AMEN! PRAISE GOD GARY!!! Wait until you read the story about RJ this morning from his Mother Leslie Mouser.
One of the heroes of the first Gulf War has died. Retired General Norman Schwarzkopf, 78 years of age, passed away in Tampa, Florida. Let us pray for the family.
Let us pray for the Health Care in our Country, I asked Marian if I could post this………..
Marian Wimberly Peace
Well, ObamaCare is already raising it’s ugly head. John called the pharmacy on Monday for a refill for the medicine that is used for his Nebulizer treatment (breathing). There were no refills left, so the pharmacy had to contact the doctor for approval. They didn’t hear back even by yesterday morning, so John called the doctor’s office to see if he could expedite the request. The doctor’s office said they had to submit it to a ‘panel’ and it will take 24 to 48 hours for approval.
John just called the pharmacy again and they still haven’t heard back from the doctor’s office. He has one more vial left – sometimes he uses it twice a day. Our only option is to return to ER if he has a problem, which costs us more money – just to get a refill on a prescription that the doctor already said he needs.
How does this make our health care better? It doesn’t. And this is just the start.
We all had better plan ahead on prescriptions that have no refills left to allow time for the ‘panel’ to approve it. Unbelievable!!! They’ve already started taking the patient care decisions away from the doctors.
Let us be in prayer.
“I said to the Lord, ‘But suppose I preach healing, and the people come, and they don’t get healed?’ And the Lord responded, ‘If people didn’t get saved, you wouldn’t stop preaching the gospel.”
God’s Generals, The Healing Evangelist

“We never figure the odds against, only the odds for something to occur. Our lives in Christ have more trust, more faith and more fun attached than we often realize!” Graham Cooke
As Christians, we don’t mourn hopelessly–we mourn hopefully. Greg Laurie
It is no use saying, ‘We are doing our best.’ You have got to succeed in doing what is necessary. ~ W. Churchill
Now let us read about the miracle of RJ from his Mother Leslie Mouser, I remember praying with Leslie for weeks during RJ’s hospital stay, It’s now 3 years ago………
December 27, 2009, 10:36 pm EST, I was at church feeling quite anxious. I had just recovered from liver and kidney failure resulting from an acute pancreatic attack. My recovery was a true touch by God. On December 19, when I was diagnosed with liver & kidney failure, the doctors told me there was nothing more they could do for me. On December 21, I came home fully recovered. I was set to go back to my work at our church’s café on December 28th. I just reasoned with myself that the anxiety was due to having to go back to work and was a little nervous about it all. Little did I know, my oldest son, RJ, would soon have his life (as well as ours) changed in a blink of an eye.
December 27, 2009, 10:37 pm EST, the car that RJ was a passenger in, crashed off the side of a rural Connecticut road. It was estimated that the car was traveling in excess of 100 mph. The driver, RJ’s dad, was thrown from the car and killed instantly. RJ sustained life threatening injuries, including a compound fracture of the femur (thigh bone), Ulna & Radius (wrist bones), every bone in his body was fractured, traumatic brain injury as well as multiple orthopedic and internal injuries. When EMTs responded, he had no blood pressure or pulse. A young EMT thought he could intubate him and proceeded to try. He succeeded (only after RJ woke from a 7 week coma, did we realize the intubation caused him to lose his front teeth which is a small price to pay for life).
Within 24 hours, I was at RJ’s bedside leaving behind, my husband, my father (who was living with us on hospice) and my three other younger children. They were awoken in the morning by their dad explaining that mom had left to go to Connecticut and RJ wasn’t doing very well and they needed to pray. The doctors at Yale-New Haven Hospital would not rate RJ’s condition. It was beyond “grave”. Only after he woke from his coma at 7 weeks, did they classify him as critical. I stayed with him until he could come home with me (4 months).
Through the God’s amazing power and grace, RJ was saved. On the anniversary of this tragic event, I’m not really sure he feels he was saved. He’s living with a brain injury, enormous ortho and muscular pain. But, for a kid who wasn’t given a chance by doctors, God gave him a second chance.
December 27, 2012, RJ is working as a Sous Chef at Terra Bistro. He was a Sous Chef before the accident. During his recovery, RJ couldn’t even feed himself. Through months of intense physical and occupational and spiritual therapy, RJ can talk, walk, and do the many duties of a Sous Chef.
God is awesome and powerful, gracious and merciful. Since the accident, God provided us with abundant blessings…healing for RJ, work & home for RJ, employment for me since I had to leave the café, and provisions which are so abundant, I do not have sufficient words to express them all.
You might be facing something today which seems insurmountable. But, if you truly submit yourself to our loving father, He will and can make the impossible possible. After all He is the Creator…if you believe that you must believe he can “Create” a second chance for you!
We gather here at the CUP on a daily basis to come together in prayer and love! AMEN! God is still in the miracle making business! AMEN! Thank you for sharing Leslie! We love you all! I will always remember having RJ on my radio program to share about the miracle God performed in his life! AMEN!
From John Bloom………….
“…when the perfect comes, the partial will pass away” (1 Corinthians 13:10).
Another year is passing away. Thank God. Not only for the massive amounts of unquantifiable grace we have received from him, but also because we are one year closer to the passing away of this partial age and all of its incumbent sorrow and weariness.
“When the perfect comes.” Those inspired words stir up deep longings for a time we have never known and yet desperately want.
Paul may have been talking about spiritual gifts when he used that phrase in 1 Corinthians 13, but we know because of Romans Eight that “the partial” means so much more. Right now even the best things are not what they should be. And so much goes so very wrong. In this partial age, our bodies, our loved ones, our careers, our creations, our investments, and our plans are all subject to the forces of futility (Romans 8:20). This age is marked more by suffering (8:18), longing (8:19), groaning (8:23), and hope (8:24) than by fulfillment.
So at year’s end, especially if what we feel at its passing is another disappointment, we must remind each other that the partial, this age that is all that we’ve ever known, is passing away and the perfect is coming.
To all you road-weary travelers who have found that the way that leads to life (Matthew 7:14) is harder than you ever imagined, the perfect day of rest is coming (Matthew 11:28).
To all you who find yourself at the end of this year poor in spirit (Matthew 5:3), humbled, desolate, and in desperate need of what only God can provide, the perfect day of the all-abundant kingdom is coming.
To all you who are mourning the loss of a precious one (Matthew 5:4) and finding it hard to press on under the heavy cloak of sorrow, the perfect day of death’s death (1 Corinthians 15:26) is coming.
To all of you who are growing tired in the relentless struggle to hold back the flood of unrighteousness, both from within and without, and who long deeply for a time when all is made right (Matthew 5:6), the perfect day of your satisfaction is coming.
To all of you who have been injured by the maliciousness of another and have responded with a tear-filled mercy (Matthew 5:7), the perfect day of restoration is coming.
To all of you who whose soft heart (Matthew 5:8) is tormented over the sin-hardened, sin-infected world around you, the perfectly pure day is coming when you will see what your soul most longs for.
To all of you peacemakers who are blessed of God (Matthew 5:9) and yet find this blessed work heartbreaking, misunderstood, and under appreciated, the perfect day of reconciliation is coming.
To all of you who find yourselves in a disorienting darkness that feels unbearable and wonder if God has abandoned you (Psalm 88:14), the perfect day is coming when the Light, in whom there is no darkness (1 John 1:5), will shine upon you (Numbers 6:25).
And to all of you who increasingly love and long for Jesus’ appearing (2 Timothy 4:8), who have an inconsolable homesickness for a country far better than any that exists here (Hebrews 11:16), your perfect home, a home prepared especially for you (John 14:2), is coming.
When the perfect comes, the partial will pass away. The promised “soon” (Revelation 22:20) is getting sooner. Let us keep encouraging one another with these words (1 Thessalonians 4:18). Let us hold fast to the hope set before us (Hebrews 6:18). And let us press on to know the Lord (Hosea 6:3).
And may the Lord cause these words to come true: next year in Jerusalem!
Oh my, oh my, I became ill in the spirit by reading this……..this is why we must be Salt and Light and carry out the Great Commission and Occupy until He returns……..
CNN host Piers Morgan said he believes the Bible and the U.S. Constitution are “inherently flawed” and asserted that it’s time for the Bible’s position on gay rights to be amended.
“It’s flawed,” Morgan said during an interview with evangelical pastor and author Rick Warren. “Both the Bible and the Constitution were well-intentioned, but they are basically, inherently flawed – hence the need to amend it.
“I do not believe the Bible is flawed,” Warren said. “What I believe is flawed is human opinion because it constantly changes.”
The British-born talk show host held his ground during a lengthy conversation about the Bible and gay rights.
“But you and I know the Bible is, in many places a flawed document,” Morgan said – a point of disagreement with Pastor Warren.
“My point to you about gay rights for example – it’s time for an amendment to the Bible,” Morgan told Warren. “You should compile a new Bible.”
“Not a chance,” Warren replied. “I willingly admit, willingly admit that I base my worldview on the Bible which I believe is true. And my definition of truth is – if it’s new it’s not true. If it was true a thousand years ago, it’ll be true a thousand years from today. Opinion changes but truth doesn’t.”
“We’re going to agree to disagree on that,” Morgan said.
Robert Jeffress, pastor of the historic First Baptist Church of Dallas, Tex., told Fox News that Morgan was incredibly off-base with his remarks.
“For Morgan to label God’s divine revelation as ‘flawed’ because it doesn’t confirm to his own opinion is the epitome of arrogance,” he said. “My guess is that the Bible will be around a lot longer than Morgan’s program.”
Paul Kengor, the executive director of The Center for Vision and Values at Grove City College, told Fox News that to doubt the Constitution is one thing, “but to assume the infallible authority to judge the words of God is something else altogether.”
“It’s quite ironic that at this sacred time of year, Christmas, we’d be talking about truth allegedly changing and the need to amend sacred Scripture,” Kengor said. “It’s also remarkable to watch secular liberals like Piers Morgan assume unto themselves the extraordinary authority to divine what in the Bible is true and what is not, what is flawed and what is not, and where certain “amendments” supposedly need to occur. Do they fully realize precisely what powers they are proclaiming?”
But Jeffress did find a silver lining in Morgan’s comments.
“At least Piers Morgan recognizes what many Christians fail to comprehend– that both the Bible and the Constitution define marriage as a union between a man and a woman,” he added.
The CNN host has been under fire in recent days after he launched a crusade for gun control laws in the aftermath of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
He used his Twitter account to call Wayne LaPierre, the head of the National Rifle, a “dangerous, dim-witted, deluded menace to American safety.”
During an interview on his CNN program Morgan called Gun Owners of America executive director Larry Pratt a liar and an idiot.
“You’re an unbelievably stupid man, aren’t you?” Morgan asked Pratt.
“You don’t give a damn, do you, about the gun murder rate in America?” Morgan asked. “You don’t actually care.”
That encounter led to the creation of a petition on the White House website calling for Morgan to be deported. Tens of thousands of people have signed the petition alleging that “British citizen and CNN television host Piers Morgan is engaged in a hostile attack against the U.S. Constitution by targeting the Second Amendment.”
But it appears there may be some people in England who would prefer that Morgan stay on the American side of the Atlantic Ocean.
A second petition on the “We the People” website was launched called, “Keep Piers Morgan in the USA.”
“There are two very good reasons for this,” the petition states. “Firstly, the First Amendment. Second and the most important point, no one in the UK wants him back.”
The petition was reportedly started by a Briton and now has more than 5,000 signers.
A third petition calls for the White House to keep Morgan in the country to protect his Constitutional rights. That petition has more than 1,000 signers.
Let us pray for Mr. Morgan to see the light of Jesus Christ. To amend the Bible, oh my! Lord have mercy on him.
