Dear Family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
We are so thankful you stopped by this day here at the CUP!
If this ……is of men, it will come to nothing; but if it is of God, you cannot overthrow it
Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
I am in mourning and praying over the death of the 19 firefighters in Arizona. It is even hard for me to type this today. It was very hard to post the news last night and this morning at FGGAM. To start off the CUP this morning please click here and read my post at FGGAM: http://www.fggam.org/praying-and-mourning-the-death-of-arizona-firefighters-our-heros/
I also pray that you will let this soak in………………..
There is nothing more thrilling than pursing God and having a personal relationship with our Father. I was told years ago by a Pastor, “Dewey you are a man after God’s own heart.” He said you are like David. I really went to work and read all I could about David! Have you studied the life of David? Perhaps no man has ever went after God’s heart like King David. Many of the psalms are the results of his quietly waiting and reflecting upon God. As a “man after God’s own heart,” David first had to know the mind and heart of God. To a large extent, David accomplished this through the persistent practice of godly meditation. A vivid illustration can be found in 2 Samuel 7. In this chapter we see that David has reached a place of rest in his reign. His war campaigns are no longer on the drawing board, and he is now contemplating building a temple for the Lord. The prophet Nathan gives an encouraging message of God’s faithfulness to David and the Lord’s plan for constructing the temple. David’s response to Nathan’s communique is found in 2 Samuel 7:18 , “Then King David went in and sat before the Lord; and he said: “Who am I, O Lord God? And what is my house, that You have brought me this far?” Notice the phrase, David “sat before the Lord.” Now he wasn’t sitting in a chair as we would. He was kneeling and sitting back on his heels, listening, and talking to the Lord.
Let us do the same each day.
Pray over the words found in 2 Samuel 7:18″ “Who am I, O Lord God?”
We are to start our day with God and meditate……..
Meditation is the activity of calling to mind, and thinking over, and dwelling on, and applying to oneself, the various things that one knows about the works and ways and purposes and promises of God. It is an activity of holy thought, consciously performed in the presence of God, under the eye of God, by the help of God, as a means of communion with God. Its purpose is to clear one’s mental and spiritual vision of God, and to let His truth make its full and proper impact on one’s mind and heart. It is a matter of talking to oneself about God and oneself; it is, indeed, often a matter of arguing with oneself, reasoning oneself out of moods of doubt and unbelief into a clear apprehension of God’s power and grace. Its effect is to ever humble us as we contemplate God’s greatness and glory, and our own littleness and sinfulness, and to encourage and reassure us–“comfort” us in the old, strong Bible sense of the word–as we contemplate the unsearchable riches of divine mercy displayed in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Dear family of our Lord Jesus Christ,
That is a picture of my hero and friend Harmon Killebrew, Hall of Fame baseball player. Harmon passed away on May 17th, 2011 of cancer. I have the first letter that he sent me after I had written him when I was a little boy back in Minnesota. I had something so special happen to me yesterday. I was reading the article that I had on my facebook page about Harmon announcing that he was dying of cancer and was going into hospice and spending his final days at home with friends and family. I read that and God said call Harmon’s wife! So I went to the phone and dialed directory assistance and got Harmon’s widow, Nita on the phone! We had a wonderful conversation for almost 45 minutes!!!!!!!!! She is a women of God as Harmon was a man of God. She shared with me the final days of Harmon’s life and the friends that came to visit before he passed onto heaven. I was blessed to have Harmon on my radio show twice, once for 2 hours!!!! I grew up communicating with this man for several years and watching him play baseball. I told Nita the most “anger” I ever saw come out of Harmon was when he was on TV months before he died telling player’s to stop using steroids and clean up the game. Harmon set an example for all of us with his testimony, his actions on and off the field of Godly excellence. Now at one time Harmon went through great personal struggles, divorce, financial and health, but God restored him. Through those struggles Harmon taught many that we may be down and out, but God can restore us. God is the only one that can truly restore us. Why did God have me pick up the phone and call Nita Killebrew? I never ask God why. I just do it, you would have thought from listening to that conversation that Nita and I knew each other for years! It was a Godly opportunity to share our love for Harmon. Nita said that after Harmon passed on and when she went to the Hall-of-Fame induction the next year, she went to the Sunday Church service at the Hall-of-Fame and in came Reggie Jackson! Nita said that he gave the most wonderful testimony how Jesus changed his life! Here’s the real deal folks once again: Jesus is the only one that can truly change lives. Reggie used to be an EGO maniac, a mean person, full of anger. But God healed him. It is such a blessing to be in tuned to God and have Him tell you what to do, like call Nita Killebrew. By the way for you Minnesota Twins fans, can you tell me who hit the first inside-the-park homerun at the Old Met? Yes, it was Harmon! Who would have thought? You didn’t know Harmon could run so fast did you!!!!! LOL LOL Nita made sure to tell me that, it was one of the final laughs Harmon had with Nita and Twins great Tony Oliva before passing through the gates of heaven.
This verse comes to mind when I think of Harmon:
The discretion of a man makes him slow to anger, and his glory is to overlook a transgression. Proverbs 19:11
Many of us get into real trouble in our relationships because we insist on being “right” We demand that everyone see things are way; and because we refuse to overlook a transgression, we end up alienating our friends and family.
I don’t know if Harmon ever got thrown out of a game by an umpire? Do you? He showed great patients on and off the field, a great testimony too many of us. My prayer this day is that this world have more role models like Harmon. More role models who have God as their ultimate hero, role model. Harmon was part of my growing up, part of the foundation of my life, and for that I am eternally grateful.
By the way, I experienced my Mom passing of cancer and the toll that Chemo took on her. Mom finally decided, Lord take me home, this Chemo is awful…………

June 28, 2013. You must read such stories with great faith as this one about Publius’ father being healed on the island of Malta. When the other islanders who had any disease were also healed, you know God is establishing Paul not only as a healer but also as an apostle of Jesus. Paul declared as present the Kingdom of God. You could see the Kingdom of God as being like a suitcase. Paul opens the suitcase and that power and love saves, heals and delivers. It is simple and powerful. This how masses come to Christ in salvation.
Acts 28:8-9 (NASB) “And it happened that the father of Publius was lying in bed afflicted with recurrent fever and dysentery; and Paul went in to see him and after he had prayed, he laid his hands on him and healed him. After this had happened, the rest of the people on the island who had diseases were coming to him and getting cured.” Ras Robinson

June 28, 2013. The water was poisoned with negative words long ago. It continued with more condemnation from time to time. Then someone hearing the poisonous words and also tasting the bitter water added their own negative words. Now the water is bitter for many. Precious one, sometimes you are wrong. It’s not always someone else being wrong. You need My cross, My tree, to make it sweet again. If you will humble yourself and obey Me, I will sweeten the water once again. Work with Me. Speak words of kindness and blessings.
Exodus 15:23-25 (NASB) “When they came to Marah, they could not drink the waters of Marah, for they were bitter; therefore it was named Marah. So the people grumbled at Moses, saying, “What shall we drink?” Then he cried out to the Lord, and the Lord showed him a tree; and he threw it into the waters, and the waters became sweet.” Bev Robinson

June 28, 2013. Turn loose. Instead of holding onto things which are so precious to you, hold them very lightly. Many before you have been robbed of greater blessings from Me because they were unable to relinquish their so called ownership of something. Reflect on the paths you’ve taken to get where you are right now. Could you have gotten where you are any sooner? Perhaps? Let go and let God have control. Perform an intensive heart check upon yourself. Strike down any inkling of idolatry I reveal to you. Respond. Repent. Release. Reign.
