the flesh –

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly of my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest upon me. (2 Corinthians 12:9)

So if God chooses not to heal me, it’s because sickness will bring me even more of his all-satisfying presence than healing would have brought me. In that case, even though I’m lacking healing, I’m not lacking any good thing — because the sickness is how I will experience the most joy in God.
Since God is my all-satisfying Treasure then what makes something good is whether it brings me more of God.
So when God promises that we will lack no good thing, he means we will lack nothing that would bring us more of God and we will have everything that would bring us more of God.
So if you lack healing, or a job, or children, or a wife, you are not lacking any good thing because God has ordained this to bring you more of himself.

Why Am I Disappointed?

When I feel disappointed by God it’s because at that moment there’s something I’m longing for more than him, whether it be healing, employment, a child, a wife. As good as healing, employment, children, and marriage are, none of them will come close to satisfying me as much as God himself will.
So when I’m disappointed by God there’s a problem with my faith. I’m not trusting that God himself is who he says he is for me in Jesus. I’m not trusting him as my all-satisfying Treasure.
So what can I do?

Help to Overcome Disappointment

Here are steps I have found helpful –

• Come to Jesus Christ with your disappointment, trusting him to meet you and change your heart (Psalm 40:1–3).
• Confess that you are longing for something else more than him. Ask him to forgive you through the Cross. Receive assurance of complete forgiveness (1 John 1:9).
• Plead for the work of the Spirit to change your heart, strengthen your faith, enable you once again to experience Jesus Christ as your all-satisfying Treasure (John 6:35).
• Since the Spirit does his work through the Word, find Scriptures describing God’s love, power, and majesty — and promises concerning God as your all-satisfying Treasure. Pray earnestly over these Scriptures. Fight to trust them (Galatians 3:5).
• Continue praying over and trusting these Scriptures until you feel the Spirit changing your heart and you once again experience Jesus Christ as your all-satisfying Treasure (1 Peter 1:8).
• Pray over God’s promise that he will ordain every trial to bring you even more heart-satisfaction in him (2 Corinthians 4:17). Do this until the Spirit strengthens your faith that whatever you lack will bring you even more of God.
• Also pray over God’s promise that he will take care of everything else you need (health, work, money) in such a way that it will bring you even more of him (Philippians 4:13, 19;Matthew 6:33).
• Continue to pray for the other things you desire (healing, employment, children, marriage), but fight to keep trusting Jesus as your all-satisfying Treasure (Psalm 43:4).

The Most Precious Gift to Give this Season

At a recent conference that I spoke at another speaker, Denise Stewart, made one of “those” statements that I did not forget. It’s the kind of quote I always hope that I make when I speak; words that will get stuck in their craw as we country folk so eloquently say. Something I continually struggle with is knowing and understanding the will of God for my life. I so desire to be there but always question “am I?” Denise, a beautiful, humble woman of God so simply stated a truth it set me back in my seat thinking, “Wow, why didn’t I think of that?” Simply this
“To know you are in the will of God; obey every day.”
That’s it? Yes, that’s it. If every day we simply listen to the Holy Spirit and follow His direction, we are in the will of God. It’s so simple, it’s crazy! In my study of the Character’s of Christmas, I discovered one commonality among them; obedience. It is for certain the reason God used them in such a mighty way. They were ordinary people; nothing about them would put any one of them on a higher plane than us. God used them because they were willing, unquestioning vessels of mercy and grace, each given the opportunity to carry the gospel.

Obey in Awe

Luke 1: 38 And Mary said, Behold the handmaid of the Lord; be it unto me according to thy word.
When the angel of the Lord told Mary of the Lord’s plan, Mary said “let it be!” She understood the coming days of ridicule and persecution. And yet she willingly went forth,- believing that if God could place a child inside her womb, He could certainly take care of the folks on the outside of her! That is the mindset that we need to accomplish spiritually be used of God. God has a purpose, and if He has chosen you for that purpose, nobody can stand in your path to completion so long as you are obeying the Holy Spirit.

Obey in Astonishment

Matthew 1:24 Then Joseph being raised from sleep did as the angel of the Lord had bidden him, and took unto him his wife:
I don’t know how astonished Joseph was when the angel of the Lord had spoken to him, but I know how astonished I’d be! I’d have probably had to change the sheets before I could do the Lord’s bidding. Joseph rose up from his sleep and obeyed. Can I tell you that much of the church needs to have the pants scared off of them by an angel or two? It’s high time we awake and obey what the Holy Spirit is doing in our lives. I know I’m not the only one who feels an urgency to share the Word of God and get as many people under the blood of Jesus as we can, starting with family and moving out in the world from there.
Obey in Adoration
Luke 2: 15 And it came to pass, as the angels were gone away from them into heaven, the shepherds said one to another, Let us now go even unto Bethlehem, and see this thing which is come to pass, which the Lord hath made known unto us.
The shepherds were the lowliest in the neighborhood, the outcasts of society when a heavenly host brought them the news that the Savior was born. They didn’t come to the religious or the political leaders of the day; they came to the willing commoners. It is no wonder they proclaimed it the “Good News!” Nobody in the neighborhood would have ever thought that the Lord would send His messengers to stinky, dirty shepherds in the field. It is a truth when I tell you that I’m shocked that God would use me to share the gospel. It is only because I’m willing, not because I’m worthy. I understand the shepherds need to praise Him.
I explained to my young teens in the Sunday School Class Sunday morning that God desires vessels to pour Himself into, but they must be cleaned by the blood of Jesus. Not perfect… but willing and obedient. Let Him pour Himself into you this Christmas season; give God the gift of obedience.

Pastor Larry Moss years ago told me to get the book by Oz Guinness, “The Call” Larry had me read that book as Oz Guinness wrote about answering God’s purpose for our lives. Then years later, this past April in fact, Larry told me to leave KKIM, that God told him that HE did not want me to be concerned about the day to day operation of the radio stations, HE wanted me out Preaching, reaching others for HIM! This get’s me up in the morning, to serve GOD! It’s like getting to play baseball as a kid everyday!!!!!! Better in fact! The notes like we got yesterday from Rick keep coming in as confirmation we are doing the right thing.

By the way Oz Guinness spoke at the Biblical Worldview Conference in Albuquerque a few years ago! Outstanding speaker and writer!

Oz asks in his book, “The Call,” Are you in a position right now in which your are taking a stand could make a difference? What is that position? What is holding you back?

For me, the fear, the holding back in leaving KKIM was that I had poured my heart and soul into KKIM for nearly 7 years and leaving to go into full-time ministry without a pay check. I am now free to serve God completely in the way’s that He wants me to serve and I can go at anytime of the day to serve, it’s like I am a fireman on duty for the Lord 24/7. I have the loving support of my wife Sharon and the kids and doggies. Sharon and I are working together at FGGAM, by following the call of the Lord it has made our marriage stronger, very much so, it was strong before, but much stronger now.

I drug my feet leaving KKIM, and I am dragging my feet writing this book people have been telling me to write, The Lord is also telling me to write this book, a story book of the lives HE touches. There are so many books being written…..would mine make a difference? Then I remember one person at a time! AMEN! So please pray for us as we go forth for God’s Glory Alone!

Ask yourself this day.. are you answering the call on your life?

He works for the FBI and recently returned from Afghanistan where he was on a select team to prepare the security infrastructure for the country. He is currently training for a domestic tour. He only has a couple of weeks to go but has a shoulder injury which is extremely painful. This hero needs our prayers so he can remain stateside with his precious family. THE INCREDIBLE POWER OF THE HOLY SPIRIT

Jesus said that he had to depart in order for the Holy Spirit to come (John 16:7). And when the Spirit of God did come, he was given to the church as a promised gift or down payment to confirm to us that Jesus Christ will return (Luke 24:49; John 14:16; Acts 1:5). Believers don’t all agree on how or when we receive the Holy Spirit, but the fact remains th

at he indwells and is accessible to all who have faith.

When we pray and ask the Lord to show us what to do in any specific situation, we are also asking the Holy Spirit to be with us, guide us, and teach us. Scripture tells us that the Spirit of the Lord is evident in a believer’s life when:

• The power of sin is no longer in control (Romans 8:2-6),

• Self-control is displayed (Galatians 5:22-23),

• Prompting or leading is given to the believer (Acts 8:29; Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:16,25),

• Talents/gifts are manifested in a person’s life (1 Cor 12:4-11),

• The strength and power to witness is evident (Acts 1:8; 4:31),

• The conviction of sin occurs (John 16:8),

• Comfort through difficult times/trials is experienced (John 14:16,27),

• We have a teachable heart (1 John 2:27),

• God’s character traits are manifested in the believer’s life (Galatians 5:22-23), and

• Inner strength is given (Ephesians 3:16).

Interestingly enough, it was the Holy Spirit who led Jesus into the desert where the Spirit knew he would be tempted by Satan (Matthew 4:1). Does it seem logical that God’s Holy Spirit would do the same in our lives? If Christ is our example, then the answer is yes, and for the same reason – so that we may glorify God. Additionally, difficulty in life increases our faith and helps us grow in spiritual maturity, both of which are evidence of the Holy Spirit in our lives. Through the Holy Spirit the believer is controlled by God’s desires and is equipped to do all he has called him to do, including the endurance of suffering (Ephesians 5:18-21; Romans 12).

We read in Acts that after Jesus was taken up into heaven, the early Christians were suffering tremendous grief over their loss. But Jesus had promised them a Comforter, and sure enough, at Pentecost the

received that comfort through the indwelling of the Holy Spirit. The predominant role of the Holy Spirit is the same now as it was for the early believers – to soothe our grief, fill and control us, and remind us all of Christ’s teachings.

There may be times when we must wait patiently for the fulfillment of a promise. We must cling to what God has told us despite external evidence that may seem to indicate that God has forsaken us. There may be a moment in time when we begin to believe the lie that God doesn’t care, has deserted us, or is not invested in our agony, when in fact he has promised the Comforter who will come. There is sometimes a moment of time (that feels like eternity) between our loss or grief and the fulfillment of a promise. Even Jesus experienced this when he cried out, “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”

The apostle Paul tells us in Acts 20 that the Holy Spirit warned him that he would face prison and other hardships. His response? “I do not account my life of any value nor as precious to myself, if only I may finish my course and the ministry that I received from the Lord Jesus” (v. 24). The “ministry” he spoke of was that of testifying to the gospel of God’s grace, which is always sufficient when needed.

Suffering is a part of every believer’s life at one point or another and as such is inevitable. How we handle it depend
s
on whether or not we have faith in God. I pray daily for those who are suffering and often wonder where God is in the midst of the heartache of others. Many of you have shared such feelings. I’ve felt that way before too. But faith tells us that He will never leave us nor forsake us, nor will He allow us to endure anything He does not believe will strengthen our faith. Some of my deepest struggles in life have been accompanied with tremendous spiritual growth.

In closing, I encourage you to seek the Lord in prayer and ask Him to help you keep your eyes on the prize before you so that you can run the race with confidence and surety that He is with you and guiding your every step. He is faithful even when we are faithless. He is ever-loving even when we doubt His love, and He is always ready to apply the balm of Gilead on our wounds when we will ask and allow Him to do so. You are in my thoughts and prayers

Christmas Message #4SILLY BIRD…Watch out forChristmas Snares!

Psalm 124:6-8 ~ Blessed be the Lord, who hath not given us as a prey to their teeth. Our soul is escaped as a bird out of the snare of the fowlers: the snare is broken, and we are escaped.Our help is in the name of the Lord, who made heaven and earth.
There are times that it seems that utter chaos abounds in every direction I look; but no greater time than Christmas. What better time for the enemy to attack the church than when the Savior is being magnified in every city across America. The politically correct nuts can harp all they want about calling the season a Holiday or Christmas, but it diminishes the meaning not one very bit in the scope of eternity or in the hearts of Christians. But the attacks of the demonic world can take its toll on family.
Our hearts desire at Christmas is to have the picture perfect snapshot of times with our loved ones. But throw a few “Oops” into the mix and a stressed out mom, dad, child, aunt or uncle and the snapshot turns into one of those crazy western pictures with guns and saloon girls and Jesus is nowhere to be found, nor is there anything that resembles peace on earth. I’d like to offer my suggestion, and hope that I can keep it myself on how to stay out of the fowler’s snare this Christmas.
Pray hard, lest you become prey…
Before we get right into the thick of the season, pray a hedge about your family daily. Every day lift your family’s petition to the Lord that He keeps Satan and his band of merry demons out of your home. God “hath not given us as a prey to their teeth.” It is we that walk into the trap; often times unknowingly but occasionally we go willingly, just not willing to look for another way. If you see an episode of the “Hatfield’s and the McCoy’s” on the horizon is it not better to walk away than to ruin your entire family gathering? You’d be amazed at what can transpire in a lucid moment in time, when you’ve walked away from the trap (argument or hurt feelings) that Satan has set. Then you can return a few minutes later and knock the prop from under his snare by calmly coming back into the situation. Shout Hallelujah! Christmas Spirit is saved.
The snare is broken, don’t fix it…
You’ve prayed the hedge, you’ve walked away from the fight and then in the midst of it all Satan has another trick up his sleeve, “Total Recall.” It’s a great tool of Satan to remind you again and again of past brokenness that has long been mended, but can open into a festering sore by a spoken word or memory. Place those past pains under the blood of Jesus and don’t let Satan uncover it. If he attempts to bring it to mind, counter act it with a good memory or better yet, just run through a few of the blessings God has given you. It won’t be long till that snare is tripped as well and Give God the Glory! Christmas Spirit is saved.
Our help is in the name of the Lord
Silly Bird… Don’t go it alone. The enemies are very subtle and spiteful; they lay snares for God’s people to bring them into sin and trouble, and to hold them there, and then is God’s time to appear and save the day. Or… depend on God from the beginning and cover this Christmas with an abundance of prayer. Pray over the kids, the dog, the turkey, tree, everything about the day. Leave nothing to chance, for prayer is a lot like Christmas insurance, and the premium cost is absolutely free!
