A young woman I know who is pregnant with her first child, needs to be lifted up. Her husband shared with me that she was just diagnosed with cancer. They need wisdom in knowing the right course of treatment which will be challenging considering the pregnancy. Thanks for your help on this one!

Charles Spurgeon – The Prince of Preachers
“The more holy a man becomes, the more conscious he is of unholiness.”
I know this to be so true.I still blush! My Dad still blushed until the day he went to heaven! I don’t see many men that blush anymore….in many ways we have become to harden. I love the fact that I still blush.
Here is an update on Dan Bernard’s Dad…………
Update on my dad. He had to have surgery on a collapsed bile duct in his liver today. The surgeons were unable to fix the problem. They are going to put in a drain tomorrow. With a couple of procedures and another surgery they are hoping to create a new duct and put in a stint. He is very jaundice, tired, and has lots of toxins in his body. Thank you all for our thoughts and prayers.
Dan and I coach together for the Heights Christian/Amistad Softball teams and last night after our practice game we all gathered around and prayed and then also circled Dan and prayed over him!!! A great time of fellowship, PRAISE GOD!

I liked the article about people losing religion. NOTE:This excellent write up can be found on our web site:
http://www.fggam.org/christiansheres-why-we-are-losing-our-religion/
People stay home on Sundays because, after
They have followed all of the rules and payed all of
Their tithes, they find that the church is not
There for them when they need some help.
A lot of times, non religious people will aid them
The most. I agree, churches need to stop
Focusing on bigger buildings and start building
Hurting people.
God bless your ministry,
Robin White
God Bless you Robin!
The Goodness of our Lord………………How great HE is!!!! AMEN!!!!

From the Series: Let Me See Thy Glory – A Study of the Attributes of God
Introduction
Mo, one of the inmates in a maximum security prison where I conducted a seminar, was a very substantial fellow. While Mo did not quite meet the requirements of a sumo wrestler, he came close enough to command a great deal of respect. For all of his size and strength, he had lost virtually all of his front teeth. When Mo volunteered to provide special music for the seminar, my friend Dick Plowman, a former member of our church and prison ministry colleague, introduced Mo to the audience: “Now, let’s see, what number is Mo going to sing for us? Right! Anything he wants!”
Here was a man of great strength, a man most inmates would not wish to challenge or offend. Because of his strength, he could do anything he wanted within the limits of the prison system. The power and raw physical strength of an evil man is a frightening reality. The power of a good man is a comfort. But the other attributes a man possesses determines how his power is viewed.
In and of itself, God’s power is not nearly as comforting as when seen in light of several of His other attributes. Two of these attributes are the “goodness” of God and the “wisdom” of God. The God who is all-powerful is the same God who is good and wise; God’s power becomes a source of great comfort and encourage-ment to the Christian. This lesson considers the attribute of God’s goodness, and our following lesson will study the attribute of God’s wisdom. A brief review of some important truths about the goodness of God should help to show us the importance of studying God’s goodness.
The Goodness of God is One of His Attributes
1 Oh give thanks to the LORD, for He is good; for His lovingkindness is everlasting (Psalms 107:1).
19 How great is Thy goodness, which Thou hast stored up for those who fear Thee, which Thou hast wrought for those who take refuge in Thee, before the sons of men! (Psalms 31:19).
5 Afterward the sons of Israel will return and seek the LORD their God and David their king; and they will come trembling to the LORD and to His goodness in the last days (Hosea 3:5).
The Importance of the Goodness of God
The goodness of God is not only an attribute of God but a foundational truth every Christian should embrace. Consider some of the reasons God’s goodness is important to us.
(1) The “goodness” of God is prominent in the opening chapters of the Bible. Repeatedly, God pronounced everything which He created “good” (see Genesis 1:4, 10, 18; 1 Timothy 4:4). In chapter 2, God saw that it was “not good” for Adam to be alone, and so He created a wife for him (2:18-25). In the garden of Eden, where God had placed Adam and Eve, there was “the tree of the knowledge of good and evil.” From the fruit of this one tree, the man and woman were forbidden to eat. We shall return to this matter of “goodness” in the garden, for it is a vitally important truth. Suffice to say the issues of “goodness” and “evil” are prominent at the beginning of the Bible.
(2) The goodness of God appears to be the sum total of all of God’s attributes. The goodness of God may thus be viewed as one facet of His glorious nature and character and also the overall summation of His nature and character.
19 Then Moses said, “I pray Thee, show me Thy glory!” And He said, “I Myself will make all My goodness pass before you, and will proclaim the name of the LORD before you; and I will be gracious to whom I will be gracious, and will show compassion on whom I will show compassion” (Exodus 33:19; see also Exodus 34:5-7).
(3) We cannot separate what is good from God. You cannot have goodness without God, just as you cannot have God without goodness. God alone is good:
2 I said to the LORD, “Thou art my Lord; I have no good besides Thee” (Psalms 16:2).
16 And behold, one came to Him and said, “Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may obtain eternal life?” 17 And He said to him, “Why are you asking Me about what is good? There is [only] One who is good; but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments” (Matthew 19:16-17).
No man is good:
1 (For the choir director. [A Psalm] of David.) The fool has said in his heart, “There is no God.” They are corrupt, they have committed abominable deeds; There is no one who does good (Psalms 14:1; seePsalm 53:1; Romans 3:9-18).
God is the source of everything that is good:
17 Every good thing bestowed and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation, or shifting shadow (James 1:17).
God does not withhold anything that is truly good from His children.
11 For the LORD God is a sun and shield; The LORD gives grace and glory; No good thing does He withhold from those who walk uprightly (Psalm 84:11).
We simply cannot separate “good” from “God.” Here is where our society, and especially our educational system, had better take note. You cannot teach values, you cannot teach morality, without teaching about God. “Be ye holy,” God said, “for I am holy” (see 1 Peter 1:16; Leviticus 11:44f.).
(4) Man’s eternal destiny is determined by his decision as to how one can truly be good in God’s sight (See John 5:28-29; Romans 3:1-26; Titus 3:3-7).
(5) Apart from the divine revelation of the Scriptures, we cannot recognize true goodness, for it cannot be understood apart from knowing God and seeing life from His perspective. This is precisely the point of Psalm 73 which we will now consider, for it gives us a radically different definition of “good.”
April 9, 2013. Don’t give up. I know it feels like two seconds until too late but don’t give up. Keep your mind on Me and the good things that have happened in the past. Read My word. Read it with expectation, thinking it will speak to exactly where you are. It will speak to you beyond the natural. It is active and alive and will build your faith, and will bring you peace of mind. This enables you to hear what to do next. I love you and will never abandon you.
Hebrews 4:12-13 (NLT) “For the word of God is alive and powerful. It is sharper than the sharpest two-edged sword, cutting between soul and spirit, between joint and marrow. It exposes our innermost thoughts and desires.Nothing in all creation is hidden from God. Everything is naked and exposed before his eyes, and he is the one to whom we are accountable.” Bev Robinson

We are called to be “holy”—Christ-followers who are different than the world around us. Yet if this wonderful difference is only experienced among fellow believers—in the holy huddle—a hope-needy world will never experience the life-giving difference of Christ. We need to boldly move into friendships with not-yet-believing people.
Remember the two foundational ideas for the Gospel to move out of our lives and into those who don’t yet know Jesus?
1. Live among—presence.
2. Live differently—holiness.
Speaking to His Father about His disciples, Jesus said, “I’m not asking you to take them out of the world, but to keep them safe from the evil one. They do not belong to this world any more than I do. Make them holy by your truth; teach them your word, which is truth. Just as you sent me into the world, I am sending them into the world” (John 17:15–18, NLT).
The Good News of Christ will spread naturally in our world only if we are friends with and walk alongside those who don’t yet know Christ. Make a list: Who are the not-yet-believing people God has placed right around you? How can you move toward them relationally or get to know them better?
I got a kick out of this from Rick Stambaugh, but like Rick I really don’t like the term “old fart” LOL LOL LOL! I like the term “fuddy duddy” This world makes me feel like an “old fuddy duddy”!!!!
Got this from my beloved brother in Dallas & agree, I don’t necessarily don’t like the term Old Fart but I kinda like it after reading this; although I’d add:
* Old Farts get out of the car & pump the gas & wash the windows instead of watching their women do it.
* Old Farts still go out to get the paper in the morning.
* Old Farts don’t let their children go to the store in their pajamas.

Never really liked the terminology “Old Farts” but this makes me feel better about it.
And if you ain’t one, I bet ya you know one!
I got this from an “Old Fart” friend of mine!OLD FART PRIDE
I’m passing this on as I did not want to be the only old fart receiving it. Actually, it’s not a bad thing to be called, as you will see.
• Old Farts are easy to spot at sporting events; during the playing of the National Anthem. Old Farts remove their caps and stand at attention and sing without embarrassment. They know the words and believe in them.
• Old Farts remember World War II, Pearl Harbour,Guadalcanal, Normandy and Hitler. They remember the Atomic Age, the Korean War, The Cold War, the Jet Age and the Moon Landing. They remember the 50 plus Peacekeeping Missions from 1945 to 2005, not to mention Vietnam.
• If you bump into an Old Fart on the sidewalk he will apologize. If you pass an Old Fart on the street, he will nod or tip his cap to a lady. Old Farts trust strangers and are courtly to women.
• Old Farts hold the door for the next person and always, when walking, make certain the lady is on the inside for protection.
• Old Farts get embarrassed if someone curses in front of women and children and they don’t like any filth or dirty language on TV or in movies.
• Old Farts have moral courage and personal integrity. They seldom brag unless it’s about their children or grandchildren.
• It’s the Old Farts who know our great country is protected, not by politicians, but by the young men and women in the military serving their country. This country needs Old Farts with their work ethic, sense of responsibility, pride in their country and decent values.
We need them now more than ever.
Thank God for Old Farts !
Pass this on to all the “Old Farts” you know.
I was taught to respect my elders. It’s just getting harder to find them.
